3. Metodologías colaborativas en arqueología: reflexiones teóricas y avances prácticos en torno al patrimonio, su investigación y difusión

Centered around the questions of “whose” and “for whom” heritage is, this article explores various approaches in South America aimed at achieving a public archaeology that is inclusive and beneficial to communities. While the reflections and most case studies primarily focus on indigenous societies, specific efforts to develop collaborative methodologies that include other groups or collectives are also discussed. To provide a comprehensive view, a general review of relevant literature from different parts of the continent has been conducted, synthesizing it to present the state of the art on collaborative methodologies in the Americas, with a focus on South America. The core concepts addressed are heritage and community, their interrelationship, and the diverse ways their connection is crucial today, particularly in terms of collaborative methodologies in various research projects. The discussion highlights how the interpretation and presentation of the past become significant aspects when transitioning from theory to the practice of collaborations. After presenting several previously published examples and the articles comprising this dossier, the article concludes that significant advances have been made in the last decades in developing collaborative methodologies in archaeology. This progress marks a positive path toward the pluralization of the discipline. As an original contribution, the article offers a comparative reflection on collaborative work with communities in museums in Europe and the Americas, evaluating approaches and advancements. It concludes that researchers in the Americas have an advantage: working with materials that are closely connected to the groups that consider them their heritage, or considering themselves the heirs, allows for a more intimate and legitimate approach.

En este estudio se propone una metodología utilizando OpenAlex (OA) para monitorear el acceso abierto (AA) a las publicaciones científicas para el caso de Argentina, país donde rige el mandato de autoarchivo -Ley 26.899 (2013)-. Se conformó una muestra con 167.240 artículos de investigadores del Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) que se analizaron con técnicas estadísticas. Se estimó que OA puede representar entre 85-93% de los autores para todas las disciplinas, excepto Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades, donde solo alcanza al 47%. Se calculó que 41% de los artículos publicados entre 1953-2021 incluidos en la fuente están en AA, porcentaje que sube a 46% al considerar exclusivamente el periodo post ley (2014-2021). En ambos periodos es la vía dorada la que representa mayor proporción. Al comparar periodos iguales post y pre ley, se observó que la tendencia en alza de la vía dorada era preexistente a la legislación y la disponibilidad de artículos cerrados en repositorios aumentó un 5% a lo que se estima en base a tendencias existentes. Se concluye que si bien la vía verde ha tenido una evolución positiva, ha sido la publicación en revistas doradas lo que ha impulsado más rápidamente el acceso a la producción argentina. Asimismo, que la metodología basada en OA, piloteada aquí por primera vez, es viable para monitorear el AA en Argentina ya que arroja porcentajes similares a otros estudios nacionales e internacionales = This study proposes a methodology using OpenAlex (OA) for tracking Open Access publications in the case of Argentina, a country where a self-archiving mandate has been in effect since 2013 (Law 26.899, 2013). A sample of 167,240 papers by researchers from the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) was created and analyzed using statistical techniques. We estimate that OA is able to capture between 85-93% of authors for all disciplines, with the exception of Social Sciences and Humanities, where it only reaches an estimated 47%. The availability of papers in Open Access was calculated to be 41% for the period 1953-2021 and 46% when considering exclusively the post-law period (2014-2021). In both periods, gold Open Access made up the most common route. When comparing equal periods post and pre-law, we observed that the upward trend of gold Open Access was pre-existing to the legislation and the availability of closed articles in repositories increased by 5% to what is estimated based on existing trends. However, while the green route has had a positive evolution, it has been the publication in gold journals that has boosted access to Argentine production more rapidly. We concluded that the OA-based methodology, piloted here for the first time, is viable for tracking Open Access in Argentina since it yields percentages similar to other national and international studies.

Based on the motivation of the celebration the 30th anniversary of the Brazilian Association of Oral History (ABHO), this article aims to systematize and contribute to a narrative about oral history in Brazil, presenting the contributions of researchers from the Center for Studies in Oral History (NEHOUSP), both from the point of view of the academic production made possible and of acting in dialogue with other spaces of knowledge production. The balance presented here indicates work carried out: publications, short courses, events and digital products created by its members guided by the concepts of oral history in its different genres, collaboration, negotiation, transcreation and return. These research paths, theoretical and practical foundations, have guided the work of a research group over the last 33 years, in addition to indicating some of its ways of operating. Oral History and its interdisciplinary development have made a significant contribution to historical knowledge. Oral history is not a branch of History or another discipline, but a methodological practice. This article discusses the importance of this practice for historical knowledge as a source and a living roadmap for research. With 30 years of existence, the Brazilian Oral History Association (ABHO) is the result of the efforts of various researchers, professors, institutions, and academic communities. Secondly, it presents the importance of Oral History for the study of popular religious traditions, analyzing some aspects of the Congado Festival in a small inland town in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. ABSTRACT: Anatomy teaching has been changing over the years, introducing technological methods especially after the pandemic period. An ongoing debate revolves around whether exclusive reliance on technology for anatomy classes, as opposed to traditional methods and face-to-face instruction, enhances knowledge acquisition. This study analyzed the knowledge perception of students from various semesters throughout the Veterinary Medicine course, comparing students who only had online classes with those who had face-to-face classes in Gross Anatomy of Domestic Animals. For this purpose, a questionnaire was distributed for voluntary and anonymous completion, and the responses were subsequently analyzed statistically. The results indicated that 11.5% of the students who took Anatomy remotely failed to apply the knowledge in other subjects, while no face-to-face learning student reported the same. Most students, both remote and face-to-face groups, remember the subject but review the content frequently. Regarding theoretical knowledge, the online group (80.8%) understood better as the course progressed, compared to 59.6% of the face-to-face group. The connection between Anatomy and other subjects was more highlighted by the face-to-face group (30.8%) compared to the online group (15.4%). Both groups agree that physical contact with anatomical specimens is essential; however, some believe that initial exposure through 3D images or photographs is feasible. We concluded based on this preliminary study that the initial interactions with the Anatomy field should include diversified pedagogical techniques with empathetic communication. The use of modern technological resources are allies in the teaching-learning process. Furthermore, after abstracting the contents, technology alone can effectively maintain and update anatomical knowledge.

This research proposes the use of laser scanners to analyse the conditions and characteristics of transit spaces in the vicinity of hospitals, from the perspective of universal accessibility and the integration of vulnerable people. To this end, we use the Hospital Universitario Príncipe de Asturias (Alcalá de Henares, Madrid) as a case study and we continue previous research consisting of the detection of the most important routes that occur in its urban environment and which have served to locate the most stressed spaces in which to develop this work. Through the use of the scanner and its treatment by means of different applied software, we developed a methodological process that allows us to treat, analyse and expose the problems detected in these spaces. With this, we can point out and manage different layers of information that are especially relevant from the accessibility point of view, such as changes in pavement, its width, ramp slopes, lighting, vegetation, etc., all with the precision offered by this digitalisation tool. This article presents the extension project entitled "Drama in the Classroom: an introduction", from the Federal University of Grande Dourados (UFGD), as a bridge between the training of future teachers and the school environment. In this project, the objective was to introduce the process drama methodology into the teaching of Art(s) in a basic education school in Dourados/MS. Seeking to intersect Basic Education and University in academic, school, social and cultural spheres, the process drama "Between Matches and Stars" was created, applied to elementary school classes at the municipal school Arthur Campos Mello. Addressing themes such as death, loss, social class, racism, prejudice, among others, the active and playful methodology of the drama allowed participants in the process a unique, formative, civic and exciting experience, in which the training of teachers in direct contact with the school community was the focus of investigation. It is currently known that problems in mathematics teaching are present in teachers' school teaching processes, official documents, and textbooks. However, is it possible to say that the problems have always been present in educational practices and official documents linked to teaching? Based on these initial considerations, this production is affiliated with the research field of the history of mathematics education. It aims to scrutinize the permanence and changes, at different historical moments, of the meanings and purposes of problems for mathematics teaching from a literature review based on the state of knowledge methodology. From the survey of works such as dissertations, theses, and scientific articles in different digital repositories, it is clear that there have been changes in the conception of problems over time. Between the transition from traditional teaching periods to the intuitive method, the term problems is not mentioned. Subsequently, the term is presented as a synonym for exercises, for teaching arithmetic. In New School times, however, problems became dissociated from exercises. They gained both a teaching support character and are also structured as a teaching method to be followed. Finally, problem solving is gaining ground in research in mathematics education field. In this essay, we present a discussion about the mathematical education of mathematics teachers. In the first part, we highlight notes from some researches that deal with the thematics, delimiting a ground for our discussions. In the second, we present some works that address this issue, which take as main theoretical-methodological reference the Model of Semantic Fields. In the third and last part, we problematize and point out some designs for the construction of others initial mathematics teachers education. One would be an organization of processes of teacher training by activities based on everyday life categories. From situations presented to teachers and prospective teachers, discussions and problematizations can be produced through sharing and expansion of ways of producing meanings, in an attempt to detail differences and not to substitute and hierarchize knowledge, which does not exclude approaches to content considered as mathematical and prescribed in curricula. In the European Union, the escalating generation of waste, together with the difficulties in finding new places for its disposal, have led to choose for incineration as an alternative to the management of non-reusable or recyclable waste, recovering it and generating energy. The incineration of waste, however, generates a series of contaminants that have been associated with effects on human health and the environment. Several studies have analysed the impact produced by energy recovery plants, by comparing the concentration of pollutants both in air and in biological samples donated by the population living near and far from these facilities. A notable limitation in existing research is the scarcity of baseline data on dioxins, furans, and PCBs in air and in the general population prior to the plant ́s start of operations. Such data facilitates meaningful comparisons with post-start-up levels. This article delineates the methodology employed to assess the impact on air quality and public health resulting from the implementation of an energy recovery facility through an urban waste incineration (waste-to-energy plant) in Gipuzkoa, located in the Basque Country, Spain. This methodology includes the measurement of the levels of contaminants in air, the level of exposure of the population by measuring the body load of contaminants, and the concentrations in soil and locally produced food. Furthermore, the health status of the population has been evaluated in both the short and long term, as well as the assessment of the risk from exposure to air pollution.

This study was carried out as a preliminary mapping of Maillard reaction (MR) compounds in doce de leite (DL), as possible indicators for the intermediate stage and chemical pathways in industrial processing. For that, the objective of the manuscript was to developed and validated an analytical method to simultaneously analyze four furfural compounds in DL: 5-hydroxymethylfurfural, 2-furaldehyde (F), 2-furyl-methyl ketone (FMC) and 5-methyl-2-furaldehyde (MF) by high performance liquid chromatography-photodiode-array detector (HPLC-PDA). The method fulfilled the acceptance criteria: selectivity, linearity (0.16-5 μg mL-1 for HMF, and 0.06-2 μg mL-1 for F, FMC and MF, R2 > 0.9974), precision (CV = 1.33 to 2.12% for HMF; 1.57 to 4.34% for F; 0.84 to 1.40% for FMC and 1.40 to 4.18% for MF), accuracy (94.40 to 102.25% for HMF; 92.91 to 108.15% for F; 90.13 to 108.48% for FMC and 93.31 to 107.70% for MF), limit of detection of 0.041 μg mL-1 for HMF; 0.030 μg mL-1 for F; 0.042 μg mL-1 for FMC and MF, and limit of quantification of 0.125 μg mL-1 for HMF and F, 0.066 μg mL-1 for FMC and 0.1280 μg mL-1 for MF. Thus, it was concluded that an analytical method was developed and validated for quantifying HMF, F, FMC and MF in DL.

The general objective of this study was to analyze the contributions of didactic projects to the teaching of Natural Sciences in rural schools, evidencing relations with the theoretical-methodological principles of Rural Education. To this end, the characterization of the pedagogical practice of the teachers researched was carried out, highlighting the contributions of the projects to the overcoming of traditional pedagogical practices. Field research with a qualitative approach was carried out, and the questionnaire and document analysis of the didactic projects developed in the researched school were used as data production devices. The research field was the Manoel Francisco School Unit, located in the rural community of Baixinha, located about 40 km from the seat of the municipality of Sigefredo Pacheco - Piauí. The interlocutors were two teachers of Natural Sciences who work in the final years of Elementary School. The results indicate that the didactic projects contribute to the teaching of Natural Sciences in rural schools respecting some theoretical-methodological principles of Rural Education, among which the following stand out: the valorization of the students' experiences; the problematization and study of reality; the proposition of interventions; horizontality in the teacher-student relationship, favoring meaningful teaching focused on the students' desires and needs.

The article presents a theoretical-methodological innovation by proposing the outline of the Plausible Action Theory, which arises from an unlikely synthesis between cultural hermeneutics and mathematical probability. This synthesis is possible for two reasons: both theoretical-methodological currents accept Heisenberg's uncertainty principle (1949), and both understand that there are multiple causes (explanations) for a given response (explained). They have also overlooked an analytical model of association with more than one response term. Therefore, the innovation of this article lies in the proposition of a model with multiple causes and effects. We will refer to this relationship as the hypothesis of the duality of cause and consequence. Through the statistical technique of Path Analysis, we can construct models, albeit limited from a statistical testing perspective, that do not refute the hypothesis of duplicity, i.e., of multiple causes and multiple consequences related to the social origins and destinies of individuals. Through an analysis of social mobility and using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and multiple independent, intervening, and dependent factors, it was observed that there is not a single answer in terms of social outcomes. We used a probabilistic sample study with information from the Social Dimensions of Inequality Survey, from the year 2008, related to Brazil. We conclude that there is a limitation in cultural hermeneutics and statistical probability in the sense that these approaches do not understand the multiple responses given certain causes, as if the responses were unique or as if they did not change over time and space [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The research analyzed the ways in which the structure and planning of cities, built under a patriarchal context, interfere in women's daily lives. From this, feminism was used as a field of knowledge under which it is possible to build new perspectives on the future and society, understanding it as an epistemology capable of breaking with the dominant design models, whether in cities or strategic design. What developed from this was the proposition of a feminist strategic design methodology, which aims to suggest and present new design perspectives that can transform modes of operation and perception regarding design processes, considering, especially, the perspective of women.

Dot maps are a type of representation of absolute and aggregated population quantities presented in a disaggregated form, with a planimetric/geometric and graphic point layout. While several such maps are developed, the proposed Dot Cartogram (also known as le cartogramme par points in french) is a new map belonging to the graphic cartograms and resulting from the articulation between three Dot Map: the Proportional Dot Map, the Dot Density Map (Montizon, 1830) and the Dorling’ circular cartogram of population (Dorling, 1996). The Dot Cartogram renews the cartographic image of the Dotmap in two directions: firstly, in terms of the perceived patterns, which is likely to vary according to several parameters; secondly, the steps to which it is subject. Our introduction of the Dot Cartogram is carried out on different static or interactive, executable and reproducible media. Its definition is complete by an application achieved on two data sets examined in parallel: population data and the gross domestic product of the countries of the world, both observed from 1950 to 2018.

This article is the result of a research narrative, whose objective was to produce and present understandings about the creation and use of a device that associates cognitive interview (CI) and memory box to obtain testimonies. Two teachers from the Science Club of the Federal University of Pará in the Legal Amazon participated. The application of this device originates or a free testimony and a dialogue, which were transcribed and constituted the corpus of the research. For the analysis of the material, we adopted the software IRAMUTEQ associated with Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA). The corpus was processed, and, with DTA criteria, two categories emerged, through which it was possible to inventory the information contained in the testimonies and infer units of meanings that justify them. We conclude that the memory activator device considerably increases the volume and quality of information obtained as testimonies, contributing in a relevant way to narrative research.

Abstract This article briefly presents the theoretical-methodological perspective of the Network of Meanings and its methodological implications. The aim is to question the use of autobiographical narratives as a possible methodological tool to approach the study of development, with the specificity of understanding processes of constitutive transformations in human ontogenesis, from an interactional perspective, as is the case of the Network of Meanings. We revisit a study based on autobiographical narratives with five adult drag queens, aged between 20 and 39 years old, exploring personal and artistic experiences. Their narratives were analyzed microgenetically and some central concepts of the Network of Meanings were raised - dialogic interactive fields, socio-historical matrix, and temporalities. The autobiographical narrative of the participants constitutes a fruitful field of qualitative analysis, allowing us to approach the processes of change and transformation throughout life. As a result, a dialogue between Developmental Psychology and Social and Cultural Psychology is promoted.

About methodology in the context of Social Sciences, the literature has focused on two main vectors: the differentiation between qualitative and quantitative methodologies and the possibilities of complementarity between both. This theoretical-methodological essay does not intend to deepen the characteristics of the methodologies, nor to advocate any type of incompatibility between them, but it aims to reflect on the extent to which qualitative methodologies are exclusively qualitative and, above all, quantitative ones are exclusively quantitative. For this, it intends to reflect on the following epistemological questions: What is the importance of qualitative analysis in the context of research, especially empirical ones, and in what way can and should they assume a dialogical character with quantitative research actions? What is qualitative within quantitative research? Based on studies of the triangulation process of qualitative research previously developed by the authors, the theoretical-methodological reflection that is now presented in this article, intends to respond to the concern about the intertwined relationship between qualitative and quantitative research. Although in quantitative research numerical results are the main support base, especially in relation to social phenomena, the importance of understanding the data in a contextualized way about sociocultural experiences and the processes of construction of the social fabric is evident, which implies for on the one hand, a dialogue between a subject (capable of reflection and interpretation) and an object of study (reflected in the results). On the other hand, between qualitative and quantitative methodologies. The result reflects the non-existence of rigid limits that prevent an imbrication between the methods. However, in addition to the classic triangulation, it is considered that in qualitative research there is also data quantification, but also in quantitative research, different steps are carried out in the light of qualitative processes. This essay intends to contribute to the current debates on the need to (re)think the usual concepts and practices of the so-called "conventional humanist qualitative methodology" in the light of the epistemological and ontological foundations of feminist contributions informed by poststructuralist, posthumanist, and new materialist theories, named here, following St. Pierre (2018), as "post theories". I seek, at first, to briefly revisit the process of destabilization of the modern triad Subject-Language-Object, heightened by the emergence of post-structuralism and theoretical positions associated with the so-called "ontological turn" underway in the human and social sciences. Then, against the backdrop of a sociological investigative effort theoretically informed by the articulation of new materialist and post-structuralist feminist perspectives, I critically approach the method of interviews, in order to propose alternative ways of conceiving the nature of the relationships established between "accounts" and "experience". I also present the method of diffractive reading, arguing that it characterizes an innovative analytical procedure aligned with the epistemological and ontological commitments of studies based on "post theories". Finally, I defend, in line with recent debates on the possibilities of "post-qualitative inquiry", the need for social scientists to accept the pressing task of "thinking otherwise" (FOUCAULT, 1984) their usual research practices in the light of the challenges posed by contemporary political-theoretical edifices. This article is part of a dissertation, in multipaper format, developed within the scope of the Graduate Program in Science and Mathematics Education at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Academic Center of Agreste. Our objective was to analyze the Mathematics curriculum organizer in the reference curriculum for the teaching of this subject in the early years, within the context of Countryside Multigrade Education in the municipal education network of São Caetano-PE. To achieve this objective, we adopted a qualitative and documentary approach in the methodology and analyzed data collected from the Curriculum of Pernambuco and other sources. Among the results obtained in this investigation, we found that the Mathematics curriculum organizer in the reference curriculum is generic and limited when it comes to the inclusion of mathematical knowledge, without considering specific school context or other cultures. The risk management business evolves rapidly, so actuaries are faced with the need for new analysis methodologies. However, the use of incorrect methodologies for actuarial modeling can have serious implications for strategic decision making. This study aims to introduce the simplex regression model as a suitable methodology for actuarial modeling of data whose values belong to the unit interval. Using a risk management data set, the linear model with normal distribution and the proposed regression model were compared. The evaluation of the models presented concluded by the quality of the modeling through simplex regression, indicating the quality of this method as a new analysis tool for the actuarial context.

48. How to Report Systematic Literature Reviews in Management Using SyReMa

The systematic literature review (SLR) method is becoming more prevalent in the field of management and administration. It is a research method that involves the selection, analysis, and evaluation of the best available evidence in a given thematic area. However, SLR must follow a series of steps that allow its replicability, and it must satisfy several minimum requirements to ensure validity. The present study provides a tool that outlines these steps and requirements. We first examined the instruments that are used in other disciplines along with the editorial standards for publication in journals in the field. Subsequently, we developed a checklist and had it validated by experts using the Delphi method. The checklist for reporting management literature review systems—SyReMa—contains 32 items divided into the following sections: general aspects, introduction, methodology, synthesis of results, discussion, and conclusions. Each item should be evaluated in terms of whether it is present in the SLR; whether it is clear or requires greater precision and whether it is applicable, given the characteristics of the subject matter. The SyReMa checklist will help authors, editors, reviewers, and readers improve the quality and accuracy of SLRs and clarify the contributions they make. It could also be used as a teaching tool for future researchers.

As a mathematics education researcher from India, I try to capture glimpses of a messy terrain named education— or maybe field-notes from experiential tours, humbly inviting the MES community to engage and together become more reflexive towards our collective practices and baggage. This paper would, nonetheless, ask questions pertaining to mathematics education. However, it would not start with asking them, marking them as research questions. In this paper, I would rather try to trace the birthmarks of certain research questions; to show how this endeavour brings us to certain existential methodological issues in conducting and reporting mathematics education research.

For philosophical hermeneutics, understanding is a universal phenomenon, which, therefore, is not restricted to procedural rules or any method. However, the former faces a problem when, on the one hand, it pretends to be a non-methodical way of understanding and, on the other hand, at the same time, it defends some "rules" for a proper understanding. That said, this article aims to elucidate this ambiguity and to show some possible consequences. First, we briefly show the argument in defense of the universality of hermeneutics and, therefore, how the natural sciences would be implied by it. Next, we point to some of the normative aspects that seem to compose the understanding phenomenon, as presented to us by Gadamer. Finally, we conclude that a dialogue between philosophical hermeneutics and the natural sciences is necessary not only for interpretative purposes, overcoming possible conflicts and contradictions of this philosophy, but also for contributing to scientific activity in general, making it - perhaps - more conscious and vigilant about its historicity.
