Introduction: The Dichotomous Thinking in Eating Disorders Scale (DTEDS) is a short, self- assessment of the presence of a rigid, “black-and-white” cognitive thinking style. This study aimed to examine the psychometric properties of Dichotomous Thinking in eating disorders in Iran.Methods: For this purpose, a sample of 362 women with nutritional problems referring to health centers, nutrition clinics, and beauty institutes of Shiraz (2019-2020) were selected by convenience sampling method and Eating Attitudes Scale. In this descriptive and cross-sectional study, participants responded to the Persian version of Dichotomous Thinking Eating Disorders and Positive and Negative Perfectionism Scales. Finally, based on the data collected, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, convergent and divergent validity were employed to determine the construct validity. Moreover, the reliability of the questionnaire was assessed via internal consistency (Cronbach alpha).Results: factor analysis supported the original two-factor model of the questionnaire, and fit indices indicated a good model fit. The questionnaire's convergent and divergent validity and internal consistency were also adequate. For two factors, Cronbach’s alpha ranges from 0.74 to 0.88, suggesting satisfactory reliability of the Persian version of the DTEDS.Conclusion: The Persian version of the DTEDS has adequate validity and reliability in Iranian society and is a good self-report for research and clinical settings.

Background: Assertiveness is one of the important components of determining the quality of human relationships and the management of anger. The main aim of this study was to examine the moderating role of assertiveness types in the relationship between anger and anger rumination in patients suffering from chronic musculoskeletal pain. Methods: For this purpose, a sample of 109 patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain was selected by convenience sampling method. Adaptive and aggressive assertiveness scale, multidimensional anger inventory and anger rumination scale were used for collecting data. Data analysis was carried out using Pearson correlation coefficient and hierarchical regression analysis. Results: The results showed different assertiveness types have a moderating role in the relationship between anger and anger rumination in patients with musculoskeletal disorders. Adaptive assertiveness was a negative moderator in the relationship between anger and anger rumination, and with proper management of initial anger it reduces the intensity of anger rumination. On the contrary, aggressive assertiveness was a positive moderator in the relationship between anger and anger rumination, and by intensifying the initial anger, it increases anger rumination. Conclusion: In general, different assertiveness types exacerbate/intensify or weaken the chain of anger and anger rumination, and affect the severity of pain in patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain disorder. . Therefore, adaptive and aggressive assertiveness indirectly lead to a decrease or an increase in the severity of pain in patients with musculoskeletal disorders, respectively.

Background: Pregnancy is one of the critical periods in a woman’s life. Pregnancy is a suitable time for nutrition education. Pregnant women pay special attention to various aspects of their health, their fetuses’ health and they are accurate about the amount and type of food who consume. So, the aim of this study was to determine the effect of educational program based on BASNEF model on pregnant women’s performance reffered to Meraj health centers in 2013 in Bushehr. Materials and Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted in two groups including control and experimental group. Before the intervention in both groups, food frequency questionnaires completed, then educational intervention for experimental group was done in four sessions (three sessions for pregnant women and one session for their husbands) and educational pamphlets were given to them about suitable nutrition during pregnancy. Data were analyzed by using SPSS18 software. Results: Results showed that 55% of women had an education level until diploma, most of them were housewives (65%) or their income (47.5%) was more than one million Tomans. The results showed that between nutrition performance of experimental group in food groups of bread and cereals (F=27.11 and p=0.0001), meat and protein group (F=7.647 and p=0.009), fruit group (F=20.9 and p=0.0001), vegetables (F=6.236 and p=0.018) and dairy products (F=3.66 and p=0.048), had a significant difference with control groups. Conclusion: Designing and implementation of BASNEF model can be effective in pregnancy nutrition. This model can be effective with proper and coordinated structure in improving the pregnant women nutrition. Designing intervention and educational programs is inexpensive, functional and applicable by using this model and provide an organizational framework to individuals as well.
