1. Assessment of tourists perceived without travel risks and intention to visit night market aftermath the COVID-19 pandemic: An empirical approach

Abstract

Prior studies on night market tourism have mainly investigated by governments and scholars on the current situation products and development strategies with descriptive research. There are no empirical studies that have explored the perceptions of tourists in the development of night market tourism. More importantly, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, issues of night market products and services, and tourists’ opinions about night markets have become a challenge. This study aims to examine the relationships between attitude, subjective norm (SN), perceived behavioural control (PBC), perceived without travel risk, and visit intention towards night markets aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. A quantitative approach was used using an online survey method involving 387 respondents followed by subsequent empirical testing of the proposed hypotheses, which was performed using SPSS and AMOS. The results indicate that attitude, SN, PBC, and perceived without travel risk positively influence intention. Furthermore, SN also displayed a significant positive influence on attitude, PBC, and perceived without travel risk. Finally, the theoretical and practical implications, as well as limitations were discussed.

Abstract

Celem niniejszego opracowania jest analiza instytucji nocnego burmistrza. Instytucja ta została wprowadzona w kilkudziesięciu miastach rozlokowanych na całym świecie. Kraków był pierwszym miastem w Polsce, gdzie w 2019 r. próbowano wprowadzić instytucję nocnego burmistrza. Uchwała była jednak dotknięta nieważnością z punktu widzenia formalnego. W opracowaniu rozważono pozycję prawną nocnego burmistrza w ujęciu prawnoporównawczym. The purpose of this study is to analyze the institution of the night mayor. This institution was introduced in several dozens of cities around the world. Kraków was the first city in Poland where an attempt to implement the institution of the night mayor was made, and the attempt took place in 2019. Abstract

Miasta historyczne stanowią szczególną kategorię ośrodków miejskich w Polsce, a z uwagi na potencjał kulturowy ważnym kierunkiem ich rozwoju staje się współcześnie turystyka i sektory z nią powiązane. Jednym z takich sektorów jest tzw. gospodarka nocna (ang. night-time economy, w skrócie NTE) identyfikowana na podstawie kryterium dostępności czasowej (21:00-5:00) i kryterium funkcjonalnego (jako ogół działalności zaspokajających szeroko rozumiane potrzeby wolnoczasowe ludzi poza ich domem w porze nocnej). Celem artykułu jest charakterystyka gospodarki nocnej w historycznej dzielnicy śródmiejskiej Krakowa - Kazimierzu. Autorzy, opierając się na przeprowadzonej w 2019 r. inwentaryzacji terenowej oraz wywiadach z przedstawicielami lokalnej społeczności, zobrazowali przestrzenne i funkcjonalne aspekty tego zjawiska. Historic cities constitute a special category of urban area in Poland. Due to their cultural potential, tourism and related sectors are currently becoming an important development direction. One such sector is their night-time economy, identified on the basis of a time criterion (21:00-5:00), and a functional criterion (understood as all activities that meet people’s broad leisure needs outside their home during the night). The aim of the article is to describe the night-time economy in one historical central district of Kraków - Kazimierz. The authors, based on a field inventory conducted in 2019, and interviews with representatives of the local community, have illustrated the spatial and functional aspects of this phenomenon.
