STATE government archives , *NATIONAL archives , *PUBLIC interest , *PUBLIC institutions , *PUBLIC records , *SCHOOL dropout prevention - Abstract
Nowadays, private records are considered important sources for research and for the preservation of memory, becoming the object of interest of public archives, when considering the expansion of their collections. Thus, it is necessary to discuss and improve the systems by which these additions are made, in order to make these acquisition processes representative and rationalized. As a resource to achieve these goals, the adoption of a collection acquisition policy brings transparency and normalization to the processes of incorporation of private documents to public institutions. In this sense, this paper seeks to discuss the process and rules of document acquisition by national archives, based on the study of two specific cases: the Brazilian Nacional Archives and the State Archives of Spain. For the development of this study, we divided the research into three parts: (1) theoretical survey; (2) data collection from the institutions object of the study; (3) data analysis. As a result, we were able to identify that acquisition policies are an important tool to regulate the incorporation of private records by state public archives, however, these procedures still need to be improved. INTERNATIONAL markets , *AMBIDEXTERITY , *IDENTIFICATION , *COUNTRY of origin (Commerce) , *GLOBALIZATION - Abstract
Objective: The aim of this paper is to verify the effects of triggering stimuli on internationalization and whether, according to the target population, ambidexterity and mental models (MM) increase the predisposition to exports, as well as whether the country of origin causes differences in terms of cognition. Method: Data collection consisted of applying a questionnaire to a sample of 285 students from Business Administration programs in Brazil and Spain. ANOVA Welsh was used to verify the heterogeneity of variations, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk tests were used to assess normality, and nonparametric Kruskal- Wallis tests were used to verify the results of the previous tests. Main outcomes: The results showed that the strategic MM facilitates internationalization. In the sample studied, it was possible to verify that Brazilians show an operational tendency, with decisions based on logic and an improvised lifestyle, which denotes lower possibility of engaging in internationalization. This differs from what was found in the Spanish sample, which showed tendency to a strategic approach, denoting greater possibility of engagement in an internationalization process. These results may also be used to improve internationalization stimulus programs, considering cognitive aspects. Relevance: There is a low number of references relating the subject of ambidexterity to the internationalization process. This study is relevant for proposing the creation of indexes to obtain data on the MM and ambidexterity regarding the identification of personal motivation factors influencing the entrepreneur's insertion in international markets. Theoretical/methodological contributions: Proposition of a formula for standardizing and rescaling the instruments' value, as the differences between scales may contribute to the inclusion of a hidden dimension of the internationalization process: the analysis of cognition. INFORMATION professionals , *INTERPENETRATION (Sociology) , *INFORMATION resources management , *JOB classification , *OCCUPATIONAL roles , *CONTENT analysis - Abstract
The information sector is, by its nature, an heterogeneous sector. The diversity of the professional environments where these activities occur, the diversity of its actors and interpenetration of their duties make difficult to characterize the professional areas and their names. In this sense, the boundaries that separate the occupations of this sector are not clear. According Abbott (1988), all the professions form a system. In this system, the professions divide their spaces in accordance with the power of that each one. The history of these disputes determines the history of professions. The difficulty in define the field of the information professions is a consequence of these interactions, the uncertainty of roles that these professionals should play in a reality where technological change is very rapid. The term "information professional" covers a wide field of activities with various This paper aims to reflect on the reality of the information professional, evoking the contradictions between the different meanings of the words that describe these professionals from the literature of Information Science from Brazil and Spain. It is based in research on the sociology of professions, following mainly Abbott (1988) and Dubar (2005). The content analysis is based on Bardin's technique, and considers three variables: the names of the professions, their definitions and their competences. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Distinct models of health management reflect the core principles upon which they were founded and their institutional arrangement can lead to the improvement of health policy. This paper seeks to reflect on the potential benefits and limitations of the organizational structure and the social capital to lead to changes in the performance of public health organizations in the quest for enhanced quality of care. The description and analysis of two experiences of universal public health systems, in Catalonia and in Brazil, reveal similarities in the legal basis of both health systems. However, the mode of deployment differed greatly, which gave rise to divergent management experiences. One prioritized managerial organization, while the other concentrated on the importance of the social actors promoting the institutionalization of social capital. It is suggested that models of management with dialogue between an efficient organizational design and citizen participation capable of constructing social capital may lead to change in the organizational culture and enhance the quality of care.
