Background and Objectives: Adult onset Still’s disease (AOSD) is a rare systemic, inflammatory disorder with unknown etiology. This disorder is characterized by spiking fever, evanescent rash and joint involvement. Elevated CRP, ferritin levels, white blood cells and platelet counts are some laboratory features of this disorder. hyperferritinemia may play a useful role in diagnosis and monitoring the disease. Case Report: In this article a 27 year old male with fever, sore throat, myalgia, splenomegaly and hyperferritinemia is described, who was diagnosed and treated as a case of adult onset Stillchr('39')s disease.

This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of varying dietary levels of protein (45%, 50%, 55% and 60%) and energy (20, 22 and 24 kjg^-1) on the growth, survival rate, food performance and body chemical composition of sobaity Juvenile. 36, 300 Lit polyethylene containers equipped with a flow-through water system (with 1 Lit/min water exchange) were provided and each stocked with 18 Juvenile fish (27.99 ± 0.14 g weight). During the rearing period, a biometric measurement was carried out once fortnightly. After a 56-day rearing period, results showed the significant effect of the treatments (the interaction between protein and energy) and the varying levels of protein and energy on the growth and food performance, survival rate and body composition) P≤0.05) of the fish, but the effect of the dietary protein was not significant on the FCR, PER, fat and body crude fiber (P>0.05). Also, the effect of dietary energy was not significantly effective (P> 0.05) on the growth and food performances, but was significantly effective on the survival rate and body composition) P≤0.05) of the fish. Results also showed the highest amount of growth of the fish in the diet with 60% CP and 24 kJg^-1 energy, the highest survival rate in the diet with 55% CP and 22kJg^-1 energy and the best FCR and PER in the diet with 50% CP and 24 kJg^-1 energy. According to the results of the present study, 50% CP and 22 kJg^-1 energy are recommendable to cover the dietary protein and energy requirements of sobaity fish in the Juvenile stage.

In this research was used sodium chloride in feed supplement to stimulate ion- osmotic regulation system of Rutilus Kutum juveniles (about one gram) in fresh water environment.The purpose of this experiment was to improve survival and growth ability of juveniles’ fish in brackish water during times of transition. The initial average weightes of Juveniles’ fish were 0.91±0.01 g (mean±SE). Experiments carried out in two phases. In step one, the Juveniles’ fish were kept for 15 days in fresh water and fed with commercial diet plus NaCl supplement (control without NaCl supplement, 5, 7 and 10 percent) in four treatments, each treatment inclusive three replication. In the second step, the fish transferred to brackish water (12.5 psu) and fed for 28 days with a commercial diet (without NaCl supplement). The results showed that no change compared to control treatment in renal tissue in step one. The difference between the kidneys were not in fish fed with NaCl supplement and without it. Nevertheless, a significant difference was observed between the size of the glomeruli and renal tubules between fresh and brackish water environments (between stage one and two), (P0.05). The results showed that the fish fed dietary supplements of sodium chloride 10% versus the control treatment had less weight gain. Therefore, the was obtained the highest weight gain and growth performance (condition factor, specific growth rate) and the highest feed efficiency and protein efficiency ratio and the lowest feed conversion ratio in treatment 2 with the feeding of 5% NaCl in dietary supplements. One of the most important bacterial fish diseases which has caused some outbreaks in rainbow trout farms in Iran is streptococcusis .The farmers were suffering from huge economic losses due to the disease outbreaks in different rainbow trout farms in Iran. The aim of our study was to determine rate of streptococcusis incidence in different stage of growth in farmed rainbow trout in Haraze River, Mazandaran province. Fish and water samples were randomly collected and measured of randomly in10 selected farms, monthly throughout a year. After clinical observations, Isolation and recognition of strep strains were made using biochemical tests. Some Environmental factors include Nitrate, Nitrite, Temperature, pH, Ammonia and DO measured during sampling periods. According to our results 4.6% of juvenile samples showed clinical singe of streptococcusis while only0.7% of them had strep. Contamination .These rates in adult samples were 8.9 and 1 percent respectively. Major isolated bacterial strain was Streptococcus uberis. Incidence of streptococcusis in rainbow trout 20% affected by fluctuation of Nitrite, temperature and DO. Management of these factors can decrease rate of disease outbreaks.

Caspian trout (Salmo trutta caspius) is one of valuable fishes of the Caspian sea for people living in the Northern coastal area of Iran. Since fish stock and natural resources protection is one the Iranian fisheries research objectives, the most activity on Caspian trout rehabilitation was focused on releasing thousands of smolts in the rivers discharge to Caspian Sea. Catch statistics of this species has declined over last decades thus this study on quality of provided brood stocks and producing fries with suitable quality can help rehabilitation and rearing of this valuable species. Several rivers were considered for providing brooders to keep genetic resources variety of sea stocks. In spawning season 25 (9 male, 16 female) and 30 (5 male, 25 female) brooders were collected from fishermen in Mazandaran rivers and Gyilan coasts provinces respectively. After propagation and larvae rearing, 11500 (10-15 g.) and 50000 (less than 10 g.) juveniles were released in Gyilan and Mazandaran rivers respectively. This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of different levels of prebiotic GroBiotic®-A on growth factors, survival rate, body composition and intestinal microbiota of cultured juvenile beluga (Hous huso) in the sturgeon culture center (Samandak, Sari). Four groups of beluga sturgeon with mean weight of 40.82± 5.8 g were raised for 56 days in fiber glass tanks (20 fish to each tank) and feeding with different levels of GroBiotic®-A with concentrations of % 0, % 0.5, %1.0 and % 2.0 (Three replicates were used for each concentration). At the end of the trial, growth factors (final weight, weight gain, SGR, CF feed conversion ratio (FCR), body composition and intestinal microbiota (total viable bacteria and Lactobacillus spp. levels) were determined and compared with control group. Our results confirmed that juveniles fed on diet supplemented with 2% GroBiotic®-A had significantly higher growth factors and survival rate compared to control and 0.5% treatment (P0.05). The project is funded by the CASPECO Project which is the Third Phase of the GEF supported project in the Caspian Sea region titled “The Caspian Sea: Restoring Depleted Fisheries and Consolidation of a Permanent Regional Environmental Governance Framework”, and implemented by the Iranian Fisheries Research Organization (IFRO) in partnership with four Coastal Research Centers affiliated to IFRO, Coldwater Fishes Research Centre (CFRC).The project's objective is to improve the conservation and restoration of Caspian Salmon (Salmo trutta caspius) stocks. In accordance with IUCN criteria Caspian Salmon is placed in the red list of endangered fish. In the recent decades the destruction of habitats for juveniles, reduction of genetic diversity and fish immune system were main causes of the Caspian salmon decline. Numbers of public meetings were held with participation of fishing communities’ representatives, experts, relevant local authorities and experts of the IFRO and Iranian Fisheries Organization (IFO), Iran Environment Protection Organization (IEPO), Water Resource Management (Ministry of Energy) and University senior professors, in order to create interaction and understanding of the project objectives. Educational awareness and extension program were conducted with the involvement of fisheries communities, private sector and NGO associations. The results of the project suggests that cross-sectoral coordination for sustainable fisheries can be achieved through building partnerships and enhancing communication between the environment, private, fisheries sectors and academia. Cross-sectoral cooperation through this project improved public awareness on growing risks facing Caspian Salmon from different sources including local sources (illegal fishing and over-fishing, urban wastewater, environment destruction, industrial pollutants, pollution of air and water resources), new emerging and invasive organisms, climate change, implications of the Caspian salmon population decline on economic and social affairs of the people who depend on them for their livelihood and food security and their role in fish stock protection. The project, through its capacity building, extension and educational programs and efforts to link science to management, could translate scientific findings into an action agenda for managers and policy makers that can bring an improvement in the future of the Caspian Sea salmon stock.

Study of tagging effects on survival rate of Caspian trout (Salmo trutta caspius) fries before releasing to natural habitat was a part of a large research plan on conservation and restoration of Caspian trout stocks in the Southern Caspian by Coldwater Fishes Research Center. Catching brooders, propagation, larvae and juvenile rearing were carried out in Southern coasts and rivers of Caspian sea and in shahid Bahonar propagation center in Kelardasht, Mazandaran (North of Iran) in autumn 2012. 150 fries for each treatment (5, 10 and 20 g fries and Plastic T tag, elastomer tag and control treatments) anesthetized, weighed (g), measured (mm), tagged, disinfected and introduced to cement ponds. Fries were kept and fed for 5 days and their behavior and responses to food, infection of wound and mortality were recorded. No mortality were observed in all treatments, fries were shocked for few hours after handling and did not take food but they started to feed from the first day after tagging and there was no infection in macroscopic observation of wound. The present study was carried out to evaluate the possibility of rearing the orange-spotted grouper (E. coioides) juvenile to marketable size in buoyant cages in Khuzestan province coast waters. Juvenile fishes for the study prepared from Bandar-e-Imam Marine Fish Station and reared them in 5-ton fiber glass tank for one year period using common pellet feed and trash fish to reach 50 g mean weight. Young fishes were stocked in 6 rectangular cages (3×3×3 m) to assess their growth performance with two test feeds i.e. pellet feed and trash fish (3 cages for each treatment) with the density of 30 fish /m^3 (810 fish/cage) for 143 days rearing period (started on July). Better growth with significant difference (p0.05). Results also showed that the FCR for the trash fish was acceptable, and hence it is recommended to consider the trash fish price and its labour cost befor using it as the main diet in cage culture activity.

This research has been carried out to study on the effect of different levels of protein (45, 50, 55 and 60%) and energy (20, 22 and 24 KJ/g) on growth performances, survival rate, nutrition factors and chemical composition of juvenile fish of silver sea bream (Sparidentex hasta) wheighing 27 grams.The experiment was done with 12 treatments and 3 replicate for each treatment. The rearing period was 56 days in 300 liter polyethylene tanks (with 200 liter water volume and with water exchange of 1 liter/min). In each tank eighteen fish were stocked. Biometry was done in every two weeks. At the end of experiment one fish was used for chemical analysis of body. Finally, with consider to obtain results from Two-way ANOVA, the 50% of protein level and 22 KJ/g of energy level is suitable for making nutrition for this species.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of Fructo-oligosaccharide (FOS) on growth and survival performances of sturgeon juvenile fish (Acipenser stellatus). 90 sturgeon fry fishes (average weight 30.16±0/14 gram) has been brought from Sturgeon International, Research Institute and stored in fiberglass tanks using randomize design with 3 treatments each with 3 replicates in relative constant physico-chemical water parameters(P>0.05) then fed with basal adaptive food for two weeks. Fry fed 11 weeks with diets containing 0% (Basal food), 1% and 2% oligofructose (Raftilose p95, Sigma Co.) added to the basal food. The results revealed that 1% pribiotic compare to other treatments caused increasing weight gain, specific growth rate, feed conversion, feed efficiency, protein efficiency ratio and liver indices significantly (p< 0.05) but there is no any significant difference between treatment's survival rates (p> 0.05). At the end of experiment, after bleeding from sample fries, the hematological characters showed that there are no any differences between hemoglobin, WBC and RBC numbers, hematocrit, MCV, MCH and MCHC between treatments(P>0.05) although the number of WBC in 1% and numbers of neutrophils in 1 and 2% prebiotic had differences with zero% significantly (P< 0.05). Based on these results good influence on the improving growth and feeding performances by oligofroctose as prebiotic was proved in Acipenser stellatus fries and 1% level was the best.

The present study was carried out in order to establish an economical affective diet so that the white leg shrimp grows well in the suthern part conditin of Iran. With the consideration of 3 dietary energy levels (E1=262, E2=312 and E3=362 kcal 100 g -1diet) and 6 ratios of fish meal:soybean meal (P1=100%, P2=80%, P3= 60%, P4=40%, P5= 20% and P6=0%), 18 experimental diets were established. Completely randomized design was used to assign 54 polyethylene 300 litrs round tanks provided by aeration and flow through water systems and was stocked by 19 juvenile as 3 replicates to each shrimps (0.77±00 g). After 56 days growing period maximum growth and nutritional performances were respectively observed in the P6E1(containing 100% soybean meal and 262 kcal 100 g -1diet) and P5E1(containing 80% soybean meal and 262 kcal 100 g -1diet). Also most survival rate of the shrimp was in the P5E2 (containing 80% soybean meal and 312 kcal 100 g 1diet) and P3E3 (containing 40% soybean meal and 362 kcal 100 g -1diet) respectively. Results of the present study suggest the possibility replacements of at least 80% of dietary fish meal by soybean meal in the diet of white leg western shrimp in the condition of southern part of Iran. This study was to investigate the possibility of pellet production for grow out common carp considering attractiveness and stability of the pellets. The experiment consisted of two periods and was conducted at the Caspian Sea ecology research center in 2011 and 2012. In period one, two types of pellet with similar protein level (31%) and different energy contents (3000 and 3500 cal/g) were formulated by the ingredients used in fish feed industry. In period two, 316 juvenile carp with initial weight of 27.9g were assigned randomly to 9 fiberglass tanks (4×4×1 m), with three replicates for each treatment. The fish were fed by three diets throughout the eight weeks study , two diets were formulated in the current study and third one was a commercial carp diet with 25% protein. The results showed that feeding with diet containing 31% protein and 3500 cal/g energy led to a feed conversion ratio of 3, but this value was recorded 1.9 for commercial diet. A 2 × 4 factorial design was conducted to study the effects of dietary protein and energy levels on growth performance of juvenile beluga (Huso huso) with average weight of 49.85 ± 1.64 g. Experiments were conducted with two dietary protein levels (40 and 45%) and four dietary energy level (18.5, 19.8, 21.1 and 22.4 MJ/kg diet) by ratio P/E (18.03 to 24.14 mg/kj). Fish were fed the experimental diets for 110 days. In each of the protein levels (40 and 45%), the feed efficiency, body weight increase, Protein efficiency ratio, specific growth rate, final body weight and total feed intake of fish improved significantly as dietary energy levels increased (P≤ 0.05). Growth of fish fed high- energy diets was significantly higher than those of fish fed low- energy diets at 40 and 45% dietary protein levels (P≤ 0.05). Protein content of carcass increased when dietary protein increased, but there was no significant different (P≥ 0.05) between 40 and 45 % protein. Lipid content of fish fed diet high- energy level was significantly higher than those of fish fed low dietary energy (P≤ 0.05). So the maximum growth and weight (22.4 ± 5.3 gr) was observed in treatment, that were fed diets containing 45% protein & 22.4 mega joule crude energy. Considering that no significant difference were affected for among the diet for the parameters studied, the diet containing 40 % protein, 21 % fat and 21.1 mega Joule crude energy per kilogram diet with a P/E ratio of 20 mg protein per kilo joule from a good quality source is a suitable diet in terms of physiology and economy can be considered a suitable diet to produce maximum growth in juvenile beluga in the weight class 49 to 200g.

This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary autochthonous Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Aspergillus niger on the growth performance, survival rate, ammonia excretion, immune response and the intestinal microbiota of juvenile beluga sturgeon (Huso huso). Beluga juveniles with average (±SD) weight of 31.8±2.81 g were randomly allocated into 12 oval tanks (1000 l) at a density of 30 fish per tank and triplicate groups and were fed either with a basal control diet (no supplemented with probiotic) or with the basal diet supplemented with S. cerevisiae and A. niger (2×106, 4×106 and 6×106 cells g-1). After 8 weeks of feeding on the experimental diets, growth factors, survival rate, ammonia excretion, immunity parameters and gut microbiota were measured. The results indicated that dietary supplementation of 6×106 (cells g-1) S. cerevisiae and A. niger significantly improved growth indicators, survival rate, immune parameters and ammonia excretion compared to the control treatment. Additionally, total autochthonous intestinal fungus probiotic and Lactobacillus spp. counts were affected by dietary treatment. The results showed that dietary supplementation of S. cerevisiae and A. niger (6×106 cells g-1) had positive effects on growth and immunity factors in cultured juveniles beluga.

For improving the hydro-stability of pelleted feed of juvenile Beluga in confined area and its growth performances, a nutritional experiment was conducted for 8 weeks duration, using sodium bentonite as a binder. In this experiment, four treatments with a level of 0, 1, 1.5 and 2 percent with iso-nitrogenus (45±0.61) and iso-lipedic (16±0.77) were formulated and feed to triplicate group of fish. Three-hundred and seventy five juvenile Beluga of size (22±0.7g) were randomly selected and distributed between 12 fiber glass tanks of 500L capacity. The juvenile beluga which was fed with diet containing 1.5% sodium bentonite had the highest RGR, PER and FER and shown significant with other treatments (p0.05).In general, treatment 1.5% sodium bentonite was shown to be the most reliable one.

Fish specimens along with water samples were collected from 10 haphazardly selected fish farms on a monthly basis throughout a year. After clinical observations, isolation and recognition of strep strains were undertaken using biochemical and PCR tests. The results showed that 4.6% of juvenile fish showed clinical sings of streptococcusis while only 0.7% had strep. contamination. These rates in adult specimens were 8.9 and 1 percent, respectively. The main isolated bacterial strain was Streptococcus uberis.

This study investigated the ontogeny of some digestive enzyme and explored the effects of photoperiod on stomach (pepsin) and intestine enzyme activity (alkaline phosphatase and Namino peptidase) in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) larvae juvenile. About 3600 larval rainbow trout in first feeding (18 days after hatching) with an average initial weight 119±0.009 mg were distributed in plastic tanks in four treatments (300 larvae in each replicate). Four light treatments consisting of 14 to 10 h, 10 to 14 h, 4 to 20 h and 24 to 0 h (light: dark), were compared in triplicates for 6 weeks. Finally, a random sampling from larvae was undertaken on days 1, 3, 5, 8, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 39 and 44 days after the onset of first feeding. According to the results, the digestive enzymes activity in fish larvae and juveniles had a similar change trend with age at all photoperiods. In addition, at the end of experiment, the specific activity of pepsin and Namino peptidase were the highest in 24h Light treatment, but there was no significant difference in specific activities of alkaline phosphatase (p>0.05). The results demonstrated that growth and digestive enzymes activity of rainbow trout larvae and juvenile are improved by applying of longer photoperiod in rearing conditions.

In this study, some non-specific immune responses, hematology and biochemical parameters in rainbow trout juveniles (16 gr mean weight) and their resistance to Streptococcus iniae were evaluated following oral administration of Echinacea purpurea and Astragalus sp. extract. Three concentrations (0.5, 1 and 1.5 gr/kg of feed) of Echinacea purpurea and three concentrations (2, 3 and 5 gr/kg of feed) of Astragalus sp extract and control group were used for 60 days. Parameters evaluated included: levels of C4, C3 (complement components), free oxygen radicals (respiratory burst), Lysozyme, numbers of lymphocytes, monocytes and neutrophils. In the end, the relative survival rate (RSR) of fish was evaluated against S. iniae. The results showed that the levels of C3, lysozyme, oxygen free radicals, the number of neutrophils and lymphocytes in the experiment groups (the highest dose) compared to control group were increased significantly (p 0.05). The relative survival rates of fish following challenge with Streptococcus iniae, were 91/11, 93/33 and 44/44 percent in experiments (Echinacea purpurea and Astragalus sp.) and control groups, respectively. In conclusion, it may be state that Echinacea purpurea and Astragalus sp. extracts enhance the non-specific immune system and fish resistance against Streptococcusis, and it seems it can be used as immunostimulant in feed. The effect of soy bean concentrate (SPH) was evaluated on growth index and body composition of Siberian Sturgeon (A. baerii) for 8 weeks. A total of 120 Acipenser baerii juveniles (initial body weight 186.44 ±31.3gr mean ±SD) (4 treatment) were reared in 12 fiberglass tanks and fed to the saturation with four experimental diets in which fish meal was replaced by SPH at 0%, 10%, 20% and 30% namely SPH0 ,SPH10, SPH20 and SPH30, respectively. Biometry was carried out monthly. At the end of experiment, 30% of total fish killed and transported to laboratory for determination of body composition. Result showed no significant differences in final weight (FW), specific growth rate (SGR), protein efficiency ratio (PER) and feed efficiency ratio (FCR) of fish fed SPH20 and SPH30 compared to control diet. In addition, body protein and lipid were increased by increasing of soy bean concentrate in diets. The highest body protein and lipid were recorded in fish fed SPH20. Result of this investigation showed that soy bean concentrate was potentially suitable for fish meal replacement in diets of Acipenser baerii.

In this study, the effect of ethanolic extracts of Sargassum angustifolium on growth and survival of shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei juvenile was investigated under challenge with shrimp pathogen bacteria Vibrio harveyi. Powder form of the extract was bioencapsulated in Artemia and fed to L. vannamei juvenile reared as 5 groups inclouding C- (unenriched Artemia, without bacteria), C+ (unenriched Artemia, with bacteria), T1 (enriched Artemia with 200 mg l-1 SA extract, with bacteria), T2 (enriched Artemia with 400 mg l-1 SA extract, with bacteria), T3 (enriched Artemia with 600 mg l-1 SA extract, with bacteria). One week after culture all groups except C- were inoculated with V. harveyi at the rate of 1.5 × 108 CFU ml-1 for 15 minutes then after every water exchange 10 ml of V. harveyi at the rate of 1.5 × 107 CFU ml-1 was added to aquaria. Nutrient and chemical composition, TVN, bacteria, yeast, mold and carcass performance, of aquatic feeds which make in this province were determined. In order to above investigation three commercial aquatic steam pelleted feeds samples for stage of growth and fattening were taken randomly from farm and aquatic factory product. In first trail feed sampled were analyzed for dry matter, crud protein, ether extract, ash, phosphorous, TVN, bacteria, yeast and mold computation. The present study was designed and performed to investigate the eefect of long-term some feeding strategies (starvation, restricted feeding at rate of 1% biomass per tank and satiate feeding as control) on growth performance and body composition of juvenile Siberian sturgeon (Acipenser baerii Brandt 1869) for 8 weeks. In this regard, 270 juveniles Siberian sturgeon (average weight 54 ± 6/27 g and density 1.5 g/l) were distributed in three treatments (with three replicates) in 9 fiberglass tanks (1050 l). For all fish in each tank, body weight and total length were individually recorded at a biweekly interval. At the termination of the experiment period, five fish per replicate were caught randomly for proximate composition. Results showed that growth performance of Siberian sturgeon was affected significantly by starvation and restricted feeding periods. Moisture and lipid contents were differed significantly in all treatments; which the highest moisture and lipid contents were observed in starved and control fish, respectively. Protein content in starved fish was significantly lower than other groups, whereas ash contents were not significantly different among the treatments. In general, weight loss and other growth factors of juveniles siberian sturgeon during the food shortage were refered to mobilizing the body lipid reservesand then body protein sources and replacing with water. In fact, juvenile Siberian sturgeon can conserve body protein stores better than lipids during the food shortage period.

According to the results of the present study, 34% Cp and 262 kcal. 100g^-1 DE could be suggested as suitable levels to be considered in the diet of the white pacific prawn in the grow-out stage.

This study was conducted to determine the effect of replacing fish meal with soybean meal on growth rate, feed conversion ratio and chemical composition of carcass, fillet and liver in juvenile stellate sturgeon (Acipenser stellatus). As in Treatments one (F), two (S1), three (S2), four (S3) and five (S4) 0, 10, 20, 30 and 40 percent of fish meal was replaced with soybean meal, respectively. Five isonitrogenous and isocaloric diets formulated containing 44 percent crude proteins and 4374 Kcal gross energy kg-1 diet. Individual body weights of fish were measured every three week. Fish were sampled randomly from each treatment for whole body, fillet and liver proximate analysis. Based on the results, weight gain (WG) and feed conversion ratio (FCR) had significant difference among the treatments (P< 0.05), but ash content have not significant difference among the diets (P>0.05). Significant differences were found in fillet lipid content (P0.05). Liver proximate composition of fish did not significant difference (P>0.05).

A study was undertaken to determine the effects of various dietary carbohydrate to lipid ratios on growth indices, feed performance and body composition of benni (Barbus sharpeyi) juveniles. Nine iso-nitrogenous (25% crude protein) and iso-caloric (3.5 kcal/g digestible energy) semipurified diets with varying carbohydrate to lipid (CHO L) ratios (0.8 to 8.8 g/g) were tested for 8 weeks with three replicates. Each replicate was stocked with 20 fish (initial mean weight 16.47 ± 0.25 g) that were fed to satiation thrice daily. Twenty seven flow-through fiberglass tanks of 300 L capacity with a flow rate of 1.5 L min-1 were used for rearing the fish. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of dietary oligofructose (1, 2 and 3%) on blood profiles of beluga Huso huso juveniles (18.77±0.76g). After 7 weeks feeding on experimental diets hematological parameters, metabolic products (cholesterol, glucose and total protein) and serum enzymes (lactate dehydrogenase, alkaline phosphatase, alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase) were measured. Compared to the control group (0% oligfructose), oligofructose had no effects on red blood cell counts (RBC), mean corposcular volume (MCV), mean cellular hemoglobin concentration (MCH) or mean cell hemoglobin concentration (MCHC) (P>0.05). However, hematocrit (Hct), hemoglobin concentration (Hb) and leucocyte counts (WBC) were significantly higher in fish fed 2% oligofructose (P0.05). These results indicate an immunomodulatory effect and the potential to reduce serum cholesterol levels in beluga sturgeon.

Growth parameters from the larval stage to 1 g were studied also. The fry with 300 mg weight, were released in to 3ponds.specimens were separated to tree experimental categories. fishes were fed with artificial food and also with the natural products of the ponds which were enriched with organic fertilizers, after being equally stocked in the ponds .During the experiment, oxygen level ,PH, turbidity, and temperature were measured . Monthly fry samples were taken, for weight and length biometrical analysis and also determination of the weight gain percentage, average daily growth rate, specific growth rate. Results have indicated adaptations and considerable growth in this species, with an increase from the initial weight of 300 mg to an average of 13.5±1.6 mg in 50 days period until the end of November for fingerlings.Catla was gain 1 g. during 15 day while Roho and Merigal were gain 1 g. during 14 and 10 days respectively. Results revealed that the Indian majour carps compatibility with the condition in Gilan province was succesfull and the combination of species and optimization of their compatibility specialy in other provinces like Sistan and Baluchestan were remind for futhre studies.

The probiotic effects of inactive yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae var. ellipsoideus was studied on growth performance, survival and intestinal microbiota of beluga juveniles (Huso huso). The study was done in complete randomize design that included feeding of beluga juveniles with diets supplemented with 0 (control), 1, 2 and 5% yeast (4 treatments with 3 replicates). Beluga juveniles (11.40±0.56g) were randomly allocated in 12 oval tanks at a density of 35 fish per tank and triplicate group were fed with experimental diets. At the end of the trial, growth factors (final weight, weight gain, SGR, CF) as well as feed conversion ratio (FCR), body composition (protein, lipid, ash, moisture) and intestinal microbiota (total viable bacteria and Lactobacillus spp. levels) were determined. Our results confirmed that juveniles fed on diet supplemented with 5% S. cerevisiae var. ellipsoideus had significantly higher final weight, weight gain, specific growth rate (SGR) and lower food conversion ratio compared to control and 1% treatment (P0.05). The study of body composition showed no significant difference between treatments (P>0.05). Total viable bacteria and Lactobacillus spp. count were significantly higher in 5% treatment compared to control (P0.05).

The possibility of replacing fish meal with plant protein sources (soybean meal and corn gluten) for beluga (initial body mass 159.55±2.14g) was studied in autumn 2009. Experimental feeds with 46.5% of crude protein, GE: 5.4 Cal g -1 in four replacement levels: 0, 270, 450 and 660 gr kg 1 were prepared and fish were fed on the diets for 60 days. The toxic effects of water soluble fraction (WSF) of crude oil on the gills of juvenile kutum roach, Rutilus frisii kutum, were investigated. The juvenile (1-2g) kutum roach were collected in summer 2008 from the Kolmeh Hatchery Center, Golestan province, and acclimatized to laboratory conditions through keeping them in a 300 liter tank with de- chlorinated water for a minimum of 8 days. Six different types of WSF concentrations were made to obtain LC5096h including 27, 29.25, 31.5, 33.75, 36 and 38.25ppm. Then, 10 fingerlings of R. frisii kutum were exposed to the WSF concentrations, for 96 hours. Considering mortality rate of the juveniles in 96 hours and using Probit value statistical analysis, LC5096h was obtained at 33.95ppm. Two different concentrations (0.1 LC50 and LC50) of WSF were prepared for further assessments and after 24 and 96h of exposure, 3 individual fish were collected from each aquarium for histopathological studies. The gill sections with 3 micron thickness were prepared, stained using H & E, and examined by light microscope. General damages after observation included: Epithelial lifting, congestion in filament and lamellae, clubbing, fusion, hypertrophy of epithelial cells of lamellae, different levels of hyperplasia between lamella and aneurysms. Pathological studies showed that the WSF of crude oil causes serious damage in gills of juvenile R. frisii kutum, leads to malfunction of this organ which will harm homeostasis of the fish.

This study was carried out to evaluate the effects of dietary lecithin on growth performance and hematological indices in juveniles of Siberian sturgeon (Acipenser baeri). Fish with initial average weight of 32.9±0.3 grams were fed five isoproteic and isolipidic formulated diets with different soybean lecithin levels including 0, 2.5, 5, 7.5 and 10% in triplicate groups for 8 weeks. Results showed that lecithin supplementation to 7.5% significantly increased some growth indices such as body weight increase (BWI), specific growth rate (SGR), feed conversion ratio (FCR ) final weight (Wf), condition factor (CF) and protein efficiency ratio (PER). Also, increasing dietary lecithin to the level of 10% significantly decreased growth indices. According to the results of hematological assays, hemoglobin (Hb) in treatments of 5% and 7.5% in comparison to other treatments had higher value. Hematocrit (Hct) in fish fed with 7.5% lecithin was higher than those fed with 0 and 2.5% lecithin in the diets. Other hematological indices such as WBC, RBC, MCV, MCH and MCHC showed no significant differences among the treatments. In conclusion, the results of this study indicated that Siberian sturgeon juveniles have a relatively moderate lecithin requirement (between 5 and 7.5 percent of the diet) and these levels of lecithin in diet induces increase of growth performance and improves health status of this species.

The effects of using different of gammarus meal levels (0, 5, 10 and 20%) instead of kilk fish meal as a protein source on growth performance, feed conversion ratio and survival of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) fingerlings were studied over 8 weeks. Rainbow trout fingerlings (mean body weight 5.48 ± 0.32g) were reared in a completely randomized design with three replications in the same conditions. Based on the results, no significant difference was observed in the final length and weight and specific growth rate among treatments. Increase of gammarus meal in diet led to increase of feed conversion ratio and decrease of survival, but the difference was not significant among treatments. Commercial analysis showed that the cost price of feed increased with increase of gammarus meal in diet, significantly. Thus, results of our study showed that adding up to 10% of gammarus meal instead of kilka fish meal in rainbow trout fingerlings diet is suitable, considering gammarus abundance in the shores of south Caspian Sea and lack of significance in difference on growth, feed conversion ratio and survival.

The second phase of the project entitled Marking Persian sturgeon (Acipenser persicus) using new method and tracking them under 10 m depth in the sea was approved in 2004. This project which terminated in April 2009 was carried out during 2004 to 2008 to track coded wire tagged (CWT) sturgeons under 10 m depth. Among the specimens caught, three were juvenile Persian sturgeon tagged in the first phase (2003) were caught in the second phase (2004). The data related to tagging & capture of sturgeon from 2003 to 2008 is included. Totally, 426325 specimens of Persian sturgeon were tagged in 3 weight classes (>3g, 3 to 5g and 6 to 10g). Among the population studied, 101500 of them belonged to specimens of 2003 which were tagged by three hatcheries; Shahid Beheshti, Shahid Rajaee & Shahid Marjani and then released into the rivers (Sefidrud, Tajan & Gorganrud) entering the Caspian Sea. During 2004 to 2008, 324825 specimens were tagged in Shahid Beheshti hatchery and released into the Sefidrud River. Gill net were used to catch the tagged Persian sturgeon specimens under 10m depth. During 2003 to 2008, 3616 Persian sturgeon were captured of which 43 juveniles bore CWT. Among the captured CWT sturgeons, 23 specimens belonged to the 6-10 g weight class, 19 specimens belonged to the 3 to 5g weight class and one sturgeon was >3g. Based on the results, it can be concluded that higher weight at releasing time can lead to higher survival rate and fisheries returns. Some other factors that influence catch rate of CWT sturgeons are as follows: Catch station (highest catch rates in Persian sturgeon juveniles belonged to Chaboksar station), catch season (highest catch rates were recorded in summer which can be attributed to the release of juveniles), catch depth (in winter highest catch occurred at 5 to 10m depth, in other seasons highest catch number was recorded at 3 to 5m depth. Decrease in water temperature is the reason for higher catch numbers at 5 to 10m depth in winter. Also, mesh size can effect on catch rate (highest catch rate belongs to nets with 22mm mesh size). A feeding trial was carried out where, three protein concentrations [45%, 55% and 65%, crude protein (CP)] was fed to yellow fin sea bream (Acanthopagrus latus) fingerlings at three dietary energy concentrations [20, 22and 24 Kj g-1 crude energy (CE)] ,to determine the protein and energy requirement for this species. Possibility of rearing silver bream (Sparidentex hasta) in the earthen pond was experimented using 2 types of available artificial trout feed (FFT and GFT1). The experiment was carried out in 2 phases in Shahid-Kiani Extension Shrimp Farm in Chowibdeh Shrimp Site-Abadan Southern Iran, and earthen ponds with 0.25 ha. Area were used for both phases of the study. Juvenile fish of 3.2 g initial weight with the density of 9324 ind./ha. Were stocked for 196 days in the first phase. The initial weight, stocking density and rearing period of the fish in the second phase were 108.60 g, 9800 ind./ha. And 237 days respectively. Maximum amount of WG, FCR, PER and SVR of the fish in the first phase of the study were 100.12 g, more than 6, 0.38 and 55.32% respectively. WG and SR of the fish in the second phase respectively were 417 g and 20.74%. Banana shrimp (Penaeus merguiensis) is important shrimp species for stock enhancement in recent year in Hormozgan Tiab region. These crustacean spent post larve to juvenile cycle in mangrove creeks. Thus majore creek in this investigation are Tiab, Kolahi, Koleghan and Khamir (Laft). Maximum concentration of post larvaes in creek of Tiab, Kolahi and Koleghan are occur at April and in creek of Khamir is at May. Concentration of crustacean zoea and copepods that are diet of shrimp post larvaes, increase at this moment. Juveniles of Banana shrimp stay at those creek until June. At this time, juveniles reach to 14.6 mm (CL) and 2.9 g (TW). So optimum date to release is June for about 2.9 g of individuals. After June, concentration of juveniles decrease in creeks but increase in coastal waters. This variation in juvenile’s concentrations has negative correlation with temperature and salinity of water in creek. Amount of 187 fish stomachs (from 22 species) in the creeks were reviewed, about 56 (29.9%) of those stomachs were full or semi full conditions. Amount of 12 fish stomachs (6.4%) contain of shrimp as diet. The most important of these fish was Mangrove red snapper (Lutjanus argentimaculatus). About of 104789 juveniles of Banana shrimp (1.4g TW) in 2007 and 51401 juveniles (1.3g TW) in 2008 were tagged and released from 23 June to 16 July each year. Most of the shrimp (tagged and not tagged) released in Tiab creek. For recapture of tagged shrimp used 386 trawl survey and about 49.3 Km2 swepted by wooden boats. During the catch season (October to early November) about 10% of wooden boats and some shrimp processing companies were search daily for tagged shrimp, but no tagged shrimp were found.
