Forms of activism in the age of media 2.0 take different forms, appropriate to the sociopolitical and economic situation. The following article concerns the crowdfung initiative #hot16challenge2, which emerged in the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic. It exposed the mechanisms of this type of initiative and its subversive potential due to the socio-political-economic crisis background. The aim of this paper is to identify the dimensions of activist actions #hot16challenge2, particularly in the context of crowdfunding research and practices that I refer to as civil protest.
