The aim of the study was to compare the effectiveness of Cissus quandrangularis and Phyllanthus reticulatus poir in healing at induced wound in guinea pigs skin. Were used 12 guinea pigs, male, Abyssinian, with 6 months old and weighing 550 to 850g. Three groups of four animals were created. Once anesthetized, three surgical wounds were performed on each animal. The F1 was treated with Cissus quandrangularis; F2 was group control (saline solution) and F3 with Pyllanthus reticulatus poir. Group I was euthanized on the seventh day after surgery; Group II on the fourteenth day and the Group III on the twenty-first day after surgery and the lesions submitted to histological examination. Were used SPSS®, with analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Tukey test at 5% of significance. The lesions treated with Cissus quandrangularis healed faster and higher than Phyllanthus reticulatus poir. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
