This article explores "humble dreams" as a local model of an imagined future, emerging from diverse and historically situated conversations that build common sense and enable people to imagine other possible lives and engage with them in the present. Based on this idea, an experience of social change is explored in the Mezquital Valley, a Mexican indigenous population that, during the 20th century, was described by anthropology as the poorest and socioculturally most backward indigenous region of Mexico. The author focuses on a concrete expression of those "humble dreams": the construction of the cement house, that was installed early on as the main aspiration for the workers who left the region to earn a living. The construction of the cement house allowed and allows temporary learnings related to the link between present and future, as well as forms of belonging to the communities that enable those who "andan lejos" to continue being part of their communities. Indiscipline currently presents itself as an important element within the school space, since the entire school community, teachers, students, parents and management nucleus perceive its presence, often placing it as one of the aspects that hinder the teaching-learning process. The general objective of the research is to search for an explanation about the construction of indiscipline that deviates from common sense and comes closer to a scientific explanation, since discussions on the topic always refer to different opinions without reaching a common denominator. The work was carried out based on the analysis of indiscipline in two elementary schools in the municipality of Banabuiú. As a research instrument, we chose a questionnaire in which, answering the guiding questions raised in the research, it was found that the different actors in the school space still cannot understand indiscipline in a meaningful way, as a construction. We understand this work as a possibility and a proposal for a different view on (in)discipline within schools, and thus seek to resize our actions. This article aims to discuss the relationship that the surrealists had with the real city and, from there, to examine some of the urban spaces they preferred, where they identified possibilities of apprehension that differed from those of common sense. In this regard, this work initially focuses on the surrealist making and on the possibility of existence of a surrealist architecture or a surrealist city. Next, we will have a look at some of the games that the surrealists played about the real city, imagining possibilities of intervention; then we will try to identify the seduction that certain architectures exerted on them, such as the expressions of the so-called Art Nouveau and the commercial gallery (covered passage) spaces. In addition, we will look at some characters and architectures that are close to the values which the surrealists advocate, configuring a writing of dreams. This editorial from Ephata magazine discusses the Theopoetics of the Common Home, which is a concept shared between the UN's Agenda 2030 and the Encyclical Letter Laudato si'. The objective is to think about a theological hermeneutics for this notion of the Common Home and promote a public theology that offers literacy of the religious question to a broader audience. The cultural dimension of the ecological crisis is highlighted, as well as the need for a cultural revolution that integrates scientific, economic, educational, and cultural solutions. Poetry, art, and the expression of inner life are mentioned as languages that can bring together criticism and common sense. Otherness and vulnerability are seen as central categories of an ethics and aesthetics of care. Literature and the arts play a fundamental role in environmental awareness and in the creation of a communal imaginary. Poetry and ethics are forms of resistance to human dignity and can express the ineffable. Down Syndrome is a genetic condition that has a long history of knowledge construction and it is important to understand society's understandings about this condition. In this sense, the objectives of this research were to recognize the understandings of biological sciences students regarding the approximations and divergences of the historical construction of scientific knowledge about Down Syndrome and identify the teaching knowledge mobilized by students during didactic workshops on the syndrome. In the methodological process, we used as analytical process the Textual Discourse Analysis in transcripts of an oral presentation, made from a flowchart prepared by eighteen biological sciences students about Down Syndrome, and the transcripts of two didactic workshops developed by six of the eighteen students during the Supervised Curricular Internship in Biology I. We also used the theoretical assumptions of Tardif (2014) to identify the teaching knowledge mobilized in the workshops. From this corpus of analysis, meaning units were identified, and from them categories of analysis emerged. Of these, in this article, we will address two: 1) Historicity of the construction of knowledge about Down Syndrome, and 2) Understandings of Down Syndrome in terms of biological knowledge. We noticed the heterogeneity in the undergraduate students’ understandings about the syndrome, showing that some of them have understandings based on historicity and articulated with common sense, especially in the understandings of "disease" and normativity. We also identified the presence of limited understandings in relation to biological knowledge about the syndrome, for example, being a gene alteration. In the didactic workshops, we recognized mobilizations of disciplinary, curricular, and professional teaching knowledge articulating theory and practice, and the experiential knowledge under construction, based on the experiences made possible by the internship and that can contribute to their professional identity. With this study, we hope to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge to overcome paradigms and prejudices about Down Syndrome, as well as reflect on the educational process in Biology, providing opportunities for activities and actions that can also contribute to the construction of teaching knowledge by undergraduates. It discusses the relevance of Gramsci's conception of common sense and hegemony, and the concept of ideology developed by Marx and Engels for a more comprehensive approach to the phenomenon of misinformation as part of a supposed 'post-truth' era. Understanding that this process has been instrumentalized by the political far right, it adopts as a possible path of interpretation the debate of authors such as David Harvey, Nancy Fraser and Wendy Brown on the effects of neoliberalism as the material basis of a crisis of hegemony that is also expressed as an ideological crisis. From this background, it questions the current possibilities of counter-hegemony dispute in a scenario in which, unlike what Gramsci described at the beginning of the 20th century, fractions of the dominant classes in struggle seem to 'replace' the consensus building strategy (ever more stable) by producing destabilization and dissent, using disinformation as a fundamental tool. Based on the question raised by Anthony Tommasini in an article of 2020 in The New York Times newspaper about the use of blind auditions in orchestra entrance exams, the article questions the validity and reliability of assessment criteria commonly used in tests and competitions for instrumental musicians. Cognitive biases reflect historical processes and culturally learned behaviours, carry prejudices and collaborate to maintain standards determined by socialization. Although common sense among professional musicians points to certainties regarding evaluative criteria elaborated and judged by experts, such certainties are not confirmed by the scrutiny of scientific rigor, which points to visual interferences, among others, some of them with intersectionalities of gender and race. The text emphasizes the importance of seeking validation of visual and sound criteria for musical evaluation and, since the area has not yet been able to produce reliable evaluation instruments, it advocates for the use of the screen in all stages of the tests. In this article we explore some prospects and problems of the dispositional analysis of colors as a compromise between physicalism and eliminativism. For physicalism, colors can be identified with physical properties of objects, while for eliminativists such as Galileo, colors are mere names for sensations. Going through the ideas of Barry Stroud, David Hilbert and Joshua Gert, we think that the phenomenon of color constancy can be better understood from the idea that objective color is a disposition to produce apparent colors in varied circumstances. Finally, we point out the reason why the fact that common sense does not regard color as a disposition can be explained by a difference between dispositions to produce appearances and the more common dispositions of the physical world such as solubility and malleability. Unlike these, colors, as dispositions to produce appearances, have broad and everyday conditions of manifestation, with a small temporal gap between the existence of the conditions of manifestation and the manifestation itself. The research evaluated the continuity of the production of forest items among agrarian reform settlers in the Amazon, assuming the fact that there are psychosocial obstacles to this production. The population settled in the study received assistance from a federal forest management project. We used a qualitative questionnaire and semi-structured interview script, with 37 people participated. It was found that there are correlations between understanding and acceptance of the project through technical assistance and monitoring of work and that identity and common sense are incident constructs for the consolidation of environmentally responsible beliefs and attitudes. The formation of large landowners took place through the theft of land. This process is called land grabbing and is still a serious problem in the Brazilian land structure, being re-signified and operated in new ways. In common sense and even in academic environments, it is not uncommon to equate land grabbing with land occupation, which is not meaningless since land grabbing is an occupation with certain purposes, methods and agents, which we will seek to delimit. In order to fill this gap, we propose to carry out a wide bibliographic review of the term "land grabbing", in order to find a definition that also includes its contemporary expressions. To achieve this goal, we will analyze a variety of sources: newspapers, magazines, state publications, documentaries, CPI's and CPMI's reports, theses and academic articles that dealt with the topic. It is worth noting that it is less about questioning interpretations than filling a void, contributing to the production of a broad picture. We will limit ourselves to national debates on the topic, focusing on the rural environment, since it is a very extensive cut. There is an author in the sermons analyzed in this paper. Much more, the sermons analyzed were selected based, especially, on a premise: a specific author work, Antonio Vieira. It is undeniable that the notion of author and subject are irrevocably linked. In fact, what common sense understands by authorship is directly linked to the concept of a post-enlightenment subject, already imbued with independence and self-centeredness, with an inalienable commitment to authenticity and originality, as it is understood in common sense the text reflect the author's inner world. In this article, affiliated with the Discourse Analysis founded by Michel Pêcheux, we propose to analyze the short story O homem podre, by Natália Borges Polesso (2018), a contemporary Brazilian writer, thinking of literary discourse as the place where the 'semantically normal world' is suspended and gives space to misconception, absurdity and non-sens. Therefore, we articulate to the theoretical assumptions of D.A the concept of aesthetic revolution, as thought by Jacques Rancière, in order to configure what we call Aesthetic Discursive Formation (ADF), a region of interdiscourse whose prototypical knowledge revolves around the dismantling of the illusion of transparency and unity. The pendulum process between theory and corpus proper to the analytical procedures of discourse theory showed that, in the short story under analysis, the effect of questioning the evidence is related to the equivocal game between the literal, the metaphorical and the metonymic. In the text, the literal arises in the place where the metaphorical is commonly expected, in order to implode the barriers between what would be the 'legitimate' meaning of a given word or utterance and the meaning taken in common sense as marginal. This aesthetic procedure captures the real of the language, always hidden in other discursive formations, which unfolds in a transgressive power typical of the artistic and the literary. The insertion of behavioral theories in courses in the business area becomes the basis for conceptual, procedural and attitudinal improvements for students. Thus, the aim of the study was to analyze, from the application of the Transformative Learning Theory, the predominant aspects expressed by accounting students from public federal universities in southern Brazil. The proposal was a situation/problem, interpreted through content analysis with the help of the Atlas.ti8 software. With the return of 28 academics, there are some gaps to be filled, such as low effort to express their first impressions, short answers without the increase of analytical propositions and the predominance of arguments based on common sense. The present text, taking as substrate the See-Judge-Act Method, aims to analyze how this methodology continues to challenge and contribute as a key to a critical reading of the contexts, especially in the challenge of overcoming common sense and, with that, contribute to overcoming limited and alienating readings. Based on theoreticalbibliographic references, elements of the See-Judge-Act Method were chosen judging their implication with a view to a critical educational process and an evangelization that has as a foundation the practice of Jesus. The paper states a hypothesis concerning Thomas Reid's moderation in his reply to skepticism. It is initially argued that commonsense beliefs, though due to reliable faculties, are doubtful, fallible, and correctable. They are not completely immune to skeptical attack. It is further argued that Reid intends to reply only to one form of skepticism, the partial one - the skepticism of authors who accept at least one mental faculty as a reliable source of knowledge. Reid does not intend to argue with the skeptic who equally denies his assent to the reliability of all faculties - that is, the radical skeptic. This radical form of skepticism is harmless to practical life and philosophy and, for that reason, is not a threat. The article is a critical review of the book "The Transhumanist Revolution" by Luc Ferry. The author highlights important points about biotechnological advancements and the debate about their implications, mentioning institutions such as the National Science Foundation and the European Parliament, investors like Google, and personalities like Ray Kurzweil. However, the author emphasizes problematic issues, such as the selection of bioconservative authors to understand transhumanism and the idea that it is exclusively an American ideology. The text discusses the outline presented by the author regarding transhumanism, highlighting elements such as eugenics, immortality, utilitarian and libertarian ethics, among others. Common sense in legal practice has criticised formalism, as a mechanical attitude of interpretation and application of law, which would not be tuned to the current needs of society. In the case of tax law, however, there is a long tradition of valuing the certainty and the close typicality, which would make the defense of the dignity of the legal rules and the taking of security as a legal right of special protection for taxpayers. This leads to the traditional tax dogmatic accepted, to some degree, the four main theses of legal formalism: judicial restriction, determination, conceptualism and amorality of the award. These theses that constitute the nucleus of formalism are ideas types, because they are not vectors that inform the interpretation and application of tax law in all situations. This article, unlike the tendencies to support and disapprove of tax formalism, puts it into discussion, to conclude a little formalism still exists and is expected in the interpretation and application of tax law, proposing, after all, that tax and Judges are worth what they appoint as moderate formalism in resolving conflicts. The present experience report aims to highlight the importance of university extension, through the description and analysis of extension activities developed by students who are part of the undergraduate courses at the University of the State of Minas Gerais, Barbacena Unit, in partnership with public schools located in the same municipality. For this, the project made use of lectures and discussions held virtually, at different times, with students from different schools in the city' public system, in which topics of paramount importance to the Social Sciences were addressed, such as terms of institutional policy and religious syncretism, thus demonstrating that in pandemic times, the exchange of knowledge between the school environment and higher education institutions is still possible. The results showed that with the completion of the project, the students who participated in the proposed dynamics, either orally, or via Google Meet chat, gained knowledge beyond common sense on both themes developed. In addition, the project proposes to contribute to the advancement of one of the current pillars of the public university: the university extension, while reflecting on the contributions provided by the present practice of university extension in the training of students as future educators. In 1962, in the Rio de Janeiro press, euphoria took over film criticism. In view of the new national films in production, which was focused on social themes, it was believed that overcoming a precariousness existing in Brazilian cinema. Enthusiastic about the process of cultural renewal, film critics started calling it Cinema Novo, suggesting that such a concept encompassed the most varied films as opposed to the chanchada's gender. From a generalist perspective, they would spread an elastic notion of Cinema Novo to include a wide range of aesthetic experiences. However, for a young generation of politically engaged filmmakers, looking for an independent and authorial creative project, the generic notion of renewal meant a loss of substance. In their conception, antagonistic to the position that was growing in the press, Cinema Novo meant exclusively a formal and political revolutionary movement. Also acting in the journalistic criticism, they would install a fierce dispute against common sense. At the epicenter of the conflict, which had Glauber Rocha as one of its protagonists, were the initial definitions of a concept that would become central to Brazilian cultural history. The notion of crisis of common sense on schizophrenia is introduced by Wolfgang Blankenburg through his concept of loss of natural evidence. In contemporaneity, Giovanni Stanghellini revisits and amplifies this notion by proposing a panoramic perspective on this crisis. This paper presents the contributions brought by Stanghellini's perspective, introducing his understanding of common sense and its relevance for the comprehension of schizophrenia. For the author, common sense is understood in three ways: as a knowledge socially shared, intuitive attunement, and cenesthesia. Through the notions of intercorporeality and koinè aisthesis, Stanghellini conceives schizophrenia as an experience of disruption of the habitual relation with the world. Though common sense may identify a house as a home, the two words do not have the same meaning. This article discusses the space of the house as an insecure location for some women, based on the testimonial narrative of the traumatic memories of a woman from Oeiras (PI) who was the victim of domestic violence for 18 years. It addresses, initially, the notion of family arrangements and the myth of romantic love. The article further discusses the love dispositive as one of the elements of identification of traditional female identity. Next, the testimonial narrative and the reconstitution of identity are presented. Finally, the work points out that domestic violence is the result of inequalities and hierarchies between the genders and that the linking of female subjectivation restricted to the love dispositive and marriage, with intense investment by women, in particular, reflecting on what was portrayed in the text, can lead to tensions, violence, sacrifices and self-negation. The text proposes a reinterpretation of the film Narradores de Javé delimited by the theme "the social context and the construction of identity in the sertão of Northeast/Brazil". It addresses the concept of heritage together with culture and landscape, noting the need to distinguish heritage and heritage-making process; considers identities as an accumulation of mentalities and inventions, and takes the sertão as a complex reality. In dialogue with the narrative, history and memory outlined by the film, it reinforces the multiple aspects of the constellation of concepts arising from its approaches, especially, the importance of seeing a continuum between common sense and scientific knowledge through the intuitive stories of Javé and unveil the meanings of heritage, landscapes, controlled spaces, and invented identities for the Northeast. In this article, we carry out a conceptual approximation between the theories of Critical Literacy (Morgan, 1997; Jordão, 2013, 2016; Janks, 2013, 2016; Shor, 1999; Luke, 2000, 2004) and Critical Collaboration (Magalhães, 2007, 2011, 2019; Magalhães and Fidalgo, 2007; Ninin, 2011, 2018), showing the origin of both theories and how educational work based on these perspectives (LC and CC) can provide the education of critical and active citizens who seek, from intentional and informed speeches and actions, social transformation. Through the listed connection points, we prove that both the LC and the CC are theories that seek to combat injustices and mitigate social inequalities through the constitution of subjects capable of: learning from conflicts and living with diversity; to act as political beings, capable of carrying out uninterrupted negotiations; to break with common sense, unveiling prejudiced discourses that exclude and marginalize social groups. This article aims to bring up discussions about the experience and the clashes that football supporters, named here as ordinary, go through in the bleachers of Rio de Janeiro. Based on the interview with four supporters, the aim is to deal with themes that are recurrent in the experiences of women who attend stadiums, perceiving this space as an environment capable of creating and reiterating logics that broaden the common sense that football is male. In this paper, we argue that books materialize cultural values and constitute a field of political and social dispute. We disregard the idea of typographic transparency and emphasize its semantic dimension, in order to understand the use of typography in book covers. Thus, we identified contrasts in common sense gender performativity and performativity present in feminist book covers. Finally, we realized a survey with women regarding semantic values assigned, firstly, to letterforms alone and, then, to letterforms in designed covers of five contemporary feminist books. Based on the survey results mainly made of semantic differential scales, we present the variety of confluences and divergences of interpretations of letterforms. Despite the diversity of results, none of the covers leans towards the hegemonic gender performativity staged in common sense. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The activist perspective has historically been refuted by what has become known as "good journalism", which is imbued with the idea of objectivity. According to what is conceived as common sense, activism ideologically tarnishes news content, a perception also expressed in journalists' publications on social networks. Departing from the idea of subjectivity journalism, we propose here a reflection on an activist practice that does not hide itself as such and that can be present not only in what is understood as independent/alternative journalism, but also in large news companies. This position is argued, among other markers, through a reflection on the field itself, the non-exoticization of the other and the performance of a professional who understands herself as not neutral. We also make an analysis of the journalistic practices associated with a "hacker sensitivity" (RUSSEL, 2017), which can and must be present in addition to the use of technological devices. Historically, women have been relegated to the role of caregivers, breeders, and maintainers of life in the domestic sphere. Even, for a long time, women's education was based on the incorporation of sciences related to care, to the detriment of the Exact Sciences. Currently, studies show the increase in women's education in relation to men; however, women continue to be a minority in some areas of knowledge, which, in common sense, are directed at men. Thus, the objective of this research was to investigate the female representation in some technical courses integrated to high school, Professional and Technological Education (PTE), offered by the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso - Campus Cuiabá, Col. Octayde Jorge da Silva, from 2010 to 2019. After the locus of the study was defined, data were collected in two phases. In the first, the student enrollment listings of the courses were collected in the "Q-Acadêmico" system of the Campus. In the second, data were collected, on the Nilo Peçanha Platform, regarding female concentration in research locus and in other Federal Institutes of Brazil, between 2017 and 2019. From the analysis and discussion of the data, it was noticed that the female representativeness in the courses researched, was lower than the male one. This fact contradicts other studies that show that, in Brazil, enrollment in PTE has been occupied, mostly, by women. The relationship established between the ideas of youth and social change can perform as something natural for common sense. However, in adding the trajectory of youth as a social construction, you can see a contest for your recognition as a legitimate part of life in society, which has been given through complex disputes. Political, social movements, social and cultural favored, warned or inadvertently, the youth's emergence as a social actor from the 19th century, beyond its age ranking. For so much, they are taken as a text reference of David Le Breton, Philippe Ariès, Jon Savage, Edgar Morin, and Luis Antonio Groppo, among other authors, who help us understand the course of the notion of youth over time. This article reveals the understanding of young people as a social problem, articulated with their representations in the public spheres and, on the other hand, shows youth as a rich object of sociological study in the light of the media.
