Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe nurses' experience of near misses in medication errors. Methods: Data were collected from April, 3 to October 30, 2019 through in-depth interviews with nine nurses who had worked in hospitals. Data was analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological methodology. Results: The three themes that emerged from the analysis were: Shameful things to hide, Inevitable matter to happen, and Step to move forward. Conclusion: The result has shown that nurses' experience of near misses in medication administration has happened not only because of individual matters but also institutional problems. Therefore, to improve the situation and prevent serious medication errors for nurses, both, individual and institutional problems need to be assessed, analyzed and change. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: This study aimed to obtain insights into the meaning and nature of the lived experiences of environmental health behavior among pregnant women. Methods: The hermeneutic phenomenology framework developed by Max van Manen informed this study, which included 17 pregnant women as participants. Data were collected using in-depth interviews of the participants between July and September 2020. Results: The key themes identified were: "fear of health threats to the mother and baby", "patience with inconveniences for fetal health", "movement for the environment", and "generativity embodied from pregnancy". Participants expressed that they had deeper experiences with regard to their environmental health behavior during pregnancy than they did before, and recognized that communal environmental behaviors impact future environmental pollution. They had a negative perspective towards environmental pollution involving plastics and chemicals, and wanted to protect their children's health by making the best possible behavioral choices. Conclusion: This study revealed the meanings of environmental health perceptions and behavioral experiences in the participants' sociocultural context. PURPOSE: This phenomenological study was to describe and to understand nurses' experiences of caring for woman with disability during pregnancy and childbirth. METHODS: Participants were 13 nurses from 3 hospitals and 2 local clinics in J city, and were selected through snow-balling method. Data were collected two face to face, semi-structured interviews. The researcher used MP3 player and smart phone for recording as well as transcription process. As for the data analysis, Colaizzi's method was applied. RESULTS: Nurses' experiences were structured as four theme clusters: ‘Communicating between/among nurses’, ‘Recognizing pregnancy and childbirth of woman with disability’, ‘Taking care of woman with disability based on their differences’ and ‘Reflecting on nursing care for woman with disability’. CONCLUSION: It seemed that nurses' recognition to woman with disability and her pregnancy and childbirth was related their nursing care for woman with disability.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the single-person household’s demand for a wearable healthcare system that provides the ischemic heart disease and cardiopulmonary alarm to be developed. In this study, in-depth interviews were conducted with six unmarried individuals in their thirties who were in the workplace and the results were interpreted by Giorgi's phenomenological analysis method. The study results indicated that although the wearable healthcare system was implemented with high-technology functions that serve the intended purpose, it is necessary to comprehensively consider factors such as aesthetics, comfort, and ease of washing. In this study, we found that the variables influencing the interviewees’ intent to accept healthcare services are complex and cannot be attributed to one factor alone; this study has also shown a variety of interpersonal correlations. In addition, although health-care research focusing on the elderly has been conducted in the past, it is suggested that younger generations such as those in their thirties can also be studied as health care service adopters. Purpose: This study was conducted to expand nurse's experience of harmful work environments Methods: Data were collected through in-depth dividual interviews and analyzed using Colaizzi phenomenological analysis methodology. Results: Harmful work environments experienced by nurses were categorized as followed: 'Neglect concerning infections', 'Being thrown into a violent working environment', 'The hard times of being alone', 'Struggling with the harmful work environments'. Conclusion: The results of this study provide a deep understanding of the harmful work environments. It is necessary to create safe work environments and it is important to improve awareness in the system of organizations as well as individuals. The purpose of this study was to investigate the content of job stress experienced by call center consultants. For that purpose, the investigator interviewed 11 call center consultants one-on-one in D City, conducting qualitative analysis of content of job stress they experienced according to Giorgi‘s phenomenological analysis procedure. As a result, there were classifications of job characteristics and individual characteristics. They were further classified into 8 categories and 24 subcategories. As for job characteristics, there were "limitations of work performance," "work burden," "inflexible work style," "uncontrolled customers," and "controlled demand." As for individual characteristics, there were "psychological instability," "personality vulnerabilities," and "poor coping resources." The categories of job characteristics and personal characteristics were classified into limit and control levels, respectively. It is found that poor coping resources mediate between job stress and personal characteristics. Based on these results, we discussed not only the existing organizational responses but also the combined interventions that mitigate the psychological stress after the unstable psychological state of the individual. The purpose of the present study is to understand the cultural aspects of the games through the logic and methods of phenomenological study for online games and to propose phenomenological research methods to many researchers performing various studies on the characteristics, addiction, culture, nature, features and types of the players. In particular, the way was investigated to study the game culture through the logic and methods of phenomenological study. Phenomenological research methods will help how to understand the game as a way to understand the cultural context of the specific and vivid life of gamers experience and human reality. This study aimed to explore process of convergence life experience by horticulture activity of mother of child with disability through qualitative research. The data collection consisted of interview data of two meetings with four participants and transcribed interview data. The collected data analyzed by coding process of conceptualization-subtopic theme-core theme. The result through the phenomenological research of this study appeared as start of connection, care and empathy, understanding about living things, healing, sharing, In conclusion, this study could search the process of relationship building with herself and the world behind her ,even though the process of convergence life experience of mother of child with disability started with little connection, as they became to understand the meaning of relationship through care and empathy and sharing. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe nurses' experiences of accidents in patient safety. Methods: Data were collected from October 8, 2011 to January 31, 2012 through in-depth interviews with seven nurses who had worked on wards or in the ICU in a university hospital. Data were analyzed by applying Colaizzi's phenomenological methodology. Results: The following six categories were extracted: Fear of the patient's condition caused by the accident, Conflict in the accident report, Blame on others and circumstances, Feeling guilty and sorry as the patient's condition is improving, Being disappointed with the unfavorable atmosphere in dealing with the accident, After the accident, being sensitive in performing nursing duties and being faithful to the principles. Conclusion: The results indicate that the organizational culture in the hospital related to accidents in patient safety is still closed and punitive, and such an atmosphere causes nurses to feel seriously hurt, but through this experience nurses are likely to mature as nursing professionals. Programs on prevention of accidents in patient safety and a system to guard against these accidents should be established. Also the organizational safety culture should be improved.
