A new type of solar pumped laser system that is characterized by high-efficiency and low cost is developed with newly designed Fresnel lens and a Cr codoped Nd:YAG ceramic laser medium. A 4-m 2 Fresnel lens collector is designed to collect wavelengths in visible range of solar light (400 to 900 nm). Solar light chamber was designed to efficiently couple the collected sun light to a rod shaped laser media. The laser output of about 80 W has been achieved with the combination of the Fresnel lens and solar light chamber. The maximum output from a unit area of the Fresnel lens was 20 W/m 2 , which is 2.8 times larger than the previous results with a mirror type concentrator.

シュリーレン法は、光学的可視化手法の1つとして高速風洞試験における流れ場の観察などによく用いられている。しかし、通常のシュリーレン法は凹面鏡間に生ずる密度勾配を積分するので、複雑な3次元構造の流れ場における任意断面の情報を得ることが困難であることが知られている。一方、流れに平行な任意断面の可視化が可能なシャープフォーカシングシュリーレン法(以下、フォーカシングシュリーレン法と記述)がWeinsteinによって提案され、低温風洞をはじめとした各種風洞実験に利用されている。本報告では、Weinsteinが提案したフォーカシングシュリーレンシステムを発展させ、より高光量の拡散光源としてロッド拡散光源を適用したフォーカシングシュリーレン装置を試作し、その可視化特性実験の結果および、遷音速衝撃波管翼型流れの模型スパン方向の断面の可視化への適用について報告する。実験には、間欠式の遷音速風洞として衝撃波管を用い、翼型模型には2重くさび翼型を用いた。その結果、本実験よりロッド拡散光源を使用すると拡散光源の照射面において、ほぼ一様に光を照射することが可能であり、ロッドを有する本システムは、遷音速衝撃波管翼型流れのスパン方向中央の可視化に適用可能であると考えられる。, 資料番号: AA0063333006, レポート番号: JAXA-SP-06-026

JEM(Japanese Experiment Module)-EUSO(Extreme Universe Space Observatory)計画は国際宇宙ステーションのJEM船外実験プラットフォームに大口径超広角望遠鏡をとりつけ10(exp 20)eVを超えるような極限エネルギー宇宙線が地球大気に入射したときに発生する微弱な蛍光やチェレンコフ光を捉え、その起源を探る計画である。本観測手法では、夜の地球大気をモニターする事になるため、大気中での各種発光現象の観測も行えるため、積極的に観測を行い、地球大気科学への貢献も目指す予定である。, 資料番号: AA0063353009

EUSO (Extreme Universe Space Observatory) is a scientific mission to investigate Extreme Energy Cosmic Rays and the High Energy Cosmic Neutrinos. It looks down the dark side of the Earth from the orbit to look for the streak of UV-light produced by an EECR interacting with the Earth's atmosphere. EUSO will observe the fluorescence signal induced in air by the Extensive Air Showers and the Cerenkov light diffused when the shower front impinges on a cloud top or on ground. EUSO is a super-wide field camera with a diameter of 2.5 meters. The UV-light is imaged by a Fresnel lens optics into a finely segmented focal surface detector. The subsequent Phase-A study is undergoing with a goal for flight in 2010.
