Stratospheric ozone depletion caused by emission of chemicals including chlorofluorocarbon (CFCs) is one of the global environmental problems. Vienna Convention adopted in 1985 and Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer (Montreal pact) adopted in 1987 oblige participant nations to regulate production of chemicals including CFCs (ozone-depleting substance) in order for all nations to cooperate in protecting the ozone layer. Japan has enacted Law Concerning the Protection of the Ozone Layer and launched measures to suppress emission of ozone-depleting substance, rationalization of its usage, and regulate its production based on the law. Additionally, Japan has adopted Vienna Convention and Montreal pact. This paper intends to analyze the policymaking process leading to the enactment of Law Concerning the Protection of the Ozone Layer. 国際宇宙ステーション搭載分光放射計SMILES用のサブミリ波受信機エンジニアリングモデルの評価試験を行っている。これまでに、20mW(4Kステージ)の冷却性能、300K熱雑音信号入力時の、IF帯域内(11〜13GHz)周波数偏差2.0dBでの出力電力レベル-17dBm/GHz、雑音温度220K(DSB)などの値を得た。これらの値は設計仕様を満たしている。超伝導(SIS)ミキサーの物理温度の低減化策や、振動後のステージ温度異常の原因究明など、課題は残るが、SSB雑音温度500Kの高感度受信機実現の目処はたった。, 資料番号: AA0047899094

The seasonal and latitudinal variations of the correlation between the small-scale structures of ozone mixing ratio and potential temperature are investigated using ozonesonde data to reveal the role of vertical and horizontal advections in creating such small-scale structures of ozone in the lower stratosphere. In the mid-latitude, the correlation between ozone and potential temperature has a maximum around the altitude of 20-25 km from summer to autumn. The relative variation of ozone mixing ratio increases with decreasing of the correlation between ozone and potential temperature. This indicates that the variation of ozone mixing ratio is mainly influenced by horizontal advections, which do not necessarily make a good correlation between the ozone and potential temperature. Such processes do not seem to be gravity waves. It is suggested that not only the distinct structures of ozone, which are well studied in the past, but also the smaller structures are created by the horizontal advection., 資料番号: AA0045981034

Skin tumors in aged patients consist of benign tumors, precancerous lesions or carcinomas in situ, and skin cancers. We reviewed the clinical characteristic and treatment for each of them, and the molecular pathogenesis and protection for skin cancers. Exposure to ultra-violet (UV) radiation is the most common cause of skin cancers. In particular, UV-B radiation is mainly involved in the mutagenesis in the skin by two major photoproducts of a cyclobutane pyrimidine dimer and a (6-4) photoproduct. Recently, the ozone layer of the earth has been destroyed, and the increase in UV-B radiation on the earth surface can be expected in the next years. Therefore, we should add special attention to patients with skin cancers that are predicted to increase in number, and UV protection by sunscreens from childhood should be essential for the prevention against skin cancers in the 21st century.
