本研究の目的は、得点が比較可能な2つの版のリーディングスパンテストを作成することである。 情報の一時的な保持と処理を同時に行う記憶システムがワーキングメモリである。ワーキングメモリを測定するテストに、リーディングスパンテストがある。Daneman & Carpenter（1980）が開発した言語性のワーキングメモリを測定するテストで、リーディングスパンテストで測定されるワーキングメモリと読解能力の間には相関が見られることが示されている。本研究では、日本語学習者向けに同じ構成概念で作られた2つの日本語リーディングスパンテストを、形態を統一することで同一テストの2つの版として再構成した。そして、両テストで得られた結果が互いに比較可能なものか検証した。 2つの版のリーディングスパンテストを同じ受験者が受験し、結果を比較したところ、中程度の相関があった（r＝.604，p＜.001）。さらに、日本語習熟度中上級以上に限って2つのリーディングスパンテストの結果の相関を求めたところ、より強く相関した（r＝.671，p＜.001）。両者の得点等化が可能と判断し、回帰直線によって得点等化を行うための予測式を求めた。, 論文(Article)

本稿では、本学で行われている文型文法、読解・聴解、漢字のクラスのプレースメントテストをSPOT（SPOT90+Grammar90＋漢字 SPOT50）に置き換えることが可能かどうか検討するために、在籍学生40名のプレースメントテストとSPOTの結果に関して相関分析を行った。その結果、プレースメントテストの文字語彙・文法とGrammar90、プレースメントテストの読解とGrammar90、プレースメントテストの漢字と漢字SPOT50との間に強い正の相関が認められた。この結果から、文型文法クラスはGrammar90をもとにSPOT90を参考にする。読解・聴解クラスもGrammar90をもとにSPOT90を参考にする。漢字クラスは漢字SPOT50をもとにSPOT90を参考にすることで、置き換えの可能性が示唆された。しかし、実際に置き換えるには拙速で、さらなるデータ収集と精緻な検討が必要であると考えられた。

This study aimed to examine how intermediate-level learners of Japanese predict the content of the following sentences when they listen to sentences in Japanese, by using a test that is quite similar to SPOT. The results were as follows: (1) the size of the recognition load had no influence on the test score. (2) They probably predict the content of the following sentences incrementally based on a small unit, such as _bunsetsu_ (that approximately corresponds to a word plus bound morphemes), so that they can minimize the recognition load. (3) It was also confirmed, as has been done in the literature, that the intermediate-level learners of Japanese can make great use of predictions when they listen to the sentences.

カリフォルニア大学サンタバーバラの日本語プログラムでは、日本語学習歴のある学生に毎学期プレースメントテストを実施している。しかし、過去いろいろな問題点があり、今年度秋学期よりSPOT.をプレースメントテストの要として試用することになった。それに先立ち、春学期の終わりに日本語のクラスの学生を対象にSPOT.を実施した。本稿では、まず、現行のプレースメントテストの問題点、SPOT.試用に至った過程報告をする。続けて、現学生に実施したSPOT.の結果から見えてきた当日本語プログラムでの学生の到達度に関する考察を報告する。

It is expected that visible/infrared and microwave remote sensings provide independent information from a target of interest. We have conducted simultaneous visible/infrared and Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR)observations of a coastal lagoon area, specifically Lakes Shinji and Nakaumi. On September 21, 2000, simultaneous measurements by SPOT/HRV(visible and near-infrared)and ERS-2/AMI(SAR)were conducted. Turbidity distribution is obtained from the SPOT/HRV, and combined with streak-like SAR signatures. Borderline of lake water flow is then clearly identified from the two images. On August 23, 2003, simultaneous measurements by TERRA/ASTER(visible and near-infrared)and Pi-SAR (airborne SAR)were conducted. It is shown that the turbidity distribution from the ASTER and Pi-SAR images appear to correlate with the strong westery wind field. It is also suggested from the Pi-SAR image that surface wind near the coast line is weaker than the center of the lakes.

本研究では, 都市域・森林・耕作地が混在する地域に対して, 空間分解能の異なる疑似画像を生成し, 植生指標(NDVI)とそれに基づく月蒸発散量の推定に分解能が及ぼす影響について検討を行った。分解能6.25mから2km程度まで調べたところ, NDVIと月蒸発散量推定値の領域平均値は, 分解能にあまり影響を受けなかった。また, 700m程度まで平滑化されると, NDVlと月蒸発散量の関係式は線形で仮定できることが示された。, This paper describes how the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) evaluation changes and how the NDVI‐based evapotranspiration (ET) estimation changes, as the spatial resolution of remote sensing images becomes coarser.Degrading the 6.25‐m airborne MSS images and the 20-m SPOT/HRV images, the authors have simulated images with resolution of 16m to 2000 m.The mean of NDVI and ET estimation does not change remarkably as the spatial resolution becomes coarser.The relationship between NDVI and monthly ET can be regarded as linear for images with resolution of 700 m or more.
