Railway companies in the Tokyo Metropolitan Region have provided many residential areas, and the companies that originally focused on housing development have the ability to be good area managers alongside railways. The railway companies that operate in limited areas provide less housing. There is no doubt that Tokyu, with its many group companies, is working to provide support to many residents alongside its railways. Railway companies related to new town development schemes also have the ability to be good area managers. Keio created strong connections to the local authorities in its area. It has also set up a task force section for area development within the company. Keio's one-stop-service counter provides various types of life support for local residents. It is therefore necessary for local authorities to display an attitude of collaboration with railway companies to mobilize the housing stock market in order to enable railway companies to provide active area management. Most companies have established a one-stop-service system that connects local residents with group companies. Those companies are trying to encourage residents to continue living in their railway service areas by providing convenient housing services.

生活支援サービス付きの集住の場に移り住んだ高齢者に対する支援について示唆を得ることを目的に,軽費老人ホーム居住者が直面する人間関係の困難さとその対処方法,及び居住者の人間関係再構築の支援に係る職員の認識と対応を,居住者16名と職員5名に対する半構造化インタビューと参与観察で明らかにした.居住者は,「自分なりに対処する」一方,「職員を緩衝機能として活用する」ことで居住者間の関係を維持しようとしていた.また,ホームが催す会への参加を通じ相互理解を深めていた.そこは相互に場として機能しており,そのための職員の配慮があった.しかし職員は,居住者間の関係維持のために緩衝機能を果たすことや居住者間の交流の場において良好な人間関係を醸成するための介入を職責とは認識しておらず職員間で話し合うことがないまま,各々が対応に戸惑い,時にストレスにさえなっていた.施設は,居住者間の良好な人間関係の維持や改善の手助けも生活支援と位置付け,「施設の基本ポリシー」を明確にする必要があることが示唆された.

研究目的は，退院促進支援により退院し，退院支援施設で生活した精神障害者の生活能力を明らかにし，看護のあり方を検討することである．調査対象者は，施設入所後１年が経過した長期入院であった精神障害者１７名（男性１２名，女性５名）で，平均年齢は，５２．５歳，平均入院期間は１１．３年であった．データ収集は，調査対象者一人ずつに約２０分程度の半構成的面接を行った．その結果，逐語録から２５５のラベルが得られ，１１のサブカテゴリーに分類された．これらから「自分自身のペースに合わせた生活リズムの獲得」，「病気を悪化させないための自己管理」，「施設退所後の生活のための心の準備」，「良好な対人関係の構築」という４つのカテゴリーが抽出された．これらの結果から，施設利用者は自分なりのペースで社会復帰に向けての準備をしながら，着実に生活能力を身につけていることが示唆された．, The aim of this survey is to describe the life ability of people with mental disorders who entered the Discharge Support Center for People with Mental Disorders（DSC）, also to examine how best to help them. Participants were １７ people who had been long-term patients（１２ men and ５ females）living in the DSC for about a year. Their average ages were ５２．５ years old, and the average length of hospital stay was １１．３ years. Semi-structured interviews were conducted approximately１２months after discharged from the psychiatric hospital, transcribed verbatim and analyzed according to qualitative content analysis. Sentences of ２５５ were obtained, and they were classified into １１ subcategories. Finally, ４ categories were identified from these subcategories : “Acquisition of life rhythm matched to self-pace”, “Self-care to prevent aggravation of disease”, “Mental preparedness for social life after discharge from the DSC”, and “Creation of good interpersonal relationship”. From these results, it was suggested that people with mental disorders had social ability for social living by preparing with their own pace.

This paper, which is based on my case study at Vaxjo University in Sweden from 2005 to 2006, aims to show new ways of life security and life support for the disabled in Japan through the participant observation of Swedish community. First, I introduce current situations of life security and life support for the disabled in Sweden by researching social welfare system for the disabled in Vaxjo Community. Second, referring to my interview records, I explain about how to support the disabled and their families by Stodenheten (the support center for the mental disabled in Vaxjo). Third, investigating possibilities of social work in a Swedish community, I try to search for new ways of life security and life support for the disabled in Japan.

An incubator is one of the indispensable instruments for premature baby needed a medical treatment. The increase of low-birthweight neonatal appearance requires the highly efficient incubator, which can control temperature humidity etc. with high precision. We examined the flow and temperature distribution in an incubator with a numerical analysis in order to obtain the fundamental data for developing the more efficient incubator. The boundary dimensions of the incubator are 844mm (L), 413mm (D), and 495.5mm (H), and the bed for putting a neonatal to sleep is installed in the inside. Star CD which is general-purpose heat fluid analysis software was used for analysis. In a analysis of a half-domain, the solution was very stable, and the obtained solution was reliable. However, the result is completely symmetrical, of course, there still remains a problem in arguing about the phenomenon in an incubator as far. On the other hand, the solution of all the domain analyses showed that it was asymmetrical in distribution of temperature and velocity. That solution provided improvement of an incubator with useful information.

Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)(ISAS)), Sagamihara, Kanagawa Japan, The purpose of the Research Team "Microbiology in Space" is to develop life support systems to protect astronauts from all of problems caused by microorganisms during long duration space expeditions. It is well known that the living environment in International Space Station (ISS) has been progressively contaminated by microorganisms from the beginning of construction and various microorganisms such as fungi and bacteria have been isolated from ISS by NASA and Russian researchers. We are aware of the risk and strongly feel the need to take some countermeasures against microbial contamination in spacecrafts. In our research team, we have developed the methods and procedures for periodic and long-term microbial sampling from not only the environment but also flight crew members. Environmental monitoring in Japanese Experiment Module (JEM) Kibo has been started from 2009 and body sample collection from flight crew members has been started from 2010 by our research team members. We will analyze these samples to perform the risk assessment and management during stays aboard the ISS. For the JEM second phase utilization, we will be developing the Automated On-Board Microbial Monitoring Systems to detect microorganisms directory in JEM without sample return to the ground.
