Introduction and Objective: Pemphigoid gestationis (PG) is a rare, self-limiting autoimmune disorder, typically appearing in the second or third trimester of pregnancy. It can lead to postpartum exacerbations, and studies suggest an increased risk of preterm birth and the development of Graves' disease in the mother. The aim of this article is to gather the latest information on pemphigoid gestationis. Review Methods: A review of studies available in the PubMed database was conducted using the keywords "pemphigoid gestationis" and "dermatoses of pregnancy" in order to find publications from the last 8 years. Brief Description of the State of Knowledge: Pemphigoid gestationis (PG) is characterized by the production of IgG1 antibodies against bullous pemphigoid antigen 180 (BP180). The primary symptom of PG is intense itching, which often occurs before skin lesions develop. Diagnosis is typically confirmed through direct immunofluorescence (DIF) of perilesional skin. Treatment focuses on relieving itching and preventing new blister formation, usually starting with topical corticosteroids for mild cases, while systemic corticosteroids are reserved for more severe presentations. Recent research indicates that biologic therapies may also offer effective management options for PG. Summary: The authors highlight the need for further research due to the limited sample sizes in existing studies, as well as the potential complications during pregnancy and long-term health effects.

Mpox (formerly called monkeypox) is a zoonosis caused by the monkeypox virus (MPXV). MPXV is an orthopoxvirus genetically and antigenically similar to the variola virus responsible for smallpox. Mpox is endemic to Central and West Africa, but in 2022 it spread rapidly leading to many cases in non-endemic countries. Human-to-human contact is currently the main mode of transmission. Patients usually present with a prodromal syndrome of fever, myalgia, headache, lymphadenopathy, and fatigue. The characteristic centrifugal rash with mucocutaneous lesions develops 1–4 days later. Lesion evolution typically follows a sequence of changes (macules, papules, vesicles, pustules, and crusts). The disease is mostly mild and self-limiting. Distinct clinical presentations have been observed during the ongoing outbreak. Prodromal symptoms may be less pronounced or absent. Lesions are located predominantly in the anogenital and perioral areas. Patients may present with few lesions clustered in the genital region or a solitary lesion. Mpox diagnosis is usually confirmed through viral DNA detection with polymerase chain reaction (PCR). There is no specific treatment for mpox. Therapy remains supportive in most cases. Antiviral drugs include tecovirimat, cidofovir, and brincidofovir. Antibody-based therapies are another treatment option. Smallpox vaccines should be considered for high-risk patients (pre-exposure prophylaxis) and following high-risk exposures (post-exposure prophylaxis). Comprehensive differential diagnosis and screening for co-infections with other sexually transmitted pathogens are needed.

Skin diseases diagnosed with dermatoscopy are becoming more and more common. The use of computerized diagnostic systems becomes extremely effective. Non-invasive methods of diagnostics, such as deep neural networks, are an increasingly common tool studied by scientists. The article presents an overview of selected main issues related to the multi-class classification process: the stage of database selection, initial image processing, selection of the learning data set, classification tools, network training stage and obtaining final results. The described actions were implemented using available deep neural networks. The article pay attention to the final results of available models, such as effectiveness, specificity, classification accuracy for different numbers of classes and available data sets.

Abstract. Melanoma is currently one of the most dangerous skin diseases, in addition many others appear in the population. Scientists are developing techniques for early non-invasive skin lesions diagnosis from dermatoscopic images, for this purpose neural networks are increasingly used. Many tools are being developed to allow for faster implementation of the network, including the Keras package. . The article presents selected methods of diagnosing skin diseases, including the process of classification, features selection, extracting the skin lesion from the whole image.The described methods have been implemented using deep neural networks available in the Keras package. The article draws attention to the effectiveness, specificity, accuracy of classification based on available data sets, attention was paid to tools that allow for more effective operation of algorithms.

The article provides an overview of selected applications of deep neural networks in the diagnosis of skin lesions from human dermatoscopic images, including many dermatological diseases, including very dangerous malignant melanoma. The lesion segmentation process, features selection and classification was described. Application examples of binary and multiclass classification are given. The described algorithms have been widely used in the diagnosis of skin lesions. The effectiveness, specificity, and accuracy of classifiers were compared and analysed based on available datasets.

The article contains a review of selected classification methods of dermatoscopic images with human skin lesions, taking into account various stages of dermatological disease. The described algorithms are widely used in the diagnosis of skin lesions, such as artificial neural networks (CNN, DCNN), random forests, SVM, kNN classifier, AdaBoost MC and their modifications. The effectiveness, specificity and accuracy of classifications based on the same data sets were also compared and analyzed.

Breast cancer is the most common malignant neoplasm among women in Poland and in the European Union. According to most recent data of the Polish National Cancer Registry, in 2014 breast cancer was diagnosed in over 17,000 women. Based on the National Health Fund records, it is estimated that there are about 55,000–60,000 women in Poland who have a history of breast cancer diagnosis and are potentially at a risk of relapse. The most common sign of breast cancer is the presence of a nodule, however women also seek medical attention because of skin lesions. The aim of the study is to present diverse clinical manifestations of direct infiltrates and/or skin metastases of breast cancer. Attention is drawn to the importance of including breast cancer in the differential diagnosis of skin lesions.

Patients suffering from endocrine disorders often present a wide profile of skin lesions. In hyperthyroidism we observe hair loss, lower leg myxedema and onycholysis or, in the case of hormone deficiency, generalized swelling of the skin, which becomes cold and pale. Primary hyperparathyroidism is revealed by pruritus, presence of chronic urticaria or deposition of amorphous calcium salts. In hypoparathyroidism, the skin is dry while the nails become very brittle. Skin lesions in diabetes include necrobiosis lipoidica, granuloma annulare, scleroderma-like diabetic edema and acanthosis nigricans. Overactive pituitary gland is often manifested as acromegaly with hypertrophy of soft tissue thickening and hypertrichosis. The skin in the early stages of hypopituitarism feels swollen, is pale yellow and oily, and finally becomes alabaster and dry. The characteristic features of Cushing syndrome are central obesity, lunar face, buffalo hump, and striae. In Addison’s disease we observe hyperpigmentation. Hyperandrogenism in women leads to acne, hirsutism and virilization.
