The Paraná Basin is a sediment-rich region in Brazil, its sediments are associated with the Furnas and Ponta Grossa Formations, the latter being formed by Jaguariaíva, Tibagy and São Domingos Members, all of Devonian age. There is a great wealth fossiliferous in this region, with great abundance of invertebrates from different classes, highlighted in this paper Classes Asteroidea and Ophiuroidea, commonly called starfish and ofiúros respectively. These classes include individuals with pentamerous symmetry, comprising five or more arms projected from a central disc. By having fragile and difficult to fossilized bodies, these individuals are relatively rare, which leads to a shortage in relation to the study. In this study specimens were studied from collections and deposited in the collection of the Laboratório de Geociências, Universidade Guarulhos, where he conducted a morphometric study of such specimens in order to identify which class each can be inserted, thus allowing better organization of the material in collection and easing future work.
