Resumo: Segundo Lou Salomé, a filosofia de Nietzsche é essencialmente autobiográfica e é melhor compreendida como um tipo de confissão pessoal, memórias ou autorretrato. Na minha opinião, no entanto, essa abordagem está radicalmente equivocada, e a evidência textual mostra, na verdade, o contrário do que Salomé pensa. Nessas passagens, Nietzsche está na verdade criticando filósofos anteriores por cometeram um erro cognitivo falsificador, quando se projetaram, a si mesmos e seus preconceitos, na realidade como um todo. Abstract: According to Lou Salomé, Nietzsche’s philosophy is essentially autobiographical and is best understood as a kind of personal confession, memoir, or self-portrait. In my view, however, this approach is radically mistaken and the textual evidence actually shows the opposite of what Salomé thinks. In these passages, Nietzsche is actually criticizing past philosophers for committing a falsifying cognitive error when they projected themselves and their personal prejudices into all of reality.

O trabalho está dividido em dois volumes: Livros Sobre Livros e Biblioteca. Em Livro Sobre Livros apresento minha produção de livros de quando comecei até hoje, buscando articulação entre imagens, procedimentos, formas de produção e conceitos. As fotografias dos trabalhos estão organizadas cronologicamente com informações sobre cada obra e descrições das mesmas quando necessário. Em Biblioteca, fiz uma seleção de trabalhos de diversos artistas de várias épocas e países que também exploram o livro como suporte para criação e com os quais, por um motivo ou outro, me identifico. A ideia foi suscitar um devaneio sobre influências, coincidências e reverberações nesse campo, criando diálogos gramaticais, visuais, conceituais e poéticos entre cada livro desta Biblioteca e entre esta e minha produção. As imagens estão organizadas cronologicamente por ordem de nascimento dos artistas/autores. E também estão acompanhadas das informações que pude encontrar sobre cada obra durante a pesquisa. The work here presented to the Escola de Comunicações e Artes da Universidade de São Paulo - ECA (Communication and Arts School, University of São Paulo, Brasil) is divided in two volumes: Book About Books and Library. In Book About Books I present my production of books from when I first began to the present, seeking articulation between images, procedures, forms of production and concepts. The photographs of the works are organized chronologically with information about each work and descriptions thereof when necessary. In Library, I made a selection of works by several artists from various eras and countries that also explore the book as a base for creation and with which, for one reason or other, I identify myself. The idea was to raise a daydreaming about influences, coincidences and reverberations in this field, creating grammatical, visual, conceptual and poetic dialogues between the books in the volume Library and between that collection and my own production. The images chosen from each of the artist/authors are organized chronologically by order of birth. They are also accompanied by information I found about each work along the research.

This master's dissertation proposes a discussion on the accelerated contemporary growth of vulnerable urban territories, and the complex issues that this poses to architecture and urbanism. Building an understanding from the perspective of gender and childhood, the work is part of the analysis of the theoretical reference raised about the current state of the debate about the approaches of design practices to the themes of social and territorial vulnerability; follows considerations on how vulnerability affects in particular women and children and recognizes historical precedents in the recognition and appreciation of popular and spontaneous cultures. Taking the discussion forward, a characterization of vulnerable territory is proposed, and the enumeration of essential conditions for analysis and proposal of interventions in these contexts, with emphasis on the articulated engagement of five instances: civil society, community, private initiative, university and public authorities. Five case studies are analyzed: Glicério, Jardim Lapenna, Parelheiros and Favela do Moinho in the city of São Paulo and Arari, in the municipality of the same name. The results of the analyses indicate that the understanding of the articulation modes of the five instances is still under construction. Nevertheless, the results of the actions seem to be better the more these instances participate and articulate. Esta dissertação de mestrado propõe uma discussão sobre o crescimento acelerado dos territórios urbanos vulneráveis contemporaneamente, e as questões complexas que isto coloca para a arquitetura e o urbanismo. Construindo um entendimento a partir da perspectiva do gênero e da infância, o trabalho parte da análise de referencial teórico levantado sobre o estado atual do debate acerca das aproximações das práticas projetuais às temáticas da vulnerabilidade social e territorial; prossegue ponderando sobre como a vulnerabilidade afeta particularmente as mulheres e as crianças e reconhece precedentes históricos referenciais no reconhecimento e valorização das culturas populares e espontâneas. Levando adiante a discussão, é proposta uma caracterização de território vulnerável, e a enumeração de condições essenciais para análise e proposta de intervenções nestes contextos, com ênfase no engajamento articulado de cinco instâncias: sociedade civil, a comunidade, iniciativa privada, a universidade e o poder público. Com isso em vista, são analisados cinco estudos de caso: Glicério, Jardim Lapenna, Parelheiros e Favela do Moinho no município de São Paulo e Arari, no município de mesmo nome. Os resultados das análises indicam que o entendimento dos modos de articulação das cinco instâncias acima mencionadas ainda está em construção. Não obstante, os resultados das ações parecem ser melhores quanto mais estas instâncias participam e articulam-se.

Engraulinae, uma sub-família de Engraulidae, inclui onze gêneros e cerca de 90 espécies com hábitos marinhos, estuarinos e dulcícolas, distribuídas nas américas do Sul, Central e do Norte, exceto Encrasicholina e Engraulis, o primeiro restrito ao Indo-Pacífico e o segundo com distribuição global. Anchoviella, um gênero de Engraulinae, que pertence ao grupo de manjubas do Novo Mundo, possui 15 espécies descritas, mas, como sugerido por diversos autores, a maioria das espécies do gênero apresenta problemas taxonômicos que necessitam ser revisados. O monofiletismo de Engraulinae é sustentado por quatro sinapomorfias relacionadas a morfologia geral do corpo, padrão de canais sensoriais cefálicos e características do esqueleto caudal e arcos branquiais. O presente estudo tem dois objetivos principais: i) elaborar a análise filogenética de Engraulinae com base na análise de dados morfológicos, a fim de evidenciar padrões de evolução dos grupos na sub-família, ii) elaborar a revisão taxonômica de Anchoviella. Foram elencados 103 caracteres de morfologia externa e interna de todos os gêneros pertencentes a Engraulinae. O monofiletismo de Engraulinae e Engraulini não foi corroborado no presente estudo, assim como o da maioria dos gêneros incluídos na subfamília, com exceção de Anchovia, que formou um clado monofilético com alto suporte de Bremer. Proposto como o mais derivado em Engraulinae em estudos filogenéticos anteriores, o gênero Encrasicholina foi incluído em um dos grandes clados da família obtidos no presente estudo, juntamente com espécies de Stolephorus, Engraulis e Anchoa. Pterengraulis atherinoides é o clado mais derivado em Engraulidae, com Lycengraulis grossidens e Anchoa spinifer também situados entre os táxons mais derivados da família. Além disso, a obtenção de um grande clado com espécies pertencentes a Amazonsprattus scintilla, Anchoviella e Anchoa reforça as hipóteses de relacionamento próximo entre Amazonsprattus scintilla e Anchoviella. A revisão taxonômica de Anchoviella revelou 13 espécies válidas e duas espécies dulcícolas não descritas. Entretanto, de acordo com o resultado obtido na análise filogenética, apenas três dessas espécies deveriam ser mantidas em Anchoviella enquanto as demais espécies formariam um novo gênero incluindo Amazonsprattus scintilla. Engraulinae, a subfamily of Engraulidae, includes eleven genera and about 90 species with marine, estuarine and freshwater habits, distributed in South, Central and North America, except Encrasicholina and Engraulis, the first one restricted to the Indo-Pacific and the second, with a global distribution. Anchoviella, one genus of Egraulidae, that belongs to the New World Anchovies group, is represented by 15 described species but, according to many authors, most species of the genus are poorly described and in need of revision. The monophyly of Engraulinae is supported by four synapomorphies related to general morphology of the body, pattern of sensory cephalic canals and characteristics of the caudal skeleton and branchial arches. The present study has two main goals: i) to analyse the phylogenetic relationships within Engraulinae based on morphological data, aiming to highlight evolution patterns within the groups of the subfamily, ii) to perform the taxonomic revision of Anchoviella based on the analysis of 103 external and internal morphological characters of all the genera within Engraulinae. The monophyly of Engraulinae and Engraulini was not herein corroborated, as well as the monophyly of most of the genera within the subfamily, except Anchovia, that was included in a monophyletic clade with a strong Bremer support. Proposed as the most derived genus within the Engraulinae in previous studies, the genus Encrasicholina was herein included within one of the major clades of the family, together with species of Stolephorus, Engraulis and Anchoa. Pterengraulis atherinoides is the more derived taxon within the Engraulidae, together with Lycengraulis grossidens and Anchoa spinifer, also included within the more derived taxa of the family. Moreover, one major clade with species belonging to Amazonsprattus scintilla, Anchoviella and Anchoa was obtained, reinforcing the hypothesis of a close relationship among Amazonsprattus scintilla and Anchoviella and among Anchoa and Anchoviella. The taxonomic revision of Anchoviella revealed the existence of 13 valid species and two undescribed freshwater species. However, according to the results obtained through the phylogenetic analysis undertaken, only three among these species should be maintained within Anchoviella, while the other species would form a new genus including Amazonsprattus scintilla.

O gênero Anchoviella Fowler, 1911 compreende 25 espécies de peixes de pequeno porte, de hábitos marinho, estuarino ou dulcícola, que ocorrem no continente americano. No Brasil foram registradas até o momento nove espécies do gênero, sendo seis de água doce. As espécies de água doce de Anchoviella foram descritas com base na análise de poucos exemplares e, em alguns casos em juvenis, certamente devido à escassez de material disponível nas coleções até o momento. Atualmente, o Museu de Zoologia da Universidade de São Paulo (MZUSP) e outras instituições brasileiras do gênero conseguiram reunir uma quantidade suficiente de material, tornando viável e oportuna a revisão taxonômica destas espécies. O presente estudo, portanto, teve como objetivos: i) redescrever as espécies de água doce do gênero Anchoviella presentes nas bacias Amazônica e do São Francisco; ii) definir com maior precisão a distribuição geográfica destas; iii) construir uma chave de identificação para o reconhecimento das espécies de Anchoviella presentes nas bacias Amazônica e do São Francisco. Foram encontradas oito espécies do gênero em estudo, cinco destas já descritas. São elas: Anchoviella alleni, A. carrikeri, A. guianensis, A. jamesi, A. vaillanti, A. sp.1, A. sp.2 e A. sp.3. A. nattereri fica no presente estudo como um nomen dubium. Tais espécies foram redescritas e comparadas quanto a caracteres morfológicos. Posteriormente, foi elaborada uma chave dicotômica incluindo além das sete espécies de Anchoviella encontradas no presente estudo, outras três espécies do gênero que habitam as áreas costeira e estuarina da região norte do Brasil. The genus Anchoviella Fowler, 1911 includes 25 species of small fish with marine, estuarine or freshwater habits that are present in the Americas. In Brazil nine species of the genus were registered so far, six freshwater. The freshwater species of Anchoviella were described based on the analysis of a few specimens and, in some cases in juvenile specimens, certainly due to the scarcity of material available in collections so far. Currently, the Museu de Zoologia da Universidade de Sao Paulo (MZUSP) and other Brazilian institutions of this kind were able to gather a sufficient amount of material, becoming feasible and appropriate the taxonomic revision of these species. The present study therefore aimed to: i) redefine the freshwater species of the genus Anchoviella present in the Amazon and Sao Francisco River basin; ii) define more precisely the geographical distribution of these species; iii) construct an identification key for the recognition of species Anchoviella present in the Amazon and Sao Francisco basin. We have found eight species of the genus in the study, five of these already described. They are: A. alleni, A. carrikeri, A. guianensis, A. jamesi, A. vaillanti, A. sp.1, A. sp.2 and A. sp.3. A. nattereri is in this study as a nomen dubium. These species were redescribed and compared based on morphological characters. It was later developed a dichotomous key that include besides the seven species Anchoviella found in this study, three other species of which inhabit the coastal and estuarine areas of northern Brazil.

Pesquisa do Estado do Amazonas This research explains the creation process of the Reserva Extrativista do Rio Unini RESEX (a Brazilian category of protected area meant for traditional people), located in the right bank of the Negro river, 500 kilometers from Manaus/AM, and the social and environmental conflicts involved during this process. The main goal was to understand the relations between inhabitants of Unini river and external institutions, including local associations, IBAMA (Brazilian Environmental Control Agency), ICMBio (Brazilian Protected Areas Management Agency), the NGO Funda????o Vit??ria Amaz??nica FVA and businessmen of the peacockbass fishing tourism. For this, during 2007 and 2008 we have been seven times in the field, totaling more than fifty days, using methodologies of participant observation, interviews, and analysis of social situations (Gluckman, 1958). The dissertation begins with an ethnography of the local population, since its historical origin until today, pointing out the presence of the Ja?? National Park in the region, from the theoretical discussion that involves the presence of human populations in protected areas where people are not allowed to live in. It discourses on the process of political training lived by part of the inhabitants of Unini river that lead to the creation of the Association of the Inhabitants of Unini River - AMORU and the creation of the RESEX in 2006. It analyses how this process happened and which was the role playded by the different external agents in the area. It deals about the main local conflits envolving the use of common resources, pointing out the conflict involving the peacockbass fishing activities in the upper Unini river area, which is the border of RESEX and the Aman?? State Reserve of Sustainable Development. This conflict was taken into the Federal Justice in 2007. Finally, it is presented the perspective of implementation of the RESEX through the creation of instruments of management and different interinstitutional projects for the improvement of the Unini's inhabitants quality of life. Esta pesquisa trata do processo de cria????o da Reserva Extrativista do Rio Unini RESEX, localizada na margem direita do rio Negro, a cerca de 500 km de Manaus/AM, e dos conflitos socioambientais envolvidos durante este processo. O objetivo central foi compreender como se estabeleceram e se desenvolveram as rela????es entre os moradores do rio Unini e as institui????es externas que ali atuam, incluindo as associa????es de moradores, o Instituto Brasileiro de Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renov??veis IBAMA, o Instituto Chico Mendes de Conserva????o da Biodiversidade ICMBio, gestor da RESEX, a ONG Funda????o Vit??ria Amaz??nica FVA e empres??rios do turismo de pesca esportiva. Foram realizadas sete viagens a campo, totalizando cerca de cinq??enta dias, onde foi praticada a observa????o participante, a an??lise situacional de Gluckman (1958) em eventos coletivos de negocia????o e entrevistas com os agentes locais. Trata a seguir dos principais conflitos locais, relacionados com o uso de recursos comuns, com destaque para o conflito que envolve a realiza????o da pesca esportiva nas cabeceiras do rio Unini, ??rea de divisa com a Reserva de Desenvolvimento Sustent??vel Aman??, levado ao ??mbito da Justi??a Federal em meados de 2007. A avaliação de estoques pesqueiros para o manejo sustentável e medidas conservacionistas são feitas através da estatística pesqueira, que demanda dados confiáveis e é, na maioria dos casos, baseada em nomes populares. Entretanto, dados básicos como taxonomia, nomes populares, distribuição geográfica e delimitação de estoques, por exemplo, muitas vezes não estão disponíveis comprometendo o manejo pesqueiro. Assim, esse trabalho une etnoictiologia e análises filogeográficas dos clupeídeos Opisthonema oglinum e Harengula spp. com o objetivo de identificar seus nomes populares e investigar seus padrões filogeográficos, no intuito de delimitar estoques pesqueiros na costa brasileira. No primeiro capítulo, descrevemos a percepção dos pescadores e dos consumidores locais acerca da ginga, que são pequenos peixes costeiros que compõem o prato típico “ginga com tapioca”, patrimônio imaterial do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte. Através de entrevistas e obtenção de espécimes em feiras ou mercados de peixe de seis localidades, em três estados do Nordeste brasileiro, detectamos que ginga consiste em indivíduos juvenis de algumas espécies de sardinhas e arenques, e que a única diferença entre ginga e sardinha é o tamanho, representando a ginga os peixes menores e a sardinha os maiores, às vezes da mesma espécie. O termo é basicamente restrito à região metropolitana de Natal. Além disso, a ginga pode ser considerada uma “espécie culturalmente importante” e, consequentemente, deve estar entre as espécies-alvo para conservação e manejo local. No segundo capítulo, comparamos os padrões filogeográficos dos dois grupos mais representativos da ginga, O. oglinum e Harengula spp., ao longo de suas supostas distribuições no Atlântico Oeste, dos EUA até o sul do Brasil, usando o marcador mitocondrial CO1. Além disso, investigamos quantas populações existem desses táxons na costa brasileira e no arquipélago oceânico de Fernando de Noronha. Nesse arquipélago, as sardinhas são usadas como isca para pesca artesanal, e tem gerado um conflito entre os pescadores e os órgãos ambientais. A carência de informações básicas, como por exemplo, a identidade taxonômica das espécies, é fundamental para o manejo sustentável. Nossos resultados apontam O. oglinum como sendo uma única linhagem em todo o Atlântico Oeste, mas que possui estruturação populacional entre Brasil, EUA+México e Bermudas, e Harengula como sendo duas espécies, Harengula clupeola e H. jaguana na América do Norte e Caribe e uma distinta linhagem no Brasil, que possivelmente possa se tratar de uma nova espécie. Ao avaliar esses táxons em um contexto temporal, revelam que a separação entre as espécies de Harengula do hemisfério norte e do Brasil coincide com o aumento do fluxo da descarga dos rios Amazonas e Orinoco. Com esses resultados é possível observar que, apesar da biologia similar, O. oglinum e Harengula spp. não apresentam o mesmo padrão filogeográfico e devem ser manejadas de maneiras distintas. The assessment of fishery stocks for sustainable management and conservation measures are made using fishery statistics, which requires reliable data and is, in most cases, based on popular names. However, basic data such as taxonomy, popular names, geographical distribution, and delimitation of stocks, for example, often are not available, which compromise fishery management. Thus, this project combines ethnoichthyology and phylogeographic analyses of the clupeids Opisthonema oglinum and Harengula spp. to identify their popular names and investigate their phylogeographic patterns, and then delimit fish stocks on the Brazilian coast. In the first chapter, I describe the perception of fishers and local consumers of what is “ginga”, which are small coastal fish and are part of the typical dish “ginga com tapioca”, an intangible cultural heritage of the Rio Grande do Norte state. Through interviews and specimens at fish markets in six locations in three states of Northeastern Brazil, we found that “ginga” consists of juvenile individuals of some sardine and anchovy species, and that the only difference between “ginga” and sardine is the size, “ginga” representing the smaller fishes and sardines the larger, sometimes of the same species. The popular name is basically restricted to the metropolitan region of Natal city. In addition, the “ginga” can be considered a "culturally important species" and, therefore, should among the target species for conservation and local management. In the second chapter, we compare the phylogeographic patterns of the two most representative groups of “ginga”, O. oglinum and Harengula spp., along their supposed Western Atlantic distributions using the mitochondrial marker CO1. Additionally, we investigate how many stocks of these taxa are on the Brazilian coast and in the oceanic archipelago of Fernando de Noronha. In this archipelago, sardines are used as bait for artisanal fishing, and this have been generating a conflict between fishers and environmental agencies. The lack of basic information, such as the taxonomic identity of species, is essential for sustainable management. Our results indicate O. oglinum as a single lineage in the entire Western Atlantic, but shows population structure between Brazil, USA+Mexico, and Bermuda, and Harengula as two species, Harengula clupeola and H. jaguana in North America and the Caribbean and one distinct lineage in Brazil, which might be a new species. When evaluating these taxa in a temporal context, revealed that the separation between the Harengula species in the northern hemisphere and Brazil coincides with the increased discharge of the Amazon and Orinoco rivers. With these results it is possible to observe that, despite the similar biology, O. oglinum and Harengula spp. do not have the same phylogeographic pattern and must be handled differently.
