To be brought from the old School of Librarianship of San Carlos to the Federal University of São Carlos, the course was one of the pioneers in the country to worry about train professionals capable of handling the information in a very comprehensive, then going to be titled Library and Information Science. Fourteen years after being formed the first class, he felt the need to analyze the profile of the research followed the work of completion of graduation in order to better understand the fruits of that investment in the 'Information Science . " As part of the work to complete the course "Introduction to the methodology of scientific research" class newcomer in 2011 analyzed all TCCs have defended the course and listed references, grouping them according to the GTs ENANCIB. Because it was a job carried out with the participation of about 30 students in a short time, he felt the need to revise and expand the research, and thus generated a second edition of the repertoire, since some studies were not included and classifications according to the GTs needed to be revised. This new edition records 461 papers presented between 1997 and 2011. The ENANCIB (National Meeting for Research in Information Science), sponsored by the National Association for Research and Graduate Studies in Information Science - ANCIB, configures itself today as the main event area in Brazil and has allowed to identify the state of the art area, their research fronts, topics and research gaps to be filled. Have been of eleven editions of the event and during this period the structure was being discussed and arrived today the division into 11 working groups that interact and share research area in the following areas: GT 1: Epistemological and Historical Studies in Information Science , GT 2: Organization and Knowledge Representation, GT 3: Mediation, Circulation and Appropriation of Information, WG 4: Managing Information and Knowledge in Organizations, GT 5: Politics and Economics of Information, GT 6: Information, Education and Work , WG 7: Production and Communication of Information Technology & Innovation, WG 8: Information and Technology, GT 9: Museum, Heritage and Information, GT 10: Information and Memory, GT 11: Information and Health The TCCs were organized thematically according to the categorization of the working groups, however up becoming a science as interdisciplinary, many TCCs could be organized in more of a GT, but for purposes of systematization of references, it was decided to organize them thematically from your main issue considered . With this systematization perceives an alignment among the topics discussed in ENANCIB and TCCs course UFSCar ratifying the contemporary and validity of research in undergraduate Library and Information Science offered by the University.
