Maintaining of the proper predetermined paper pulp consistency on the different stages of the paper or cardboard manufacturing process significantly affects on quality and self cost of manufactured articles. The improvement of precision and repeatability of the paper pulp viscosity and consistency measurements is relevant to paper industry. Objective of the work is to improve the industrial-type paper pulp rotational consistometer. A new method for measurement of paper pulp concentration by means of a rotational viscometer was suggested which enables determining the flow consistency index K and flow behavior index n in the Ostwald-de Waele power law. The influence of the following torques on the measurement results is eliminated thanks to the new method: the friction torque in the seal of the sensitive element, the friction torque in the bearings of the shaft and the torque created under the influence of the flow with distorted flow speed profile. This is achieved by measuring the torque which acts on the sensitive element approaching the selected frequencies of sensitive element rotation both from the lower and higher frequencies. The mean torque value is calculated based on the obtained values. The measurements are conducted for two sensitive element rotation frequencies adjusted in advance. The frequency of sensitive element rotation is changed by means of a frequency converter. It is shown that by using two different rotation frequencies of the sensitive element of a rotational viscometer it is possible to define the flow consistency index and the flow behavior index. Paper pulp viscosity and consistency is defined on the basis of these two indexes. It is also suggested to average the results of viscous friction torque measurement approaching the rotation frequency of the viscometer sensitive element to the working frequency chosen for measurement from the lower and higher frequency ranges. By averaging the results of such measurement the friction torques in sealing and bearings supporting the sensitive element shaft are compensated. By changing the rotation direction of the sensitive element and by further averaging the obtained results it is possible to eliminate the influence of the asymmetrical distribution of paper pulp flow speed in the pipeline. This improves accuracy of the paper pulp consistency measurement.

The paper proposes a modern approach to the automated design of three-dimensional models of wood drying chambers and the study of their operation parameters using the SolidWorks Simulation tool, which makes it possible to create various information models using computer tools. Therefore, in this paper, a three-dimensional model of a wood drying chamber was developed and presented, which includes its main components: walls, ceilings, door, stacks of lumber to be dried, a fresh air supply system, a system for its circulation through fans and heating through heaters. For the automated design of three-dimensional models of all these components, the corresponding algorithms were also developed and programmatically implemented using a specialized SolidWorks application programming interface. At the same time, the developed software application takes into account the parameters entered by the user, including the size, quantity, and type of lumber to be dried. In addition, several thermal calculations were performed across the stack, including with different air velocities. This allows us to analyze the effect of this speed on the distribution of heat transfer across the stack. In general, the obtained results are automatically displayed in one of the windows of the software application. This approach makes it possible to obtain results in the background of SolidWorks with minimal user intervention. Despite the fact that such studies are carried out in SolidWorks Simulation, the graphical results, including the temperature distribution across the stack, are fully automated without user intervention. The software application also makes it possible to automatically change the geometry of a three-dimensional model of a wood drying chamber or stacks within specified limits. In turn, the use of the developed software application in combination with SolidWorks Simulation can effectively speed up the process of creating three-dimensional models of wood drying chambers and studying their operation parameters. In general, this work reflects the trend towards digital transformation in industry, opening up new opportunities for woodworking enterprises and contributing to their market competitiveness and production efficiency.

The observed trends of climate changes are strong enough to affect the living process in natural communities. This paper deals with the assessment of vulnerability and progress of National Natural Parks of Ukraine towards adaptation of their ecosystems to growing pressure of climate change. The vulnerability of the National Natural Parks to the effects of climate changes depends on their sensitivity, formed due to intrinsic attributes, like level of endemism and specific microclimate conditions at certain area. From the other side, some managerial solutions framed into the action plan for assisted climate adaptation of protected areas is also the factor of vulnerability or resilience. The assessment undertaken in the given paper addresses both components. At the first stage, the signs of climate changes at 51 parks of Ukraine (excluding those created less than 3 years ago) were studied based on the data from open sources, reports to the authorities and personal feedbacks from the staff. Then these data were summarized in terms of natural zones and generalized to define the most profound effects observed. Finally, the information about the presence and implementation of adaptation measures in the National Natural Parks was collected and evaluated as contributor to building adaptation capacity of the sites. Sensitivity and adaptation potential were rated using standard scale and the level of vulnerability was assigned to each park. The results showed varied level of vulnerability with the natural parks of the Steppe and Ukrainian Carpathians region demonstrating the highest levels. The research has also revealed generally low level of attention to the issues of climate changes on the whole and adaptation strategies implementation in particular in the activity of the National Natural Parks. However, some of the objects have already entered succession processes and diversity transformations. The most well studied issue is invasions, which are also the most covered by the countermeasures. Considering the uniqueness and high value of the ecosystems of the National Natural Parks of Ukraine, it is necessary to develop and implement action plans for the adaptation of these protected areas. At the same time, the problems typical for different natural parks are often specific due to attribution to certain natural zones, composition of communities, physical features of the territory and other properties, and therefore the creation of a universal adaptation procedure is complicated. Nevertheless, the article sets the main directions of work, which can become the basis of the corresponding adaptation plans of all parks.

The urban environment is one of the most complicated man made systems, which condition and status are hard to define, but it is essential for the survival of humans. Among the methods of the urban environment condition evaluation bioindication is one of the most simple and able to provide valuable dose-response information for efficient management of environmental safety. Being such a useful method, the bioindication has a range of disadvantages, due to dependence on single species response, which can lie within the acceptable amplitude of living fluctuations or is conditioned by factors other than human activity. Most of the researches of such type stick to one single species and attempt to build clear impact-response dependencies for specific conditions. The paper considers the possibility to combine bioindicators from different taxonomic groups in one study to receive more reliable vision of the environment status. The typical combination offered in the study is phytoindication and lichen indication, which relies on measuring plants morphological parameters and lichen diversity and distribution. The research was conducted in the city of Kherson, previously considered relatively unpolluted. The territory of the city was analyzed to define the most affecting sources of environment pollution. The background area was chosen to verify the changes in the parameters of bioindicators. The results showed that the level of anthropogenic pressure within the urban territory is considerable and demands mitigation actions, aimed at improvement of air pollution control, waste management, traffic organization and implementation of remediation activities at decommissioned facilities. The deviations between the results of lichen indication and phytoindication gave possibility to infer the possible sources and composition of pollution, thus providing basis for efficient environment protection solutions to be implemented. The paper also presents the recommendations on the combination of bioindicators to be used in various studies, depending on the purpose and type of the ecosystem under investigation. The sequence of the data processing must include the comparative analysis of the information obtained to use the differences between the results provided by different organisms for clarification of the human impacts parameters.

The paper describes the experience of restoration of the lands disturbed by the mining industry by applying proper water management of worked-out quarries reclamation. The necessity of works on regular maintenance of the anthropogenic techno-ecosystem and artificial reservoirs is highlighted. Water quality is considered to be one of the most important characteristics of water resources that determine the possibility of their rational use. Most artificial lakes are characterized by high water content of sulfate ions. Oxygen is one of the most important dissolved in water gases. The dynamics of its content is determined by physicochemical and biological processes, and the uneven vertical distribution of oxygen in the lake is accompanied by the formation of products of anaerobic decomposition of organic matter such as hydrogen sulfide, methane, and ammonia.The use of aeration systems in the world allows considering aeration as an effective tool in conditions that are critical for hydroecosystems. Aeration methods can enrich water with oxygen and improve the ecological condition of the artificial lake. The paper shows the environmental advantages of using wind energy compared to the energy generated by burning different types of fuel. In the course of research calculations were made for the operation of a water pulverizing aerator designed by Podsyadlovsky in the location of Yavoriv artificial lake (Western Ukraine). The location of the lake is favourable for tourism development as it can provide various types of recreation for both local and transit holidaymakers.The environmental advantages of the wind drive of the water pulverizing aerator designed by S. Podsiadlowski for reclamation of Yavoriv artificial lake are mathematically determined and analyzed. The environmental effect is related to the benefits of replacing the energy obtained by burning fossil fuels at a power plant with wind energy. The environmental effect, which is determined in the process of mathematical calculations and on the basis of regression equations, complements modern knowledge in the field of bottom water aeration with the use of a water pulverizing aerator based on the Podsiadlowskis concept.

Розроблено метод комплексного аналізу диференціації фоностатистичних структур авторського стилю англійської мови, який ґрунтується на поєднанні трьох статистичних критеріїв: критерію Стьюдента, критерію Колмогорова-Смірнова і критерію хі-квадрат. Поєднання цих критеріїв дає змогу підвищити достовірність диференціації авторських стилів. Для розв'язання задачі диференціації авторських стилів побудовано статистичну модель, яка підвищує достовірність результатів авторської атрибуції тексту. Розроблена програмна система реалізує метод і модель з використанням мови програмування Java, що забезпечує платформонезалежність. Для тестування програми вибрано статті С. Логан і Д. Вебстер з газети "Вільна газета" ("Freedom Paper", papers by S. Logan and D. Webster). Істотні відмінності встановлено за групами носових, дорсальних і велярних фонем за критерієм Стьюдента, за всіма вісьмома групами фонем за критерієм Колмогорова-Смірнова, істотні відмінності встановлено за групами сонорних, щілинних, дорсальних, зімкнених, губних і носових фонем за критерієм хі-квадрат. Поєднання використаних критеріїв дало змогу встановити групу фонем з найбільшою авторорозрізняльною здатністю. Це група дорсальних фонем. За цією групою можна диференціювати тексти різних авторів, що дає змогу змінімізувати кількість груп фонем, за якими здійснюється авторська атрибуція тексту.

One of the most important problems occurring while designing public transport vehicles consists in providing an effective control of the door opening systems. The methods of carrying out the investigations presented in the paper include structural and kinematic analysis of the door opening mechanisms and simulation of their operation in applied software. The paper analyses the design and operational peculiarities of the turning-and-shunting mechanism of door opening of electric public transport. The corresponding design of the mechanism is proposed. It is suggested to be driven by pneumatic drive. The simplified diagram of the mechanism is constructed. Structural and kinematic analysis of the mechanism is performed, and the analytical dependencies for describing the motion of its links during the door opening/closing are derived. The main kinematic parameters of the studied mechanism are investigated on the basis of the derived analytical dependencies in MathCAD software, as well as by means of simulating the motion of the solid-state model of the mechanism designed in SolidWorks software. The conclusions about the agreement of the results of theoretical investigations performed on the basis of numerical solving the obtained motion equations and of the virtual experiment (motion simulation in SolidWorks software) are drawn. The analysis of energy efficiency of the investigated turning-and-shunting door opening mechanism of electric public transport is carried out. Prescribing the resistance force acting on the door leaf and calculating the corresponding door motion speed during its closing, the dependency of the nominal power supply of the mechanism drive as a function of corresponding generalized coordinates was deduced. Analyzing the obtained results, the authors have established that the necessary nominal power of the turning-and-shunting mechanism drive is almost twice larger than the necessary nominal power of the widely used leaning-and-shunting mechanism. Further investigations on the subject of the paper can be performed in the direction of developing different control systems providing safe and reliable operation of the considered door opening mechanism driven be electric and pneumatic actuators.

Over the last few years, vegetable oils have become an integral food part of the vast majority of the planet's population. In order to preserve all valuable substances in vegetable oils, it is necessary to correctly choose the rational parameters of the oil extraction process. The main purpose of this research is to analyze the influence of various factors on the quantitative and force parameters of the oil extraction process and substantiate the prospective directions of automation of the screw press operation. The research methodology is focused on mathematical modeling of the pressing process and analyzing the stress-strain characteristics of the pressed material (sunflower seeds and cake) at different operational conditions and design parameters of the screw. The obtained results are presented in the form of analytical dependencies of the press output (productivity), extraction pressure, and consumed power on the screw rotational frequency and screw flight pitch. The corresponding graphical dependencies are plotted for visualization of the obtained results with reference to the existing household press LiangTai LTP200. The conclusions on the prospective directions of automation of the screw press operation are drawn. Particularly, the necessity of regulating the temperature of the pressing chamber and extracted oil by means of applying additional heating and cooling devices is substantiated. As well, the sensors that monitor the mass of the extracted oil and the consumed current of the electric motor are proposed to be installed. The rotational frequency of the screw is suggested to be adjustable by applying the frequency converter controlled by the additional electronic system based on the data obtained from the sensors. The paper may be used by scientists and engineers working on designing screw presses and improvement of their performance characteristics. Further investigations on the subject of this research may be focused on experimental verification of the qualitative and quantitative parameters of the extracted oil depending on the type of the seeds or kernels to be pressed, and operational parameters of the press (screw rotation frequency, temperature of the pressing chamber, etc.).

In this paper, the system of initial theoretical positions is considered, which is the basis of the research search for variants of cellular automata for the study of thermal and mechanical processes in 3D objects of SolidWorks, through their representation in 2D von Neumann neighborhood of the first order. The execution of this work also involves the creation of initial rules for changing the investigated system, which are necessary for the direct use of cellular automata. As a result of the verification of these rules, it was found that their number may not be enough to address specific tasks in the field of 3D research. Because of this, it was left possible to create new rules for changing the system, or changes already existing. In addition, in the process of performing this work, all the processes of scientific research, as well as the proposed initial provisions have been repeatedly tested, developed and adjusted if necessary. For successful experiments, the 3D model under study was divided into 3D cubes of the same size. The number of these 3D cubes depends on the density of the section that the user specifies manually using the appropriate item of the developed software. In addition, in this paper describes the establishment of the relationship between the faces of created 3D cubes. These dependencies were presented in the form of an appropriate relationship scheme, which is then used in the design and configuration of the corresponding system classes, which are closely related to each word, both logically and functionally. Based on the developed system classes, appropriate software was created, which is the basis of the use of cellular automata in the study of tasks in the field of 3D modeling. In addition, in this paper a graphical representation of the interrelationships between the developed classes was presented. For a better understanding of the mechanism of the class system operation, a sequence diagram was developed. With this diagram, you can see not only how the classes interact with each other but also in what sequence this interaction takes place. In the future, this work involves expanding the capabilities of the software developed, as well as filling it with mathematical functions that would allow it to be used in the study of the mechanical and mechanical processes of various 3D objects.

IUFRO's 125th Anniversary Congress was held in Freiburg, Germany, 18-22 September 2017. This event highlighted the framework of cooperation development in the field of forestry science. This paper stresses the importance of forest-related scientific research as the basis for sustainable development of forests worldwide. These studies play an irreplaceable role in deepening the understanding a wide variety of environmental, economic and social issues pertaining to forests. Therefore, developing cooperation among forestry researchers is of high societal value. In order to accomplish long-term sustainable development goals, forest researchers must also incorporate knowledge concerning biological, economic and social conditions within forests. In addition, the history of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) development was overviewed. The trends of forestry and the ways researchers' international cooperation increases the efficiency of studies was analyzed. Attention was paid to issues of IUFRO cooperation in the field of research and scientific knowledge dissemination among policy-makers, environmental and economic decision-makers. The features of IUFRO activity aimed at forest policy formulation and implementation in accordance with the requirements of the concept of sustainable forest management are revealed. Attention was focused on the problems that led to the creation of IUFRO, as well as its wide-ranging (organizational, publishing, educational, etc.) activities. IUFRO activities have achieved significant results in deepening understanding of forest ecosystem functioning, fulfilling of a wide range of functions including the provision of ecosystem services, preventing numerous destructive threats, showing the essence of multipurpose forestry and the methods of sustainable non-exhaustive forest management. Although new challenges have emerged as a result of societal transformations, the dramatic changes in the forestry sector have also led to interdisciplinary research cooperation development and new technologies implementation, especially in the field of communication. This paper discusses main themes, outcomes, achievements, new frontiers for forestry science and the take-home message of the IUFRO 125th Anniversary Congress. The paper also summarizes the outcomes of Ukrainian researchers'participation at this Congress: representative institutions, themes of presentations, co-organized session discussions etc. The themes, results, achievements, new frontiers and prospects for of forestry science development are analyzed. The results of Ukrainian scientists'participation in the work of the 125th Anniversary IUFRO Congress are summarized.

Modern technologies for processing anisotropic materials require an integrated approach to controlling the drying process, which significantly affects the quality and properties of the material. This paper investigates the development of software tools for calculating the main parameters of the drying process of anisotropic materials. The use of cellular automata in this context allows modeling and controlling the distribution of temperature, moisture content, and stresses in the dried material. The work includes the development of a structural diagram and a modeling algorithm, in particular, taking into account the anisotropy of the physical and mechanical characteristics of wood. One of the key features of the work is the possibility of extending the existing transition rules for the cellular automaton model, which allows determining the initial moisture content in the cells based on its gradient at the boundaries and in the center of the wood. Software tools implemented in C++ programming language using the cross-platform environment "Code::Blocks" and the library "wxWidgets" provide the user with an intuitive and user-friendly graphical interface. The user can define input parameters, including geometric dimensions of the material, dryer characteristics, and other process parameters. An important function of the program is the output of results in the form of graphs illustrating the distribution of temperature, moisture content and stresses at different stages of drying. The user can also specify parameters for detailed analysis and export data for further research in Microsoft Excel. The study was conducted on pine wood material, taking into account various drying parameters. The modeling results demonstrate a significant effect of time and process parameters on the distribution of moisture and stresses in the material, which is in line with real-world conditions.

Forestry in Slovakia has recently got very fast tendency of research in all levels. The introduction of complex machines and equipment, the application of new advanced technologies, the tendency to decrease energy consumption, material difficulty of products, requirements on high reliability of machines and automation in operation impose the necessity for the search of theoretical basics for wood production processes and utilization of new developing forest and wood processing techniques. The work with a chain saw is risky and has negative impact on the health of workers. It has been clear from recent findings. The limitation of these impacts has influence on technical, technological and organizational actions serving as preventive ones. That is the reason why the famous chain saw producers established different technical supports which have the influence on decrease of vibrations and noise. It is necessary to realize several actions within the maintenance of chain saws to fulfil the goals of a technical action. The paper deals with risk analysis by usage Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), which was implemented on STIHL motor chainsaw. We identified the potential failures, then we allocated to the value of occurrence, significance and detectability in the process and we also calculated the risk priority number (RPN). Application of the FMEA method allows flexibility in the case of unexpected situations and optimization of human potential abilities. FMEA is a tool preventing outages operational reliability and preventive tool for ensuring the maintenance of facilities. There are several methods of information processing regarding to reliability parameters, but some of them are very difficult and in standard operational conditions are not usable. The method of information analysis mentioned below is simple but precise enough for implementation in real working conditions.

The article deals with the current state of unemployment in Ukraine. Comparison of the unemployment rates with the European countries is conducted. The employment policy in the European Union (EU) was analyzed. The analysis and generalization of features of labour market in countries of the EU are conducted. The scientific results and tasks for further research were outlined. The actual problems of the current development of the labour market in Ukraine and countries of the EU are revealed. The main purpose of the paper is to explore the theoretical aspects of the formation of employment system and to consider the European experience of employment systems regulation in selected countries. The study revealed that in today's conditions of development of the national economy the labour market occupies an important place. One of the most important tasks of any state is defined to be the regulation of the labour market. At the present stage, the problems of the labour market become the most urgent in countries of the EU. This is due to a change in the structure of the pan-European labour market, as well as to the globalization of the world economy. The study found that overcoming unemployment and increasing employment are the main tasks of the EU. The main drivers, motivations and consequences of undeclared work in the EU are identified. The impact of the European employment strategy was studied. Regulation of EU main programs and initiatives that concern the lowering of unemployment, the main aim of which is improving of the education and employability of people was examined. Based on the analysis of the relevant European experience, challenges have been identified that should be taken into account when developing the state employment policy of Ukraine in the medium and long run periods. The recommendations regarding the borrowing of Ukraine's positive experience of the EU towards the employment policy are provided. Analysis of the labour market in the EU and Ukraine showed that the European integration of Ukraine opens the possibility for sustainable economic development. Borrowing of foreign experience will allow Ukraine to create conditions for more efficient functioning of the system of employment. The practical value of the research presented in the article is in identification of promising directions for increasing the efficiency of employment policy in Ukraine on the basis of the experience of member countries of the EU.

The state policy in forest management, reforestation and forest conservation is formed mainly depending on the dynamics of socio-political and economic relations in a country, the degree of forest relations reforming and forestry activity compliance with scientifically grounded principles of sustainable forest management. The paper considers basic directions of forest relationships improvement and forest management system reforming in Ukraine. The forestry sector is needed to be reformed using European models of forest management on the basis of national experience and traditions of forest management in the country. The reformation must rely on the system of science-based recommendations. Improving forest relations and the system of forest management in Ukraine requires appropriate scientific and methodological grounds. The conceptual approaches to reforming the socio-economic system of the country as a whole should be considered methodologically in determining the tendency of forest management and forest relations. Therefore, the forest sector cannot be described as self-regulating closed departmental structure, excluding the impact of socioeconomic factors in Ukraine. In accordance with these principles and European forestry practices, the areas of improvement of forest relations and the system of forest management in modern conditions have been identified. The problem of improving the state policy on forest management, reforestation, and forest conservation covers a wide range of legal, economic, organizational, financial, and environmental issues and requires a comprehensive solution. Forestry sector development strategy has to be flexible; it should be periodically reviewed and adapted to changes in legal, social, economic and environmental conditions of the state taking into account the advanced world trends. A gradual transition of Ukrainian forest sector to European norms of forest management requires a series of measures on adjusting forest policy, improving state forest management, strategic planning and financing of forestry activity.

Today all universities of Ukraine are characterized by increasing students' independent workload involving modern information technology. One of the areas of self-learning is the use of cloud technology in the educational process. Attractive offers for universities are provided by Microsoft and Google option of educational use of cloud services Microsoft Office 365 and Google Apps for Education. The use of these services will provide more tools that make a real learning process easier, more accessible and interesting. Such a project started on December 1, 2016 in Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University. It is a portal based on Microsoft cloud technology and software Office. As the benefits of the project, users of the university portal (registered students and teachers) will be able to share and work on documents, create special websites for specific user groups, leadership and participation in joint research projects, exchange instant messages between users of web conferencing, lectures and seminars remotely, the use of simulators, email with enhanced features, and install the appropriate software on their personal devices for communication with the portal from any user-friendly place. Consequently, the introduction of cloud technologies in Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University aims to primarily facilitate the students' learning process. We can summarize that the benefits for students' individual work using information technologies in educational process are as follows: free and permanent access to materials from any place convenient and any personal device connected to the Internet; reducing the time for searching the necessary educational documents and materials for independent preparation for classes, practical tasks, term papers, research projects; opportunity to participate in research projects and work on the task of an individual student and the group under the guidance of a teacher or project manager; the ability to create student's personal space from blogging to discuss specific themes; controlling access to documents. To conclude, the use of modern information technology in the organization of students' independent work contributes effectively to the formation of professional skills of future specialists.

Cellulose materials such as wood, cotton, linen, paper, and cane and also products of their mechanical and chemical processing are widely used in industry and transport related to combustible materials due to their ability to emit flammable gases and vapors at the time of their decomposition and to leave solid residue (charcoal) as end product of pyrolisis under normal conditions. The research is aimed at defining immediate data as to the processes occurring within the samples of the materials during their dynamic heating in the course of thermogravimetric studies. We studied pine wood sawdust in the atmosphere of both normal air and that containing lowered oxygen content due to additional nitrogen induction. Thermogravimetric study of the processes of thermal degradation under dynamic regime was conducted using Q-1500 D derivatograph in order to reveal the temperature range within which thermal degradation of the materials is the most intensive. The results of the study of the process of pine wood thermal degradation show that endothermic processes take place within the wood samples under research upon reaching temperature equal to 100 ºC, the former are accompanied with loss of the samples' weight. In addition the temperatures corresponding to the commencement and maximum rate of the degradation process served as characteristics of thermal behaviour of the studied gas-air mixtures. The temperatures at which weight loss of the samples reached were determined from the thermograms and stages of the decomposition processes as well as relative weight loss when heated to 800 ºC were estimated. Moreover, we calculated magnitudes of the activation energy for wood thermal decomposition at different oxygen content in the air-gas environment. Thus, comparative analysis of the thermograms of the thermal-oxidative wood degradation at different oxygen content evidences that as the latter lowers in the environment wood pyrolisis occurs more slowly and is accompanied with higher energy consumption. Activation energy for the wood at its thermal decomposition rises more than twice as oxygen content decreases.

After the Chernobyl disaster in 1986 large areas of agricultural land were contaminated with radionuclides. Most of them had short periods of half-life time and are inactive now. However several radionuclides with relatively long periods of half-life time – especially 137Cs and 90Sr are not. Even small amounts of them still may be dangerous both plants and animals due to low-dose effect. In this paper we study impact of silicon-containing mixtures (nanoparticles of tripoli and analcime mixed with sapropel and peat) on the migration rates of 137Cs and 90Sr in soil-plant system. In order to conduct the research we chose the experimental plots located in Kyiv Polesie on Gleyic Phaeozems (0-20 cm). Humus content was 1.48±0.51 %, рНKCl 4.91‑5.08. 137Cs and 90Sr contents were determined by ICP-MS method. Nonparametrical statistical analysis of experimental data was made. The difference was considered significant when P < 0.05. In the course of research we have found that application of the proposed mixtures leads to the immobilization of cesium and strontium in soil and significantly reduced their activity in plants by over 35 %. We suggest this fact to be caused by accumulation of sols of polysilicic acids in soil according to the scheme: (SiO2) x + 2H2O ↔ H4SiO4 + (SiO2) x-1, 2H4SiO4 → (HO)3SiOSi (OH)3 + H2O. Additional experiments are needed to determine whether partial dehydration of these sols due to summer droughts may intensify transport of radionuclides from soil to plants. To conclude, application of the mixtures that consist of nanoparticles of tripoli and analcime mixed with sapropel and peat slows down the migration rates of 137Cs and 90Sr from soil to plants on Gleyic Phaeozems.
