TECHNOLOGICAL progress ,DEVELOPED countries ,INDUSTRIAL productivity ,HYPOTHESIS ,BUSINESS enterprises ,COUNTRIES - Abstract
There exist many examples of countries that have seriously reduced, over the past 150 years, the development gap vis-à-vis economic leaders. The decisive factor was the rapid increase of the total factor productivity (TFP), possible due to the technological progress. In the article, the author verified 6 important hypotheses underlying the Productivity Strategy 2030 published by the Polish government, on the basis of the experience of 96 countries around the world over the last 60 years. Most of these hypotheses were positively verified. However, when implementing the Strategy, one should remember that the increase in the aggregate productivity observed throughout the economy is only the combined effect of the increase in productivity occurring at the enterprise level. Therefore, the pursuit of more developed countries requires, first of all, the creation of appropriate conditions for the development of enterprises. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

NONPROFIT sector , *SOCIAL policy , *SOCIAL indicators , *DEFINITIONS ,DEVELOPED countries - Abstract
Since the outset of the 21st century, social innovations have become a popular concept in the description of solutions applied in the social policy of highly developed countries, different from those typical for traditional welfare regimes. In the expert discourse, the concept of innovation often has been associated with new forms of social economy. This article aims to present the inadequacy of the application of the concept of social innovation to the solutions that, in the light of the adopted definition, are no longer innovative. The paper develops an analysis of the up-to-date literature and available data on selected indicators relating to the social economy sector. As a result, current solutions were critically analysed and several questions, relevant from the perspective of future criticism of the innovativeness of country level solutions in this area, have been posed. There are currently more than 80 different autoimmune diseases, affecting approximately 100 million people worldwide. The etiology of most autoimmune diseases is unknown. The highest incidence of these diseases is in the developed countries and they are more common in women than in men. Among the most often listed factors responsible for the onset of autoimmunity are genetic predisposition and the phenomenon known as molecular mimicry. The latter stems from a similarity between microbial antigens and antigens present in the human body (self antigens). It is believed that such homology is responsible for the production of auto-antibodies and in consequence attack of the immune system against host tissues and organs. However, the main molecular factors responsible for these diseases in most cases remain unknown. While pathogenesis of many autoimmune diseases indicates the presence of molecular mimicry, at the same time the similarities between the own and foreign structures do not always result in autoimmunity. Therefore, prediction of such crucial homology responsible for the development of autoimmune disease is extremely difficult. In this paper we present examples of autoimmune diseases such as type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, reactive arthritis and the potential contribution of micro-organisms to the mechanism of molecular mimicry. The purpose of the article This paper analysis Hurst exponents calculated with the use of the Siroky method in two time intervals of 625 (H625) and 1250 (H1260) sessions for the following assets: (the number of assets for a given group in brackets): Stock indices (74), currency pairs divided into segments: USD exchange rate in relation to 42 other currencies (USDXXX), EURO exchange rate in relation to 41 other currencies (EURXXX), JPY exchange rate in relation to 40 other currencies (JPYXXX) and other currency pairs (12). In total, 209 financial instruments were analyzed. Methodology: Hurst coefficient calculation with the use of the following methods; Siroky, Detrended Moving Average (DMA) and Detrended Fluctuation Analysis (DFA). Results of the research: The Hurst coefficient values calculated with the use of Siroky method are similar to the results obtained using DFA and DMA methods. The second main conclusion that was drawn from the research may be formulated as follows: exchange rates calculated for the developed-developed country currencies are more effective than in the case of the developed-emerging countries group.

The aim of the paper is to present the food security situation in selected highly developed countries and to identify consumption disparities between them and developing countries. The research is based on the data from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat), the United Nations Statistics Division, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), World Food Programme (WFP) and selected measures used by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) for the construction of the Global Food Security Index. It has been showed that to the greatest extent the problem of maintaining food security occur in developing countries which are characterised by low per capita income, while in developed countries the scale of hunger is marginal and it afflicts less than 1% of the population. On a regional scale the daily dietary energy supply is greater than the minimum dietary energy requirement in all regions of the world, but the extent to which the dietary needs are satisfied increases along with the increase in national income. In order to reduce the problem of hunger it is necessary to solve the problem of asymmetrical distribution of global income, e.g. by taking actions to accelerate the economic growth in less developed regions and increase the purchasing power of the population.

TECHNOLOGICAL innovations ,INDUSTRIAL organization (Economic theory) ,DEVELOPED countries - Abstract
International comparisons of innovation performance of industrialised countries place Poland much below the average European level, behind such countries as: Slovakia, Czech Republic or Slovenia. It is worth analysing what policies and tools are used by those, who achieve much better scores than Poland. Five countries - regularly acquiring the position of innovation leaders -are designated here as models: Sweden, Finland, Germany, United Kingdom and Denmark. In each case the article examines the level of expenses on research and development, organisational structure of conducting and coordinating research, channels of distribution of innovation methods and instruments stimulating innovation.
