Large earthquakes with magnitude 6.9 and 6.7 occurred on October and December, 1996 at the central part of Hyuganada Sea, east off Kyushu. In previous reports, crustal movement before and after these earthquakes are examined by using data at Miyazaki Observatory, DPRI, Kyoto Univ. Epicenter distances of these two events from the observatory were 52 km and 19 km, respectively. In this paper, we reexamine the relation between the crustal strain at the Miyazaki observatory and seismicity of Hyuganada region based on recent data.

これまで京都大学では，多くの(横坑式)観測坑道で伸縮計・傾斜計などによる地殻変動連続観測を行ってきた。これらの連続観測は観測坑道を取り巻く環境・立地条件により，経年変化速度，季節(年周)変化など，観測点毎に非常に多様性に富んでいる。一方近年においては，センサーやデータ収録の電子化，データ伝送の発達により，歪分解能や時間分解能の高精度化が進められ，スロースリップの検出，超長周期の表面波や地球自由振動等の地震波形など，地震学分野への取り組みがなされるようになって来た。このような動きの中，これまでの連続観測記録，観測施設の系統的評価が必要だと考えられる。本稿では各観測点の歪データの季節変化を同一方法で抽出し，ノイズレベルなどの比較・評価を行った。, We have operated some observatories for crustal deformations with extensometer, but these instruments and observation vaults have various characteristics because of long history of installation and configuration of the observation network. In recent years, extensometer records have been used not only for crustal movement research but also for DC-seismology. We intend to improve the accuracy of the observation to the level enough to study recent interested geophysical phenomena. As the second step of quantitatively assessment of each instrument, we will evaluate the seasonal variations and noise level by the common procedure in all available records with extensometers operated by RCEP .(The first step was the report about the tidal constants.)

日向灘地殻活動総合観測線に配置された7観測点における，最近の(15年間）地殻変動連続観測結果について調べた。各観測坑道は連続観測の目的のために新たに掘削を行った坑道や，鉱山の廃坑跡・防空壕跡を整備したものなど様々で，また観測坑の被り，温度，降雨の影響など環境の違いにより観測点特有の変動が現れている。最近では歪・傾斜の経年変化において，幾つかの成分に共通した時期を境に変化率が変わったり，傾斜方向が変わるような変動も観測されている。これらの変動は降雨や温度などの擾乱だけでは説明がつかず，観測点周辺の応力場の反映とも考えられ得る。また最近の日向灘周辺の地震活動は非常に静穏で，1996年2個の連続した地震(M6.9, 6.7)前後に異常な変化率を示していた宮崎観測点における歪経年変化も，以前の変化率に戻っている。, Results of continuous observations of crustal movements at 7 observatories in observationnetwork of crustal activities around the Hyuganada region of Kyushu, Southwest Japan, are described. Though secular variations of continuous strain observations began to increase one year ago of the earthquakes(1996, M6.9, M6.7), it was returned in the value of the cause from about 2001, and 5 years passed at Miyazaki Observatory. Earthquake activities have lowered since about 2002 in the central part of Hyuganada region.

燃焼主要生成物であり社会的にも問題視されている温度効果ガスの2酸化炭素について、3年間にわたり相模湾で高度7kmまでの鉛直分布を観測した結果について報告する。航技研機を用いて1996年12月から1999年12月までほぼ月2回のペースで大気採取を行い、採取大気を国立環境研究所において分析した。ここでは高度および季節による変動などを解析した結果について報告する。, In order to ascertain temporal and spatial variations in atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) levels near the Tokyo metropolitan area, air samples have been collected by airplane since December 1996, over Sagami-Bay (35.0 - 35.1 deg N, 139.2 - 139.4 deg E) in Japan. Sampling was carried out monthly from December 1996 to May 1997 and twice a month from June 1997 to December 1999, at eight altitudes from 0.5 km to 7 km. The CO2 concentration in these samples shows clear seasonal variation and secular increase. In the seasonal variations, larger amplitude and earlier phase were observed at lower altitudes. Annual average of CO2 concentration is higher at lower altitudes, suggesting that the ground surface around the observed area act as a source of atmospheric CO2. Extremely high CO2 concentrations accompanied by high concentrations of CH4, N20, CO and H2 were observed several times at lower altitudes, implying that anthropogenic air from the Tokyo metropolitan area often reaches to Sagami-Bay., 資料番号: AA0028667000, レポート番号: NAL TR-1422
