Current analysis investigates certain aspects of the daily life of different social groups in the National Territory of the Chaco, in northern Argentina, during the period in which the latter had a huge attraction power. It was a consequence of the massive economic processes especially linked to cotton culture and its industrialization. Villages and towns emerged within the Territory in a short lapse of time. They harbored heterogeneous social communities with degrees of adaptation to the new environment. The paper deals with the way they related themselves socially and with the mechanisms linking labor activities with leisure within their adopted homeland. Interviews, depositions, newspapers, memoirs and information linked to this issue foreground the documental basis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
