Nickel is an chemical elements which is widely common in the man's surroundings. Thus, it is a frequent cause of allergy. The risk of nickel allergy is higher in women and in people exposed to the metal at their early age or due to their working conditions. The diagnosis of hypersensitivity to nickel is based on performing patch test with 5% of nickel sulfate. There are three mechanisms in which nickel triggers an allergic reaction. The mechanisms are vary, which determines the differentations of the clinic image. The most frequent symptom of nickel allergy is contact allergic dermatitis. Also, it may be conjunctivitis, rhinitis, asthma, utricaria or baboon syndrom. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
