This paper proposes an initial discussion about the production of automatized journalistic narratives. Despite being a topic discussed in specialized sites and international conferences in communication area, the concepts are still deficient in academic research. For this article, we studied the concepts of narrative, databases and algorithms, indicating a theoretical trend that explains this automatized journalistic narratives. As characterization, we use the cases of Los Angeles Times, Narrative Science and Automated Insights.

Thesauri have been an important tool in Information Retrieval for decades and still are. They have the potential to greatly improve the information management of large organizations, but they are still underused in content management systems, search engines or tagging systems. In this article we want to describe these use cases for thesauri, in which way thesauri have to be structured in order to be suite different use cases and how Semantic Web technologies in the thesaurus management system can help to realize them. The PoolParty suite consists of a web-based thesaurus management system, a concept extractor and a semantic search server, which is completely built on top of W3C's semantic web standards.

Els tesaurus han estat una eina important de recuperació de la informació durant dècades, i encara ho són. Tenen el potencial de millorar considerablement la gestió de la informació d'organitzacions grans, però encara estan infrautilitzats respecte dels sistemes de gestió de continguts, els motors de cerca o els sistemes d'etiquetatge. En aquest article volem descriure aquests casos d'ús per a tesaurus, de quina manera s'han d'estructurar els tesaurus per ajustar-se als diferents casos d'ús i com les tecnologies web semàntiques del sistema de gestió de tesaurus PoolParty poden ajudar a realitzar-los. El paquet PoolParty es compon d'un sistema web de gestió de tesaurus, un extractor de conceptes i un servidor de cerques semàntiques, que està creat totalment sobre la base dels estàndards web semàntics del W3C.

Los tesauros han sido una herramienta importante de recuperación de la información durante décadas, y todavía lo son. Tienen el potencial de mejorar considerablemente la gestión de la información de grandes organizaciones, pero todavía están infrautilizados respecto de los sistemas de gestión de contenidos, los motores de búsqueda o los sistemas de etiquetado. En este artículo queremos describir estos casos de uso para tesauros, cómo se tienen que estructurar los tesauros para ajustarse a los diferentes casos de uso y como las tecnologías web semánticas del sistema de gestión de tesauros pueden ayudar a realizarlos. El paquete PoolParty se compone de un sistema web de gestión de tesauros, un extractor de conceptos y un servidor de búsquedas semánticas, que está creado totalmente sobre la base de los estándares web semánticos del W3C.

Es presenta una proposta bàsica d’automatització i utilització de tesaurus documentals en entorns distribuïts de recuperació d’informació mitjançant serveis web basats en l’arquitectura RDF (resource description framework o marc de descripció de recursos). Per aquest motiu, es revisen, en primer lloc, les propostes d’etiquetatge descriptiu aparegudes en els últims quatre anys per a la codificació de tesaurus documentals. A continuació, es mostra una arquitectura bàsica d’un servidor de tesaurus implementat en Java. I, finalment, es repassen els diversos protocols de comunicació i d’intercanvi de dades entre aplicacions que es poden usar per implementar aquest servei. El text s’acompanya de l’aplicació informàtica que s’ha desenvolupat.The article presents a basic proposal for the automation and use of thesauri for information retrieval in distributed environments, through web services based on the Resource Description Framework (RDF) architecture. It begins by reviewing the proposals for descriptive tagging for thesauri coding that have appeared over the past four years. This is followed by a description of the basic architecture of a thesaurus implemented in Java. The article concludes by reviewing different communication and data exchange protocols, together with applications that can be used to implement this service. The text is accompanied by the computer application that has been developed.

Se presenta una propuesta básica de automatización y utilización de tesauros documentales en entornos distribuidos de recuperación de información mediante servicios web basados en Resource Description Framework (RDF). Por esta razón, se revisan en primer lugar las propuestas de marcado descriptivo aparecidas en los últimos cuatro años para la codificación de tesauros documentales. A continuación, se muestra una arquitectura básica de un servidor de tesauros implementado en Java, y, por último, se repasan los distintos protocolos de comunicación e intercambio entre aplicaciones que se pueden usar para implementar este servicio.
