RBE enable the organazation of school libraries, wiche ensure the free acess to the learning resources and the development of users's literacies. For that, the PB, a qualified teacher is the basis of this structure. Their functions and the legal regulations require constasnt updating, that is, specialized and continuos training. In this context, this paper aims to reflect on PB' function, training and assessment. To do that, the research follows a qualitative analytical methodology, using a content analysis to the legislation. The cross-referencing categories in legislation semms to indicate that the determinations of one legal paper is not reflected in the other legal paper. Therefore, it is concluded that there are inconsistencies and a gap in the assessment of the PB, consequently, another evaluative model is needed.

In the context of contemporary research, research data ceases to be mere by-products of research activities and resurgence as protagonists in the search for new knowledge. This example is driven by the digital technologies that create conditions for the emergence of a large volume of data, the scientific process and the research process based on the collection, generation, processing and analysis of mass data of the databases. Researchers, academic institutions, policy makers, and development agencies initiate what research data is managed and the informational resources that can be shared and reused as input for further research. However, the data, different from the publications, are heterogeneous, diversified, generated for different purposes, by different technologies and in specific disciplinary domains. It is observed that there are terminological gaps that make information management difficult. From this point, the present paper accepts the challenge of evaluating the taxonomy for the classification of research data types, the anchoring in the theoretical-methodological approach of the Knowledge Organization.

Comics are informational resources that have been gaining prominence in cultural heritage institutions. Cataloging is able, through processes, instruments and products, to guarantee and expand the forms of retrieval and access to informational resources. This research, with a qualitative approach, theoretical and exploratory character, aims to analyze the metadata for cataloging comic books and discusses, in the results, the metadata identified from the literature mapping. It is concluded that the metadata standards turn to the data structure instead of the comic book content and that, in most cases, the fields described do not meet the particularities of the institutions.

An accurate representation of documents is fundamental for the effectiveness of information retrieval, being the subject analysis process a key step for it. In this sense, measuring the descriptors that represent scientific knowledge is quintessential to electronic journals. This paper analyzes the use of descriptors for the organization and retrieval of academic papers from 2013 published in two scientific journals: JASIST and Scientometrics. Following an exploratory-descriptive study with a mixed-method approach, data collected were recorded in a database developed in MS Access. Main findings showed that the amount of authors did not influence the number of descriptors found in articles, since several articles written by various authors did not present the allocation descriptors. Meanwhile, other articles with a single author had several descriptors. The study concludes that the two journals under study are relevant for the Information Science field; however, results noted the absence of criteria and rigor especially with regard to the compliance of the journals’ guidelines. Results suggest some negligence from authors with respect to their articles descriptors, which directly affects the retrieval and access of thematic content.

Recent studies have shown that Brazilian and international development agencies have included initiatives for funded research projects to present a scientific data management plan for open access sharing. In order to investigate this issue, research has been developed with the following objectives: a) to identify the main Brazilian research funders; b) to identify if there are institutional policies for open scientific data; c) to analyze policies regarding their character (mandatory or recommended), coverage and support. It is an exploratory-descriptive, qualitative study that is supported by bibliographic and documentary research. The data from the institutions that promote research in Brazil was recovered through the extraction of information from the Lattes Platform, using the scriptLattes tool . As a result, 15 national and 15 international agencies that promote research in Brazil were selected. Information on Open Data Policy or instruction was located in five of the national agencies. This information was found in nine of the international agencies. A criteria framework was used as a model analyzing UK funders coverage of open data policies, which was made available by the Digital Curation Centre (DCC) on its electronic portal. The model used in the applied study addressed characterization aspects of Agencies that promote research developed by Brazilian researchers. Its adaptation to different realities and/or objectives will depend on the introduction of other variables that act on the interactions according to the study's interest.

After 350 years of the discovery of scientific journals former, the area of scientific communication accompanied the global transformation of related information technology to periodicals, blunting considerably in public institutions such as universities. So you can see that the electronic journals alone already operate major changes in research environments, building a link between practice and theory in scientific articles referenced. This paper aims to present the criteria and methodological procedures that were used to build the Portal of Scientific Journals Electronics (PPEC) at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) throughout the life of its 50 years of creation. In consonance of this implantation the PPEC had great results as the participation in the Brazilian Network of Digital Preservation Cariniana, being full partner network, acquisition of DOI for all journals linked to the Portal, and recognition as a portal for indexing by having the OAI -PMH, the freshmen publications of the University Portal.

The context of the paper is a PhD research in medieval history, focused on landscape and settlement in NW Portugal, from the 9th to the 11th century. To solve the problem of organizing a large volume of data and guarantee flexibility in analyzing it the tool chosen has been a relational database. This paper’s purpose is to discuss the process of designing such a database, present its results and draw some conclusions on the generality of the method. The organization of the information will be presented through the final design of the database model and by an explanation of its main constituents. Some details pertaining to the historical research needs will be highlighted. Besides the organization of the data, a significant effort has been devoted to find clear ways to communicate it. Some of the resulting interfaces will be shown, as well as some example statistics already obtained from the database. The territorial entities have been geo-referenced wherever possible so it has been possible to automatically feed the corresponding cartography. A final result is the integration of the database in an institutional data repository to make it openly available to the research community.

In the field of scientific production and sharing in the digital environment, both the scientific communication system and the peer review model have been the subject of a broad debate, providing new challenges, such as the development of alternatives for creation, evaluation and dissemination of scientific knowledge. The Open Science Movement, which promotes open access to scientific knowledge, contributed to the emergence of the Open Peer Review, which follows models characterized by the need to identify the reviewers and their revisions or by the need for parties' consent (authors and revisions) for the disclosure of their identities. The objective of this research is to identify and characterize the participation of Brazilian researchers in Health and Life Sciences in this format of peer review. This descriptive and exploratory research has as source of information the F1000Research platform that adopts the Open Peer Review model and is dedicated to the specific themes of Health and Life Sciences. In order to do so, a search in the platform with the term "Brazil" in the "Author Affiliation" and "Referee Affiliation" fields. Of the total of 1,660 documents indexed in the database at the date of the survey, only 1.8% documents (n = 30) consisted of at least one author of a Brazilian institution and 2.2% documents (n = 38) were reviewed by at least one researcher, thus establishing the corpus of this research. It was verified that although the Platform receives the submission of unconventional typologies published in scientific journals, such as slides, for example, 73.33% of the documents (n = 22) correspond to the category of articles. Regarding the institution of the Brazilian authors, the presence of educational institutions, companies, hospitals and federal agencies such as the Ministry of Health stands out, for example. The Southeastern region of the country is the most representative with 68% (n = 17) of the institutions. Some of the identified educational institutions are internationally recognized such as, for example, the University of São Paulo, the Federal University of São Paulo, the Federal University of São Carlos, the University of Campinas and the Federal University of Minas Gerais. As to authorship, 6.6% of the texts (n = 2) are single authored, 40% (n = 12) are shared authors with authors only related to Brazilian institutions and 53.4% (n = 16) are authored jointly with international authors. Analyzing the reviewers from Brazilian institutions, 38% (n = 19) are from the University of São Paulo. Although most revisions are single authored, some documents have also appeared in co-authorship in theirs reviews, which is a novelty in signing revisions. The F1000Research platform allows the complete monitoring of the publishing process, with access to the revision reports and modifications made in the original text, from the comments received. Another advantage of the platform is the possibility of training new reviewers. The low adhesion to the platform, however, compromises its representativeness for studies of scientific communication in the mainstream system, although it is an initiative that allows in-depth studies on adherence to this new alternative to the scientific communication process.

Brazilian journals in Information Science typically depend on semi-voluntary work, with scarce resources. The inclusion of some of these journals in reputable databases gives them status and attracts more and more submissions, without resource escalability. This article explores this context through a system dynamics model that represents article stocks and flows throughout the editorial process. We run four alternative scenarios, with different quantities of submissions, with or without interventions (closing for new submissions and sharp increase of desk rejections). In these scenarios, a 50% increase in submissions leads to a total evaluation time of about 19 months, regardless of interventions that alleviate the overhead only momentarily. Few overburdened editors support the continuity of the system.

Considering catalog as a communication channel between user and library collection, this paper aims to demonstrate the importance of authority control for objectives and functions of catalogs. The paper presents authority control and authority work definitions and introduces the objectives and functions of the catalog defined by Charles Ammi Cutter, Eva Verona, Ákos Domanovszky, Seymour Lubetzky and Elaine Svenonius, as well as those presented in Paris Principles, in Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR) and in Statement of International Cataloguing Principles. The findings expose that definitions of the objectives and functions of the catalog, elaborated and reviewed several times in history of cataloging, contain vestiges of finding and collocating objectives firstly defined by Charles Ammi Cutter, and such objectives requires authority control. This paper concludes that authority control is an important component for catalogs, since authority control assures the finding and collocating objectives achievement without the need of user knows about all names of entity sought. In the current digital information environments, studies on authority control obtain increasingly importance, because accuracy and disambiguation, characteristics enabled by authority control, are essentials. Studies on authority control transposed to the Web get a higher proportion becoming important contributions to the Web and, especially, to the Semantic Web efforts and projects.

Information is a major resource to the functioning and survival of organizations. Today, in the top of value creation we find the intangible assets based on information and knowledge. In the actual economy, richness is created based on value from knowledge and innovative ideas. Organizations need information to compete in the global environment, to innovate and obtain competitive advantages in their activities. There are about 350 academic research units financed by the Science and Technology Foundation (STF) of the Science, Technology and Superior Education. The grants depend on external evaluation. This work paper analyzes and characterizes the academic research centers with special focus on Science, Technology and Medicine. Those are the principal creators of scientific and technical knowledge in Portugal, pushing business creation and being engines of social and economical development. We checked the data regarding 2007 evaluation from the STF and developed a questionnaire to understand the information sources used in R&D in Portugal. We found that Internet and WWW became the principal platform to access information by researchers, except for technical books that continue to be preferred in paper format.

The operative concept of paradigm, in spite of its immoderate use and semantic worn out, is quite useful and necessary inside a comprehensive epistemology of the scientific field of Information/Documentation. And through this concept it is easy to understand the evolution of the professional practice and the concerning techniques, not only related to libraries, but also to archives and even to museums. But, for that, it is needed to fix the degree of semantic proximity of the concept relatively to the original conception of the north-American physician and science historian, Thomas Khun, once the interpretation of such conception is not consensual. In our field, we have Rafael Capurro’s proposal, elaborated exclusively from the perimeter of the Information Science, born after the World War II in the USA, which associates ‘paradigm’, quite directly, to theoretical production, as it is understood through the connotation of the designations chosen by the author – physical paradigm, cognitive paradigm, social paradigm and social-cognitive paradigm; and we have the proposal made by the authors of this paper, that operate with two paradigms (the custodial, cultural, historicist and technicist and the post-custodial, informational and scientific). In this paper, it is intended to characterize the two paradigms through the analysis of some important elements related to professional practice and other connected to higher education and the subsequent research activity. It is a theoretical approach, based mainly in the analysis and comparison, in the light of the starting presuppositions, more than an applied research work, through which it is possible to communicate results and formulate conclusions from an empirical study.

The Cannabis sativa plant has been used by humans for millennia. Scientific research has shown positively that cannabinoids can help the treatment of various diseases. This research aims to document the development of the Thematic Digital Library of Brazilian Academic-Scientific Publications on the Medicinal Use of Cannabis. The research can be justified for presenting a topic of interest to researchers due to its adherence to social, educational and health problems. Also because there are scientific-academic publications focused on the subject, as well as tools of Information Science to promote the organization, dissemination and access to such material. It is believed that the organization of this information can collaborate for the scientific dissemination on the subject, as well as to promote the visibility among researchers and the dissemination and access to the information to the interested public.

In Information Science, studies in the field of Organization and Information Representation link the relationship between documents and communities served by the information units. In this sense, considering the LGBTQ community, it is questioned what research has been developed on the subject in the area of Information Science. The research, with the objective of mapping the national and international academic and scientific production in Information Science on the LGBTQ + theme, is justified by the fact that they involve aspects inherent in representation and access to information, as well as those related to use studies and information users. In order to carry out this survey, four platforms were chosen: BENANCIB, BRAPCI, NDLTD and SciELO. Data were collected between September 2017 and July 2018. Key words were used in English, Portuguese and Spanish in order to broaden the reach of the search results. It is concluded that studies related to the subject are still scarce in the area (28 documents retrieved) and that, among the authors, stand out: Fabio Assis Pinho, Francisco Arrais Nascimento and José Augusto Chaves Guimarães.

In the last 20 years there have been big changes in the Portuguese academic libraries services as academic libraries over the world. These changes include the adoption of automatic catalogues and the electronic access to bibliographic data bases and scientific journals in full text. Nowadays physical and digital sources are together. Professors, students and researchers are able to access simultaneous to a great amount of quality information pay and open access. The Portuguese Government has been investing to improve the access to the production of knowledge so as to develop the country. It is important to know the return on the investments in university libraries. The purpose of this paper is to identify the impact of the electronic sources in the Portuguese academic libraries. This paper describes an ongoing project to assess: •The use of electronic scientific information and the correlation to the scientific production of the Portuguese academic community according to standard performance measures indicators and bibliometrics data. •The economic value of these library services. In order to estimate in monetary terms the value of these services for end-users we use the contingent valuation method (CVM).This study reports the results of a quantitative e-survey of academic community.

This paper is part of a research project running by the two authors about the general subject of The Epistemology of the Information Scince in dialogue and was preceded by another, more initiatory, presented in EDBIC III conducted in 2008 by the University of Salamanca. In this ongoing project objective to treat the main epistemological issues not only on Information Science, but also the area where it falls most directly - the information and communication sciences - and in more general level, the Applied Social Sciences. And objective is also to debate them with insights and ideas which differ in some central points, especially, among them, the defense established around the interdisciplinary profile of Inforation Science, in line with postmodernist and relativist placements rather generalized worldwide, particularly in Brazil, and its opposite, namely the assertion of a domestic and crossdisciplinary status for the Information Science, which has been postulated, supported and implemented in programs for graduate and post-graduate of the University of Porto. This paper will focus on the issue of paradigms, contrasting the four listed by Capurro to the two major paradigms proposed by Silva & Ribeiro, and in light of the proposed paradigm seek to show which of them are presented in post-graduate programs of Information Science taught in Brazil and Portugal through the analysis of objectives, theoretical basis and the exposed studies plan.

And what role should information professionals play when faced with information management, organization and presentation issues? This paper aims at answering these questions, analysing the way the brain develops skills, competences, beliefs and behaviours. In that way, it is indicative of the importance of establishing the area of neuroinformation, within the scope of training and research in Information Sciences.

Keeping the presence across the medieval Trivium and maintaining the upward in the second millennium Anno Domini, the Aristotelian’s Poetics and Rhetoric always kept the organization of the literary texts, classical option that obliges the writer to accomplish three key steps: inventio, dispositio and elocutio. Another can on of those classical norms, the memoria, int he present time almost only realizes its purpose by ensuring the author skills in the gnosiologic universe, including the globalized information networks, and thus it is in the inventio that the modern framework of information science, with equivalent prominence in this post-custodial period, is organized by intertextual proposals intersect and interpenetrate by multiple disciplines, fulfilling an important operative task. In literature, and although in most cases the contact with the e-book does not exclude the traditional one, it becomes clear that the use of the virtual knowledge networks hosts a convenient, useful and diverse range of materials, also theoretical and critical. But this facility shapes the other face of Janus: it invites to the paraphrases constructing and particularly to the plagiarism practice, unscrupulous enough to kill the true author by the mere palimpsest of his name. Supported by suitable studies on the access to the shared networks information and on the referred practice of plagiarism, this paper aims to exhibit the existing research on knowledge representation based on the information provided by virtual communities, without the expertise assistance of the information science.

This paper presents the partial results of a study designed to promote a better understanding regarding teenagers (12-18 years) information behaviour related with the assessment of information sources credibility. A survey was applied to a sample of 195 students from one 3rd cycle school and one secondary school, in a municipality of Oporto district. Results on the students’ perception about the criteria to be applied in Internet information sources evaluation are presented and analyzed. The practices that young people claim to apply regarding the use of criteria such authorship, originality, structure, information update and comparison for web resources selection will be presented. In addition, these results will be discussed and compared with the perceptions that these respondents have demonstrated for the use of criteria to establish or assess these criteria. These results will be also discussed and compared with the perceptions that these respondents have demonstrated for the elements that make up each of these criteria. Data analysis is framed and supported by a literature review on the concept of credibility, applied to information resources available on the Internet. Some topics related to the inclusion of strategies for assessing digital information credibility in Big6 model, one of the models for the development of information literacy skills most known and used in Portuguese school libraries, are also presented.

The main results of the analysis are the framing of Antville members’ praxis in the «forensic» fandom practices, which produce a rather eloquent form of collective intelligence fomented by «drillable» producerly features of the music video text. This «drillability» can be conceptualized as a complement of the most common spreadable practices of diffusion on the social web (dissemination and propagation).

The present paper aims to analyze quantitative and qualitative trends of research in Information Science in Portugal supported on 253 dissertations produced between 1999 and 2012, classified in different areas of Information Science research. For this, the author analysis the dissertations, projects and reports stage of the masters in Information Science of four Portuguese higher education institutions: University of Évora, Faculty of Arts (University of Lisboan), Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (New University of Lisbon) and Faculty of Engineering (University of Oporto). The results obtained in this study corroborate other similar national and international investigations that examine the scientific literature in Information Science, having more adhesion areas related to information management in organizations. Simultaneously, more theoretical issues of Information Science are few in number, assuming the work, in most cases, the case study methodology, predominating a pragmatic and professional vision of the Information Science, that overstates the intervention attitude to research. Finally, the scientific output resulting from master dissertations is representative of the state of development of Information Science in Portugal, witnessing other issues, such as lack of Groups, programs and research projects in Information Science consolidated in different higher education institutions, the recent recognition and consolidation of Information Science, the existence of some difficulties in the definition of Information Science and its subject, as well as a recent experience of different master programs in Information Science.

The scientific reduction to the individual or atom, typical of analytical, disciplinary science, earned the derogatory designation “reductionism” to denounce its inadequacy to deal with concrete, complex problems. Bunge's systemism is a worldview at variance with reductionism, but also with the “reduction to the whole” of holistic approaches that deny the possibility of explanation through analysis. This article presents the reduction to the system, a fundamental epistemic operation of systemism, with emphasis on its application to information science. We discuss the fundamentals of systemism, particularly its composition-environment-structure-mechanism, or CESM model, which frames systemist reduction. A graduate course on systemist research with CESM is presented, including a new modeling method, illustrated with students' models. We show how to explain systemic effects, even if counterintuitive, claiming that systemist research is in better conditions to do so than its rivals reductionism and holism.

ID. Knowledge representation. - Abstract
This work is justified against the need to model the conceptual relationships from the nuclear area. This area, despite all its tradition in processing and dissemination of information, has remained static in recent decades with regard to developing of standardization terminology tools and, therefore, has not evolved in relation to the expansion of theoretical and methodological foundations for conceptual modeling. Because of this, the paper presents, from a theoretical approach of the Information Science, a new way for modeling, based on the systematization of conceptual relationships that exist in a given domain. The relational-category method aims to combine relationships categories and formal relationships to coming toward to the model of triadic relations.

Known by the famous epithet of Greek Master, for having been the first to teach the language of Homer in a university in the Iberian Peninsula, the Portuguese humanist Aires Barbosa (ca. 1470-1540) stands out as a teacher of Latin and Greek at the University of Salamanca in the first quarter of the sixteenth century. Between 1511 and 1517, alongside his teaching activities, he published four booklets in Latin designed to clarify his disciples about the subjects he taught, a collection of epigrams and an extensive volume entitled Commentary of Arator's “Historia apostolica” (1516), the embodiment of the lessons given by Barbosa in the regency of the chair of Grammar, and which constitutes his masterpiece. The original edition of this works present several reasons of interest and no less difficulties for those who venture to read and transcribe the barbosian text, and reflect the advances and limitations of the Press in the city of Tormes in the early sixteenth century. The aim of this paper is to describe and explain several aspects that stand out in the reading of the original text, such as excessive compression of the text and the lack of illustrations, even when they were initially planned; the existence of errors assignable to either the author or to the carelessness of the printer; the constant use of abbreviations, some of them not filed in dictionaries by the experts; or the transcription of words and texts in Hellenic language into Latin characters.

The Portuguese National Health Service has undergone various transformations, from management models to changing organizational structures, and focused, with respect to health information, in more targeted measures in the field of information technology and communication. The area of Information Services, traditionally divided into archives and libraries, has been away from issues on which attention has been concentrated. As we believe that Information Services are part of the hospital information system, we developed the analysis of this area in order to understand its structure and operation. This paper aims to publicize the findings of our study of archives and libraries of the hospitals included in the Portuguese National Health Service, with the highlight in the spread of information among various services, many of them without trained professionals. Many of the existing services do not have essential management tools and do not apply best practices of organizing information based on standardized instruments. Based on the conclusions of this study, we present a model of (re) organization of information services in the hospitals, taking as theoretical-epistemological reference the informational, scientific and postcustodial paradigm, which conveys an integrated, systemic and dynamic vision of the information. This work was developed through the application of the quadripolar method as research device, as it suits the requirements of research in information science, the scientific field where this work fits, since it is not limited to the instrumental part and surpasses dichotomy between qualitative and quantitative research.

An infocommunicational phenomenon can be clearly seen on the Internet Social Networks (ISN). The new behavior in network confirms changes in the socialization enhanced by mobile access in digital platforms. Based on this, the paper aimed to understand the theory of Information Behavior (IB) to support an investigation with users of ISN. These theoretical discussions were held in light of the emerging paradigm called the Post-Custodial, Informational and Scientific. This is an exploratory study, therefore a theoretical one, which brings together some terms and examples of Web 2.0. The discussion in this article criticized a 1) IB and Post-Custodial Paradigm's evidence, 2) Post-Custodial Paradigm and a new professional panorama and 3) IB and Information Competencies. The preliminaries outcomes showed that the research’s field focused on Information Seeking Behavior and permits to undertake a research on other IB facets of ISN.

In this paper we report the methodological relevant aspects observed in two experiments carried out under the Doctoral Program of the Department of Library Science and Documentation at the University of Salamanca (Spain). The first study, entitled "Representation and evolution of the concept Ethnicity in the Universal Decimal Classification", analyzed the behavior of this system in respect of the representation of socio-cultural dynamics of the Twentieth Century, in the light of the concept of the Ethnicity. Its main purpose was to assess to what extent we can consider the CDU an impartial and reliable system at the representation and retrieval of information. The second study, entitled "Archival Science under the sign of change: archival scenarios (re) designed by the electronic records", analyzed the impacts generated by the electronic records in the theory and practice of Contemporary Archival Science, highlighting their general significance for the archival community now a days. These two mentioned investigations have in common the application of a qualitative paradigm and a qualitative research design. In the first case, it was developed a critical study of the bibliographic classification systems in the light of an evolving concept: Ethnicity. The phenomena were firstly observed and described and secondly it was carried out a conceptual and terminological analysis. In the second case, it was developed an analytical study, which intended to construct theory. The study began by a deeply and extensive scientific literature research, followed by a systematic and grounded analysis of the data collected, supported by grounded theory method, and finished by the development of theoretical explanations, based on empirical evidence. In conclusion, these two investigations adopted a common investigation challenge: methodological innovation.

Large, complex information systems are often seen in a fragmented, partial way, even by its protagonists. This paper presents the systemism of Mario Bunge, a systemic approach, as a theoretical and methodological framework for the design and study of information systems. The article contrasts the individualist worldview, characteristic of analytical science, with the holism that underlies the "systemic" approaches prior to Bunge's. Systemism is introduced as an approach that denies and, at the same time, conjugates individualism and holism. The postulates of systemism are presented, together with its system model and general methodological rules for approaching the design and study of systems - especially information systems. An application of this approach to Plataforma Lattes is offered as illustration. The approach is aimed as a methodological guide for those interested in information systems research with a systemic view. Additionally, it outlines some research problems about the mechanisms of growth and maintenance of Plataforma Lattes.

One of the activities which the Library is responsible is the preparation of bibliographic records , which are intended , by adopting internationally accepted standards , give subsidies to users so they can find , identify, select and obtain documents , browsing through a catalog , regardless of the medium in which they are registered . This activity is only possible through representation of the knowledge arranged in an informational setting records . In the present study , we sought to analyze the information needs of service professionals the Advertising on the forms of representation of the bibliographic catalogs of cosmetics ( CPC ) . These catalogs feature in its content , relevant information about cosmetic products , such as images , descriptions , values and codes . It was established as a general objective to analyze the feasibility of bibliographic representation (thematic and descriptive ) CPC , AACR2R and described according to the alphabetic indexing languages , given the information needs of professionals in the Advertising . To achieve these goals we opted for qualitative and quantitative research and the use of the questionnaire as a tool for data collection , consisting of open and closed questions . The questionnaire was made available online to the research universe by SurveyMonkey tool, after review and approval granted by the IRB / UFSCAR . There was a return of 52 % of the group studied , it is possible to identify that most advertisers have the habit of consulting CPC previously published as an information source for creating new products and new brands , they look for various information , such as aspects related to the images , the organization, categorization and information products ; find content and specific details about the content of the document and not as access points previously defined by the area of information Science ; are used for materials published by the client and competitors to create new Image for disclosure of a product; resort to additional information such as product specifications, target audience , etc. , indicating that specific contents of CPC can assume the role of access points ; . claim that adopting a theme for represent the subject of the CPC would not be valid to the purpose of information retrieval . Given the results , it is shown how clear the fact that CPC requires forms of organization , storage , cataloging , classification, indexing, retrieval , dissemination and preservation of information in order to be articulated to the informational needs of advertisers . However, the adoption of complementary means of documentary representation focused , in turn , forms of representation of the contents of these catalogs , such as images , product categorization , conceptual papers , photographic references , among others is required.

BJ. Communication - Abstract
The purpose of this research is to verify the participation of Generation Z in technological platforms. The study was conducted with students of third and fourth grades of a federal high school in northern Paraná. We used the research methodology of Social Network Analysis (SNA) for the study, which enabled us to verify the level of interaction and information shared through technological devices. As a complement we applied the focus group technique (GF) and at this stage the analysis was done by themes and categories, based on content analysis. With the results, it was found that the act of staying online promotes the feeling of closeness with others, and it is considered an important factor to have access to information and the possibility of immediate updating of events. Therefore, the conducts facing technological platforms are seen as more everyday actions than as essential habits, although researchers identify the lack of technology can deprive them of some opportunities. It was also verified that, by keeping the habit of using technology, the Generation Z is accustomed to constant contacts, fast and easy access to information, and therefore they find it difficult to get 37 out of platforms like smartphones. Even accustomed to technological processes of communication and information, Z Generation analyzed here, do not think that they were born with the technology but they have been adapted to it.

The research is focused on the new contexts of teaching, which are centred on the accessibility of information and building of collective knowledge. The Social Web, as a contemporary concept materialized by electronic information resources and content sharing channels, has making changes on the social behavior, use and production of information. In Social Web context, we identify a tendency towards the fragmentation of information, caused by new patterns of use of information, which can be identified by behaviors of search, production, dissemination and use. Identified in the media as a «one to many» social service and represented by channels of sharing content like micro-blogging, social networks and wikis, the main feature of the Social Web is its immediate return, which can express personal experiences and opinions, providing a better and faster processing of information (cognition), its (re)use and changes. In this paper, we start with the differentiation of two key concepts involved in the retrieval of information: to find and to discover, and we compare two theories: the Doctrine of Intentionality and the Long Tail. The Doctrine of Intentionality is understood as a subject-object relationship, the act of conscience that a person performs with an intentional objective, and used in the fragmented infocomunicacional phenomenon as a method to judge value and improve quality. The Long Tail, which applied to folksonomias leads to the serendipity, a pleasurable discovery of unexpected things are the center of learning. By other words, it is the representation that an intentional object awakens in the subject, the metadada for the findability compared to the folksonomies for the serendipity. In line with the behavior of search and use, the Social Web shapes a new conception of classroom, breaking barriers of space and time, so that the education becomes continued, not being interrupted every semester, where the knowledge may expands through collaborative writing, «perpetual beta». The folksonomy, in contrast to the taxonomy, is a categorization based on collaboration, where key words are freely chosen by users, reflecting the vocabulary of users, without previous control, as in taxonomy. Furthermore, due to the the judgement of value of the the Doctrine of Intentionality, qualitative contributions will be shared, that may increase the dissemination and production of scientific knowledge, and enhance the processing and enrichment of specialized information. With the support of services for making comments, content sharing and tagging, the user uses a kind of reliable information and interacts through the concepts of social web. Through these concepts and the combining of information, any content management service may have information about the types of use, interaction and production of tags. Thus, this service also may include information on trends of use of information. These results may shape the information services of today and tomorrow.

This study has the objective to present an intersection proposal among the master degree research subjects of the authors of paper: 1) taxonomy, 2) folksonomy, 3) accessibility and 4) usability, in the field of the knowledge organization. In the context of information science, the classification theory with Ranganathan and the concept theory, developed by Dahlberg by principles of the terminology theory, provide the theoretical and methodological base to support the "unit of representation" issue. The theoretical-methodological grounding to identify the mentioned intersection is based in Vickery’s thought that affirms the importance of the knowledge representation and arrangement in computational environments. The information recovery systems provide access to information contents that must happen in physical and also intellectual way. In that context, the instruments such as the taxonomy and the folksonomy are considered, which developed through attributes of accessibility can contribute for the effective use. From this, it still discuss the notion of usability in the field of the organization and information use.

It addresses the conversion of bibliographic records to be used by institutions that do not make all of their collection data available in online catalogs for public access. Despite the possibility of resorting to processes of retrospective conversion of bibliographic records to fill this gap, technical work becomes necessary, such as adequacy of subject access points, notes and other local information in which correction, suppression of fields, modification of content and addition of local information. The retrospective conversion of bibliographic data from image processing is presented, which considers the full use of the bibliographic record of the institution itself (bibliographic data, access points and location data, already defined in the analogue records). The main objective is to present Scan for MARC, a computer interpreter for web access for converting analog bibliographic data to the MARC21 Bibliographic Format. It resorts to a qualitative approach, with an exploratory and descriptive character, and to bibliographical research. The results present contributions in the scientific field, in view of the development of syntactic and semantic aspects of bibliographic records; in terms of technology, given the development of Scan for MARC as a product for improving analogue bibliographic data conversion processes; on the social level, inherent in sharing records and their methodologies, expanding access to metadata and interoperability between library management systems, factors that contribute to the discussion and socialization of scientific/technological knowledge.

Public libraries through moments of uncertainty in their mission and social usefulness is questioned. Given the voices that paint a pessimistic and gloomy horizon for these institutions, the library professional has an obligation and responsibility to justify their role in society, claiming its importance, demonstrate its usefulness and social returns, and have a proactive attitude to its users community and beyond considered necessary, it can be said that today, more than ever, are essential as agents of development and improvement of the social fabric of their community. To do this, libraries must take some risks, show enthusiasm, relying on imagination and be what users want them to be.

The first books in the world printed from movable metal type, whose European appearance is credited to Johannes Gutenberg in about 1450, are today relatively rare and valuable, either because of their intrinsic or extrinsic characteristics. Sheer chronological age and artisanship add value, as do the historical importance of the work and its content. Printed books are sometimes regarded almost like a museum object, appreciated for their beauty alone. The research aims to show that these books are the heritage of libraries but also of museums. Through literature related to historic houses museums the case of the Plantin-Moretus Museum, created in 1555, will be portrayed. Plantin-Moretus, founded as a public institution in the nineteenth century, is generally regarded as the most important museum of European typography in the world. Several rooms have been preserved exactly as they were in the seventeenth century, including presses dating from 1600, and the museum houses archival documentation unmatched worldwide. In this piece I also take up the question, among others, of authenticity versus representation in historical museum exhibitions. In the history of business or manufacturing, one typically finds a representation of the past rather than its preservation. Old factories get torn down and their machines and other contents destroyed. But thanks to the practices of the Plantin-Moretus family and the commitment of the city of Antwerp, we have in this museum actual continuity from the past, with unchanged space. In this universe, a patrimony of rare books is in an ideal home, not in a library, as might be expected, but in a museum context where the objects remain in the same location in which they were born.

BC. Information in society. ,BG. Information dissemination and diffusion. ,CF. Reading and story telling. - Abstract
The term “reading” is very broad, and, contrary to what many people think, it is not restricted to written texts. Its main function is to transmit messages with the purpose of establishing communication between people, having, in this process, a transmitter and one or more receivers. The object of reading is much broader than textual reading and involves the reading of symbols, words, figures, signs and even behaviors. For Yunes (2009) the act of reading makes the individual assume a critical stance in the face of a situation, making him able to take the floor and position himself in the face of information. Similarly, Neves (1998) presents reading as a necessary element for the realization of citizenship and criticizes the lack of social commitment to its promotion. Silva (2009, p.84), in turn, states that reading is extremely important in today's society, so much so that he classifies it as a prerequisite for social coexistence and the achievement of citizenship, conceiving it as an “extension of human essence”, since the non-mastery of this practice can lead to the non-appreciation of the individual before society. The knowledge acquired by the individual, through reading, directly contributes to a critical formation. According to Freire (1981, p. 19), reading is fundamental for individuals and is present before any type of literacy, since "reading the world precedes reading the word". In the modality of reading written texts, problems are identified that interfere with the main role of reading, that of understanding the message that makes communication effective. Thus, decoding symbols is not enough for the full exercise of reading, being necessary, in addition to literacy, literacy, which consists of understanding the message in a contextualized and critical way (BEKER; GROSCH, 2008). Reading, then, is given by the particular meaning of the world, because only it allows establishing relationships and awareness of oneself and others. In this way, what can be understood is that reading is present from an early age. age and indicates functions of formation and transformation of individuals in favor of the full exercise of citizenship, that is, to act in the world. Discussing issues involving reading in a country like Brazil, with more than 200 million inhabitants (POPULAÇÃO..., 2014), is a great challenge and can show lack of access to information and encouragement of reading as barriers to be overcome. overcome. For this, it is essential to know educational policies and actions that encourage the formation of critical readers. The survey “Portraits of Reading in Brazil”, dated 2011, indicates that the biggest reading encouragers are, respectively, the teacher, parents, relatives, friends, religious leader, co-workers and partner (LEITE , 2012). Another interesting data from this survey is that 17% of respondents said they had no influence to become readers. Such results show some difficulty in identifying those who encourage reading in the school environment, which, in a way, indicates that there are many reader-forming agents with a fundamental role in this process in the school environment.
