Purpose : This study aimed to investigate the impact of clinical reasoning competence, positive psychological capital, and nursing work environment on nursing performance of intensive care unit (ICU) nurses in tertiary general hospitals. Methods : Data were collected from 169 ICU nurses in tertiary general hospitals in Busan, South Korea, from July 27 to August 15, 2023, using a self-report questionnaire. After excluding 12 questionnaires with insufficient responses, 157 responses were analyzed. Descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis were employed. Results : Factors influencing nursing performance included clinical reasoning competence (β=.51, p < .001), hope as a subfactor of positive psychological capital (β=.31, p < .001), and the nursing foundations for quality of care in the nursing work environment (β=.21, p < .001). The explanatory power of the regression model was 62% (F=87.41, p < .001). Conclusion : The study underscores the importance of improving clinical reasoning competence among ICU nurses to enhance nursing performance and foster a hopeful attitude through reflective practices and personal growth. Organizational interventions, such as educational and psychological support programs, along with creating a supportive nursing environment, are crucial for improving nursing performance among intensive care unit nurses. Purpose This study aimed to identify the perceptions, importance, and performance of midwives’ roles among midwives and nurses in Korea. Methods A descriptive correlational design was employed. Data were collected from 164 nurses and 79 midwives from April 1 to June 25, 2021. Midwives enrolled in the Korean Midwifery Association and nurses and midwives from two hospitals each Daegu and Gyeonggi Province in Korea were invited to participate. The independent t-test, chi-square test, the Welch-Aspin test, and Pearson correlation coefficient were used for analysis. Results The midwives’ role perception score (3.47±1.46) was lower than that of nurses (3.95±0.85), and the midwives’ role performance score (2.98±0.83) was also lower than that of nurses (3.34±0.89). Significant differences were observed between midwives and nurses in their perception and performance of roles related to prenatal management, childbirth management, management of psychological changes, postpartum management, and newborn care. Higher role perception and performance among midwives were linked to the management of psychological changes and women’s health, indicating potential areas for future development. Conclusion The study results suggest directions for developing new roles for midwives. It is necessary to find a way to expand the field of midwives in public health by benchmarking the roles of midwives in various countries.

Purpose: This study investigated the effects of job embeddedness and resilience on the relationship between job rotation stress and nursing work performance among clinical nurses. Methods: We conducted a nationwide online survey with 205 nurses employed at advanced general or general hospitals. Data were collected from August 17 to October 5, 2021. We analyzed the data using various descriptive statistics, independent t-tests, one-way analysis of variance, Scheffe test, Welch test, Games-Howell test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, multiple regression, and the PROCESS macro with a 95% bias-corrected bootstrap confidence interval. These analyses were conducted using SPSS Windows Software version 23.0 and SPSS PROCESS macro version 3.5.2. Results: Nurses' job embeddedness mediated the relationship between job rotation stress and nursing work performance (B=-0.02, p<.05). Furthermore, their resilience moderated this mediated relationship, also known as moderated mediation, with job embeddedness as the mediating factor (B=-0.02, p<.05). Conclusion: These findings imply that, when devising a strategy to improve the nursing work performance of nurses undergoing job rotation, their resilience levels should be considered. Purpose: This study was conducted to understand the factors influencing the performance of nurses to identify interventions to promote nursing performance. The study focused on workplace bullying, social interaction anxiety, and positive psychological capital. Methods: Data were collected from 148 nurses who had been working for over six months at four hospitals and analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. Results: Significant differences were found in nursing performance grades by age (F=3.93, p=.010), marital status (t=-2.52, p=.013), current department experience (F=3.72, p=.013). Nursing performance had a negative correlation with social interaction anxiety (r=-.27, p=.001) and positive psychological capital (r=.61, p<.001). Factors affecting nursing performance were positive psychological capital and age, such that the 40~49-year-old group had a relatively higher influence on nursing performance than the 29-year-old group. The explanatory power of regression analysis was 3% (F=47.65, p<.001). Conclusion: The results suggest that to improve nursing performance, positive psychological capital based coaching and educational programs would be suitable for nurses and should be applied to the nursing education curriculum. Purpose This study aimed to develop an emotive role-play program for nursing students focusing on high-risk pregnancy and analyze its effects on communication skills, clinical performance, and emotional intelligence. Methods A quasi-experimental nonequivalent comparison group design was adopted with 83 nursing students (experimental group, 45; comparison group, 38) who participated voluntarily in an extracurricular program. The preliminary survey was conducted on November 3 and November 4, 2020, and the follow-up survey was conducted on November 12, 2020, for the comparison group and on November 27, 2020, for the experimental group. A program that included five role-play scenarios related to induced labor, preeclampsia, premature rupture of membranes, preterm labor, and infertility was developed by a group of experts and presented to the experimental group over 11 total hours across 3 days. Each student participated in a role-play scenario as a patient, family member, or nurse and observed three other scenarios. The comparison group received a workbook after the follow-up evaluation. The independent t-test was performed to analyze changes in communication skills, clinical performance, and emotional intelligence. Results Communication skills (t=1.84, p=.035) and clinical performance (t=2.75, p=.004) significantly increased in the experimental group compared to the comparison group. A significant difference was not observed between the experimental and comparison groups for emotional intelligence (t=1.36, p=.088). Conclusion The emotive role-play program concerning high-risk pregnancy was effective in improving nursing students’ communication skills and clinical performance and can be used in nursing education related to high-risk pregnancy and childbirth.

Purpose: This study was a descriptive study to identify the factors affecting nurses' care burden of patients with hematologic neoplasm (PHN) in the intensive care unit (ICU). Methods: A total of 139 ICU nurses were enrolled and data were collected using self-report questionnaires about compassion satisfaction, compassion fatigue, nursing work performance, and the care burden of PHN. Data were analyzed using the independent t-test and one--way analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and hierarchical regression analysis. Results: The average of nurses' care burden of PHN was 35.75 points in the ICU. Analyzing the correlations among the main variables showed that the care burden of PHN showed a negative correlation with compassion satisfaction and nursing work performance, and a positive correlation with compassion fatigue. We noted that the compassion satisfaction showed a negative correlation with burnout and a positive correlation with nursing work performance. The factor affecting the care burden of PHN was burnout (β=.30, p=.019), and showed a significant explanatory power of 16.0% (F=7.37, p<.001) Conclusion: Efforts such as policies and nurse support programs are needed to reduce burnout, a factor that affects care burden of PHN in intensive care nurses. Purpose: This study examined the degree of self-leadership, emotional intelligence, nursing professionalism, and nursing performance of intensive care unit (ICU) nurses, and aimed to identify factors influencing nursing performance. Methods: In this descriptive study, the study participants were 121 nurses with over 6 months of experience working at a tertiary general hospital in Seoul. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the independent t-test and one-way analysis of variance, the Scheffeé test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. Results: The average scores for self-leadership, emotional intelligence, nursing professionalism, and nursing performance were 3.66±0.40, 5.06±0.62, 3.59±0.37, and 3.11±0.29, respectively. In this study nursing performance showed statistically significant differences according to gender (t=2.39, p=.018), age (F=20.62, p<.001), marital status (t=-2.94, p=.004), educational background (t=-4.05, p<.001), total experience (F=11.95, p<.001), ICU experience (F=12.44, p<.001), and work department (F=3.33, p=.026). Self-leadership (r=.41, p<.001), emotional intelligence (r=.31, p<.001), and nursing professionalism (r=.24, p=.007) were positively correlated with nursing performance. Factors affecting nursing performance were ICU experience (β=-.42, p<.001), self-leadership (β=.30, p=.001), and emotional intelligence (β=.17, p=.046), with a total explanatory power of approximately 35%. Purpose: This study aimed to examine the moderating effect of organizational justice on the relationship between self-efficacy and nursing performance among clinical nurses. Methods: In January 2021, a cross-sectional survey was conducted with 224 clinical nurses recruited from a university-affiliated hospital in Suwon, South Korea. Participants completed online-based, self-report structured questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed using multiple regression and a simple model of PROCESS macro with a 95% bias-corrected bootstrap confidence interval. Results: Self-efficacy and organizational justice were found to be significant predictors of nursing performance. These two predictors explained the additional 34.8% variance of nursing performance in the hierarchical regression model, after adjusting the other covariates. In addition, organizational justice moderated the relationship between self-efficacy and nursing performance among the clinical nurses. In particular, at low self-efficacy level, participants with high organizational justice had higher nursing performance compared to those with low organizational justice. Conclusion: Enhancing organizational justice can be used as an organizational strategy for improving the organizational culture in terms of distribution, procedure, and interaction. Ultimately, these efforts will contribute to the improvement of nursing performance through a synergistic effect on organizational justice beyond nurses' individual competency and self-efficacy. The current study is a meta analysis study to identify the factors related to infection management performance and the effect size according to the factors. Data collection was included from the data of KMBASE, RISS, KISS, DBpia, National Library of Korea, Pubmed, and EMBASE. R3.5.1 was used for the data analysis. A total of 22 factors were identified. The meta analysis showed the effect size as follows: gender(.16), age(.30), education(.32), beds(.28), needs of education in infection management(.44), participating in education of infection management(.25), recognition/knowledge in infection management(.70). This study designed a research model to analyze the relationship between organizational commitment and work performance for outsourcing workers. The path relationship was analyzed using the PLS-SEM of the sample collected through the survey. As a result of the study, organizational support perception had a direct effect on the work performance of outsourcing workers, and the company commitment and customer company commitment had a mediating effect. In addition, it was confirmed that the workers showed dual commitment to the company and the customer company, and the organizational commitment to both companies was complementary. In previous studies, stress in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) work environment was focused on lowering work performance by negatively affecting the emotions of organizational members. In the current corona pandemic era, as the ratio of organizational members working from home in a smart environment increases, the need for research on the effects of positive and negative stress on work performance is being raised. Accordingly, by applying the Affective Event Theory to the emotional effects of stress on employees' emotional responses, the effects on work performance were analyzed by dividing them into positive and negative emotions. Also, the effect of smart work on work performance was analyzed. This survey was commissioned by a research company and analyzed using Smart PLS 3.0 tool. Therefore, based on the research results, it was suggested that stress does not only negatively affect the emotions of employees, but that the challenge stress that appears in the mind to achieve a goal induces positive emotions in the employees' emotions and helps to improve work performance. Purpose: This study aimed to compare the value congruence of nurse-patient assignment (NPA) with work performance in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Methods: Data were collected with 30-items on factors that affect NPA and 17-items on work performance. Two questionnaire surveys each were conducted with 79 nurses from the NICU. The difference between expectations and actual experience on NPA were analyzed, and the effects of NPA on work performance and overtimes were investigated. The collected data were analyzed with a paired t-test, analysis of variance, and Pearson's correlation coefficients using the SPSS software version 20.0. Results: The NPA criteria were surveyed with 30 items, with 13 patient-related, and 17 nurse-related. The validity of the tool was S-CVI .95 and the reliability (Cronbach's α) was .942. There were significant differences based on age (F=3.69, p=.029) and caring for patients on an artificial ventilator (t=2.55, p=.013). The higher the patient-related actual assignment score, the higher the nurse-related actual assignment score (r=.68, p<.001) and work performance (r=.48, p<.001). As the nurse-related actual assignment score increased, work performance also increased significantly (r=.36, p=.001). Purpose The purpose of this study was to investigate work performance and calling as determinants of job satisfaction among nurse midwives. Methods The participants of this study were registered nurse midwives who had worked in the delivery room for more than 6 months. Data were collected by face-to-face interviews, postal mail, and mobile devices. Subjects completed self-report questionnaires from July to August 2017. The dataset was analyzed using descriptive statistics, the independent t-test, analysis of variance, the Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. Results The mean score for job satisfaction was 3.42±0.45. Among the sub-factors, income had the lowest score (2.67±0.72) and management of delivery had the highest score (3.81±0.66). Job satisfaction was significantly different according to marital status (t=2.25, p=.028), residential area (t=2.43, p=.016), and cause of job satisfaction (F=4.54, p=.012). The purpose of this study is to understand the mediating effect of self-leadership in the process of understanding the effects of nursing job performance and job satisfaction in the nursing work environment perceived by nurses. In this study, nurses who worked for more than one year at three general hospitals located in Province A. Total of 225 data were used for the final analysis. Date analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 program by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and hierarchical regression analysis. Self-leadership was found to play a partial mediating role in the relationship between nursing work environment and nursing job performance(z=4.30, p<.001) and between nursing work environment and job satisfaction(z=3.70, p<.001). Therefore, in order to improve nursing job performance and job satisfaction, it will be necessary to establish a management plan that can improve the nursing work environment and improve self-leadership. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the attributes, antecedents, and consequences of nurse's work interruptions. Methods: Walker and Avant's concept analysis method was used to analyze this concept. Relevant articles published before August 2018 were searched through MEDLINE, CINAHL, EMBASE, KISS, and RISS databases using "interruption," "work or task," and "nurse" as keywords. Results: The attributes of work interruption by nurses were as follows: 1) new tasks to do; 2) cognitive transition of work priorities; 3) loss of work continuity; 4) tasks to be resumed. The antecedents of work interruption were intrusion of unplanned events, internal and external factors that result in nurses forgetting their original intentions, an unpredictable work environment, and cultural climate where interruptions are considered as a part of the work process. The consequences of work interruption were decline in job satisfaction, trigger of work errors, lengthening of work completion time, decline in work productivity, increase in work stress, and delay of transferring needed information in a timely manner. Conclusion: The results of this study provide basic data to reduce the negative consequences of nurses' work interruptions, and contribute to expanding the knowledge necessary for improving patients' safety and nurses' performance. Purpose: This study was done to identify the effects of nurse-physician collaboration on nursing performance and organizational commitment in intensive care unit (ICU) nurses. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was used and data were collected from 203 ICU nurses working in two advanced general hospitals and two general hospitals. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, One-way ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson correlation coefficients and Hierarchical multiple regression with SPSSWIN 23.0 program. Results: The sub-domains of nurse-physician collaboration were as follows: 3.77±0.51 for sharing of patient information, 3.36±0.65 for decision-making process on the cure or care, and 3.20±0.72 for relationship between nurse and physician. Nurse-physician collaboration was significantly positively correlated with nursing performance and organizational commitment. Regression analysis showed that nurse-physician collaboration explained an additional 24.9%p of nursing performance and an additional 13.4%p of organizational commitment. 'Sharing of patient information' and 'Relationship between nurse and physician' were significant predictors of nursing performance. 'Relationship between nurse and physician' was a significant predictor of organizational commitment. Conclusion: These results provide evidence that the collaboration between nurses and physicians should be enhanced in terms of sharing patient information and mutual respect, to improve nursing performance and organizational commitment of ICU nurses. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test the mediating effect of job embeddedness in the relationship between nursing practice environment on nursing job performance and organizational commitment. Methods: For this study a descriptive design with survey method was utilized. Participants were 192 clinical nurses recruited from 2 hospitals in A, B city and J province in Korea. From June, 6 to 24, 2018, a questionnaire scale was used to collect the data. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, and liner regression analysis. Results: There were significant positive relationships for nursing job performance and organizational commitment with nursing practice environment. In addition, job embeddedness had a full mediating role in the relationship between nursing practice environment and nursing job performance, and a partial mediation effect in nursing practice environment and organizational commitment. Conclusion: The purpose of this study was to identify the mediating effects of job embeddedness and to find ways to improve organizational commitment, which is a useful variable to predict performance outcomes, nurse job performance and job behavior of organizational members. Purpose : This study examined the factors influencing posttraumatic and conflict management styles for nursing performance in intensive care units (ICUs). Methods : In this study, 250 nurses from eight general hospitals in three cities participated. Structured self-report questionnaires were used to collect data on posttraumatic, conflict management styles, and nursing performance. Finally, the data were analyzed by SAS 9.3 program. Results : The mean of total sum scores was 31.29, and the high risk of posttraumatic symptoms was 61.2%. It was noted that nursing performance is significantly correlated with collaboration, compromise, accommodation styles, and intrusion. Collaboration styles (β=0.39, p<.001) and hyperarousal (β=-0.22, p=.050), ICU experience below 1 year (β=-0.21, p=.027) and that of 5-10 years (β=-0.19, p= .049), and compromise style (β=0.16, p=.049) were found to be the factors influencing nursing performance with 35.9% explanatory power value of regression model. Conclusions : The results of the study reveal that conflict management styles, hyperarousal, and ICU experience are factors predicting the successful performance of ICUs. Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify effects of perceived nurse-nurse collaboration and nurse-physician collaboration on nursing performance in perioperative nurses. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was used and data were collected in September 2016. Participants were 186 perioperative nurses from three advanced general hospitals and nine general hospitals. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, One-way ANOVA, Scheffee test, Pearson correlation coefficients and hierarchical multiple regression with the SPSS/WIN 23.0 program. Results: The mean scores were for nurse-nurse collaboration, 2.92±0.28 out of 4, for nurse-physician collaboration, 3.29±0.65 out of 5, and for nursing performance, 3.85±0.47 out of 5. There were statistically significant positive correlations among nurse-nurse collaboration, nurse-physician collaboration, and nursing performance. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis revealed that nurse-nurse collaboration explained an additional 29%p of nursing performance. Shared processes, conflict management, and professionalism of nurse-nurse collaboration were statistically significant predictors of nursing performance. The nurse-physician collaboration explained an additional 3%p of nursing performance. Sharing of patient information was a statistically significant predictor of nursing performance. Conclusion: Findings indicate that intervention programs that integrate and strengthen shared processes, conflict management, professionalism, and sharing of patient information are useful to enhance nursing performance. This study aimed to identify the effect of emotional intelligence, nursing work environment on nursing performance in clinical nurses. Data were collected through a self-report questionnaire for 222 subjects and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression with SPSS WIN 22.0 program. The results showed that nursing performance had significant correlations with emotional intelligence and nursing work environment. Also, the influencing factors on nursing performance were emotional intelligence, age, nursing satisfaction, nursing work environment, and nursing unit. These factors explained 50.0% of variance. Therefore, emotional intelligence, age, nursing satisfaction, nursing work environment, and nursing unit should be considered in developing and applying an nursing interventions program to improve the nursing performance among clinical nurses. Purpose: This study was done to identify the ways regional public hospital nurses perceive the healthcare accreditation system as related to their patient safety management activities and nursing performance Methods: The participants were 190 nurses chosen with convenient sampling from nurses who worked at regional public hospitals that had obtained healthcare accreditation as of May, 2016 and who had experienced the healthcare accreditation process at least once and whose clinical experience was one year or longer. Collected data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression analysis. Results: There were significant positive correlations between perception of the Healthcare Accreditation System, patient safety management activities and nursing performance. Factors affecting patient safety management activities were activities to improve medical service quality, patient dissatisfaction and difficulties, changes and values. These factors explained 55.4% of variance in patient safety management activities (F=22.25, p<.001). The factors affecting nursing performance were being charge nurses and activities to improve medical service quality. These factors explained 48.1% of the variance in nursing performance (F=16.57, p<.001). Conclusion: Finding indicate that positive perception of the healthcare accreditation system by nurses at local government institutions is a factor in heightening patient safety management activities and nursing performance. Purpose: The purpose of the study was to examine the frequency and competency in care services by length of job experience and level of service difficulty among direct care-workers in long-term care facilities in Korea. Methods: A cross-sectional survey study design was used and data for 383 care-workers were analyzed. The case workers were recruited from 29 nursing homes located in different areas of Korea. Results: Mean age of care-workers was 53.42±7.14, (M±SD) scores for frequency and competency were 4.08±0.59 and 3.92±0.66, respectively. There was no significant difference in frequency of long term care services, but competency was significantly different by length of job experience (t=-3.27, p=.001). For level of service difficulty, frequency of long term care service was highly significant only for level 5 service difficulty (t=-2.70, p=.007), but competency case-workers with over 3 years of job experience was highly significant for level 3 (t=-3.00, p=.003), level 4 (t=-3.61, p<.001), and level 5 (t=-3.78, p<.001) service difficulty. Conclusion: Findings indicate that competency of long term care service is significant by length of job experience and a high level of service difficulty, thus these factors should be considered in assigning roles for direct care-workers in long-term care facilities. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the casual relationship between nurses' social capital, job engagement and nursing performance and to verify the goodness of fit between a hypothetical model and actual data in order to suggest the best model. Methods: This survey was conducted with 250 nurses working in 3 general hospitals in Seoul. Data were collected from June 20 to July 29, 2016 and analyzed using SPSS/WIN 21.0 and AMOS 21.0. Results: Nurses' social capital and job engagement were found to have no direct effect on increasing nursing performance. But, it was found that social capital and job engagement had indirect effects on nursing performance through mediating organizational citizenship behavior. Social capital had direct effects on increasing job engagement and indirect effects on organizational citizenship behavior. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze literature related to nursing team effectiveness and to summarize the definition variables included, measurement tools, and findings. Basic data on operation and research for team effectiveness in nursing units was sought. Methods: A literature search was performed to identify all studies published between 2003 and 2016 from periodicals indexed in PUBMED, CINAHL, SCIENCE DIRECT, RISS, KISS, and NAL databases. The following keywords were used in the search: 'team effectiveness', 'nurse', 'nursing', and 'hospital'. Ten studies were analyzed. Results: The analysis included domestic and international literature on nursing team effectiveness. The foreign literature included studies of various organizations including nurses, use of various research tools, leadership programs and/or new nursing delivery systems. In the Korean studies, most of the research on team effectiveness surveyed nurses on team satisfaction, team commitment, and team performance in general nursing units, operating rooms, and intensive care units. Conclusion: The findings show the necessity to develop a definition of team effectiveness that can be accepted comprehensively in nursing organizations in Korea. The definition should reflect team effectiveness that includes all cooperating units not only nurses of the nursing unit but also all other related health care teams. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: The study examined core job characteristics and job preference to explain work performance among critical care nurses. The theoretical model was constructed based on the job characteristics model with core job characteristics as exogenous variables, and work performance and job preference as endogenous variables. Methods: A total of 228 hospital nurses participated in the study from May to September, 2015. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using structural equation modeling. Results: The model showed a good fit to the data with X2/df = 2.90, goodness of fit index = .91, root mean square residual = .20, comparative fit index = .93, and incremental fit index = .93. The core job characteristics explained 64% of the variance in job preference. The core job characteristics and job preference explained 52% of the variance in work performance. Conclusions: The core job characteristics can explain the work performance among critical care nurses through job preference. Effective strategies to improve the work performance among critical care nurses should focus on the application of the core job characteristic into a productive work environment. Further studies are warranted to explore the role of job preference of critical care nurses in promoting their work performance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate perceptions of adequacy and job performance of the nurse assistants' nursing job as evaluated by registered nurses and nurse assistants in geriatric hospitals, and by caregivers from the same hospitals. Methods: Participants included 62 registered nurses, 57 nurse assistants, and 64 patient caregivers who completed a measurement scale on the job of nurse assistants. Data collection was conducted from October to December, 2015. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and one-way ANOVA by IBM SPSS/WIN program version 21.0. Results: There were significant differences by items in perception of adequacy of nurse assistants' nursing job of among the three groups. There was also a significant difference in perception of the nurse assistants' job performance among the three groups. Conclusion: For nurse assistants in geriatric hospitals, the Ministry of Health and Welfare needs to develop an appropriate job practice guideline. This study was to explore the impact of organizational characteristics on knowledge sharing of dental hygienist on working for dental clinic or hospital. Data were collected from 349 dental hygienists by structured questionnaires in dental clinics or dental hospitals in Korea. Data was analysed by using SPSS 18.0 program with one-way ANOVA and multiple regressions. This study showed a positive correlation between knowledge sharing and clan culture of organizational culture(t=5.060, p=.000). It was described that knowledge share of dental hygienist has an effect on work performance partially. According to the study, dental organizational forms for knowledge sharing in the dental hygienist is require to maximize the work performance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: This study aimed to examine the moderating effect of organizational justice on the relationship between self-efficacy and nursing performance among clinical nurses., Methods: In January 2021, a cross-sectional survey was conducted with 224 clinical nurses recruited from a university-affiliated hospital in Suwon, South Korea. Participants completed online-based, self-report structured questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed using multiple regression and a simple model of PROCESS macro with a 95% bias-corrected bootstrap confidence interval., Results: Self-efficacy and organizational justice were found to be significant predictors of nursing performance. These two predictors explained the additional 34.8% variance of nursing performance in the hierarchical regression model, after adjusting the other covariates. In addition, organizational justice moderated the relationship between self-efficacy and nursing performance among the clinical nurses. In particular, at low self-efficacy level, participants with high organizational justice had higher nursing performance compared to those with low organizational justice., Conclusion: Enhancing organizational justice can be used as an organizational strategy for improving the organizational culture in terms of distribution, procedure, and interaction. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate work performance and calling as determinants of job satisfaction among nurse midwives., Methods: The participants of this study were registered nurse midwives who had worked in the delivery room for more than 6 months. Data were collected by face-to-face interviews, postal mail, and mobile devices. Subjects completed self-report questionnaires from July to August 2017. The dataset was analyzed using descriptive statistics, the independent t-test, analysis of variance, the Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression., Results: The mean score for job satisfaction was 3.42±0.45. Among the sub-factors, income had the lowest score (2.67±0.72) and management of delivery had the highest score (3.81±0.66). Job satisfaction was significantly different according to marital status (t=2.25, p =.028), residential area (t=2.43, p =.016), and cause of job satisfaction (F=4.54, p =.012). Job satisfaction showed a significant positive correlation with work performance (r=.29, p <.001) and calling (r=.57, p <.001). The correlation between work performance and calling was also positive and statistically significant (r=.32, p <.001). Purpose and meaning (β=.48, p <.001) and marital status (β=-.15, p =.025) significantly influenced job satisfaction. The model developed in this study explained 45% of variation in job satisfaction., Conclusion: Nurse midwives' job satisfaction may be enhanced by entrusting them with professional roles and tasks. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine correlations between nurses' self-leadership and individual work role performance and correlations between self-leadership in nursing units and team members' work role performance., Methods: Participants were 202 conveniently selected general nurses from 5 general hospitals in Korea. The study was carried out on 35 nursing units. Data were collected during February 2015 with self-report questionnaires., Results: For factors affecting individual work role performance, self-expectation, self-goal setting, constructive thought, clinical career in the present nursing unit and marital status accounted for 44.0% of proficiency, while self-expectation, self-goal setting, constructive thought, and marital status accounted for 42.3% of adaptivity. Self-expectation, self-goal setting, constructive thought, self-reward, clinical career in the present nursing unit and position accounted for 26.4% of proactivity. In terms of team members' work role performance, self-reward and self-expectation in nursing units explained 29.0% of team members' proficiency. Self-reward and self-expectation in nursing units explained 31.6% of team members' adaptivity, and self-reward in nursing units explained 16.8% of team members' proactivity., Conclusion: The results confirm that nurses' self-leadership affects not only individual self-leadership but also team members' work role performance. Accordingly, to improve nurses' work role performance in nursing units of nursing organizations, improvement in nursing environment based on self-leadership education is necessary and nurses' tasks rearranged so they can appreciate work-autonomy and challenges of work.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to validate the Korean version of the Ethical Leadership at Work questionnaire (K-ELW) that measures RNs' perceived ethical leadership of their nurse managers., Methods: The strong validation process suggested by Benson (1998), including translation and cultural adaptation stage, structural stage, and external stage, was used. Participants were 241 RNs who reported their perceived ethical leadership using both the pre-version of K-ELW and a previously known Ethical Leadership Scale, and interactional justice of their managers, as well as their own demographics, organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior. Data analyses included descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficients, reliability coefficients, exploratory factor analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis. SPSS 19.0 and Amos 18.0 versions were used., Results: A modified K-ELW was developed from construct validity evidence and included 31 items in 7 domains: People orientation, task responsibility fairness, relationship fairness, power sharing, concern for sustainability, ethical guidance, and integrity. Convergent validity, discriminant validity, and concurrent validity were supported according to the correlation coefficients of the 7 domains with other measures., Conclusion: The results of this study provide preliminary evidence that the modified K-ELW can be adopted in Korean nursing organizations, and reliable and valid ethical leadership scores can be expected.
