ELECTRONIC data processing , *DATABASES , *PRODUCTION increases , *ELECTRONIC spreadsheets , *HISTORY of education , *CITATION indexes ,BRAZILIAN history - Abstract
The objective was to analyze the scientific production of Paulo Freire disseminated through the Scopus database. This is a bibliometric study that analyzed 1,051 articles indexed in Scopus between 1972 and July 22, 2022. The VOSviewer and Excel programs were used for data processing and analysis. The results added productivity, visibility and relationship concerning the production of Paulo Freire. The oldest article was published in 1972, with an increase in production from 1990-1991, being more expressive rein recent years. Brazil is the most productive country (353 articles and 905 citations), but the United States has the highest number of citations (278 articles and 5,669 citations). It is concluded that Paulo Freire's intellectual trajectory enriches the History of Brazilian Education and from it emanates multiple constructs, which remain in full force and are essential to reflect and practice humanizing education. Eponyms are linguistic phenomena present in scientific language in various fields of science. Aiming to contribute to new themes and objects of study in the field of Information Science, this article addresses theoretical and methodological aspects of eponymy in science and the relationship between eponyms and the analysis of citations in scientific texts. The methodology of critical review of the Sociology of Science and Information Science literature was adopted, through the analysis of classics from the literature of these two areas and of other studies on eponymy through data collection in the Portal de Periódicos Capes. The results pointed out the origin, function and limitations of eponyms in scientific texts, the controversies about their use in medical-scientific communication, the female underrepresentation in eponyms of various sciences, the relationship between eponyms and citations, and the occurrence of obliteration. by incorporation into eponymic texts. It was concluded that the study of eponyms contributes to broadening the understanding of scientific recognition in science, but that its presence in scientific texts is challenging for bibliometric studies due to the occurrence of the phenomenon of obliteration by incorporation and the difficulties related to its identification and extraction in scientific databases. The present study aimed to understand how Brazilian researchers, from 2008 to 2018, understood and defined the concept of the Creative Economy in their respective studies. For this, this study used bibliometric research and a survey in the databases of Scielo, Spell, and CAPES periodicals, aiming to understand (a) the journals that published these articles, (b) the Qualis CAPES stratification of these journals, (c) the years of these publications, (d) the main authors approached in the definition of the Creative Economy, (e) the magazine's areas, as well as (f) the locality and (g) keywords used in the articles analyzed. From the analysis of the twelve articles selected, according to the preestablished criteria, it was observed that the authorship is mostly made by men, the most used reference about the Creative Economy concept is from a specific researcher, and the predominate studies are from the southeastern region. It is concluded that the concept of the Creative Economy, in the analyzed texts, focuses on three aspects: development, culture, creativity, and creative industries, as well as most studies work on the Idea of the Creative Economy related to creativity. The paper focuses on author co-citation analysis - ACA, particularly presenting a proposal to define the selection of authors. Objectives: a) to compare total citation, citation per citing document and author's cocitation with himself, to define the most appropriate indicator for inclusion of authors; and b) to propose a way to establish a cut-off point for creating of the matrices. Two data sets, retrieved from the Web of Science, were used: set A, composed of 17,992 references from 421 articles; Set B, composed of 5,771 references from 151 articles. The citation per citing document is more appropriate to classify authors than the total number of citations and author's co-citation with himself. To include authors whose citations by citing documents reach approximately 20% proved to be appropriate, but authors cited only once, which constitute absolute dispersion data, should not be included in the calculations. Regarding the data in Set A, 180 authors (20.6% of the sum of citations) and 72 authors (20.1% of the sum of citations) were defined, considering all the positions of the references and the first positions, respectively. It concludes by the validity of the proposal for contextualizing the data analyzed and considering the best distribution of cited authors mentioned in the corpus. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article aims to think about the relations between Jean Piaget's theory and one of the structuring concepts of Geography: the Place. In this sense, the research, of theoretical and bibliographic nature traces connections between the knowledge built by Piaget with the contents approaches in school Geography, allowing a reflection on ways of thinking about Geography, mainly for the initial years of Elementary School. The main parallel is given in relation to the understanding that predominates in part of the area of geographic science with what Jean Piaget called the sensorimotor stage, allowing to think in terms of possible school learning. From this point on, we teachers can think about school curriculum as they stand, linking students' cognitive possibilities with the content that is covered in school. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This research aims to present the academic studies that were carried out based on the theory of folkcommunication with a focus on folkmarketing, which is an organizational communication strategy, in the period from 2009 to 2018 (10 years). The state of the art provides support and proves the feasibility of a research. It also proves that the study contributes to the field of performance of Folkcommunication and Folkmarketing, as theories of communication. It has relevance for the academic area, because, despite being genuinely Brazilian, their use is still scarce and needs to be propagated in the field of research, especially in communication, due to its social relevance (studies that prioritize minorities that are on the margins of society). We conclude that bibliometric studies are invaluable tools for the area of information science, as they apply statistical and mathematical methods in order to analyze and build indicators on the dynamics and evolution of scientific and technological information, quantifying the processes of written communication, for journals and for the development of science as a whole. Reflect on the concepts related to the "posthumanism" theme and its approaches by Information Science and other areas of Science. Were analyzed he articles on posthumanism indexed in the Web of Science, Scopus, Scielo, Library, Information Science and Technology Abstracts (LISTA), Information Science and Technology Abstracts (ISTA), Emerald, Base de Dados Referencial de Artigos de Periódicos em Ciência da Informação (BRAPCI) and Base do Encontro Nacional de Pesquisa em Ciência da Informação (BENANCIB) from 2010 to 2020. It is a research with exploratory and descriptive objectives. It is a bibliometric study with data collection and analysis the systematic review with the application of Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyze (PRISMA). The results present a cutout of the literature on the subject and had 33 texts analyzed, gathered in 11 areas, indexed by 108 keywords, with 45 authors of the respective texts and 1124 references, being eight recurrent researchers. Posthumanism points to a perspective where the human loses its protagonism as the dominant being of the universe and begins to develop partnerships with machines, animals and the environment. Posthumanism points to a perspective where the human loses its protagonism as the dominant being of the universe and begins to develop partnerships with machines, animals and the environment. In Information Science studies indicate the concern to understand how the human is preparing to resign the analysis of information considering that he is no longer able to memorize everything. The results indicate that we are in a historical period in which it is not valid to raise questions about what we will do when people become posthuman, because we have already been in this reality, and therefore the studies should be guided by what we can do now to meet the consumption patterns and requirements of these individuals. ANNOTATIONS & citations (Law) , *LEGAL education , *LEGAL discourse , *CONSTITUTIONAL law , *APPELLATE courts , *CITATION indexes - Abstract
The argument from authority is not necessarily a fallacy in law, since it may be an important instrument for the construction of a persuasive speech to be presented by courts. Even though legal scholarship does not represent institutionalized authority, it acquires authority as long as the prestige of some jurists grows through time. This paper is going to present, starting from these premises, an empirical research regarding the argument from authority on the Brazilian Supreme Court between 1960 and 2016, in order do analyze the ways by which the five most cited authors have been used as grounds for rulings. This research was made possible by a piece of software that collected information from the Court's database and then were classified through indicators according to the kind of argument from authority. Therefore, it was possible to observe a very frequent use of arguments from authority in an irrational way, since legal doctrine was mostly presented as obiter dictum. However, there has been a higher frequency of rational arguments from authority on citations to Constitutional Law scholars, hence showing a higher care with legal discourse on this area. It is estimated that there are around 600 million people affected by COPD worldwide, mostly with a history of smoking, with the number tending to increase every year. The symptoms caused by the disease are limiting and may require hospitalization. Medication used for the control and relief of symptoms may decrease its efficacy with the progression of the disease, requiring new responses. Aclidinium bromide is a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA), which acts on acetylcholine receptors involved in the expression of disease symptoms. This paper aims to compare the efficacy of aclidinium bromide over placebo. A systematic review was conducted through a search in the Pubmed, Conference Proceedings Citation Index - Science (CPCI-S) and Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-Expanded) databases, where randomized controlled trials were collected. The research provided 6 articles on clinical trials for analysis, comparing aclidinium bromide with placebo. According to the results, aclidinium bromide at the dosage of 400μg given twice daily has been shown to be efficacious, safe and improve health status. This review has led to the conclusion that aclidinium bromide is effective in reducing COPD symptoms compared to placebo, safe in its use and produces an improvement in the health status of patients. Scientifc indicators arise from the measurement of inputs and results of the scientific institution. Scientometrics develops methodologies for set up those indicators based on interdisciplinary technics from the economics, statistics, management and documentation. The methodologies that are internationally accepted (Frascati Manual, Oslo Manual and Canberra Manual) constitute the classical references to measure the economic inputs and results, as well as the technological results of the research and development. However, there is no international consensus about how to measure and evaluate intellectual and academic production in the ways in which it is expressed in the editorial system, either in the interpretation of its impacts e influences. Defining bibliometrics, scientometrics and informetrics, as well as their scope and application, this paper presents alternative views to interpret current scientometric indicators, which greatly outcome from compilation of the Citation Index, published by the Institute for Scientific Information, and other similar databases. Particularly, an hypothesis is presented aiming at explaining the bias of the Citation Index in favour of the publications that belong to the mainstream of the developed countries, against those publications of similar quality published by Third World countries.

This study aims to present, analyze and compare the results of applying three normalization procedures on the index of citations per document: normalized by the overall mean, median and the mean of the 10% most productive in the area, in the universe of Brazilian science in the 27 areas of knowledge presented by Scopus. From the data obtained on SCImago Journal & Country Rankings for the 27 areas, we calculated Ma, Md and Ma10% of the number of citations per document for the set of countries. Next, for each area, we calculated the normalized index of Brazil by the overall mean (INma), median (INmd) and the mean of the 10% most productive countries (INma10%). It was concluded that normalization procedures present results with fewer biases and are more representative of the actual performance of the area in relation to its peers when comparing different areas of knowledge. This is the major contribution of normalized indicators pointed out by this research.
