Este artigo discute o trabalho com a produção de textos escritos em uma instituição de educação infantil, a partir dos resultados de uma pesquisa de mestrado, realizada pela abordagem metodológica do estudo de caso do tipo etnográfico. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida durante o ano de 2005, em uma turma de crianças na faixa de seis a sete anos de idade. As análises, sustentadas na perspectiva dialógica de linguagem de Mikhail Bakhtin, focaram as práticas de produção de textos com os gêneros textuais que foram recorrentes na sala de aula: as histórias em quadrinhos e os textos de opinião. Além da leitura e dos conhecimentos sobre o sistema de escrita da língua portuguesa, a produção de textos escritos é considerada, neste artigo, como uma dimensão importante na alfabetização e, por isso, ela é enfatizada neste trabalho. A investigação da prática educativa evidenciou que as professoras envolvidas no estudo se preocuparam em desenvolver propostas em relação a esse tipo de trabalho, mas apontou também a necessidade de criação de condições apropriadas para que as crianças tenham o que dizer e se sintam, dessa forma, motivadas a escrever textos.This paper results from a research that aims at analyzing the work of written text production at an educational institution for children. The research was based on an ethnographic case study and was developed during a year at a school for children from zero to six years old. The class involved in the work included six and seven-year-old children. In order to carry out the analysis, we evoked the studies of Bakhtin and Geraldi, among other authors who gave us support to understanding text production at school. Thereby, this article aims at analyzing the work carried out by teachers and children, in that specific class, with comics and opinionated texts. Besides the reading and the knowledge on Portuguese language system, the production of written texts is considered, in this article, as an important dimension in literacy and, therefore, it is emphasized in this paper. The investigation of the educational practice shows that teachers involved in the study care about developing suitable proposals concerning such kind of work, but also shows the need for creation of suitable conditions for children to have what to say and feel, thereby, motivated to write texts.

Drawing on the imagetic productions of children playing in the street, this paper discusses the meanings of childhood and the issues surrounding the myths of quietness and immobility of the body to learn, an idea quite present in education. By creating some connections between the images produced by children and the education of care and control, this work proposes a look at the body as power to think other ways of life and to make education with children.

This paper presents the influence that children’s mobility has on their socialization processes in the city of Curitiba, Brazil. The study was conducted with six children enrolled in public schools in Curitiba who live in three different regions: downtown, outskirts, and slums. The children’s parents were interviewed, the children were submitted to long talks, and field observations of the locations where they live were made. The collected data were analyzed based on the perspectives of urban sociology, socialization, and childhood. This research has demonstrated the existence of a range of possibilities concerning children’s mobility, even though these children are circumscribed by social and territorial issues which are common in globalized and disparate cities such as Curitiba. Facing a range of worries related to neighborhood mobility, children not only express their opinions and critically discuss them, showing they are aware of the dangers experienced, but also position themselves by using several logics of action, which demonstrate reflexive attitudes that may be incorporated into their own experience (LAHIRE, 2002). Este artigo discute a relação entre o deslocamento de crianças nos bairros e na cidade de Curitiba e seus processos de socialização. A pesquisa foi realizada com seis crianças de escolas da rede municipal de educação de Curitiba, Brasil, moradoras de regiões centrais, periferias e favelas. Foram realizadas entrevistas com os pais, conversas longas com as crianças e observações de campo sobre os locais de moradia das famílias. Os dados foram analisados a partir de referenciais da sociologia urbana, da socialização e da Infância. A pesquisa vem demonstrando a existência de uma diversidade de possibilidades na mobilidade das crianças sendo estas, porém, circunscritas por fatores sociais e territoriais próprios de uma cidade globalizada e desigual. E, frente a uma série de preocupações nos deslocamentos pelo bairro, as crianças não só opinam e discutem criticamente demonstrando conhecer e avaliar os perigos das saídas, mas também se posicionam utilizando variadas lógicas de ação, evidenciando práticas reflexivas que podem vir a ser incorporadas aos seus estoques de experiência (LAHIRE, 2002).

The paper aims to discuss the conceptions of childhood assistance public policies and to observe the chronological order in which they have been presented. It appears that childhood and its conceptions have accommodated to different social positions, as a result of their class origins, gender, ethnicity/race, and thus public policies also assume different characters (punitive, assistance, compensation, educational and others). In order to contextualize the analysis, the study emphasizes the plurality of black childhoods whose racializing processes to which they are historically submitted demand for specific policies. It addresses the specificity of the quilombolas and considers them as a place of non-formal education. The Guidelines for School Quilombola Education have been built by listening to quilombola communities from different regions and generations. In this inter-generational and spatial meeting, children grow within a dynamic social movement that makes them active participants in the processes of claims and changes regarding the recognition and restoration of rights, which have been neglected by the Brazilian State so far. A reflexão tem como objetivo discorrer acerca das concepções de infância nas políticas públicas de assistência à mesma e, ao observar a ordem cronológica em que essas têm se apresentado, verifica-se que as infâncias e suas concepções acomodam-se a diferentes posições sociais como decorrência das suas origens de classe, gênero, etnia/raça e, desta forma, as políticas públicas, igualmente, assumem diferentes caracteres (punitivos, assistencialistas, compensatórios, educativos e outros). No sentido de contextualizar a análise, ressalta-se a pluralidade das infâncias negras cujos processos racializantes a que estão historicamente submetidas, demandam por políticas específicas; dirige-se à especificidade quilombola e concebe o espaço do quilombo como um lugar de educação não formal, percebe-se que as Diretrizes da Educação Escolar Quilombola foram sendo construídas através da escuta das comunidades de quilombos de diferentes regiões e também gerações e, nesse encontro intergeracional e espacial, as crianças, desde bebês, crescem às voltas com uma dinâmica de movimento social que as torna partícipes ativas dos processos de reivindicação e mudança no que tange ao reconhecimento, bem como, na reparação de direitos, até então negligenciados pelo Estado brasileiro.

The paper presents a partial summary of the details of an ongoing survey aimed to analyze the research on children and childhood at the UNESCO research program implemented in Brazil, known as “UNESCO Race relations Project” (MAIO, 2004), in partnership with Revista Anhembi, from São Paulo, Brazil, between 1950 and 1953. We integrate a genealogical methodology in order to recover the ideas that anticipated thinking about race relations and children from Virgínia Leone Bicudo’s (1955) “Atitudes dos alunos dos grupos escolares em relação com a côr dos seus colegas” (“Attitudes of schoolchildren regarding the color of their schoolmates”) and Aniela Meyer Ginsberg’s (1955) “Pesquisas sôbre as atitudes de um grupo de escolares de São Paulo em relação com as crianças de côr” (“Research on the attitudes of a group of schoolchildren of São Paulo towards colored children”). The studies indicate a protagonism of racial thinking about children’s ways of socialization, a central theme to contemporary studies, the agency of the child and, in a specific way, the specificity of the agency in terms of race relations. These studies have a precursor character, as they investigate categories as race, gender, nationality, age and social class in an articulate way. Our emphasis is to constitute the historical context in which the Brazilian social sciences developed as a field of study and research in which the issues regarding children and their childhoods are marked by the variability of gender, race, and social class experiences. We seek to conciliate a diachronic sequence in which the authors’ investigations are inserted within the themes of contemporary research on childhood and race relations. Este artigo apresenta uma síntese parcial dos dados de uma pesquisa em curso que objetiva analisar as pesquisas que foram realizadas sobre criança e infância no âmbito do “Projeto UNESCO sobre relações raciais” (MAIO, 2004) em parceria com a Revista Anhembi de São Paulo entre 1950 e 1953. Integramos uma metodologia genealógica para recuperar as ideias que anteciparam o pensamento sobre relações raciais e infância a partir das pesquisas de Virgínia Leone Bicudo (1955) Atitudes dos alunos dos grupos escolares em relação com a côr dos seus colegas e Aniela Meyer Ginsberg (1955) Pesquisas sôbre as atitudes de um grupo de escolares de São Paulo em relação com as crianças de côr. Essas pesquisas evidenciam um protagonismo do pensamento racial sobre os modos de socialização das crianças, algo central nos estudos contemporâneos que pensam a agência da criança e as relações raciais. As pesquisas possuem um caráter precursor por empregarem de modo articulado categorias de análise como raça, gênero, nacionalidade, faixa etária e classe social. Nossa ênfase recai na constituição da conjuntura histórica na qual as ciências sociais brasileiras se constituem como área de estudo e pesquisa onde as temáticas das crianças e de suas infâncias marcadas pelas variabilidades de experiências de gênero, raça, classe social, etc. Dessa forma, buscou-se conciliar uma sequência diacrônica na qual os trabalhos das autoras são inseridos com os temas das pesquisas contemporâneas sobre infância e relações étnico-raciais.

After the implementation of the Elementary School in nine years, the Ministry of Education (MEC), by means of the Programa Nacional do Livro Didático (PNLD – The National Coursebook Program), distributed, in 2010, collections formed by supplementary teaching materials to Elementary School classrooms of the 1st and 2nd years. In this study, we analyze the book “Seis pequenos contos africanos sobre a criação do mundo e do homem” (“Six African short stories about the creation of the world and the man), by Raul Lody. The article discusses the representation of African culture in children’s literature, presents the object of analysis and, finally, discusses ethnic issues in the book, which is designed for young readers. Thus, the paper aims to contribute for the consideration of the young reader as an individual who has the right to live with cultural diversity, present in Brazil and conveyed in the literature. A partir da implantação do Ensino Fundamental de nove anos, o MEC (Ministério da Educação), pelo Programa Nacional do Livro Didático (PNLD), distribuiu, em 2010, às salas de aula do 1º e 2º anos do Ensino Fundamental, acervos formados por obras paradidáticas. Neste estudo, analisaremos o título Seis pequenos contos africanos sobre a criação do mundo e do homem, de Raul Lody. O artigo discute a representação da cultura africana na literatura infantil, apresenta a obra objeto de análise e, por fim, discute questões étnicas na obra destinada ao leitor criança. Assim, o artigo pretende contribuir para pensar a criança leitora como um sujeito que tem direito a conviver com a diversidade cultural, presente no Brasil e veiculada na literatura.

During the nineteenth century, in a society that saw the woman solely as wife and mother, various leading women were able to carve out a new role for their sex: that of educators of the younger generations. This role, described as “societally maternal”, presaged both the first emancipation movements and practical feminism and can, however, be seen as an primary form of social welfare typical of the twentieth century. The paper will attempt to address this development through comparative means.

Partindo do ponto que o homem é considerado um ser simbólico e influenciado diretamente pelos aspectos sociais e culturais, o seu imaginário é totalmente estimulado por tudo e todos que estão a sua volta, principalmente na contemporaneidade, quando o que está em voga é a infância, a TV e suas brincadeiras. Este estudo objetivou conhecer a dinâmica brincante entre os heróis de alguns desenhos animados (Power Rangers, Ben 10, Homem Aranha e Homem de Ferro) e a orientação estética desta teia de relações, a partir das metáforas e construções teóricas de Ariès, Brougère, Jones, Huizinga, Morin, Sutton-Smith, dentre outros. Partindo do pressuposto que a criança utiliza a sua imaginação para brincar com o que está ao seu redor e que os objetos que compõem este meio também podem influenciá-la, foram formuladas as seguintes indagações: como o processo de identificação com o desenho animado age para suscitar a imaginação das crianças? Como a agressividade permeia suas brincadeiras? Foram realizadas entrevistas com sete crianças de cinco anos de idade da Educação Infantil de uma Escola Municipal de Cuiabá/MT. O texto apresentou a importância de ter uma percepção sensível sobre a relação que a criança faz com seus heróis midiáticos: a escolha da brincadeira, a preferência do personagem e os comportamentos lúdico-agressivos presentes neste momento. Isso possibilitou uma experiência estética, de mostrar a linguagem lúdica da criança ao interpretar à sua maneira o conteúdo dos desenhos animados.Starting from the point of view that the man is considered to be a symbolic being and directly influenced by social and cultural aspects, his imagination is fully stimulated by everything and everyone that is around him, especially when what is in vogue in contemporaneity is childhood, TV and playing. This study aimed to understand the playful dynamics between cartoon heroes (Power Rangers, Ben 10, Spider-man and Iron Man) and the aesthetic orientation of this web of relationships, on the basis of the theoretical constructs of Ariès, Brougère, Jones, Huizinga, Morin, Sutton-Smith, among others. Thus, how does the process of identification with cartoons brings out a child's imagination? How does the aggression pervade these games? Interviews were conducted with seven five-year-old children from the Kindergarten at a public school located in Cuiabá/MT, Brazil. The paper showed the importance of having a sensible perception of the relationship that the child builds with media heroes: the playing choice, the preference for the character and playful and aggressive behavior present at this time. It provided an aesthetic experience, to show the playful language of the child in order to interpret in their own way the content of cartoons.

En el artículo se tejen algunos indicios que permiten poner en escena las formas como los niños pobres o los hijos de los habitantes pobres de la ciudad de Bogotá fueron diferenciados de la infancia "normal", en la primera mitad del siglo XX. Acudiendo a discursos de especialistas, voces de reformistas educativos y periodistas se evidencia que la diferenciación fue producida mediante la estigmatización de los lugares sociales de los niños pobres, a través de la imagen de los chinos y los gamines. Imágenes que resultan paradigmáticas para desentrañar la deslegitimación de las estructuras familiares, de las trayectorias escolares y de los modos de habitar la ciudad de los niños y niñas de los sectores populares, dada la articulación, infundada y temeraria que se estableció entre la vida de los pobres y la delincuencia infantil.In this paper we present hints that allow us to reveal the ways poor children, or the children of poor inhabitants, from the city of Bogota were excluded from the "normal" childhood in the first half of the 20th century. Based on specialists' statements as well as opinions from educational reformers and journalists it is clear that this exclusion was created due to the stigmatization of the social places belonging to the poor children through the image of the urchins and street boys.. Such images were a model that could reveal the illegitimacy of the family structures, of the school history and of the way children from the popular areas lived, given the articulation, mistaken and dangerous, that was established between the life of poor people and children delinquency.

Este texto se propõe a levantar algumas indagações que vêm de um dos traços mais inquietantes da contemporaneidade: a violência, e de maneira particular a violência infanto-juvenil. Esta incomoda e indaga a sociedade e a Pedagogia, as pesquisas, a reflexão teórica e o fazer educativos. Focalizo alguns pontos: a categoria violentos estaria se impondo como um novo parâmetro segregador na sociedade e nas escolas? Estariam em questão os avanços havidos na conformação do público e da escola como espaço público? As reações à violência estariam mostrando a fragilidade da proclamação da educação como direito de todos? E a fragilidade do reconhecimento da infância-adolescência como sujeitos de direitos? Destaco que as reações à violência infanto-juvenil repõem a tradicional disputa pelo imaginário sobre o povo e sobre a infância-adolescência populares. De cada um desses traços chegam indagações para a Pedagogia.This text proposes to raise some questions emerging from one of the most worrying features of present days: violence and, more particularly, child and youth violence, which bothers and questions society and pedagogy, research, the theoretical reflection and the educational practice. The paper focuses on some points: Is the category "violent" imposing itself as a new segregating parameter in society and in schools? Are the progresses made in the conformation of the public and of school as a public space being questioned? Are the reactions to violence showing the weakness of proclaiming education as a right for all? And the weakness of recognizing children and teenagers as subjects of rights? It also highlights that the reactions to child and youth violence places again the traditional dispute for the imaginary on the people and on popular children and teenagers. Each of these features sends us questions for pedagogy.

A partir de alguns textos de Rancière, este artigo procura estabelecer uma diferença entre a pedagogia e o pedagógico. Esta diferença condiciona uma outra, entre o aluno e a infância - pela qual a infância designaria o vácuo que separa o aluno de si mesmo. Esse vácuo é entendido como potência de movimento e como ex-posição - carga de resposta que se põe em marcha. Pode-se, então, definir a pedagogia como uma viagem que leva à des-carga, ao esquecimento da carga. Por sua vez, o pedagógico, ou o espaço pedagógico, abre-se com a interrupção da pedagogia e a manifestação da infância. Apenas nesse espaço poderá o mestre aparecer, e aparecer justamente como aquele que, em certo sentido, mantém o homem na infância, ao colocar sua própria infância em jogo.Based on some texts by Rancière, this paper tries to elaborate a difference between pedagogy and the pedagogical. Such a difference implies a distinction between the pupil/student and 'childhood' - where childhood would designate the void separating the pupil from herself. This void can be understood as power and ex-position. Exposition includes the charge to respond, which is an invitation to get oneself going. Pedagogy can thus be defined as a travel leading to a dis-charge, or the oblivion of the charge. In contrast, the pedagogical space opens up with the interruption of pedagogy and the manifestation of childhood. Only in this space may the 'mas ter' appear and appear as the one who, in a certain sense, keeps the individual into her childhood, putting his own childhood at stake.

A infância, como construção social, tem sofrido, no decurso da 2ª modernidade, processos de reinstitucionalização que, em larga medida, põem em causa as representações e imagens das crianças, dominantes nos últimos 200 anos. A análise da (re)construção das identidades sociais e das subjectividades infantis constitui, desse modo, uma tarefa teórica da mais exigente actualidade. O que, entretanto, aqui se assinala é que este processo de reinstitucionalização da infância, apesar da construção de consensos globais sobre os direitos das crianças, tem vindo a aumentar os factores e as condições de exclusão das gerações mais jovens face aos direitos sociais e da cidadania. Neste artigo inventariam-se alguns dos principais indicadores de exclusão, considerando diversos espaços estruturais, e assinalam-se alguns dos pontos de ruptura por onde pode passar a construção de uma educação escolar centrada na afirmação activa dos direitos das crianças.Along the second modernity, childhood, as a social construction, has undergone reinstatement processes that question the representations and images of children that have prevailed over last two hundred years. An analysis of the (re) construction of the social identities and childhood subjectivity thus constitute a theoretical task of the most contemporary exigence. Nevertheless, even though a global consensus about children's rights has been constructed, the increase of factors and conditions that exclude the youngest generations from social rights and citizenship, induced by this reinstatement process of childhood, is here emphasized. This paper lists some of the main indicators of exclusion, considering different structural spaces, and pinpoints some turning points through which the construction of a school education centered on the active affirmation of the children's rights could be attained.
