This paper describes a two-day composition workshop dedicated to the toy piano held in 2019 at a state middle school with a musical address in Italy. Eight young pupils in the early years of their piano studies took part. The resulting compositions are shown and indicate that the toy piano is a useful means to stimulate creativity in young pupils. A further consideration addressed is that operating in the educational field means expanding the future audience with respect to new musical languages and means of musical expression. In discussing both pedagogical practise and composing and performing, the author’s aim is to contribute to the comprehension of the ‘toy piano phenomenon’ which in recent years has increasingly seen this instrument take centre stage on the contemporary music scene.

Play is a very important activity for children development and there are evidences that it can be an added value when used for educational purposes. Research about how to integrate play in education points to the importance of teacher role, namely how children play can be scaffold and guided. However, there is also lack of agreement about how to guide children playing and the impact of the guidance in the activity development and competences promoted. Given the characteristics of automata, especially the fact that they include a narrative and a mechanism, they can be used within a play based pedagogy, to implement activities related to plan and construct toys and to promote competences as observation, problem solving, creativity in the STEM areas. To explore this potential of moving toys to promote STEM in the early years of schooling is the aim of the Erasmus + AutoSTEM project. This work aims to describe the main objectives and resources of the AutoSTEM project, including the description of a workshop to construct a toy with a sliding mechanism, the Jelly Bird. The procedures involved the presentation and observation of the toy, detailed instructions on how to construct it, the decoration and the elaboration of a narrative about it. 23 children from the 2nd year of basic education participated in the workshop. The analysis of the prototypes shows that all the participants built them properly. Also some alternative ideas to the proposal initially presented emerged, as well as a diversity of narratives. These data suggest that the instructions enhanced the construction of the prototype, but did not inhibit the creativity of the work developed.

Abstract: The metaphors used in non-poetic contexts are mostly conventional. This study, which is part of a broader research, analyzes the emergence of – and the relationship between – conventional and novel/creative metaphors in Biology video lessons. The theoretical basis is composed of the Theory of Conceptual Metaphor (LAKOFF; JOHNSON, 2002; LAKOFF; TURNER, 1989) and the Perspective of Metaphor in Discourse (SEMINO, 2008). Thus, the general objective of this paper is to verify the emergence of conceptual and linguistic metaphors produced by teachers in Biology video lessons, as well as to analyze their degree of novelty and/or conventionality. The data analyzed came from YouTube video subtitles, and the methodology used to identify metaphors in speech was the MIP (PRAGGLEJAZ GROUP, 2007). The results indicate that creative metaphors are present in the discourse of these teachers and play a relevant role in the presentation of scientific content. Keywords: metaphor; creativity; conventionality; video lessons; textual patterns.

In today's contemporary world, the beginning of the 21st century, scientific and technological changes are accelerating and exponential growth so the nursery school needs to create the means to adapt to this whole evolutionary process of humanity. The objective of this work is to suggest innovative practices for the teaching of mathematics in children's education under the perspective of the child's creativity. The teaching of mathematics in children's education must be balanced with activities that can awaken in the child the creativity necessary to reach the solution of the problem proposed. Given this argument and for better learning of mathematics in children's education, we propose some activities associated with children's abilities, among them, numerical, verbal and spatial. It is hoped that this model of teaching and learning mathematics in early childhood education, through the three skills, is connected with the reality of the apprentice child.

The challenge involved in the teaching of musical composition is somewhat analogous to the issue of reconciling theory and practice; this is when the teacher– student relationship triggers a flow of information that leads to the construction of new concepts that are established by either or both sides. The present paper emerged from a roundtable held at the “The Teaching of Composition at the University” colloquium, which took place at the State University of Paraná in November 2019. The authors did not attempt to arrive at definitive conclusions but, rather, point out directions for critical reflection and practical approaches about the issue of teaching composition. The occasion was also an excellent one for sharing didactic experiences taking place at universities in Brazil and abroad.

In the town of Oñati (Basque Country, Spain) we find the community project of Eltzia: a public initiative aimed at enriching local cultural life through the articulation of its creative people. Eltzia is enlightening for having a model of organisation that can be related to the Basque Country’s cooperative movement, but also for showing the benefits of popular participation in culture policymaking. This research explores Eltzia as an example of democratization of cultural policy through the involvement of citizens; an expression of cultural rights that engages with how law is interpreted. Eltzia emerged from a municipal initiative and its creation was influenced by the participation of the local groups and a private company providing mediation services in social processes of community development. The analysis will focus on the contributions that are drawn from Eltzia in relation to the fields of cultural policy and socio-legal studies. The following is a remixed excerpt from a book-length manuscript titled My Life as an Artificial Creative Intelligence. The book is constructed as a theoretical fiction composed by the “author” Mark Amerika in collaboration with a GPT-2 language model. The book was written as an improvisational call-and-response writing performance with an AI text generator and is arranged as a series of intellectual provocations that investigate the creative process across the human-nonhuman spectrum. Critically reflecting on whether or not creativity itself is, at root, a nonhuman information behavior that emerges from an onto-operational presence experiencing an otherworldly aesthetic sensibility, the author playfully engages with his cyberpunk imagination to simultaneously embrace and problematize human-machine collaborations. Contrary to most contemporary AI research that attempts to build AI systems that perform more like humans, Amerika flips the script and, in My Life as an Artificial Creative Intelligence, questions how his own “psychic automatism” is itself a nonhuman function strategically designed to reveal the poetic attributes of programmable worlds still unimagined.

This article asks whether we can make embodied sense of the Anthropocene, and if so, how we might locate ourselves in a more empathic relationship with the non-human world? By feeling, at the personal scale, the part we play in the natural systems that support life, we may become more able to make the necessary changes in our actions to address the global-scale degradation of nature. I discuss somatic and creative practices that offer tools for cultivating a sense of presence in and as nature, giving examples of artists’ creative practices, including some of my own choreographic explorations aiming to embody the ‘landscape in the figure’.

- Abstract
In engineering education, creativity is valued for being related to innovation, but there are challenges to be faced in order to encourage it in the undergraduate context. Seeking to offer conditions for the development of creativity in higher education, the literature investigates theexistence of personal and environmental factors that can facilitate or inhibit the creative expression. The objective was to identify predictors of barriers to creativity in engineering students, considering personal and academic variables. Three hundred and seventy-four students participated, responding to the Questionnaire for Sample Characterization and Inventory of Barriers to Personal Creativity. Multiple logistic regression was used for data processing. The response variable (whether or not they agree with factors that reflect barriers to personal creativity) was explained taking into account predictor variables (age, gender, type of course, period of course and job). The main results suggest variables like female gender and first year of the course are predictors for the Inhibition/Shyness barrier; and first and second years of the course are predictors for the Social Repression barrier. These results are important to expand personal resources and strengthen an institutional culture focused on the appreciation and development of creativity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this article, the study of community power learning process is introduced. The aim of the study was to build a conception and a substantive theory of adult learners’ group learning. The theory has a dialogue with three perspectives: andragogy, sociometry and neuroscience. The community power learning process builds a close connection with Morenian approaches of using sociometry, peer support and spontaneity and creativity in a group learning process. Spontaneity and creativity are seen as an essential part of adult group learning. Four main categories were found: participation, communality, creativity, and tutoring. The core category was identified as the community power learning process. This study has been carried out using grounded theory research methodology.

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the influence of entrepreneurial passion and creativity on entrepreneurial intent. It also examines the mediating role of entrepreneurial self-efficacy between the personal/cognitive variable and entrepreneurial intention. Originality/value: By stressing the importance of cognitive and emotional variables that may influence entrepreneurial intentions among university students (such as creativity and entrepreneurial passion), this study shows the important role that universities have in the development of entrepreneurial intent. According to the Social Cognitive Theory (SCT), the environment influences individual behavior and, therefore, universities should encourage an entrepreneurial environment, enabling the creation of new jobs and companies. Design/methodology/approach: Data were collected through a survey with business and technology students from a Brazilian university. In total, 338 valid responses were obtained, which were analyzed through structural equation modeling. The data were collected in a cross-sectional manner and by a stratified and non-probability sampling method. To address the research hypothesis and to attain the objectives of the study, all constructs were adapted from relevant literature in the field of entrepreneurship. The structural model was examined in relation to the model fit, which enabled the hypothesis to be tested. Findings: Results showed both a direct and indirect positive relationship between entrepreneurial passion on entrepreneurial intention. Regarding the creativity factor, results indicated only an indirect effect of creativity on entrepreneurial intention, this relationship being mediated through entrepreneurial self-efficacy. No significant differences were found in the model regarding age, gender, graduation program, entrepreneurial family background, role models or family income.

In the early stages of emotional development, the mother can reach such a heightened level of sensitivity that she can adapt to the baby's primary needs. This special maternal state often serves as an inspiration for artistic production when the artist's aesthetic experience is put at the service of his creative power, which is embodied in the creative act. Based on these premises, this study aims to illustrate the singularities of the mother-infant relationship in the beginnings of emotional development through the reading of the work of art through the vertex of Winnicott's psychoanalytic theory, considering the place that art can have in human life. Five sculptures by artist Felícia Leirner compose the corpus of analysis. These works of art metaphorize the development path of the relationship between mother, father, and baby in the wake of the temporal flow that characterizes the first months of development. We also identified in artistic objects the relevance of the environment in the initial stage as a platform for healthy emotional growth throughout life. Instead of using psychoanalytic understanding for the exegesis of artistic work, we propose the inverse movement, in which it is the work that contributes to illuminating psychoanalytic thinking, highlighting nuances that can enrich the understanding of one of the founding themes of Winnicottian theory, child emotional development, suggesting new possibilities of approximation between psychoanalysis and art. The purpose of this study was to investigate how master and doctoral students' assess the extension to which graduate education professors favor the development of creativity in the classroom. The participants were 371 students from public and private universities. It was used the Inventory of Teaching Practices for Creativity in Higher Education, originally prepared for undergraduate students and adapted to the graduate context. The study also aimed to obtain evidence of internal validity of this instrument. The Inventory was valid to measure a dimensionality of three factors: General, Encouragement of New Ideas, and Interest in Student Learning. The third factor did not present an appropriate level of reliability. The results indicated a positive evaluation of graduate students with respect to their professors, as well as significant differences regarding the students' evaluation considering type of institution and whether student works or not.

Creativity is an attitude, human and dynamic, promoting change and development, both on an individual and social level. Although their procedure is individual, their work takes the collective form in a discontinued and instantaneous process, not harming the subjects in the concern of evaluating its impact. Their condition is the climate, the team environment, presupposes the training, the learning of methods, the continuous generation of ideas, questions that, assuming divergent and lateral thinking, necessarily induce the management of their conflicts. In this sense, we try to find, through a group of researchers and specialized coordinators, indications of such management in the teams they have oriented. In order to do this, we used two tests, one about creativity, and another about conflicts, and the statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS-Portuguese version), where we could see that conflict management in creative researchers is an evidence, due to the search for improvements in performance and in productivity, on the part of its members, and due to the absence of conflicts in the studied object.

This article aims to demonstrate that the relationship between entrepreneurs’ attitudes to creativity and business innovation practices is stronger in the case of creative industries. A sample of 454 managers of micro and medium-sized companies (94 belonging to creative industries) was surveyed using an inventory of innovative business practices and the scale of attitudes towards creativity. The results, derived from a linear regression model (two factors for the scale of attitudes - Leadership and Autonomy - and for the inventory of business practices - Performance and Strategy), confirmed the proposition by revealing the influence of the creative attitudes of managers regarding the company's innovative practices, fundamentally on Strategy, especially in the creative industries segment. The innovative manager appeared as a disciplined individual driven to collaborating with the employees. Although this research requires further evidence, the results suggest interesting characterisations of the managers who develop their activity in the cluster of creative industries

This paper aims to review the development of creativity in tourism, and analyses the potential role of smaller places in creative development. In the past, the role of creativity has been primarily analysed in larger cities. In recent years, more attention has been paid to the creative development of smaller cities and regions. We argue that smaller places should not attempt to emulate big city models of creative development, such as attracting the creative class, but should find their own creative mode based on using their endogenous resources, capacity building and bottom-up creativity. In this way they can avoid the ‘creativity trap’ of following generic creativity models and develop modes of creative tourism more appropriate to their size and capabilities.

Despite the rising number of creative tourism publications, creative tourism is still emerging as a recent research area. Its study ranges from urban cities to rural areas implicating different uses for creativity, culture, events, creative networks and the co-creation of experiences. This paper had the goal to focus on the main theoretical subjects of creative tourism as a research area. As a result, the authors pinpoint vital issues present in creative tourism literature even though its definition is still evolving. After a thorough literature review, the authors conceptualised three main theoretical contributions present in creative tourism literature: 1) creativity and its relation to tourism, (2) specialised consumption as a characteristic of the postmodern tourist and 3) the experience economy paradigm and co-creation. This study identifies the main theoretical underpinnings of creative tourism, which made this special interest tourism gain so much importance in recent years

ABSTRACT: The agriculture sector which has gained importance with Industry 4.0 in recent years, strives to adapt to the needs and requirements of the era by stripping from its traditional structure. In this process, it is important to increase the motivation (intrinsic and extrinsic) of human resources factor, which is the most important input of agriculture, on innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship. This paper examined the factors that affect the intrinsic motivation of the agricultural holdings managers in Kirsehir province of Turkey on their creativity for innovation, which is one of the main variables of growth. Questionnaire forms were filled with 312 agricultural holdings managers who were selected according to the Probability Sampling Method in September-October, 2019. Intrinsic motivation scores for creativity (IMC) were obtained by using 5-point scale. Determined some socio-demographical, agricultural, economic and behavioral variables for agricultural holdings were tested with IMC levels. As a result of the study, it was determined that variables such as education, social security status, share of agricultural income, subjective poverty and risk behaviors significantly affect the IMC level of the agricultural enterprise managers. As a result, the measures to increase both the internal and external motivations of the agricultural enterprises managers are required in order to make agriculture more competitive, profitable and sustainable by removing it from the traditional structure. In this regard, not only the economic side but also the social side of agriculture should not be ignored and the potential of agriculture should be used more with structural reforms.

Over the years, information and communication technologies started to be inserted in schools, and with that, gamification emerged as a way to improve the teaching and learning of students, and there are already scientific productions that deal with the application of gamification in education. Therefore, this research aims to present a bibliometric analysis of scientific publications on gamification applied to education. Regarding the methodology, this study is classified as quantitative exploratory. A bibliometric analysis was carried out through a search in the Scopus database, and 210 publications were found between the years 2013 to 2019. The results show that the scientific productions aimed at the application of gamification in education are recent, since data were found from 2013. In addition, it was found that Spain was the country where there is a greater concentration of publications related to the subject under study. The use of the VOSviewer program identified keywords that correspond to the gamification application, showing that its use is necessary to verify if what is being analyzed involves the object of the research study. Thus, it is understood that the publications show that the studies focused on gamification, applied to education, have been growing, however these studies are recent, which shows that there is still much to understand about its application and how this methodology can improve quality teaching and learning of students in schools. SOCIAL processes , *POLITICAL change , *ECONOMIC change , *PROBLEM solving , *CREATIVE ability - Abstract
The present moment of humanity has been characterized by countless social, economic and political changes that are reflected in education. As a result of this process, it must be aligned with the new world order without, however, losing sight of the functions; reflective, cooperative, communicative and creative. In this sense, this work has as main objective to discuss the concept of creativity and its relevance in the development of the fundamental skills in the formation of teachers, seeking to transform them into critical subjects capable of quickly solving the problems faced in the current world. This way, the formation of education professionals must develop their creative capacity so that they become active subjects in the process of social transformation. This is a theoretical study that proposes to offer some suggestions for teaching in order to stimulate the creative process, especially at university. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Creativity is a construct involving cognitive, personality and social aspects. The aim of this study was to construct the Escala de Perfil Criativo (EPC - Creative Profile Scale) and verify its validity. The validity based on its content was analyzed through blind judges, with an agreement rate of 80%, eliminating three items. Evidence of validity for the internal structure of the EPC was investigated through Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), which indicated seven factors. The scale was administered with 442 participants (78.3% females), with ages ranging from 18-75 years (M=38.17; SD=13.31). The reliability through the Cronbach's Alpha produced adequate values for each factor (α=.60 to .75). In conclusion, the validity evidence for the EPC suggests that it can be used to assess creativity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: Introduction: In the context of medical school, the development of methodologies that stimulate the students’ search for learning, autonomy and creativity are essential for medical education in Brazil. The study aims to describe the construction of infographics as a pedagogical proposal for the learning of organic human aging processes by medical students. Method: Medical students attending the 4th period at a Higher Education Institution built infographics, as a requirement for the practical content of the Aging Process module. The static-type infographic was adopted, following criteria such as the definition of the target audience; definition of the objective; choice of topic; selection of the most relevant information (focus); direct and accessible language; organized information; choices of color palettes and style and; infographic sketch. The entire creation process was supervised by the teacher in charge of the project, and evaluation criteria were previously established. Results: The class was divided into seven groups, resulting in the production of an infographic with a specific topic per group. The human aging topics were: Degenerative Joint Diseases, Bone Weakness, Pneumonia in the Elderly, Acute Myocardial Infarction, Vascular Dementia, Atherosclerosis and Herpes Zoster. It is worth noting that in addition to the creation, each group presented the final product to the other colleagues, explaining each item included in the static infographic. Conclusions: We observed that the students satisfactorily met the proposed evaluation requirements, demonstrating their involvement in the construction of infographics and, above all, in simple, creative and objective learning, using a powerful visual tool. We also add that the printed material will be used as aid in the histology laboratory and in extramural activities.

The inclusion of courses in environmental education in the curriculum of health sciences is still limited in Brazil. Then, the objective of the present study was to develop a Creative Presentation for the Solid Health Waste Disposal theme, in order to contemplate an Educational Approach in Health as a prerequisite for the Work Safety discipline, in the Technical Nursing Course. The students created a Poem that describes how solid health waste is classified, how and where each type of waste should be separated and if the waste causes any damage to the environment and/or public health. As a result, the students were stimulated with active methodologies that favor learning and allow the teaching and learning processes to surpass the walls of the school, especially when this exercise is performed by nursing students, who will be future health educators.

This article makes a qualitative analysis of what constitutes the academic work in its overlapping elements and processes. There is a joint analysis of theory and facts based on discourse analysis theory to observe intrinsic aspects that put creativity as an essential product of academic work, and extrinsic aspects necessary to establish trust and dignity as necessary assumptions to achieve its goal. We hope this approach become an available tool to protect creativity against abuses of power and to show how one builds a balanced academic work within an ethical dimension, preventing the construction of a fallacious product.

The heart of our reflection is about what innovates scientific creativity. How are new ideas born? How do they germinate and when ? Can dreams provide the researcher with scientific material of interest? And if so, in what ways? This text is based over a thirty-year period, of a geographer’s experience, most specifically on islands and archipelagoes. He is also a practiced dream writer. There is a continuity and a permeability between daytime and nightime dreaming, and a kind of porosity from dream to scientific innovation. The “island dream prism” nourishes our imagination.

Abstract When children lose one of their siblings, they seek their parents’ emotional support. However, because their parents also feel the loss of one of their children, they cannot provide adequate emotional support for the living ones. Consequently, children have difficulty mourning that loss. This study aims to understand the psychodynamics of children who lost a sibling. The research involved three children, two boys at the age of 11 and 12, and a girl at the age of eight. Individual sessions were conducted to apply the House-Tree-Person Test (HTP) and the Fables Test with the children. Family environments were fragile, driving participants to suppress their feelings and develop symptoms such as learning disability, fear of death, psychosomatic symptoms, dependency, and difficulty in the symbolization process. To express their grief, children need to use their creativity, with the aid of an external environment that offers holding. Such setting allows them to express anguish and anxiety, and to resume their emotional development, despite the difficulties.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to pinpoint some key variables that help shape the notion of older workers as a source of organizational wisdom capital. Design/methodology/approach – Toward that end, the paper reviews a selective bibliography in order to support its arguments. Findings – The evidence garnered throughout this paper – fundamentally through different lens of analysis – suggests that older workers may be considered as valuable assets. Furthermore, a sizeable number of members of this cohort continue, even in the latter stages of their careers, to be willing, well-equipped, and able to enhance, if properly utilized, companies to achieve other patterns of performance. Accordingly, it is advocated here that their knowledge and expertise constitutes an authentic source of organizational wisdom capital that deserves careful attention from organizations to maintain by means of suitable incentives and training. Research limitations/implications – This paper highlights other aspects that should not be disdained by organizations such as career-ending, work characteristics, and mastery-avoidance goals. Thus, companies that are interested in keeping older talents must be attuned to their wishes and aspirations, as well as being proactive by offering tailor-made job-products to them. Social implications – Given the trend of aging workforce, it is likely that organizations will be increasingly impacted by societal demands and public policies toward benefiting and respecting older talents. Originality/value – This paper advocates that older workers are usually living memories of organizational life. Rather, they tend to keep in their minds those failures and successful ideas, projects, initiatives, and leaderships, which added or not value throughout their trajectories, as well as things that worked out or not. Fundamentally, they are able to provide answers to vital questions.

Guitarist Roland Dyens (1955-2016) has had a distinguished position in the classical guitar world. His performances, compositions and arrangements are recognized and admired all over the world, as well as his pedagogical activity. The same applies to guitarist Sérgio Assad (b.1952). The present paper aims to demonstrate the innovations and the complexities of the solutions present in their arrangements for solo guitar, particularly the work Verano Porteño by Piazzolla, originally composed for the Tango Nuevo quintet of the composer. We compared the arrangements between themselves and also with other arrangements of the same work. We also used interviews that we encountered and others that we conducted with the arrangers. The concepts of complexity of Edgar Morin and creativity of Csikszentmihalyi were used to frame the analysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The aim of the present study was to search for evidence of validity based on external convergent-like variables for a subtest to assess figural creativity, part of a Battery for Assessment of High Abilities/Giftedness (BAAH/S). The sample consisted of 114 students of the 2nd year (n = 15) and 3rd year (n = 99) of high school, aged between 15 and 20 years (M = 17; SD = 0.85), 52 male, coming from a public school. Participants completed the Children's Figural Creativity Test (TCFI) and the Completing Figures Subtest (in validation process). Through the Pearson Correlation, factors that evaluate similar creative aspects showed positive and significant correlations (r = 0.64 between emotional factors; r = 0.60 between cognitive factors; r = 0.56 between enrichment factors ideas), indicating convergence between measures. The correlation between the isolated creative characteristics evaluated in both tests was mostly significant, with values ranging between r = 0.21 and r = 0.61. These results make it possible to confirm positive evidences of validity for the developing subtest. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The conception of creativity may be influenced by laypeople's opinions and cultural contexts. This study aimed to replicate a study by Bass et al. (2015) with students from the Netherlands about the opinion of facilitating conditions of creativity among lay people, comparing them with Brazilian students. The Brazilian sample consisted of 296 undergraduate students (F = 83%), average age of 24,5 years (SD = 7.73) who did not have any creativity course. The study from the Netherlands consisted of 176 undergraduate students (F = 73.9%) with an average age of 20 years (SD = 5.0). The Brazilian participants answered a questionnaire designed to evaluate the same areas of the Dutch study on situations that favor creativity. The responses compared by t-Student and factor analysis showed differences between countries, with Brazilians giving greater importance to relaxing activities and traveling unlike the Dutch who preferred concentrated activities and being alone. The study concludes that there are cultural influences in the conceptions of creativity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The research objective was to investigate the meanings that 5th grade students from a public school in Ribeirão Preto, state of São Paulo, give to the textual production that enables polysemy, creativity and authorship. Conversation circles were held with the students to know their relationships with written textual production and with the school. Pêcheux's Discourse Analysis guided the data analysis through concepts such as subjectivity, discourse, ideology, discursive memory and authorship. The results point out that the discourses produced by the students about writing often rely on dominant social discourses; when they rely on their own subjectivities, they become closer to polysemy and creativity.
