W dolinach bocznych doliny Tuxer, schodzących z masywu Tuxer Hauptkamm, podczas późnego glacjału lodowce uformowały moreny w kilku niezależnych awansach. Najstarsze odpowiadają awansowi Elsalm I (ekwiwalent stadium Gschnitz – najstarszy dryas) i Elsalm II (Daun – najstarszy dryas). Wyniki badań wskazują na decydujący wpływ lokalnych warunków topograficznych i topoklimatycznych w formowaniu moren i lodowców gruzowych., In the Tuxertal tributary valleys descending from the Tuxer Hauptkamm massif, during the Late Glacial, moraines have been formed by glaciers in several independent advances. The oldest corresponds to the advance Elsalm I (Gschnitz stadial equivalent – Oldest Dryas) and Elsalm II (Daun – Oldest Dryas). This stadials are fragmentarily preserved. On the con- trary the younger moraine sequence – Elsalm III-V (Egesen stadial equivalent – Younger Dryas) is well represented. In this time span, except the largest Tuxer Ferner glacier, the Tux- ertal main valley bottom hasn’t been reached by tributary valley glaciers. There is no geo- morphological evidence for the older stadial moraine (Gschnitz and Daun) existence in the main valley bottom; however this could be due to the landslide reworking. In The Little Ice Age (LIA – AD 1850) pronounced moraine walls have been deposited only in forefields of four recent glaciers. LIA Equilibrium line of these glaciers was in the al- titude 2640-2700 m a.s.l. that is 305-345 m higher than in the Egesen stadial. There are sig- nificant differences in morphology and sediments formation between these two moraine sys- tems. There are also two separate rock glacier systems originated in Holocene and Younger Dryas. Research results point out also crucial influence of topographical and topoclimatic conditions in moraines and rock glaciers origin., Nr 4 (2007): Słupskie Prace Geograficzne, 171-190
