The aim of this study was to reveal animation impact on six-eight-yearold children development of the concept of death. It is assumed that the different animated movies have a different impact on children's perceptions of death. This study evaluated effect on children's perceptions of death of two different genres of animation - the old Russian animation, which provides adequate information aboutdeath, and the Japanese anime cartoons, which show many scenes of violence and the emphasis on immortality. Method. The study participants (101 children aged 6 years and 3 months up to 8 years 11 months) were divided into two groups, where for three weeks, every day 15-30 minutes they watched the animated genre movies. Results, conclusions. The results revealed that different animated movies have a different impact on children's perceptions of death. Old Russian animated movies have a positive impact on children's perceptions of death. Japanese anime cartoons haven't a significant impact on children's perceptions of death, but degrades understanding component of concept of death - irreversibility. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
