ABSTRACT The burnout variable has been studied in different professions; however, it presents challenges in its measurement. The present study provides evidence of validity based on the internal structure of the Burnout Syndrome Assessment Scale in Public Security Workers (EASB-SP) and presents the estimation of item parameters through the Item Response Theory (IRT). A total of 10,885 public security agents from all states of Brazil participated in the study. The analyses indicated a three-factor structure, with adequate reliability indices and discrimination of the items. The Professional Fulfillment factor presented a lower theta value to be endorsed. The instrument was shown to be an adequate measure, with evidence of validity for the context of Brazilian public security.

Memristors (abbreviation of memory and resistor), introduced as the fourth fundamental electrical circuit element, remember the electric charge that flowed through it. These nonlinear elements are considered as a class of two terminal resistive devices and offers a lot of possible applications in various areas. In this article, we review the dynamical behaviour of some electrical circuits with memristors. Initially, we show that a simple circuit with a capacitor and an inductor connected to a memristor exhibits periodic and chaotic attractors. After that, we show that the known Chua circuit, with a nonlinear resistance, can generate bifurcations and chaos. Substituting the nonlinear resistance by a memristor, the modified Chua circuit exhibits coexistence of attractors. Another known circuit, the Colpitts, is made of a combination of capacitors and inductors containing a bipolar junction transistor. We show that the modified Colpitts circuit, created by substituting the transistor by a memristor, presents multistability and coexistence of many attractors.

RESUMO Objetivo: A transição de uma economia baseada em produtos para uma economia baseada em serviços é bem reconhecida. Nesse contexto, a inovação em serviços (IS) ganhou força por parte dos estudiosos. Além disso, um grande desafio associado à mudança da centralização no produto para uma orientação a serviços é a estruturação do processo de gestão do conhecimento (GC) para que as empresas se mantenham competitivas. Este estudo buscou identificar raízes teóricas, trajetórias de pesquisa e temas para propor caminhos futuros neste campo. Originalidade/valor: Empiricamente, o estudo apresenta elementos sobre IS e GC ao conceituar, validar e discutir a integração do campo. O estudo também lança luzes sobre as raízes teóricas e identifica os principais temas de pesquisa na literatura. Design/metodologia/abordagem: Esta pesquisa revisou 144 publicações na intersecção entre IS e GC, bem como realizou duas análises bibliométricas – análise de cocitação e análise de coocorrência – e uma revisão qualitativa para criticar os resultados quantitativos obtidos. Resultados: Esta pesquisa contribui para a compreensão do domínio de três maneiras principais. Em primeiro lugar, as raízes teóricas mostraram que o campo é caracterizado por dois grupos de referências citadas: publicações no período nascente (antes de 2010) e no período emergente (após 2011). Em segundo lugar, a metanálise mostrou cinco estudos pioneiros e revelou dois importantes pontos de virada na literatura, sugerindo as próximas etapas de pesquisa. Em terceiro lugar, foram identificados quatro temas de pesquisa distintos: 1. gestão da inovação (innovation management); 2. inteligência de negócios (business intelligence); 3. compartilhamento de conhecimento (knowledge sharing); e 4. governança (governance). Finalmente, os resultados destacaram temas de pesquisa para futuros estudos revolucionários de métodos qualitativos, quantitativos e mistos, tanto de forma teórica quanto empírica. / ABSTRACT Purpose: The transition from a product-based to a service-based economy is well recognized. In this context, service innovation (SI) has gained momentum among scholars. Despite that, a significant challenge associated with the shift from product-centeredness to a service orientation is structuring the knowledge management (KM) process for companies to remain competitive. This study sought to identify theoretical roots, research trajectories, and themes to propose future avenues in this field. Originality/value: Empirically, this study presents elements for SI and KM by conceptualizing, validating, and discussing the field’s integration. The study also sheds light on theoretical roots and identifies the main research themes in literature. Design/methodology/approach: A review of 144 publications was performed at the intersection between SI and KM. The study conducted two bibliometric analyses – co-citation analysis and co-occurrence analysis – and a qualitative one to criticize the obtained quantitative results. Findings: This research contributes to the domain’s understanding in three major ways. First, theoretical roots showed that the field is characterized by two groups of references: publications in the nascent period (before 2010) and emergent period (after 2011). Second, the metaanalysis showed five pioneering studies and revealed two crucial turning points in the literature, suggesting the following research stages. Third, four distinct research themes were identified: 1. innovation management; 2. business intelligence; 3. knowledge sharing; and 4. governance. Finally, the results highlighted research topics for future groundbreaking qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods studies, both theoretically and empirically. /

The South of Brazil is the largest producer of grapes, however this production is affected by climate and herbivores such as phytophagous mites. The aim of this work was to associate the mite fauna with the grape cultivars Chardonnay, BRS Lorena and hybrid cultivars rootstock Paulsen 1103, in trellising and espalier systems, in the municipalities of Bento Gonçalves and Garibaldi, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil. The cultivars were: Chardonnay trellis (Cl) Chardonnay espalier (Ce), BRS Lorena trellis (Ll), BRS Lorena espalier (Le) and the hybrid cultivars Paulsen rootstock 1103 (Pa). Monthly samplings were carried out from November 2016 to April 2017. Twenty plants per area were randomly sampled, from each plant three apical leaves were collected, apical, median and basal branches (60 leaves / area). In total, 6,865 mites belonging to seven families, 13 genera and 22 species were collected. The most abundant phytophagous belong to Tarsonemidae and Tenuipalpidae, the predators to Phytoseiidae and the generalists to Tydeidae and Iolinidae. The cultivars Lorena Ll was the greatest similarity (82.39%) among species mites, followed by Paulsen Pa (72.54%), Lorena Le (70.67%), Chardonnay Cl (31.79%) and Chardonnay Ce (31.48%). The highest dissimilarity among the cultivars occurred between Chardonnay Ce and Lorena Le (66.49%), followed by Chardonnay Ce, Chardonnay Cl (66.44%), Chardonnay Ce and Lorena Ll (61.49 %). Thus, there is homogeneity between the sampled cultivars and the conduction systems and the apical third of the leaves and the sampling period are important in determining the composition of the species.

ABSTRACT: Canine monocytic ehrlichiosis (CME) is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Ehrlichia canis and transmitted by Rhipicephalus sanguineus sensu lato, a tick with worldwide distribution. When not diagnosed and treated early, disease can be severe. Currently, the disease is confirmed by serological or molecular assays. The objective of this study was to compare a serological assay based on immunochromatography (SPEED® EHRLI immunochromatographic test; BVT, France) and a molecular assay (a screening PCR followed by a nested PCR specific for E. canis) for the diagnosis of E. canis in suspected dogs from Buenos Aires city and southern Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina. Blood samples from 20 clinically healthy dogs (Control Group) and from 80 sick dogs suspected of having CME (Groups 1 to 4) were tested in parallel. Neither the immunochromatographic test nor the PCR assay was able to detect the presence of E. canis in the Control Group. In the group which had been previously tested by serology, the agreement between the tests was low (kappa: 0.200), whereas in the group which had been previously tested by PCR, the concordance between the tests was adequate (kappa: 0.650). The concordance between the tests evaluated in the total population studied was moderate (kappa: 0.496). The results of our study suggest that the use of rapid serological tests as a first approach, together with subsequent confirmation by PCR, will improve the diagnosis of CME.

Purpose: Evidence indicates that career adaptability and engagement are characteristics that improve coping with challenges inherent in a military career. Job satisfaction appears as a variable that interacts with both because it improves the maintenance of performance. The objective of this paper is to examine a psychological network (PN), including these variables. Originality/value: The interaction among these is well documented in the literature; nevertheless, it has not been researched in the context of military education. Information on the network can provide important insights for the development of strength-based training directed towards highly influential behaviors and attitudes of students. Design/methodology/approach: The research design was sectional and based on a quantitative analysis framework. A total of 962 male students from the second (n = 323; 33.6%), third (n = 345; 35.9%), and fourth (n = 294; 30.6%) years of the Academia Militar das Agulhas Negras (Aman), between 18 and 26 years old, completed our survey. Instruments included a demographic questionnaire, Job Satisfaction Scale, Career Adaptabilities Scale, and Utrecht Work Engagement Scale for Students. PNs were estimated for the complete sample and also for every academic year. Findings: One of our main findings indicates that the PN tends to lose connections across the academic years, especially considering job satisfaction and engagement items. Aman students might experience a natural process of disconnection from the academic environment and, therefore, constructs showing, for example, engagement for students lose configuration as a graphical community. A longitudinal study is needed in order to confirm differences detected among students from different years. / Objetivo: Evidências apontam que a adaptabilidade de carreira e o engajamento são características que contribuem para o enfrentamento de desafios inerentes à carreira militar. Satisfação com o trabalho surge como uma das variáveis que interagem com ambas, uma vez que otimiza a manutenção da performance. O presente artigo tem por objetivo examinar a rede psicológica (RP) das variáveis mencionadas. Originalidade/valor: A interação entre as variáveis mencionadas é bem documentada na literatura, porém não são observados estudos no contexto da educação militar. Informação sobre redes oferece insights críticos para o desenvolvimento de treinamento baseado em forças, direcionados para comportamentos, crenças e atitudes altamente influentes para os estudantes. Design/metodologia/abordagem: O desenho de pesquisa foi seccional e de base quantitativa. Um total de 962 alunos do sexo masculino do segundo (n = 323; 33,6%), terceiro (n = 345; 35,9%) e quarto (n = 294; 30,6%) anos da Academia Militar das Agulhas Negras (Aman), entre 18 e 26 anos responderam aos formulários. Dentre os instrumentos, é possível listar: questionário sociodemográfico, a Escala de Satisfação com o Trabalho, Escala de Adaptabilidade de Carreira e a Escala Utrecht de Engajamento no Trabalho para Estudantes. Redes psicológicas foram estimadas para a amostra, considerando também a alocação dos participantes por ano de formação. Resultados: Um dos principais achados indica que a RP tende a perder conectividade durante os anos de formação, especialmente considerando os itens de satisfação e engajamento. Estudantes da Aman podem experimentar naturalmente um processo de desconexão de um contexto acadêmico/educacional, e, por esse motivo, constructos representativos desse tipo de experiência começam a perder configuração como um gráfico. Estudos longitudinais são necessários para confirmar diferenças detectadas entre estudantes dos diferentes anos.

The Phylloscyrtini occurs from eastern United States to Argentina and includes 21 valid species. It is a highly neglected group of crickets and little is known about its biology and distribution. Cranistus colliurides Stål, 1861 and Phylloscyrtus amoenus (Burmeister, 1880) were recorded for the state of Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil, and information on calling song, stridulatory file and recognition characters were provided.

Este trabalho faz parte de uma investigação mais ampla sobre a formação do campo artístico de Brasília que procura estabelecer os elementos do processo de educação sentimental dos artistas de projeção da capital federal. Enfoca o desenvolvimento e aceitação do "choro" enquanto gênero musical num contexto de contemporaneidade e numa urbe já denominada de capital nacional do rock. Mostra como elementos musicais tradicionais se combinaram para transformar a Escola de Choro de Brasília num caso bem-sucedido de educação musical. Insere a história desse gênero musical nas especificidades da criação artística da cidade e compara o seu destaque com o de outras áreas da criação cultural. Discute se haveria, realmente, uma forma específica brasiliense de "chorar" e apresenta uma síntese das carreiras de alguns de seus "chorões" mais famosos. Finalmente, apresenta algumas conclusões a respeito da afirmação de que, a despeito de sua curta existência (47 anos), a capital federal já teria se tornado em verdadeira "usina de talentos" e sobre o papel da Escola de Choro na confirmação ou rejeição dessa afirmação.This work is part of a wider inquiry on the formation of the artistic field in Brasilia, which tries to establish the elements of the sentimental education process of the federal capital artists. It focuses the development and the acceptance of choro as a musical genre in a context of contemporaneity and in a city already known as the national capital of rock and roll. The paper shows how traditional musical elements were combined to transform the School of Choro of Brasilia in a well-succeeded case of musical education. It inserts the history of this musical genre in the specificities of the artistic creation of the city and it compares its prominence with the one of other areas of cultural creation. It discusses if it would, indeed, have a specific way to play choro and it presents a synthesis of the careers of some of its most famous representatives. Finally, it presents some conclusions regarding the assumption that, in spite of its short existence (47 years), the federal capital would already become a true "factory of talents" and regarding the role of the School of Choro in the confirmation or rejection of this statement.

Neorickettsia risticii is the causative agent of Potomac Horse Fever, a severe febrile disease affecting horses, transmitted by trematodes species with a complex life cycle. A total of 30 insectivorous bats (Brazilian free-tailed bat Tadarida brasiliensis) were analyzed by PCR for presence of genus Anaplasma, Ehrlichia, Neorickettsia and Rickettsia. Three samples showed positive reactions for genus Anaplasma, Ehrlichia and Neorickettsia, and the sequences were 99.67% identical to Neorickettsia risticii. The role of bats in the life cycle of N. risticii has yet to be elucidated; however bats may be reservoirs for this bacterium. To our knowledge, this is the first evidence of N. risticii in Argentina.

Este trabalho apresenta um sumário dos achados de um projeto de pesquisa acerca das transformações tecnológicas na agricultura brasileira nas últimas décadas. Primeiro, aborda o processo de indução ao uso de novas tecnologias (principalmente fertilizantes químicos, defensivos agrícolas e maquinário) administrado pelo Estado brasileiro. A seguir, mostra as percepções do movimento sindical de trabalhadores rurais (M. S. T. R.) sobre esse processo e a respeito dos seus efeitos sociais, com referência especial aos níveis salariais e de emprego, saúde, condições de trabalho e qualidade de vida. Finalmente, a questão de como os debates sobre os problemas relativos ao uso dessas tecnologias no agro se tornou um novo espaço de politização dos trabalhadores rurais sindicalizados na sua luta política diária pela construção de sua cidadania específica. This paper presents a summary of the findings from a research project about the technological transformations in Brazilian agriculture in the last decades. Firstly, it approaches' the process of induction to the adoption of new technologies (mainly chemical fertilizers, agricultural defensives and mechanical implements) administered by the Brazilian State. Next, it depicts the perceptions which the rural unionist organizations have of this process and regarding its social effects with reference to income and employment rates of rural workers, their health, labour conditions and quality of life. Finally, it discusses the questions of how the debates on problems relative to the use of those technologies in the countryside became a new space for rural workers organized in unions in their daily political fights for the construction of their specific citizenship.

Introdução: as infecções causadas pelos vírus herpes simplex 1 e 2 representam uma das doenças sexualmente transmissíveis mais comuns em nível global e apresentam um amplo espectro de acometimento clínico. A Uncaria tomentosa é uma planta popularmente conhecida como unha-de-gato, cujos extratos são amplamente utilizados por suas propriedades farmacológicas, que influenciam com ações benéficas nas alergias, bem como possuem ação antiinflamatória, antimicrobiana e antioxidante. Objetivo: o objetivo geral foi avaliar o uso tópico do extrato de Uncaria tomentosa na forma de gel 50 mg/g como adjuvante no tratamento e controle das lesões orais e genitais decorrentes da infecção com herpes simplex. Os objetivos específicos foram avaliar a eficácia e segurança do uso tópico do extrato como adjuvante no tratamento e controle das lesões orais e genitais decorrentes da infecção com herpes simplex, através de avaliações clínicas das lesões herpéticas e questionários realizados pelo paciente e pelo médico investigador; exame físico; incidência de eventos adversos; incidência de alteração de parâmetros laboratoriais. Métodos: estudo clínico em pacientes apresentando lesões decorrentes de infecção por HSV-1 ou HSV-2, tratados com o extrato de Uncaria tomentosa 50 mg/g na forma de gel tópico, durante um mínimo de 5 dias e um máximo de 10 dias. As avaliações de eficácia foram realizadas a partir de dados coletados antes do tratamento (pré-tratamento), após 5 dias de tratamento (visita 2), e após 10 dias de tratamento (visita final). As medidas primárias de eficácia incluíram a cura (definida como a perda da crosta dura) das lesões e a presença de dor e prurido nas lesões. As medidas secundárias de eficácia incluíram a presença de edema e/ou rubor nas lesões, e a incidência de desenvolvimento de novas lesões durante o período de tratamento, bem como a Avaliação do Médico, a Avaliação do Paciente e a Avaliação Global de Eficácia. A tolerabilidade clínica geral e a segurança foram analisadas pela incidência de todos os eventos adversos; pelos eventos adversos sérios e/ou hospitalizações; e síndromes de abstinência devidas a qualquer evento adverso; pela incidência de alteração clinicamente significativa nos exames laboratoriais realizados, bem como pela Avaliação Global de Segurança. Os resultados foram comparados para cada avaliação (pré-tratamento, avaliação 2, avaliação 3). Resultados: um total de 150 pacientes foi incluído na análise. Após 5 dias de tratamento (visita 2), 45 (30%) pacientes apresentavam cura total de todas as lesões, sendo considerados como sucesso terapêutico. Ao final de 10 dias e tratamento, 69 (68,3%) dos 101 pacientes que permaneceram no tratamento apresentavam cura total de todas as lesões. Foi observada uma redução estatisticamente significativa na porcentagem de pacientes apresentando dor quanto na visita 2 (p < 0,0001) tanto na visita 3 (p < 0,0001). Também foram observadas reduções estatisticamente significativas (p < 0,0001 para todos) na porcentagem de pacientes apresentando prurido, eritema e ardência na visita 2 e na visita 3. Na visita 3 foi observada uma redução estatisticamente significativa (p = 0,0032) na porcentagem de pacientes apresentando rubor. Não houve alteração nos sinais vitais registrados na visita 2 e visita 3 em relação aos valores prétratamento. Eventos adversos (EAs) foram registrados entre dez pacientes, sendo estes de intensidade branda ou moderada e transitórios. Na Avaliação do Paciente realizada durante a visita final, 70 pacientes (69,3%) responderam à avaliação com pontuação de 8-10. Na Avaliação do Médico realizada durante a visita final, 66 pacientes (65,3%) foram avaliados com 8-10 pontos. Na Avaliação Global de Eficácia realizada pelo médico investigador, a eficácia do medicamento foi avaliada como Muito Bom em 57 pacientes (38,3%). Na Avaliação Global de Segurança realizada pelo médico investigador ao final do período de tratamento, a tolerabilidade do medicamento foi considerada Muito Boa em 81 (54,4%) dos pacientes. Conclusão: com base nos resultados obtidos nesta avaliação, concluímos que o extrato de Uncaria tomentosa na forma de gel 50 mg/g foi eficaz e seguro no tratamento e controle das lesões orais e genitais decorrentes da infecção com HSV-1 e HSV-2, na população de pacientes avaliada.

Este trabalho condensa partes de livro em preparação sabre a configuração do mundo artística de Brasília. O livro partiu de projeto de pesquisa desenvolvido no Departamento de Sociologia da Universidade de Brasília acerca das condições sociais para a criação de excelências nas artes na cidade de Brasília, a capital nacional planejada do Brasil. 0 Projeto tinha como principal objetivo identificar as raz6es para uma presumida fertilidade diferencial para a produção e maturação de talentos em um número significativo de áreas artísticas naquela cidade, quando comparada com outros centros urbanos brasileiros maiores. Ele também objetivava investigar a especificidade daquela cidade que responderia par tal diferencial, se existente e a multiculturalismo encontradiço na composição de seus habitantes e artistas consagrados

This work reflects, from countless conditions of subordination, the multiple violence against dissident bodies of transvestites in the city of Campo Grande, capital of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul/MS, in the Brazilian Midwest. The reflections of this study start from the theoretical-methodological references resulting from a postcolonial perspective and a poststructuralist feminism, which consider that violence against transvestites derives mainly from the fact that they performatize a gender identity distinct from their biological sexes. In order to reflect on these concerns, the present study was based on the collection of data from two procedures: (I) documental research related to cases of transvestite and transsexual deaths in Brazil; (II) five interviews with transvestites in contexts of prostitution, in the city of Campo Grande/MS. Data analysis reveals the set of direct violence (aggressions, beatings and deaths) and indirect violence (discrimination and negligence regarding basic rights) against transvestites in the territory under investigation. RESUMO: Afecções do trato gastrointestinal de equinos podem causar distúrbios de coagulação devido à concentração elevada de mediadores inflamatórios que estimulam a hemostasia e inibem a fibrinólise, gerando um estado de hipercoagulação. Equinos submetidos à laparotomia no tratamento da síndrome cólica permanecem com cateter venoso durante vários dias para a administração de fluidos e fármacos no período pós-operatório e, a veia jugular é o principal local para a implantação de cateteres. Assim, o trauma vascular persistente causado pelo cateter, associado ao ambiente pró-trombótico induzido pela afecção gastrointestinal, aumenta o risco para o desenvolvimento de tromboflebite jugular. Objetivou-se avaliar as características físicas e ultrassonográficas da veia jugular canulada com cateter de poliuretano durante o período pós-operatório de equinos submetidos à laparotomia. O cateter foi inserido de forma asséptica à admissão e permaneceu por sete dias. A avaliação ultrassonográfica revelou o desenvolvimento de tromboflebite em um equino, 48 após o procedimento cirúrgico. Os demais equinos demonstraram espessamento da parede vascular no local de punção e pequenos trombos junto ao cateter. A monitoração ultrassonográfica demonstrou que a cateterização prolongada em equinos submetidos à laparotomia, seguindo o protocolo proposto, minimiza a lesão vascular e pode prevenir a tromboflebite jugular.
