This article presents the issue of crimes committed by immigrants in Poland and the issue of their victimization based on police statistics. Authors describe the etiology of victimization of immigrants and show the problems and the achievements related to the study of this phenomenon. The article presents the possible causes for committing crimes by immigrants. In the main part, based on police statistics, authors present the size and structure of crimes committed by immigrants and analyze who are the offenders. They also show the size of crime victimization on the immigrants in Poland and data about victims.

Bell Beaker culture (BBC) is known almost solely from funeral sites in Poland. This situation is slightly improved as a result of fieldwork at the Kornice 33 site, conducted in 2013. During the excavations two pits and the remnants of an undetermined post-structure, interpreted as a building, were discovered. Described features are initially dated between 2350 and 2200 BC. Among other interesting finds, over 440 fragments of BBC pottery were found. Analysed set of vessels has characteristic attributes of BBC, but contains also elements of local influences of Corded Ware culture. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Bylo testováno mnoho typů mikrokapilár, čtvercových, kulatých a různých velikostí vnitřního průměru, ve kterých byla vytvořena kavitační bublina. Účelem těchto experimentů bylo sledovat rychlost rázové vlny těsně po počáteční kavitační bublině a odrazové vlny uvnitř i vně mikrokapilár. Hlavní metodou byla jiskra indukovaného limitu přehřátí kapaliny. Zde jsme použili metodu rozbití indukovanou laserem (LIB). Bylo popsáno nastavení kavitace, které ovlivňuje stabilitu a velikost bubliny. Pro snímání bublinek kavitace a rázové vlny jsme použili radiografické nastavení s kamerou. Byl pozorován časový vývoj rychlosti rázové vlny; rychlost počáteční rázové vlny uvnitř mikrokapiláry byla vyšší než rychlost rázu mimo mikrokapiláru.

Due to the indisputable significance of humus in many biochemical processes as well as its increasing deficit particularly in light soils, alternative sources of substrates for the reproduction of this constituent should be sought. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the addition of wheat straw and wheat straw biochar (in four rates) on quantitative and qualitative humus parameters. The following properties were determined in soil: pH, organic carbon, total nitrogen, humic and fulvic acids, carbon in the extract, non-hydrolysing carbon and spectrophotometric indexes for solution of humic acids including A2/6, A2/4, A4/6. After applying 1% and 2% additions of biochar to the soil, the Corg soil content significantly increased compared to the same doses of thermally unconverted straw. After 254 days of incubation, the addition of biochar to soil at higher doses, decreased the share of humic acid carbon (CHA, CFA) in the Corg content compared to treatments without organic additions and WS treatment. The nonhydrolysing carbon soil content was significantly increased by treatments with 1% and 2% additions of WSB, which indicates greater stabilisation of humus compounds and, at the same time, lower CO2 emission. Soil humic acids amended by treatment with biochar, especially at 1% and 2% doses, were characterised by lower A2/6 and A2/4 ratios. Recognition of changes that may occur in the quantitative and qualitative composition of soil humus after the application of biochar may in the future be helpful information for determining appropriate biochar dose.

The proposed framework not only aims to mitigate the adverse effects of economic downturns but also to leverage these challenges as opportunities for fostering sustainable and balanced growth.

Calf behaviour in rearing systems is an important indicator of calf welfare and influences efficient dairy production. In this study, the behavioural patterns of dairy calves in outdoor individual pen-and-shelter units were investigated. The study was done over 12 months with 683 Simmental-Fleckvieh calves, kept for two months (pre-weaning) in outdoor individual pen-and-shelter units, and observed at monthly intervals. During the study the calves' lying and moving behaviour in the shelters were separately observed and evaluated. The ambient temperature outdoors was also recorded. Statistically significant relationships between the calf’s season of birth, as well as the age of the calf and the evaluated forms of behaviour, were found. Outdoor ambient temperature was found to have a statistically significant effect on calf preference for standing or lying down. More standing calves than lying calves were recorded outdoors at higher outdoor ambient temperatures. Calves showed a clear preference for lying down, especially in the sheltered parts of the units (64.86%). Only 4.98% of the calves lay outside; 19.18% were standing outside, while 10.98% preferred standing inside the shelter. The calves lying down outside were significantly younger while older calves were lying inside the shelter.

Introduction: A variety of viruses and bacteria are responsible for acute upper and lower respiratory tract infections worldwide. Severe and even fatal disease can occur especially in group ofimmunocompromised individuals. Accurate pathogen identification allows clinicians to determine the need for ancillary diagnostic testing, antibacterial and/or antiviral therapy and can motivate decisions regarding hospitalization and infection control measures., Methods: We compared the diagnostic performance of FilmArray Respiratory Panel highly multiplexed nucleic acid amplification test with previous used direct immunofluorescence assay. Both assays were performed on a panel of 6 nasopharyngeal-secretion specimens and 6 BALF samples, collected from 12 patients, subjected to allogeneic haematological stem cells transplantation, with lower respiratory tract symptoms., Results and Conclusions: Among viruses detectable by both assays were especially influenzaA virus, parainfluenza viruses type 3 and respiratory syncytial virus. In conclusion, the FilmArray assay is rapid and extremely user-friendly system, with results available in just over one hour with almost no labor involved. In few laboratories its low throughput and qualitative results may be a disadvantage in some clinical settings.

Transient pancytopenia as an adverse hematologic reaction due to ticlopidine. We present a case of transient pancytopenia due to ticlopidine in 66-year-old woman who was administrated with ticlopidine as a primary prevention of heart failure. The first sign was a skin rush which was followed by ticlopidine cessation. Two days later she developed septic shock, pneumonia and neutropenia (600 cells/mm3) with decrease of platelats, erytrocytes count and hemoglobin. Blood transfusions were not required. After treatment with antibiotics according to antibiogram the patient recovered and was dismissed after 38 days with normal blood morphology. We conclude that ticlopidine was the most probable cause of transient pancytopenia. Severe adverse hematological effects due to ticlopidine occur in 0.8-2.3% cases. Thus treatment with ticlopidine should be cerfully considered.

9 pregnancies (in 6 women) complicated by autoimmune thrombocytopenia were studied. Corticosteroids and/or azathioprine and/or intravenous immunoglobulins (IgG i.v.) were administered to 5 women during pregnancy. 1 complete remission (CR) was achieved after 3 mo. of treatment by corticosteroids and azathioprine. In peripartum period the treatment was administered in 7 cases (corticosteroids, IgG i.v., platelet transfusion). There were no haemorrhagic complications during peripartum period (8 vaginal delivery, 1 cesarean section). In 3 of 5 examined cases IgG antiplatelet antibody was detected. Study group was to small to define the correlation between level of antiplatelet antibodies and neonatal thrombocytopenia. 10 infants were born. 4 infants (including siblings) were found to have normal platelet counts immediately after delivery. They mothers were treated by IgG i.v. in 2 cases and 1 women in CR at the time of delivery. 4 infants were thrombocytopenic but required no treatment. Duration time of thrombocytopenia was 1 to 4 weeks. In these cases mothers were treated only by corticosteroids or had no therapy.
