Objective: drawing on voluntary disclosure theory, the paper's main goal was to analyze the main effect of marketing intensity and the moderating role of life cycle on disclosure of marketing investments. Method: the sample includes 89 Brazilian companies listed on B3 stock exchange. We collected financial data from two sources, such as Economatica platform and in the explanatory notes and management report from the companies, which we coded through content analysis. We merged these two datasets and analyzed it using multiple linear regression. Results: both the marketing intensity and the life cycle of companies have effects on disclosure of marketing investments. In addition, the birth and growth phases moderate the main effect of marketing intensity, reducing the level of disclosure. This moderation is identified especially in disclosures of qualitative information. Conclusions: the findings support the voluntary disclosure theory based on arguments of judgment-based disclosure. Outcomes showed that when there is a high intensity of marketing investments, disclosure of marketing investments is managed by moving from the status of secrecy in companies in the birth and growth phases of life cycle to the status of differentiation resource in companies in the maturity phase of life cycle. In a world where the development of Science and Technology is prioritized with little to no attention in its social implications, an education method that seeks a broad formation of the students to live in this world is one of the greatest contemporary challenges. In this perspective, the Science-Technology-Society (sts) approach associated with Professional and Technological Education (pte) can be viable to the promotion of a scientific-technological education based on criticality and citizenship. Thus, this article aimed to conduct an exploratory study, of State of the Art type, regarding the academic production that discusses sts in periodicals that pte approach, Technological Education and Work and Education. To achieve that, we conducted research for scientific papers in the databases of 12 Brazilian periodicals that debate professional and technological education, encompassing the period of 1995 to 2020. The data was evaluated by the Bardin content analysis (2002) and the textual statistics supported on Iramuteq. The results showed that there is a predominance of theoretical works directed at higher education, divided in four themes, with the most cited authors being Bazzo, Auler, Santos and Mortimer and Von Linsingen. PERFORMANCE management , *LEADERSHIP , *CONTENT analysis - Abstract
The following paper aims to describe the maturity level of institutional and individual performance management (PM) practices in a federal regulatory agency. Three Technical Groups (TGs) of public servants from three different careers were interviewed with questions concerning the PM maturity level in the organization. The answers were registered and a thematic content analysis was carried out. The results of the analysis identify performance management in a state of uncertainty, lack of patronization and systematization. Factors such as the role of leaderships, informal communication and shared attitudes and perceptions towards the importance of PM, have showed to be relevant for maturity in organizational departments. Given the conclusions and variables identified in this study, we recommend a survey to be carried out in the organization to measure attitudes towards performance management. We also recommend, in future research, the consideration of variables referring to the organizational structure, which may offer support to the comprehension of the maturity level as a contextual variable in the organization.
