Purpose: Information literacy involves a range of skills such as recognizing information needs, understanding information production and value, and using information to generate new knowledge ethically. It is essential for individuals to locate, evaluate, and utilize information effectively to become lifelong learners. This research aims to investigate how education influences the information literacy abilities of out-of-school children in accessing digital libraries and databases.Methodology: This study utilized a Semi-experimental research design and survey method. Initial theoretical studies were conducted, and five information literacy standards were compared to develop a new pattern. The population consisted of 195 dropouts from two schools - Moshtaq in Kerman and Arslan Boys in Rafsanjan. The sample size of 120 individuals was selected using a simple random method, with 100 students completing the questionnaire. Survey data was analyzed before and after information literacy training over one semester using a checklist with five components and 15 indicators. Reliability was measured using Cronbach's alpha, which yielded a value of 0.851.Findings: The study revealed that digital libraries and databases were available to a favorable extent, with a 2.935 percent availability rate. Prior to training, students showed a 2.125 percent proficiency in locating information in digital resources, which improved to 2.45 percent post-training. Additionally, students demonstrated an average skill level of 2.38 in utilizing full-text databases within digital libraries. Conclusion: The research underscored the importance of education in enhancing information literacy skills, particularly in the areas of information retrieval and selection, database usage, and critical evaluation of online sources. Recommendations included teaching students how to identify reliable information sources, conduct effective information searches, and utilize various search operators for refining search results.Value: The novelty of the research lies in its examination of the Impact of Education on Information Literacy Skills of Dropout Students in Utilizing Digital Libraries and Databases through a Semi-experimental research design.

The reason for failure in learning and academic failure is the lack of academic skills. Mentally retarded children, as a special and vulnerable group of society, usually have little academic skills for various reasons. One of the important reasons can be executive functions. The present research was conducted with the aim of investigating the role of executive functions in predicting the mathematical academic skills of mentally retarded elementary students. The descriptive research method was correlation type. The statistical population was all 995 mentally retarded students of the elementary level in the academic year 1402-1401 in Kerman city; Based on the Morgan-Karjesi table, the statistical sample size of this research was 278 people; which were selected by stratified random sampling method. Brief executive function questionnaire and math teacher-made test were used to collect data. Data analysis was done with spss25 and Amos24 software. The results of the research showed that the model of the role of executive functions in predicting math academic skills in mentally retarded primary school students has an acceptable fit by controlling the effect of intelligence and age. There was a significant relationship between inhibition, attention transfer, emotional control, initiation, working memory, planning, organization of materials and revision with mathematical academic skills of intellectually disabled students, so that the components of executive functions simultaneously accounted for 0.357 of skill variance. The academic skills of intellectually disabled students were explained and the most important predictors of mathematical academic skills in intellectually disabled students were planning and working memory respectively

Introduction: It seems that education focusing on the perceived threat is effective in informing people about water scarcity. Therefore, due to the position of educated people as role models in society, the present study aimed to assess the effect of education based on the perceived threat on water conservation behavior of students of Behbahan Faculty of Medical Sciences. Material & Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted on 62 operating room students of Behbahan Faculty of Medical Science in the academic year of 2017- 2018, selected via multistage random sampling. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire assessing demographic characteristics, perceived threats, and water conservation behavior which was completed by students before the intervention. Thereafter, written and visual messages based on the perceived threat were prepared and presented in PowerPoint format with the cooperation of professors for four sessions in the last minutes of the classroom, and an opportunity was given for group discussion and exchange of opinions. In addition, message posters were installed in appropriate places, such as restrooms, and were sent to students using the SMS system. Two months later, the questionnaires were completed again. The data were analyzed in SPSS software (version 15) using the Paired t-test, Covariance analysis, and Pearson correlation coefficient. A p-value less than 0<0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: The mean age of participants was 20.61±1.32 years. There were 32 (51.6%) female and 30 (48.4%) male students. Before the training, the mean water conservation behaviors, susceptibility, and severity scores were 47.98±16.36, 61.74±21.23, and 59.03±21.09, respectively. After training, the aforementioned mean scores increased significantly to 77.55±14.59, 86±0.54, and 83.38±8.53, and there was a significant relationship between the variables (P<0.05). Discussion & Conclusion: The education caused an increase in students' perceived threat to the water shortage crisis and promoted water conservation behavior. Background: Waste separation education is very important for students because of the important role of this group in attracting parental involvement. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the effect of educational intervention based on the theory of planned behavior on the promotion of waste separation at source behavior among the primary school students in Khorramabad City, Iran. Methods: This randomized controlled interventional study was conducted during the academic year of 2020-2021 among the primary school students in the city of Khorramabad. Eight schools were selected in a multi-stage method and the sample size was estimated at a total of 200 people, taking into account at least 100 samples in each group (test and control). Then, the educational intervention was performed based on the results of needs assessment for the experimental group during one month and in the form of three sessions of 60-minute training. The data were collected 2 months after the intervention and were analyzed using SPSS software by using independent t-test, paired t-test, and chi-square test. Findings: Before the educational intervention, except for the score of awareness variable, all variables were not significantly different between the two groups; however, after the intervention, the two groups had significant differences regarding all of the studies variables (P < 0.050). The performance of the intervention group before training was 2.34 ± 0.73, which increased significantly to 3.11 ± 0.45 after training (P < 0.001). Conclusion: Educational intervention based on the theory of planned behavior by promoting attitudes and evaluating the behavioral consequences of students in the field of waste separation behavior at source eventually improved the behavior of students; it is suggested that this educational method be implemented in other schools as well.

Background: Today, entrepreneurship development, as an important engine of economic growth, requires a high spirit of entrepreneurship. In universities, students are the mainstay of entrepreneurship. In this way, the present study has measured the entrepreneurial traits of graduate students in Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences in Yazd. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted in 2020. Authors selected 235 graduate students based on quota sampling and used Cochran's formula. The research tool was a standardized questionnaire to measure entrepreneurial spirit. Data were entered into SPSS 21 statistical software and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical tests. This included independent t-test, ANOVA, and regression. Results: The total score of entrepreneurial spirit was evaluated as good with an average of 62.50 %. Among all the dimensions, the achievement seeking dimension got the highest score with an average of 75.50 %, and the independence sought dimension received the lowest score with an average of 50.50 %. There was a significant relationship between the total score of entrepreneurial spirit and marital status (p = 0.046), gender (p = 0.033), father's job (p = 0.020), and mother's job (p = 0.001). The regression model also showed that gender, age, and mother's employment are effective factors regarding the entrepreneurial spirit of students (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Planning with a focus on male and older students can strengthen the entrepreneurial spirit in the university. Of course, considering the increase in the number of female students in universities, it is vital to improve their entrepreneurial characteristics and motivate them for self-employment.

IntroductionThe category of culture and its impact on the environment is one of the dimensions of sustainable development and the first step towards achieving this goal. We need environmental ethics to achieve sustainability, development and environmental protection. An ethic that recognizes and responds sensitively to the complex and changing connections between man and nature. In order for such ethics to emerge, it is necessary to review educational methods and systems. The aim of this study was to study the effectiveness of teaching method based on the teacher- assistant project on environmental ethics of Kashan high school students. MethodThe research method was applied in terms of purpose and in terms of the nature of the collected data, quantitative and based on a quasi-experimental approach (pre-test-post-test design with control group). The statistical population consisted of all male students of 11th grade public schools in Kashan with a number of 1171 people who were selected using the Convenient sampling method in two classes of 30 people. To collect data, Firoozfar, Faqihi & Erfani (2021) environmental ethics questionnaire was used, the content validity of which was confirmed by environmental experts, and its reliability was obtained using Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.927. Introduction: Educating nursing students as future and front-line nurses of patient care is very important to ensure that they have the appropriate knowledge and skills in infection prevention and control. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of the effect of teaching standard precautions on the knowledge and practice of nursing students. Materials and Methods: This quasi-experimental study was performed on 70 final year nursing students and was randomly assigned to the intervention and control groups. Criteria for data collection tools included demographic questionnaire and Kirk Patrick evaluation model. For the intervention group, a training program was implemented based on the crack patrick model and for the control group, an educational booklet was given to students. After the training program, its effectiveness was evaluated in four levels (reaction, learning, behavior, results) of Kirk Patrick model. To assess the amount of learning using the researcher-made test before and after the test one week after training, the amount of learning was measured. To evaluate the performance, an observational checklist was used which consists of 8 sections and a total of 66. Whether or not each of the 66 functions was performed by the research units, by the researcher on different days imperceptibly before and one month after the intervention and The checklist was completed. Finally, after collecting statistical data, the results were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: The findings of this study show that the average learning score of nursing students after the educational program based on the Kirk Patrick model increased significantly and also the average performance score of nursing students after the educational program increased significantly. Discussion & Conclusion: The results indicate the effectiveness of the course held for nursing students and it seems that Kirk Patrick model can be a suitable way to evaluate the effectiveness of health education

Background and Objective: Because students receive a variety of educational services during their studies, their view of the services provided can be considered as one of the characteristics of quality in the university. This study was conducted to determine the quality of educational services from the perspective of nursing students. Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed in the School of Nursing of Golestan University of Medical Sciences with a sample of 164 people. The data collection tool was a valid and reliable SERVQUAL questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using SPSS-23 statistical software. Findings: In all five dimensions of educational services (physical dimensions, guarantee, accountability, confidence, and empathy) there was a negative gap between the current and desired status of students and the quality of educational services. The highest mean gap was in the dimension of empathy and responsiveness (-1.73) and the lowest mean gap was related to the tangible dimension (-1.43). The age of students was directly and significantly related to the quality gap in the dimensions of confidence (P = 0.028) and empathy (P = 0.046). Gender of students with total quality gap (P = 0.004) and in the dimensions of confidence (P = 0.018), accountability (P = 0.003), guarantee (P = 0.013) and empathy (P = 0.001) P) and students' education also had a significant relationship in terms of confidence (P = 0.001). Conclusion: Students' expectations are beyond their perception of the current situation and in none of the dimensions, their expectations have been met. Holding effective communication training courses and receiving feedback can play an effective role in improving the quality of educational services.

A review of the research literature showed that very few studies focusing on teacher development in the philosophy education approach for children have been reported. Therefore, according to the existing research gap in the country, the purpose of the present study is to investigate the role of Philosophy for Children in the professional development of teachers. The approach of this research is inductive and a qualitative method has been used to conduct it. The type of field research and case study method was used. The statistical population of the research was academic staff members and teachers who had research and teaching experience in this field. In the present study, 12 members were interviewed using the purposeful sampling method. Then the data obtained from them were analyzed through open, central and selective coding. The results of the research findings showed that teaching philosophy for children in self-knowledge, respect for others' opinions, reflection on one's own teaching, recognition of students' capacity, student-centeredness, transfer of teaching strategies learned in teaching philosophy for children to Other courses, development of thinking, development of facilitation, development of collaborative research, improvement of communication skills, development of culture, development of dialogue training, development of team work and generally have an impactful role in promoting the professional development of teachers. Considering the individual and social contributions of the method of Philosophy for Children, it is clear that the implementation of this approach will be useful in all educational levels from preschool to university.

Background and Objective: Complex and sometimes unknown factors affect the quality and quantity of students' learning and their academic achievement. One of the factors that due to the severity of its effects on academic achievement has received more attention from experts and has sometimes been considered as an independent factor, is academic motivation. Therefore, this was done with all the connections between the dimensions and academic achievement in the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery of Zahedan. Methods: The present study is a descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study that was performed on 255 students of Zahedan School of Nursing and Midwifery, who were selected by stratified sampling method. Walrand academic motivation questionnaire was used to collect data. In order to evaluate the students 'academic achievement, the average of the students' previous semesters was used and the obtained data were analyzed using descriptive and analytical statistical tests. Findings: The results showed that students' motivation has a direct and significant relationship with their academic performance. In addition, students' academic motivation has a significant relationship with age, gender, field of study and being in a university for several years p≤0 / 05. Conclusion: The results indicate that students' academic achievement requires coordination and interaction between different dimensions of motivation, so it is suggested that officials and medical education planners pay more attention to the components of motivation.

Extended Abstract Abstract The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of social responsibility of sports teachers on optimizing leisure time and preventing social harms of students. The study method was descriptive- correlative. The statistical population of the study included all 2950female high school students in the seventh district of Tehran. The sample size was determined based on Krejcie and Morgan table of 370 students who were selected by means of cluster random sampling method. Data collection tools included the standard questionnaire of Barton Goff (2012), the researcher-made questionnaire of Kashefi and Nazari (2018) and the questionnaire of Aaghaii and Timurtash (2009). The validity of the questionnaires in terms of form and content was confirmed by sports management professors and their reliability was confirmed by Cronbach's alpha coefficient test. Data analyzing was accomplished by Spss statistical software. Findings showed that the social responsibility of sports teachers is effective in optimizing students' leisure time and social harms. Furthermore, leisure time is effective in preventing students' social harms. Favorable ‌ spending of leisure time ‌ in a comprehensive and essential form ‌ ‌ ‌allows young people ‌ to meet the aspects of life; ‌ experience of teamwork; ‌ skills; ‌ and design a bright and promising future. Introduction Various activities are performed in the education system for the growth and excellence of individuals and bringing human beings to the desired perfection; including educational, research, cultural, social, athletic, etc. (Ahmadi & et al, 2020). Today, social responsibility goes far beyond its field of activity and influence in the past, which was humanitarian. Social responsibility has found its role and place in the field of business to achieve sustainable development, on preventive solutions to the social and environmental challenges and similar areas (Chau & et al, 2018). Therefore, one of the most important indicators and components of social growth is social responsibility (Commentary & et al, 2019). Responsibility is obligation and inner commitment of the individual in the proper performance of all activities entrusted to her (Ester Cerin & et al, 2017). On the other hand, sometimes, there is a kind of confusion accompanied by a decrease in self-esteem and self-concept during a special and sensitive period of adolescence, which leads to a decrease in natural activities and social interactions. Therefore, the adolescent can be prepared to learn ethical concepts by being taught responsibility and assigning appropriate plans to him/her (Faith & et al, 2016). Participation in sports activities is one of the educational activities during which the students can develop characteristics such as responsibility, cooperation and social relations (Ghalavandi & et al, 2018). Nowadays, some concerns of parents and teachers are optimal learning and correct education and avoidance of social harms of students, and there are many ways to achieve these goals, including all kinds of encouragement and laziness, and visiting doctors and psychologists, and etc., nontheless few people have tried the effect of exercise on learning and reducing social harms. Also, in our country, less attention is paid to students' leisure time, and the reason is that leisure time has not yet found its real place in society. The plans of education officials and families and the responsibility of teachers, especially physical education teachers, are not enough for students' leisure time and do not provide them with satisfaction. Accordingly, the responsibility of teachers, who have an effective role in reducing the social harms of students in their spare time, is felt more. According to the contents of this article, an attempt is made to answer the question that how far the sport teachers are effective on optimizing leisure time and preventing social harms of students? Theoretical framework Inadequate and unfavorable social results are obtained when "leisure" is not designed for attractive, fun and uplifting programs full of "educational" elements. Spending this time in the context of healthy activities can reduce its harmful aspects and be a preventive measure against adolescents going astray on these ages (Mehrdad, 2011). A study by Yen et al. Found that adolescents who spend their leisure time with friends in "unsupervised activities" are more likely to exhibit "aggressive" behaviors than adolescents who are "organized" and "active" during leisure time and also indoor activities (Khwaja Nouri & Hasheminia. 2010). In a study Hosseini and Mirzaei Khalis (2021) examined the mediating role of social goals in the relationship between mental vulnerability and responsibility in female high school students, and the results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between students' psychological vulnerability and their social goals responsibility. (Hosseini and Mirzaei Khalis, 2021). Methodology The present study is methodically descriptive-correlative. The statistical population of this study includes statistically 2950 female high school students in the seventh district of Tehran, of which 370 students were selected as a research sample by cluster random sampling. The validity of the questionnaires was determined by the point views of sports management experts and so were the questionnaires approved. The reliability of the questionnaires in this study was determined by Cronbach's alpha. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the social responsibility, leisure and social harm questionnaires were 0.75, 0.85 and 0.86, respectively, which has the desired reliability of the questionnaires. Descriptive statistics such as central indicators were used to analyze the data and correlation coefficient and regression were used to measure the relationship between variables. Discussion and Results The camera-Watson test was used to test the research hypotheses. Considering the value of simple correlation coefficient, it can be said that sport has an effect on optimizing the leisure time of female high school students in the seventh district of Tehran (R = 0.146). Also, the social responsibility of sports teachers has an effect on the prevention of social harms of female high school students in the seventh district of Tehran (R = 0.253). Leisure time also has an effect on the prevention of social harms of female high school students in the seventh district of Tehran (R = 0.351). Conclusion The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of social responsibility of sports teachers on the optimization of leisure time and prevention of social harms of students. Researches in the field of social responsibility can be referred such as Modarres Yazdi et al. (2020), Taghvai Yazdi (2016), Qalavandi et al., and in the field of leisure time, such as Hdayyan and Dodkhah (2020), Tamizifar & Azizifar (2021), Khater Wisie and Yektayar (2020), Mousavi Rad and Keshavarz (2018), Ester et al. (Ester, & Eva, 2020), Chau et al. (2018). Research results show that the variables of social responsibility and leisure are effective as two factors. Therefore, the results of this study indicate that the social responsibility of sports teachers is directly related to students 'leisure time. Therefore, leisure time not only prevents the spread of social anomalies, but also helps the students' development in a way that they feel responsible towards the community and peers, so leisure activities for a student are conditions for trial and error and social experience that allows him to enter the community and take responsibility. Among the limitations of the present study, it can be mentioned that during the present study the researcher found that other variables (economic-facilities, cultural-social, and family and personal factor) are effective in preventing social harms, but in the present study it has been assumed to be constant. Sports can have a significant effect on the vitality of male and female students. Students who are in a better mental condition are undoubtedly safe from most social ills such as addiction and sexual perversion. These students, healthy and vital. are more successful in other stages of life, (A healthy mind in a healthy body) and they will be successful parents in the future.

Introduction: The students’ self-confidence level is a key factor affecting the success of endodontics learning. This study aimed to determine the confidence level of dental students who performing root canal treatment at Rafsanjan University of Medical Sciences in 2021. Materials & Methods: In this cross-sectional study a questionnaire including demographic information, endodontic experience, attitude toward confidence in performing different stages of root canal treatment, and suggestions for improving the quality of endodontic education was distributed among 54 dentistry students from 5th and 6th-year during the last month of the academic semester. Data were analyzed using T-test, Pearson, and ANOVA tests (α = 0.05). Results: According to the results, of 49 dental students, 24.5% reported the first cases of root canal treatment to be tough. The lowest confidence was reported for finding all root canals in teeth with multiple root canals, preparing access cavity and understanding and managing root canal treatment risks. According to the results of chi-square analysis test, the total confidence score between 5th and 6th year students was not significantly different (p value = 0.648). Also, the relationship between general selfconfidence and students' self-confidence level was not seen (p value = 0.372). There was no significant relationship between the Confidence level and age, academic year, the difficulty level of the first endodontic treatment, and number of endodontic treatments (p value > 0.05). Conclusion: Students had lower self-confidence finding all the canals in multi-canal teeth, in properly handling the treatment risks, and preparing the access cavity. Introduction: Evaluating different fields of clinical education is necessary to improve the medical course. Among these, clinical rounds are an important part of clinical education. Therefore, achieving maximum realization in any clinical field is the goal of every medical training center. Methods: Present descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted at Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences by census method on more than 67% of clinical medical professors and 79% of medical students who are on internship. The research instrument included a questionnaire of demographic information and a clinical round, which was prepared based on clinical standards approved by the Ministry of Health. 30 out of 44 clinical professors and 30 out of 38 interns succeeded in completing the questionnaires. The obtained data were analyzed by SPSS-16 software and tests (T-test and ANOVA). Result: The mean scores of clinical rounds of professors were 65± 13.16 and interns were 52.47± 35.19 and in general, the situation in this field was described as higher than the average (42) for both groups. Comparison of the two groups also showed a significant difference (P = 0.00). Thus, the mean scores of clinical round scores in the professors’ group were higher than the average scores of the interns’ group. Conclusion: The current clinical rounds situation in Shahrkord University of Medical Sciences was described as more favorable than average. Therefore, in order to further promote medical education, it is recommended that universities continuously evaluate and monitor the status of various areas of clinical education in order to reach the ideal level as soon as possible.

Background and Objective: Due to the change in educational methods and virtualization of university classrooms following the COVID-19 epidemic, after the necessary activities in this regard, in order to examine students' feedback on what they experienced during the academic year 1399-1400, in this Study we measured the satisfaction of students of Self-Governing Campus of Babol University of Medical Sciences about virtual education. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, the level of students' satisfaction with virtual education and end-of-semester tests was assessed using a researcher-made questionnaire. The poll was conducted through the Faradid system. Results were reported in frequency and frequency percentage. Findings: A total of 250 students with 66.85% participation in 4 fields of general medicine, general dentistry, bachelor of physiotherapy and bachelor of nursingparticipated in the study. The general satisfaction of students with virtual education, and the possibility of establishing a two-way relationship between professors and students and providing appropriate feedback, all 4 disciplines were moderate satisfaction. Regarding the evaluation method at the end of the semester, 84.5% of students had average and lower level of satisfaction. Regarding the preferred teaching method, the choice of students in all fields was face-to-face teaching method. Conclusion: Given the current situation and accepting the fact that education should move towards virtualization, it seems that more decision should be taken to raise the quality of e-learning so that interactive methods can take their place in the method of education.

Introduction: Emergency school closures are often used as public health interventions during infectious disease outbreaks to minimize the spread of infection. However, Over 80% of children in the world have had their education impacted by coronavirus. For children with special needs who receive special education services, access to face-to-face education and other resources at school is of particular importance. These services focus not only on academic achievement, but also on social, emotional, psychological and physical health and well-being. The American Academy of Pediatrics advocates for students to attend school in person. Students with special needs are divided into seven educational groups: hearing impairment, visual impairment, physical-motor disorders, intellectual disabilities, behavioral-emotional disorders, autism spectrum disorder, specific learning disorder, and severe and multiple disabilities. Each of these groups should have a different way of teaching and learning than other groups and normal students. For proper planning and accommodation of children with special needs, we must prioritize safety. In order for these students to be able to use rehabilitation services, face-to-face education conditions must be provided for them in accordance with health protocols.

Background and Aim: The present article aimed at providing a framework of math curriculum elements in the process of competent teacher training and educating the students in second grade of high schools. Method: The research method was phenomenology qualitative and the statistical society were all professors and experts of curriculum planning in Tabriz universities during 2021-2022. The sample case was selected up to theoretical saturation (15 people) from the expert professors and the data was gathered through semi structural deep interviews in snowball sampling method. The validity of interviews was inner validity and the reliability was increased by applying it in an appropriate space considering the qualification of the interview without any bias and applying personal opinion. Curriculum purposes in three sub-themes of pedagogical knowledge in ten categorized codes- learning disciplines and course subjects resulting of ten categorized codes- general and professional skills development derived from thirteen categorized codes, 2. the content of curriculum in four sub-themes consisted of the content knowledge resulting from thirteen categorized codes- the pedagogical knowledge in twelve categorized codes- the pedagogical content knowledge resulting from twelve categorized codes- the technological pedagogical content knowledge in seven categorized codes, 3. teaching- learning activities in three subthemes: the knowledge resulting from four categorized codes- the skill in fifteen categories codes- the attitude resulting from ten categorized codes and 4. Evaluation features in three sub-themes of the knowledge in ten categorized codes- the skill resulting from eight categorized codes- the attitude in ten categories codes. Conclusion: Hence, these for elements with thirteen indexes are the basic elements of math curriculum in the process of competent teachers training and educating the second grade of high school students. According to this fact that the schools provide a situation through which the students can achieve better learning and education opportunities, therefore, it is vital to create students’ better learning situation through training a competent teacher in math teaching by implementing these curriculum elements.

Extended AbstractAbstractThe aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of research-based education on self-direction of ninth grade female students in Tonekabon. The present study was quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design and a control group. The statistical population of this study was ninth grade female students in Tonekabon. The sample size consisted of 40 students who were randomly selected from multistage clusters. The data collection tool was Fisher et al. (2001) self-directed learning questionnaire. Students with a standard deviation score below average were randomly divided into experimental and control groups. The research-based training program applied to the experimental group for seven one-hour sessions, but no training was conducted in the control group. Finally, post-test was performed on both groups. Data analysis via multivariate analysis of covariance showed that research-based education is effective on the willingness to learn, self-control and self-management of ninth grade female students in Tonekabon (P

Introduction: The experience of studying in a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (Ph.D.) is often considered as the transition from studenthood to becoming a faculty member, which requires considerable personal learning and development. The purpose of this study was to explain the lived educational experiences of doctoral students in nursing. Methods: This qualitative study was conducted in 2019 with the participation of nine Ph.D. nursing students. Semi-structured individual interviews were used to gather information. Data were analyzed using Van Manen's phenomenological approach. Results: From the data analysis, three main themes "passing through the rocky path of education, gaining insight, gaining power and professional dignity" and six sub-themes (tortuous path of education, leverage of suffering and pleasure, change of perspective, personal growth, and development, professional responsibility and accountability, positive image of the profession in society) were extracted. Conclusion: Nursing Ph.D. students experience a tortuous path and, in the process, believe that they have gained a greater understanding of the nursing profession and their perspective on the real-life and nature of nursing is changing.

Aims: Pediculosis is one of the most common health problems in children and especially in girls. This study aimed to investigate the effect of education based on the Health Belief Model using social network messenger on promoting pediculosis preventive behaviors among school girls. Materials & Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted in Bojnourd in 2018. 145 students were selected through cluster sampling from 12 schools and randomly divided into the intervention and the control groups. For the intervention group, the training program was implemented for 2 weeks and 3 days each week by uploading videos and educational materials about pediculosis in social network messenger. Data collection tools included a questionnaire based on the Health Belief Model and a demographic questionnaire that were completed by the students before, immediately, and 3 months after the education. The data were analyzed by SPSS 20 and by using Chi-square, Exact Fisher, Mann-Whitney, and ANOVA tests. The present study examines the effect of social networks on changing personality traits of students of Islamic Azad University, West Tehran Branch. The statistical population of this study included master's degree students of Azad University, West Tehran Branch. According to Morgan's table, 260 people were selected using a simple random sampling method. Data collection tools and information in this study included a social media researcher-made questionnaire and Goldberg's (1999) Personality Characteristics Questionnaire. The findings of this study showed that 47% of the explanations for variance related to changing personality traits of students of Islamic Azad University, West Tehran Branch are affected by social networks. Also, the results of regression analysis analysis of constant value and coefficient of variables of usage rate, type of use and level of trust in users were 0.222, 0.295, 0.174 and 0.423, respectively, and according to the statistical value of t-test and A significant level of less than 0.05 was confirmed by the presence of constant coefficients of regression coefficients and coefficients of variables of usage, type of use and level of trust in users. The results of this study showed that social networks have an effect on changing the personality traits of students of Islamic Azad University, West Tehran Branch.

Background and purpose: Educational levels shape the socioeconomic status of the family and the behavioral development of children. This study investigated the relationship between parental education and violence in adolescent students in Isfahan province. Materials and methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in 2800 high school students in Isfahan province using cluster sampling. Data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire that included demographic information, parental educational level, and students' violent behaviors (verbal, physical and psychological violence, Yes/No questions). Data analysis was done in SPSS v.24 applying Chi-square test and logistic regression test. Results: After adjusting for variables, the results revealed no significant correlation between frequency distribution of violent behaviors and parental education (P> 0.05) and the frequency distribution of these behaviors in the boys was found to be 1.4 times more that of the girls (P< 0.001). Conclusion: According to this study, there was no significant relationship between parents' educational level and the frequency of violent acts in their children.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Holding the classes in the first weeks of the official semester is one of the main problems for the university education system. This study aimed to determine assessing the causes of students' irregularities in class formation at the beginning of each semester in medical sciences universities. METHODS: This cross-sectional study was conducted at three universities of Babol, Shahid Beheshti and Iran University of Medical Sciences, on two groups of students, those who attended the first classes of semester and those who missed the classes; available sampling method was used to select participants. The researcher-made questionnaires were used to collect data, including students' personal and educational information, students' viewpoints on the reasons for absenteeism during the first classes of the semester, questions about their familiarity with absenteeism codes and regulations, and their viewpoints on canceling classes at the first days of semester. FINDINGS:The viewpoints of two groups of present and absent students (218 and 130 students, respectively) at classes on the first week of the semester, were analyzed using scores 1-5 in the Likert scale, and indicated that the main reason for the students attending at their first classes of the semester was the importance of specialized courses (4.16±0.94) and teachers’ emphasis (4.13±0.96). The most important factors for the students' absence were their experience of canceling first classes of previous semester (3.51±0.95) and students not paying attention to timely attend the first sessions (3.22±1.01). T-test showed that there was a significant direct relationship between students' age and their timely attendance at the beginning of the semester (p=0.035). CONCLUSION: The presence or absence of students at classes on first days of new semester is influenced by various factors and actions taken by influential individuals such as educational staff and faculty members.

Aims: Water pipe smoking, especially among young people, has been on the rise and the increasing prevalence of tobacco use among students is worrying. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of educational intervention based on the theory of planned behavior on preventing water pipe smoking in secondary school students. Materials & Methods: This semi-experimental study was performed on 400 students from high school boy students (2nd and 3rd) of Fasa city in 2018-2019. The subjects were selected by cluster random sampling method and divided into control (n=200) and experimental (n=200) groups. The intervention was based on planned behavior theory model for the experimental group in 7 sessions of 50-55 minutes. A questionnaire including demographic information, theory of planned behavior constructs and preventive behaviors of water pipe smoking in high school students were completed before and three months after intervention by both groups. Data were analyzed by SPSS 22 software using Chi-square, independent and paired t-tests. Findings: There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of knowledge, attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, intent and preventive behaviors of water pipe smoking pre intervention (p>0.05). However, in the three months after intervention, the experimental group showed a significant increase in any of these variables (p=0.001), while there was no significant difference in the control group (p>0.05). Conclusion: The educational intervention based on the theory of planned behavior is effective on preventing water pipe smoking in secondary school students.

Introduction: Mobile learning is a new way of modern teaching method and a subset of e-learning that refers to a change in thinking about the design and planning of learning goals and environments. The purpose of this study was to investigate the attitude of students of the Medical Sciences School toward the mobile phone in educational activities and its usage. Methods: 150 students of Mashhad School of Paramedical Sciences were investigated in this cross-sectional study in 2019-20, using a researcher-made questionnaire including three sections on student demographic information, mobile applications in education, and student attitude toward mobile phone use in educational activities. The questionnaire`s validity was obtained according to 7 experts' opinions in the field of education, and its reliability was calculated using Cronbach's alpha of 0.794. Data were analyzed by descriptive and analytical statistics using SPSS 16 software. Result: From the investigation of 150 students of Mashhad Paramedical Sciences opinions in six educational groups indicated that students of health information technology, laboratory science, physiotherapy, ophthalmology, radiology, speech therapy, medical records, mostly used mobile phones for their educational activities respectively. The most common use of students' mobile phones at university was the use of the Internet and social networks, taking photos and videos, and the most common use in teaching activities was reading files, viewing scores, recording audio and selecting units. From the students' perspective, using mobile phones in educational activities leads to getting higher scores, doing activities faster, make better communication between teacher and student, and speeded up the learning feedback. Conclusion: According to the results, we suggest encouraging teachers to use mobile phones in academic activities and running workshops to increase the awareness of mobile capabilities. Also educational planners, and mobile based learning programs should design educational software to promote the correct culture of mobile use in educational activities. Measuring leisure needs is an essential step in planning educational development. Educational needs are one of the educational system's foundations that underlie the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the systems. This study was conducted through survey on a sample of 400 students [200 girls (Farzanegan) and 200 boys (Pishtazan)] from elementary school (fourth and fifth grades), guidance and high school in school year 2013-14. Findings show that students at different educational levels are in dire need of leisure activities. The most important leisure needs of students in the student organization are, respectively, the need for tourism, the need for celebrations, the need for collaborative activities, the need for sports, the need for cultural activities, the need for religion and the arts. For all leisure needs, the status quo is not desirable, and there is a gap between the existing and desired state. Furthermore, there is a significant relationship between students’ socio-economic status and their leisure needs. Deprived students need more tourism, sports, participatory, cultural, religious events and celebrations than those belonging to middle and upper classes. The findings also indicate that boys are more in need of tourism, sports and gatherings, celebrations and ceremonies than girls. Girls have a greater need for artistic activities than boys. Implications of the present study emphasize the importance of extracurricular activities for students in the education system. It is important to carry out a comprehensive needs assessment in order to develop a country-wide macro strategy. It is vital to address the disadvantages of leisure programs by focusing on disadvantaged and financially disadvantaged classes, and by educating trained instructors and utilizing the power of capable educators. It is also important to address gender differences in leisure time planning for girls and boys. It is worth noting that in order to meet the leisure needs of students, it is necessary to organize tourism camps, develop and promote sports and literacy skills, formulate promotional reading programs, encourage artistic activities and create diverse artistic associations, create community clubs, vocational clubs, entrepreneurial clubs, and ethics focused on nurturing students' spiritual and moral abilities.

Background and Objectives:Despite the emergence and advancement of new technologies and, consequently, the change in lifestyle in recent decades, education systems have maintained the same traditional method of education and have not changed according to the characteristics of the digital generation. Meanwhile, digital generation features have been effective in learning-teaching approaches. One of the most important and recent developments in the field of modern technologies is the use of gamification, that is, the use of game elements in non-game contexts. Gamification is using game mechanics, game aesthetics, and game thinking to engage people, motivate them, and promote learning, and problem-solving. The use of game elements in educational environments has been found in developed countries and even in developing countries as a special place to face current educational problems. The purpose of this study was to review the studies in the field of ‘Gamification in e-learning’ and to present the content analysis of this field and its effectiveness in education. Methods: A systematic search of articles was done in February 2018. After searching the databases Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Wiley, Taylor & Francis, and Emerald with keywords Gamification, gamify, and gameful and also online, web, tutorial, module, e-learning, electronic, and e-course, and based on input criteria, 60 relevant articles were selected in this study. The selected articles were analyzed in terms of game elements, gamified e-learning courses, and the purpose of the articles. Findings: Target population in this reviewed article included high school, secondary school, and elementary school students, and also university students from a variety of disciplines, including Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering, Business Management, Building Engineering, Computer, Informatics, Library and Information Sciences, Psychology, Journalism, Construction Engineering, Nursing, and Tourism. In these studies, the effectiveness of gamification on learning various educational topics such as the programming languages, English language, data structure and algorithm, mathematics, economy and politics, psychology, informatics, physics, German language, medicine, and biology, have been studied. The effectiveness of gamification on participation/engagement, learning, motivation, anxiety, peer assessment, collaboration, website optimization, cost reduction, and faculty load were among the subject areas studied in these articles. Effectiveness of game elements on behaviors such as leaderboard on anxiety, point on motivation, leaderboard on learning and engagement, half-anonymity avatar on motivation and engagement and, avatar on motivation are among other topics covered in these studies. Furthermore, a few research has been done on determining the game elements affecting learning and motivation, the possibility of predicting the game elements suitable for different users, and gender differences in dealing with gamification. The game element point, leaderboard, badge, levels, challenge, and feedback were used more than other elements. Other elements of the game used in educational environments include avatar, progress bar, social sharing, unexpected rewards, time limit, freedom to fail, currency, missions, and rules/goals. The number of game elements used in these studies varies. In some studies, only one element of the game has been used, and in other studies, two, three, or even more elements of the game have been used and evaluated. Conclusion: The results indicated the effectiveness of gamified e-learning environments to increase learning, engagement, and motivation of learners. Introduction: Evaluating different fields of clinical education is necessary to improve the medical course. Among these, clinical rounds are an important part of clinical education. Therefore, achieving maximum realization in any clinical field is the goal of every medical training center. Methods: Present descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted at Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences by census method on more than 67% of clinical medical professors and 79% of medical students who are on internship. The research instrument included a questionnaire of demographic information and a clinical round, which was prepared based on clinical standards approved by the Ministry of Health. 30 out of 44 clinical professors and 30 out of 38 interns succeeded in completing the questionnaires. The obtained data were analyzed by SPSS-16 software and tests (T-test and ANOVA). Result: The mean scores of clinical rounds of professors were 65± 13.16 and interns were 52.47± 35.19 and in general, the situation in this field was described as higher than the average (42) for both groups. Comparison of the two groups also showed a significant difference (P = 0.00). Thus, the mean scores of clinical round scores in the professors' group were higher than the average scores of the interns' group. Conclusion: The current clinical rounds situation in Shahrkord University of Medical Sciences was described as more favorable than average. Therefore, in order to further promote medical education, it is recommended that universities continuously evaluate and monitor the status of various areas of clinical education in order to reach the ideal level as soon as possible. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: One of the most important components of the educational system is the professors who have a decisive role in achieving educational goals. Evaluation is one of the most important bases for improving the quality of education. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the evaluation priorities of professors from the perspective of students of Neyshabur University of Medical Sciences. METHODS: This cross-sectional descriptive and analytical study was conducted at Neyshabur University of Medical Sciences in 2013. All students of Neyshabur School of Medical Sciences (140) were enrolled in the census. Data were collected using a questionnaire whose reliability was 0.83. Data were then analyzed by SPSS20 software. Significance level was set at 0.05. FINDINGS: The study population was 59 females and 60 males with a mean age of 20.58 ± 1.13 years. According to the students, the most important factors of a good teacher are mastery of the subject (84.2%) in teaching skills, expressing and conveying concepts (70%) in personal characteristics, respect for students (71.7%). In the communication skills section, the precise start and end times of the class (51.7%) were in the area of ​​observing the rules and regulations and a comprehensive and precise exam at the end of the semester (37.5%) in the assessment skills section. There was no significant difference between the 5 areas of study. There was no significant relationship between GPA and none of the evaluation domains. There was a significant difference between gender and the two domains of observance of rules and teaching skills. CONCLUSION: The results of the present study showed two areas: teaching skills and evaluation skills are more important for students. Therefore, university professors and faculty and universities should plan and strive to improve the quality of these two areas

Introduction: Quality is defined based on the recipient's request. Students are the main members of the higher educational system. The aim of this study was to investigate the items related to the quality of services from the students’ point. Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out in six faculties of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in 2015-2016. Five hundred and seven undergraduate students were enrolled by multi-stage random sampling method. The standard SERVQUAL questionnaire with 27 pairs of questions which evaluate the quality of educational servies, was distributed. SPSS version 24 was used for data analysis. Results: Overall, 303 individuals (60%) were female and another 60% were in basic science period. There was a negative gap in all items in all the faculties. The item related to "the appealing appearance of the employees" had the smallest gap (from -0.6 to -0.1). The greatest gaps were related to the following items: in the medical(-1.7±0.1) and health (-1.8±0.2) faculties, "preparing students for future jobs by providing necessary theoretical and practical trainings"; in the faculty of dentistry(-2.0±0.1), "staff flexibility in specific conditions"; in the faculties of pharmacy(-1.5±0.1) and nursing(-1.2±0.1) "room and environmental facilities"; in the faculty of paramedicine(-1.5±0.1), "possibility for students to comment on educational programs" and "appropriate time for conducting classes". Conclusion: Items with highest gaps were not similar among different faculties. Focusing on the identified items with the greatest negative gaps is highly recommended.

Background: Nutrition education and introduction of procedures for choosing healthier food have an important role to reduce the rate of non-communicable diseases. It was shown the amount of risk factors of non-communicable diseases such as energy, salt, sugar, fat and trans fatty acid on the traffic light of food labelling. The status of risk is presented through three colors of red, yellow and green that are the signs of risk, precautious and safe use of food. The object of this study was to evaluate the influence of education on the knowledge, attitude and practices of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences students to the traffic light on food labeling. Methods: This project was an empirical study performed by random sampling of 379 students of nine schools in Isfahan University of Medical Sciences from January 2017 to March 2018. The knowledge, attitude and practices of students toward the traffic light were assessed by self-administered and structured questionnaire. Education was performed face to face with the usage of pamphlet. In the period of three to six months, questionnaires were refilled out by students to determine knowledge, attitude and practice. Descriptive statistics were calculated using SPSS in mean± SD. Paired t-test was performed to assess the influence of education in total score of knowledge, attitudes and practices in test-retest. P value was considered less than 0.05 as statistically significant. Results: Before education, the average of scores for knowledge, attitude and practice was 1.12±0.84, 14.44±4 and 2.25±2.2, respectively. Afterwards, the scores were increased to 11.72±0.75, 18.67±3.18 and 17.69±4.7 after education. Effective teamwork is a critical element of a health workplace, but there are always challenges to meet the expectations of employers and workers. However, for the service-users in the health care setting is a requirement that they often presume to be in place. The duty of the policy makers, clinicians, and health system managers is to seek ways of improving the work conditions for workers and meeting patient expectations. In some countries, health system managers, policy makers, and educators are making major efforts to transform healthcare workplace into effective teamwork environments to achieve high-quality patient care with commitment toward integrative care. On the other hand, the continuous and rapid evolution of medical technology and the complexity of delivering patient-centered-care in the 21st century calls for teamwork and collaboration among healthcare professionals. This article explores the importance of fostering social skills and teamwork in both clinical and teaching environments, and proposes some strategies to guide pedagogical perspectives to promote and strengthen effective teamwork environments through curricular changes in nursing and other health professions. The research and expert opinions offer a comprehensive overview of the benefits of teamwork and its implementation. To transform health care workplaces into effective team-based environment requires educational strategies for incorporating and promoting interprofessional collaborations in the health professions’ curricula. Interprofessional education (IPE) is an ideal medium for introducing new knowledge to pre-professional students and healthcare professionals, and it is considered as an effective pedagogical means of improving collaboration. The World Health Organization (WHO)(1) recognizes the need for collaboration among healthcare professionals in both education and clinical practice. Collaborative practice also involves working closely with patients, families, and communities to provide the highest level of patient care(2). Using role-play or standardized patients in simulation labs allows pre-professional students to practice communication and decision-making skills necessary to work with patients and help them in their recovery journey. Educators wanting to incorporate IPE into their teaching and training strategies have several theories on which to draw. For example, sociocultural learning theory can be used as a lens through which to teach and evaluate team collaboration during students’ IPE in clinical rotations or simulation labs. Nurse educators, nurse leaders, and nursing professionals can utilize high-impact practices and develop experiential-based strategies for enhancing teamwork and collaboration in new generation of nurses. High-impact practices encompasses classroom activities designed to promote learning, engagement, and completion of those activities in didactic and online courses. Collaboration and teamwork can be encouraged within assigned three-person study groups or through incorporating assignments with a community-based learning element requiring students to complete interviews with experts in the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Interprofessional education should be a major focus of university programs training future professionals to ultimately enhance the quality of patient care. Students who have participated in IPE, say it leads to increased knowledge of other disciplines and creates opportunities to consult with members of different professions(3). As modern healthcare is delivered by multidisciplinary healthcare systems who rely on effective communication and teamwork to provide safe, efficient, and high- quality patient care, nurses in all specialty areas have countless opportunities to use their interpersonal skills to engage in collaboration and teamwork. To provide holistic, evidence-based, respectful attitudes toward patient-centered care and support, interprofessional education and collaboration are essential for health practitioners from different discipline backgrounds. It is crucial that nurse educators and nursing professionals take a firm stance in fostering social skills, teamwork, and the value of interprofessional collaboration in educating new generation of nurses.

Background: Changing the approach form professional education to interprofessional education is one of the new methods in health science education. The aim of this study was to evaluate improvement of learning and professional competency among postgraduate students through designing and implementation of interprofessional education (IPE). Methods: This method was started from 1st semester of educational year of 2016-2017. First, the Readiness for Interprofessional Learning Scale (RIPLS) questionnaire was completed by 80 postgraduate students. Then, IPE method was implemented through lecture/group discussion and practical/laboratory workshops with attendance of students/staffs from different disciplines. For evaluation of implementation, we used Interdisciplinary Education Perception Scale (IPES). Findings: Score of RIPLS questionnaire in four domains including team work and collaboration, negative professional identity, positive professional identity, and roles and responsibilities were more than average. In IEPS questionnaire, before and after implementation, the score improved in four fields of competency and autonomy (33.55 ± 0.5 vs. 38.84 ± 4.5), perceived needs for cooperation (7.50 ± 1.97 vs. 9.07 ± 2.32), perception of actual cooperation (18.20 ± 5.39 vs. 24.53 ± 2.60), and understanding others value (11.20 ± 3.11 vs. 14.84 ± 1.67); and the most improvement was observed in field of perception of actual cooperation. Conclusion: Considering high susceptibility of post-graduate students, using education strategy based on IPE can improve health system and its responsibility in our country, and should be noticed by policymakers.

Background and Objectives: Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder is associated with many problems and several treatments have been proposed for the treatment of children with this disorder. The present study was carried out with the purpose of determining the effectiveness of play therapy and storytelling on the improvement of the symptoms of hyperactivity disorder/attention deficit disorder in students. Methods: The research method was pretest and posttest design with control group. At first, the Conners scale was implemented on 450 female students (age range, 7-12 years) in the schools of Semnan city. Then, 45 students who obtained the highest score based on the Conners scale, were voluntarily selected. In the following, these 45 students were randomly and equally assigned to two experimental groups of experimental (play therapy and storytelling) and control. Data analysis was performed using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and univariate variance analysis. The purpose of this study was to analyze the problems of the thesis implementation process and dissertations of the students of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of Tehran University and to provide some solutions to the existing problems. The present study was conducted in the framework of qualitative approach with phenomenological method. The research field was the University of Tehran and the participants were 8 postgraduate students and postgraduate students of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Tehran. Data were collected using in-depth semi-structured interviews. Data were analyzed using the George method in five steps. Research findings showed that graduate students' perceptions of students' problems in the process of their thesis and dissertation were divided into 7 general themes including student problems or individual factors (9 themes), professors' problems (10 themes), macro community problems (8 themes), Includes bureaucratic problems (8 sub-themes), problem selection (2 sub-themes), material problems (3 sub-themes) and implementation problems (2 sub-themes).

Background and Objective: Considering the increase in smoking among university students and the effect of health literacy on the adoption of preventive behaviors, this study aimed at determining the effect of educational intervention on health literacy and adoption of smoking preventive behaviors among students. Materials and Methods: The present study was a quasi-experimental interventional study that was conducted in 2016 among dormitory students of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran. In this study, 130 students (65 in each intervention and control group) were selected, using random multi-stages sampling method and entered the study. Educational intervention was performed using Telegram application and educational messages were sent to the students of the intervention group in 6 sessions. The data gathering tools were demographic and background characteristics questionnaire, Health Literacy for Iranian Adults (HELIA), and smoking preventive behavior questionnaire, which were completed in 3 stages including before, immediately, and 3 months after the intervention. The data were collected and analyzed, using SPSS 16 software. Results: Before the intervention, there was no significant difference between demographic and background variables, underlying level of health literacy, and adoption of preventive behaviors in both groups (p>0.05). This study investigated the relation educational justice and academic burnout in students. Research method is of an Explanatory mixed. The study population included of Mazandaran University in the academic. Using cluster and categorical random sampling Based on the Cochran formula of of 383 patients (241 females and 142 males) were selected as the statistical sample. Research tools consisted of Questionnaires educational justice Golparvar (2010) and academic burnout Berso’s (1997). Both of which questionnaires are valid and reliable. In the qualitative section data from 35 people to purposefully through semi-structured interviews were collected. For analyzing the data, descriptive statistics and inferential statistical tests (Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test, ANOVA and regression) is used. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between educational justice and is academic burnout. Between male and female students perceived Educational Justice and academic burnout level was no significant difference. No difference was observed between the faculties based on academic burnout, but in terms of educational justice the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, art and architecture and Technology & Engineering there is a significant difference. The results showed that improving educational justice reduce academic burnout in component is academic apathy.

Introduction: Communicating effectively with patients is the first step to begin clinical empathy. Empathy is a cognitive and behavioral attribute that plays an important role in the clinical performance of health care professionals. The aim of the present study was to evaluate empathy in undergraduate and postgraduate dental students of Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Science. Materials & Methods: In this descriptive cross-sectional study 312 dental students, 252 undergraduates and 60 postgraduates, were completed the HP version of the Jefferson Scale of Physician Empathy. Data were analyzed by SPSS17 using T-test and ANOVA. The significance level was set as P≤ 0.05. Results: Overall, 177(56.7%) men and 135(43.3%) women, with the mean age as 25.0±3.1 and age range between 21.0-45.0 participated in the study. The mean empathy scores was 86.6±8.8 (ranged between (69.0-118.0). The means of empathy scores was not significantly related with age, sex, university admission status and educational level (P< 0.05). In contrast, there were statistically significant correlation between empathy and marital status (P=0.05), education level (P=0.017) and passing the “communication skills” course (P=0.004). Conclusion: Based on the results of the present study, many factors could affect the empathy levels in dental students. Since the empathy scores in the present study are not satisfactory, a proper educational program to improve the empathy levels in dental students seems to be necessary. Introduction: Practicing health promotion behaviours is one of the best ways to maintain health. Modification of health promoting behaviors is essential for students and peer education can be an effective way. Therefore, the present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of peer education on nursing students' health promoting behaviors. Methods: In this quasi-experimental study , 80 nursing and midwifery students were selected by covenience sampling method in 2016-2017. Data gathering tool was Pender Health Promotion Standard Questionnaire. Before education, health promoting behaviors were examined. Then, the first and second semester nursing students were educated in a 4 sessions (each session was 1.5-hour), with lecture and peer education methods, respectively. Two months after education, post-test was done. The data were analyzed using statistical test by SPSS 16 Results: There were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of the mean score of health promotion behaviors (P=0.29) and their related dimensions including spiritual growth (P=0.776), responsibility (P=0.44), interpersonal relationships (P=0.556), stress management (P=0.238), exercise (P=0.704), and nutrition (P=0.06) before education. Introduction: Critical thinking is an essential skill and the ultimate goal for medical education. This study aimed to compare the critical thinking skills among medical and paramedical students who studied at the Fasa University of Medical Science. Method: A cross- sectional analytical study was conducted on 231 medical and paramedical students in 2015. The subjects were selected using a randomized stratified method. The critical thinking of students was investigated using California B questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics by SPSS v. 22.0. Results: The mean score of students' critical thinking was (2.3 ± 7.11). The results showed an overall weakness in utilizing critical thinking skills in Fasa medical students. Also, the overall mean scores of critical thinking skill and different aspects of the skill were compared across the two groups. A significant difference was found between the two groups. Conclusion: University education should address the critical thinking skills more. To achieve this, universities should train their students accordingly. Background and purpose: Educational levels shape the socioeconomic status of the family and the behavioral development of children. This study investigated the relationship between parental education and violence in adolescent students in Isfahan province. Materials and methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in 2800 high school students in Isfahan province using cluster sampling. Data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire that included demographic information, parental educational level, and students' violent behaviors (verbal, physical and psychological violence, Yes/No questions). Data analysis was done in SPSS v.24 applying Chi-square test and logistic regression test. Results: After adjusting for variables, the results revealed no significant correlation between frequency distribution of violent behaviors and parental education (P> 0.05) and the frequency distribution of these behaviors in the boys was found to be 1.4 times more that of the girls (P< 0.001). Conclusion: According to this study, there was no significant relationship between parents' educational level and the frequency of violent acts in their children. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Mobile learning is a new way of modern teaching method and a subset of e-learning that refers to a change in thinking about the design and planning of learning goals and environments. The purpose of this study was to investigate the attitude of students of the Medical Sciences School toward the mobile phone in educational activities and its usage. Methods: 150 students of Mashhad School of Paramedical Sciences were investigated in this crosssectional study in 2019-20, using a researcher-made questionnaire including three sections on student demographic information, mobile applications in education, and student attitude toward mobile phone use in educational activities. The questionnaire`s validity was obtained according to 7 experts' opinions in the field of education, and its reliability was calculated using Cronbach's alpha of 0.794. Data were analyzed by descriptive and analytical statistics using SPSS 16 software. Result: From the investigation of 150 students of Mashhad Paramedical Sciences opinions in six educational groups indicated that students of health information technology, laboratory science, physiotherapy, ophthalmology, radiology, speech therapy, medical records, mostly used mobile phones for their educational activities respectively. The most common use of students' mobile phones at university was the use of the Internet and social networks, taking photos and videos, and the most common use in teaching activities was reading files, viewing scores, recording audio and selecting units. From the students' perspective, using mobile phones in educational activities leads to getting higher scores, doing activities faster, make better communication between teacher and student, and speeded up the learning feedback. Conclusion: According to the results, we suggest encouraging teachers to use mobile phones in academic activities and running workshops to increase the awareness of mobile capabilities. Clinical education can be taken as a facilitating activity for learning in the clinical settings in which students gain experiences from patients’ bedside and apply their previously learned concepts through their interactions with their teachers and routine works. Clinical education provides an opportunity for students to transform their theoretical knowledge into diverse intellectual and psychomotor skills essential to patient care. The evaluation process of teaching and learning is one of the noticeable activities in educational institutions because the training of skilled and competent manpower, to a large extent, is dependent on this process. The use of modern educational techniques, increasing productivity, and ultimately enhancing the effectiveness of educational centers is the goal followed all over the world but, this is more emphasized in the field of medical sciences that are directly connected with maintaining and improving the health of people and society. This is why for more effectiveness of medical education applying new methods is necessitated. One of the evaluated and structured methods focusing on learning experiences in education is “logbook”. Logbook is a simple means for learners, a framework for organizing various educational activities and recording them. One of the unique characteristics of a logbook is that it requires students acquire a certain number of skills. This causes the students to do their tasks as planned and objectively too; and thanks to repetition and practice they would prevent probable errors. At present, a lot of clinical education aspects are different than in the past. Technology development, changes in the pattern of people’s lifestyle and higher exposure to environmental risk factors (Such as the development of chemical industry, natural or synthetic chemicals, biological agents including viruses and other microorganisms, behavioral factors including psychological stress and drug addiction) cause changes in the pattern of diseases in general and particularly in the domain of communicable and non-communicable diseases. Therefore, in accord with these changes, the graduates and scholars are expected to promote their skills and abilities. Since, identification and analysis of the effectiveness of educational needs are prerequisite for a successful educational system, revision and continuous reviewing of educational programs based on the possibilities, conditions, and new needs are inevitable. Thus, the results of a study on 233 medical students passing their clinical stage (externs or interns) in Birjand University of Medical Sciences in the academic year 2016-2017 showed that 24.5% of them knew high or very high helpful completion of their log books activities in attaining of clinical wards skills and 74.5% expressed the necessity of reviewing available log books in clinical wards. According to the obtained results the necessity of reviewing log books used in clinical wards of BUMS considering the latest clinical issues, diseases- including emerging and reemerging ones- and diagnostic -therapeutic methods in accordance with changes in diagnostic - therapeutic guidelines using the newest resources is critically felt. Furthermore, due to the pervasive use of electronic log books in recent years in medical universities across the country that are in line with developments and innovations in medical education, it is recommended that the log books at this university too, should be presented and evaluated electronically. Electronic log books with ongoing record of activities and clinical techniques based on educational objectives, in addition to learning consolidation, determine unavailable measures to achieve clinical objectives and, thus, cause regular monitoring and evaluation on the part of students.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Training courses are a suitable opportunity that student become familiar with themselves career, field of study and social needs. Secondly students become familiar with update applications and technologies. The aim of this study was to determine training from perspectives of environmental health of students Sabzevar University of Medical Sciences. METHODS: this study is an analytic-descriptive and cross sectional research. This research was conducted on undergraduates 8th semester of environmental health. The sampling method was census. The research instrument is a research-maker questionnaire. Content validity was confirmed by experts. Too Reliability was calculated through Cronbach's alpha coefficient 0.74. The study was conducted on students. Descriptive statistical methods and software SPSS version 16 is used to analyze the data. FINDINGS: A total of 48 students participated in the study that they were 15 (31.25%) men and 33 (68/75%) women. Students had not a positive view about the design and organization, implementation and evaluation, pilot education, regulatory and control programs, needed administrative actions of training activities .The teachers had a positive about regulatory and control programs than other training programs. CONCLUSION: Results showed that the students' views on all items student lower-than-average standard. The first step towards institutionalizing approach of responsive education is to identify the problem, deficiencies and the needs of current training programs towards responsive education to the needs of community. The final exam after completion of training, practical courses and activities performed by the students, assiduity to training problems and accurate planning are ways that help to increasing education quality.

Background and purpose: Drug and tobacco addiction is one of the major threats to adolescents and educating this group could be of great benefit in preventing the problem. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of media intervention on students' attitude towards drug and tobacco use. Materials and methods: In this quasi-experimental research a male high school was randomly selected. The subjects were assigned into either an experimental group (n= 30) or a control group (n= 30). Attitude questionnaire was performed in both groups. Pre-test was conducted in the groups. Then, the experimental group received audio and visual messages derived from 12 educational sessions. Data at pre-test and post-test were compared to investigate the efficacy of the intervention. Data analysis was done applying independent t-test and analysis of covariance. Results: The findings showed that education through audio and visual messages had a significant effect on changing students' attitude in the subscale of interest in consumption (Eta1= 0.29 and Eta2= 0.19), physiologic (Eta1 and Eta2= 0.12), mental health (Eta1= 0.1 and Eta2= 0.16), and social (Eta1= 0.09 and Eta2= 0.21) effects. These messages also significantly changed the total score for attitude toward drugs (Eta1=0.06 and Eta2= 0.09) (P= 0.001). Indeed, the average negative attitudes towards drugs and tobacco and their subscales increased after receiving the educational messages. Conclusion: Both methods of education (visual and audio messages) were found to be effective on the students 'attitude towards drug abuse, tobacco and addiction, and strengthened the students' negative attitude. But, visual messages were more effective and authorities should pay more attention on this. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Nutrition education and introduction of procedures for choosing healthier food have an important role to reduce the rate of non-communicable diseases. It was shown the amount of risk factors of non-communicable diseases such as energy, salt, sugar, fat and trans fatty acid on the traffic light of food labelling. The status of risk is presented through three colors of red, yellow and green that are the signs of risk, precautious and safe use of food. The object of this study was to evaluate the influence of education on the knowledge, attitude and practices of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences students to the traffic light on food labeling. Methods: This project was an empirical study performed by random sampling of 379 students of nine schools in Isfahan University of Medical Sciences from January 2017 to March 2018. The knowledge, attitude and practices of students toward the traffic light were assessed by self-administered and structured questionnaire. Education was performed face to face with the usage of pamphlet. In the period of three to six months, questionnaires were refilled out by students to determine knowledge, attitude and practice. Descriptive statistics were calculated using SPSS in mean± SD. Paired t-test was performed to assess the influence of education in total score of knowledge, attitudes and practices in test-retest. P value was considered less than 0.05 as statistically significant. Results: Before education, the average of scores for knowledge, attitude and practice was 1.12±0.84, 14.44±4 and 2.25±2.2, respectively. Afterwards, the scores were increased to 11.72±0.75, 18.67±3.18 and 17.69±4.7 after education. Significant difference was observed in the scores of knowledge, attitude and practice of students before and after education (P<0.05). Conclusion: Education of traffic light had a significant role in the improvement of knowledge, attitude and to some extent of practice of students in selection of healthier food.
