Refrigeration has become an integral part of our daily lives and can be regarded as a process whose replacement is nearly impossible. Therefore, the only way of making this process efficient is by reducing the energy consumed by the components of refrigerators. One way of doing this is to reduce the power consumption of compressor by the addition of nanoparticles either in a refrigerant or in a lubricant. This study focusses on producing nanolubricant (Al2O3/Synthetic lubricant) and dispersing the nanolubricant into R-134a compressor. This study investigates that how much power can be reduced when Aluminum oxide (Al2O3) nanoparticles dispersed in SL-32 lubricant (base fluid). A comparison between SL-32 lubricant with and without the addition of Aluminum oxide nanoparticles was done and it showed a reduction of 0.913% in current consumption and 2.74% in power at the same initial temperature of 31°C in both cases. Hence it can be concluded that Alumina nanoparticles can be utilized to reduce the energy utilized by compressors by creating a nanolubricant with SL-32 lubricant.

Objective: To compare the accuracy of working length determination between cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and electronic apex locator by measuring the actual working length of teeth. Material and Methods: A total of 150 single-rooted tooth assessed by radiograph undergoing root canal therapy were selected. The process was repeated to obtain a buccolingual and mesiodistal section of all teeth. The measurement line was considered from the reference occlusal plane following the center of the canal to the terminus. All information regarding the accuracy of cone-beam computed tomography and apex locator was noted in a pre-designed proforma. Results: CBCT consistently demonstrated high accuracy across all tooth types in both jaws. The electronic apex locator exhibited varying precision, with greater accuracy observed in the mandible. Statistical analyses revealed significant differences in electronic apex locator accuracy among tooth types in the maxilla (p=0.042), emphasizing the importance of specific clinical considerations. Conclusion: Cone beam computed tomography emerges as a reliable diagnostic tool for accurate working length determination, especially in complex cases, while the electronic apex locator remains valuable with careful consideration of potential variations in accuracy. An individualized approach, considering tooth type, jaw location, and clinical context, is crucial for precise working length determination in endodontic practice.

ABSTRACT: This study assessed the adoption level of essential oil extraction practices among lemon growers in the Pothwar region of Punjab, Pakistan. A well-structured questionnaire was used to collect data from 138 smallholders using the interview method by trained remunerators. Descriptive statistics and econometrics; logit and Poisson regression were employed for data analysis. Results of farmers’ perceptions of adopting new practices indicated that 10.1% of the farmers are not adopting any one, 22.5% are adopting any three, and 26.8% are adopting all four practices. Moreover, farmers’ age, farming experience, land holding, skill, training participation, and receptivity proved to be statistically significant determinants in improving the likelihood of adopting all four practices under the logit and Poisson models, respectively. Hence, it is recommended that the provision of an effective package in the form of literature concerning essential oil extraction practices to the doorsteps of smallholders during demonstration sessions, along with adequate professional training, could help in improving farmers’ perceptions toward adoption and strengthening the essential oil sector.

Objective: To identify the prevalence of dental fluorosis in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Material and Methods: Literature search for the present study aimed to include all the relevant studies conducted in Saudi Arabia that reported prevalence of dental fluorosis. A literature search was done using keywords (dental, fluorosis, prevalence) using three databases (Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science). Grey literature was also searched using Google Scholar and research gate. Literature was searched from 1939 till April 2020. The risk of bias was reported using JBI Critical Appraisal Checklist for Studies Reporting Prevalence Data. Twelve studies were included based on inclusive criteria. The only inclusive criteria were studies that were conducted among people living in Saudi Arabia, and studies that reported the prevalence of dental fluorosis. Samples from all age groups that reported prevalence of dental fluorosis were included. MedCalc statistical software was used to perform the analysis. Results: The overall prevalence of dental fluorosis was found to be 46.52%, 95 CI (26.52% to 67.12%). I2 value was reported 99.8%, 95 CI (99.78% to 99.83%), indicating high heterogeneity amongst the finding of studies. Funnel plots indicate the presence of a strong publication bias. Overall, we found some contrasting findings. One study reported prevalence of dental fluorosis as 0% and other with a comparatively large sample size found dental fluorosis to be 90.6%. Conclusion: The present study adds to the literature regarding dental fluorosis in Saudi Arabia by providing an overview of its prevalence. It is concluded that prevalence of dental fluorosis was a bit high. However, findings indicate publication bias. We did not account for severity of dental fluorosis. All the available data was analyzed to measure dental fluorosis prevalence without considering the sample size and sampling technique.

Objective: To assess the cytotoxicity, surface morphology, elemental compositions and chemical characterization of two commonly used luting cement. Material and Methods: The two luting types of cement used were Elite Cement® and Hy-Bond Resiglass®. Freshly mixed (n=6) and set form (n=6) of each cement was placed in medium to obtain extracts. The extract from each sample was exposed to L929 mouse fibroblasts (1x104cells/well). Alamar Blue Assay assessed cell viability. Surface morphology and elemental composition were evaluated using scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy. The chemical characterization was performed by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy. One-way ANOVA and post-hoc Tukey analysis were conducted to assess results. Objective: Pregnancy brings about significant changes in respiratory function, as evidenced by alterations in lung volumes and capacities, which are attributable to the mechanical impediment caused by the growing foetus. This study was undertaken in order to identify changes in respiratory function during normal pregnancy and to determine whether such changes are more pronounced in twin pregnancy than in singleton pregnancy. Methods: Respiratory function was assessed in 50 women with twin pregnancies and in 50 women with singleton pregnancies (during the third trimester in both groups), as well as in 50 non-pregnant women. We measured the following pulmonary function test parameters: FVC; FEV1; PEF rate; FEV1/FVC ratio; FEF25-75%; and maximal voluntary ventilation. Results: All respiratory parameters except the FEV1/FVC ratio were found to be lower in the pregnant women than in the non-pregnant women. We found no significant differences between women with twin pregnancies and those with singleton pregnancies, in terms of respiratory function. Conclusions: Despite its higher physiological demands, twin pregnancy does not appear to impair respiratory function to any greater degree than does singleton pregnancy.

Background. In patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) treatment with CPAP results in an increase of REM sleep and slow wave sleep, but there is limited information about the prevalence of REM rebound in patients with OSAS and possible factors related to the rebound. Objective. REM rebound (RR) and slow wave sleep rebound (SWSR) has been described as a frequent phenomenon that occurs during CPAP titration, but the quantity that qualify for RR has not been mentioned in literature. The objective of our study was to determine the prevalence of REM rebound and slow wave sleep rebound in our sleep disorders center, to attempt to define RR and look for factors that may affect RR and SWSR on the first night of CPAP titration. Materials and methods. We included patients who had both baseline polysomnogram (bPSG) and CPAP polysomnogram (cPSG) studies done in the same laboratory. We included 179 patients>18 years with Apnea hypopnea index (AHI)>10/hr on the baseline study, with an adequate CPAP titration study. We compared the percentages of REM sleep and slow wave sleep during bPSG and cPSG. We analyzed the frequency of presentation and looked for the factors affecting RR and SWSR. Results. 179 patients were enrolled (M/F:118/61), with a mean age of 48.6±4 for men, and 51.6±12.9 for women. The mean interval between the bPSG and cPSG was 45 days. The mean REM percentage during the bPSG was 15.55 percent and during cPSG study it was 21.57 percent. We took 6 percent as our differential point as the results became statistically significant at this point (p:0001). We therefore present our data by dividing our patients population with RR6%. The mean SWS percentage during the bPSG was 8.11±9.68 and during the cPSG was 13.17±10, with a p:0.35 which is not statistically significant. The multiple regression model showed that the variables that contribute more to the REM change are: REM sleep during bPSG (-0.56), bAHI (0.24) and the body mass index (0.081). Conclusions. We suggest that an increase greater than 6% in REM sleep should be considered REM rebound, since 6.15 percent was the statistically significant difference between bPSG REM sleep and cPSG. The prevalence of RR in our group was 46 percent and the variables that contribute more to RR are REM sleep during bPSG, AHI at baseline and body mass index.

In this article we gave exact relations for first and second Zagreb index, hyper Zagreb index, multiplicative Zagreb indices as well as first and second Zagreb polynomials for some benzenoid systems.

Abstract Background and objectives Managing the airway of post burn contracture of the neck has always been challenging to anesthesiologists as it limits the alignment of oro-pharyngo-laryngeal axes because of functional and anatomical deformities that occur as a result of long standing contractures. Here the role of the King Vision video laryngoscope which is the latest in the series of video laryngoscope has been evaluated for such patients. Case report A 35 year old male patient with post burn contracture of neck was scheduled for release of the contracture. As the patient had had fixed flexion deformity of the neck we did not attempt the conventional laryngoscopy. Instead we opted for King Vision video laryngoscope. Conclusion We therefore conclude that King Vision videolaryngoscope can be used for difficult airway situations like post burn contracture of neck.

This study paper looks into the structural integrity and failure mechanisms of washing machine top frames, with the goal of improving household appliance durability and reliability. Critical regions prone to fatigue failure were identified using SolidWorks software. Stress analysis and deformation analysis revealed the failure prone areas but upon assessing the costs associated with designing new molds for modified design and performing the breakeven calculation, we decided to go with an approach of using an alternate material which will not cause any change in existing mold. Polycarbonate (PC) with 50% long glass fiber reinforcement, were investigated to improve fatigue resistance. A new top frame of this material was made along with existing material ABS. Testing on a door simulator machine demonstrated a considerable improvement in durability, with the PC-based top frame demonstrating a 1128% increase in cycle endurance over the ABS counterpart. Top frame made up of ABS broke after 297 cycles and PC with 50% long glass fiber top frame broke after 3697 cycles. These findings highlight the significance of systematic design optimization and material selection for assuring long-term performance and safety in washing machine top frames.

ABSTRACT: Globally, all environmental sectors are threatened by climate change, most especially to the food and agriculture sectors. Pakistan is a developing country that is most vulnerable to extreme and harsh climatic conditions, especially in Southeast Asia. Climate change has often adverse effects on Pakistan because it is often affected by severe weather conditions. Although, some studies have reported on farmers’ perceptiveness regarding climate change adaptation and mitigation, there is still insufficient awareness among Pakistanis’ farmers. Key knowledge is very important for farmers to overcome the harsh climatic conditions for harvesting and saving crops. To bridge this gap, this research discovered the awareness level of climate change, weather conditions, and related factors among Pakistani farmers. Through a stratified random sampling technique, 500 structured questionnaires were distributed among the farmers in four districts of Punjab Pakistan for study analysis. The probit model was used to analyze the farmer’s perception regarding climate change, socio-demographic and economic variables. The findings of this research showed that 75% of farmers are aware of climate change. Perception of climate change between farmers was directly associated with agriculture experience, farmers’ age, land ownership status, level of education, information sources, and access to extension. Also, our research showed that farmers’ assessment of adaptive behavior showed that farmers are actively implementing crop diversification, irrigation, and other adaptation strategies. Results of this study will help government agencies and policymakers in Pakistan and other regions to develop sustainable adaptation measures in the framework of climate change.

Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the relationship among phenotypic and quality traits in a set of indigenous and exotic accessions of linseed (Linum usitatissimum). The experimental material consisted of 151 accessions of linseed belonging to landraces and cultivars collected from diverse agroecological zones. Five randomly chosen plants of each accession in each replicate were tagged, and data were recorded for the 12 following agronomic traits: days to flowering, days to maturity, plant weight, plant height, tillers per plant, secondary branches per plant, capsules per plant, seeds per capsule, 1,000 seed weight, harvest index, seed yield per plant, and oil content. Capsules per plant, harvest index, and plant weight played a direct and indirect major role on seed yield. High heritability, coupled with high genetic advance for plant weight, secondary branches per plant, capsules per plant, and seed yield per plant, suggests that selection based on these traits can be effective. Regarding per se performance, the following accessions can be exploited for commercial cultivation: Shweta (5.41 g), Gaurav (5.07 g), and EX-3-3 (4.77 g) for seed yield; and Shubhra (45.09%), Mukta (44.94%), Laxmi-27 (45.06%), and Shweta (44.25%) for oil content. The chemical profiling of fatty acids obtained in the present study can provide a platform for the selection of accessions for the genetic improvement of linseed.

ABSTRACT To determine the effect of Santa Maria (Parthenium hysterophrous) mulch on growth and yield of soybean, a study was conducted at the Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, The University of Poonch, Rawalakot, Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The experiment was conducted in the laboratory as well as in the greenhouse. Parthenium surface mulch and soil incorporation was practiced at different levels in laboratory as well as in greenhouse. Higher allelopathic potential was found by the treatments of Parthenium soil incorporation, especially when soil incorporation of Parthenium herbage @ 5 ton ha-1 was practiced. This could be because of the presence of soil moisture that enhanced the decomposition of Parthenium therefore, retarded the growth and other parameters. The study showed that Parthenium hysterophrous considerably reduced the emergence, seedling growth and yield of soybean.

ABSTRACT: Weeds have indirect effects on crop plants. Crop development is affected by allelopathy from certain weed species. Allelochemicals from allelopathic weeds can disturb the root and shoot growth of emerging crop seedlings, as well as cause several other types of damage. A study was carried out to investigate the allelopathic potential of Parthenium hysterophorus for weed response in soybean. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with split plot arrangements and replicated thrice. Sowing methods (broadcast and line sowing) were kept in the main plot and mulching treatments (surface mulching and soil incorporation) were kept in the sub-plots. Mulching of Parthenium hysterophorus was applied at the rate of 1.0 t ha-1, 2.5 t ha-1, 5 t ha-1 with control (no parthenium). Manual weed control was also used as treatments. The results revealed that significantly higher shoot length, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, root length, root fresh weigh, root dry weight, number of nodules per plant, nodules fresh and dry weight, number of branches, number of pods per plant, thousand seed weight biological yield, economic yield, dry matter yield and harvest index were recorded with the soil incorporation of Parthenium herbage at the rate of 2.5 t ha-1. Maximum weed density and weed dry biomass were recorded in control plots while weed control efficiency was seen greater in plots where Parthenium herbage was applied to surface at the rate of 5 t ha-1. The results suggested that the use of Parthenium hysterophorus herbage mulching can reduce infestation of weeds by its allelopathic effects and increase the yield of soybean under sub-humid agro-climatic conditions.

JUSTIFICATIVA E OBJETIVOS: Lipoma é uma doença de crescimento progressivo que pode surgir em qualquer parte do corpo. O seu aparecimento na parte de trás do pescoço, especialmente quando é grande o bastante para causar restrição do pescoço, principalmente da extensão, é um desafio para os anestesiologistas sempre que precisam manejar as vias aéreas. Aqui, o papel do Airtraq® foi avaliado no movimento restrito do pescoço. RELATO DE CASO: Relatamos o caso de uma paciente selecionada para remoção cirúrgica eletiva de um lipoma enorme na nuca, medindo 14 x 12 cm, que apresentou dificuldade para assegurar a permeabilidade das vias aéreas por meio de laringoscopia convencional. Para resolver o problema, usamos com sucesso um dispositivo recentemente desenvolvido, o Airtraq®, que é um laringoscópio óptico para assegurar a via aérea. CONCLUSÃO: O Airtraq® pode ser usado para intubação eletiva em pacientes com movimentos restritos do pescoço.

Abstract Calcineurin inhibitors (CNIs) are used widely for maintenance immunosuppression in renal transplant recipients. However, their side effect profile has led researchers to attempt to find safer alternatives that can maintain effective long-term immunosuppression with less toxicity. Belatacept is a CTLA4-Ig molecule designed to block the costimulatory B7-CD28 signal needed for activation of effector T cells. While it has shown great promise in clinical trials, it has made halting progress towards replacing CNIs in actual clinical practice. The BENEFIT trial revealed some of the advantages of belatacept in terms of maintaining renal function after transplant and reducing some of the metabolic side effects of CNIs related to hypertension and dyslipidemia. Despite that, some cautionary signals have emerged as well, in that belatacept-treated patients experience higher acute rejection rates and greater risk for PTLD. Furthermore, the requirement for monthly intravenous infusions has presented logistical and cost challenges for widespread adoption.

The topological index of a molecular structure correlate certain physicochemical properties such as boiling point and stability of that molecular structure. Recently several topological indices have been introduced and studies have shown their association with certain physical and chemical properties of other molecules. Specifically, Zagreb, Atom-bound connectivity (ABC) and Sanskruti indices have been correlated with extent of branching, enthalpy and entropy of some organic molecules. In this study we have calculated Zagreb, Atom-bound connectivity (ABC) and Sanskruti indices (S) for Copper (I) oxide and Copper (II) oxide CuO. Additionally, from the experimentally available data, we calculated entropy and enthalpy per unit cell for both the oxides and compared with Atom-bound connectivity and Sanskruti indices. It appears that these indices have very poor relation with these physical properties in both oxides of copper and they may need some modifications to show considerable compliance as reported in other organic molecules."
