This article explores the creation of the "Radar in Amazon Project" (RADAM), a technoscientific project developed through a joint Brazil/United States technical cooperation, originally designed for Amazon territorial mapping in 1970 and then extended to national territory in 1975. More specifically, the article discusses the role of humans and non-humans during the project's survey of the country's natural resources that took place during the Brazilian dictatorship (1964-1985), with particular focus on how nature challenged the program. By analyzing original documents such as reports, ordinances, scientific papers, and newspapers available at the National Archive of Brazil and the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, this article discusses the entanglements between humans and non-humans in the formation of the RADAM; in addition, we explore how the project contributed to the development policy set forth by the military government. The paper is divided into four sections. First, technical cooperation between Brazil and the U.S. after World War II. Second, the creation of RADAM. Third, the role of the non-human/human assemblages within the emergence of radar as a new technology. Last, the paper discusses how the state mobilized RADAM's achievements as a pillar of support for the dictatorship. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Micro and small enterprises have a large share in the participation of the national business market, promoting economic growth with generation of jobs and income. Despite the relevant importance of these companies, they face an environment of great threat and challenges. In this context, an innovation appears as an alternative to gain and stay in the market, showing as one of the main strategies of sustainability and market positioning. Given this importance, the present work aims to measure, consolidate and discuss the degree of innovation of the truck bodywork enterprises of the municipality of Itabaiana / SE, considered a national truck capital. Methodologically, the work is supported by a quantitative and descriptive approach. A survey was conducted in which the managers answered the Innovation Radar questionnaire, a model developed by Sawhney, Wolcott and Arroniz (2006) and adapted by Bachmann and Destefani (2008). The results of the research show that the innovation processes in the bodywork factories in the municipality of Itabaiana are still in an initial stage, showing a weakness in the management process and justifying the participation of external agents to foster innovative initiatives. This study aimed to analyze the spatial and temporal evolution of rainfall and electrification of a Convective System, which occurred on March 12, 2012 over the city of São Paulo, during the time interval from 1830 to 1945 UTC. An analysis was made of the behavior of the three dimensional structure of radar reflectivity and lightning type Intra-cloud (IN) and Cloud-Solo (NS), based on two lightning detection networks installed in the region during the RAIN Project, in order to correlate the occurrence of severe weather to the evolution of cloud ascending current, precipitation formation and electrification of this storm. It was observed by the reflectivity of the FCTH Radar images that, at times, the SC showed high values of reflectivity, with over 70 dBZ and indicating the presence of hail within the system. Through the behavior of electrical discharges, it is also noted that these accompany the displacement and intensity of the updraft and through the lightning jump, it is possible to detect in advance whether if the storm is intensifying or not. If so, this storm could possibly become a severe weather and cause serious damage to society. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
