- Abstract
Introduction: the constant evolution of cardiovascular medicine has provided significant advances in the treatment of various cardiac conditions, highlighting cardiac catheter ablation as a highly relevant intervention. Over the years, this technique has become an effective alternative for controlling cardiac arrhythmias, offering patients the prospect of an improved quality of life. Objective: this literature review provides updated information on nursing care in cardiac catheter ablation, benefiting healthcare professionals involved in the care of these patients. Methodology: the review was based on the analysis of articles present in the PubMed and Scielo databases. Conclusion: Studies emphasize the crucial role of team assistance in promoting safe recovery by addressing pain, monitoring vital signs, educating patients, and considering the emotional impact of the procedure. The conclusion highlights that, although catheter ablation is a valuable option in the management of arrhythmias, its effectiveness depends on adequate and safe performance, with the implementation of rigorous postoperative care and effective management of complications being essential.
