- Abstract
The aim of rehabilitation after stroke is to improve the functional performance of hemiparetics. The Group of Physiotherapy in the form of Circuit Training (GPCT) uses specific functional exercises focusing on repetition and continuous progression of exercises in a number of workstations arranged in a circuit format, to improve functional capacity. The objective this study was to evaluate the gait performance in chronic hemiparetics undergo six months of treatment in GPCT. The hemiparetics were evaluated with the 10-meter walking test and Time up and go test (TUG). The results showed see that the therapeutic use has not been able to significantly change motor performance, however it can be inferred that patients had the opportunity to benefit from exercise and increase their participation in society improving psychosocial aspects.
