The scientific theory being supported by noble physical chemistry or famous researchers tends to be believed. The theory sometimes cites convenient descriptions to support their intended idea and skip over inconvenient observations. This report intend to lead the readers to the well-known "power spot at Mt. Kurama" resulted in high-energy γ-rays which causes electron-pair creation. No synthesized photo or figures is used in this report, but some inconvenient data are not mentioned to insist the intended idea. We experienced severe accident on nuclear power plant at March 2011. We understood now that the radioactivity is one of the most important environments fur our mankind. Knowledge and basic experience on radioactivity must be a fundamental curriculwn to be taught at University of Education. We intended to understand natural radioactivity depend on our daily environments. In this paper, we report the result of our trial to measurement of radioactivity in and around the Aichi University of Education. Measured activities will be memorized on students as our common exposure., 2011年3月､我々は未曾有の原子力発電所事故を経験した｡この事故は広範囲に放射性物質を飛散させ､放射線が人類にとって最も重要な環境因子である事を､強く認識させた。放射線に対する基礎的な知識と経験は､二酸化炭素やヒ素による環境汚染以上に大学教育において強く教えるべきことがらであろう｡環境放射能を素材として､日常での被爆量を実体験する事､その被爆量の場所による違いを知る事､を目的とした実習授業を行った｡この結果は､日頃なじみの薄い線量の単位とともに受講生の放射線に対する帯織をより深め得たと考えられる｡

Remarkable varieties of natural radioactivity on sidewalks in Nagoya University Campus are found. Changing of their intensities is clear at boundaries of sidewalks. The varieties come from differences of U and Th abundances in pavement block and easy to detect with radiation survey meter. It is proposed to use the variation of the radioactivity for a road signal., キャンベラ社製のInSpector 1000 ポータプルスペクトロメーターに3X3 インチのNaI 検出器を装着した。検出器は下方に向け、手提げ袋に入れて地上から30 -50cm のところに保持し、Locator モードで、大学キャンパスを豊田講堂のある東側から四谷通り(市道)を横断し、工学部のある西側へ移動しながら放射線量の変化を測定した。その結果、市道(四谷通り)の歩道上で線量が急激に高くなることがわかった。線量率は，市道の歩道上では0.12μSv/h，大学内の歩道上では0.05μSv/h でいずれも舗道ブロックの骨材に由来する自然放射線の違いと考えられた。エネルギースペクトルからは、両地点で、カリウムに大きな違いはないものの、ウランとトリウムが市道の歩道に約3倍多いことがわかった。ゆっくり歩いていると、放射線量の違いが瞬時に検出される程の歩道の境がある(差がない所もある)ことがわかった。この線量の多様性を点字ブロックや階段の音楽のように、通路標識(RadioGuide Way) として利用出来ないだろうか?点字ブロックや音楽信号は，摩耗や故障することがあるかもしれないが、カリウムやウランからの放射線は数億年経っても変わらない。岩石を骨材とするブロックは、不要になれば自然に返すこともできる。骨材を選ぶだけで余分な工事費はかからない。その応用案を数例示した。, 第23回名古屋大学年代測定総合研究センターシンポジウム平成22(2010)年度報告

ラドンが有機溶媒によく溶けることを利用して水中のラドン定量法:トルエン抽出-液体シンチレーションカウンター測定法が開発された。次にその応用として空気中のラドン濃度測定法を検討し、Passive型のオープンバイアル法を考案した。測定バイアルのキャップをはずし空気中に露出した液体シンチレーターの中に溶け込んでくるラドン濃度を測定する方法である。オープンバイアル法をウラン探査地域、地熱地域等に適用し、ウラン探査、温泉探査、断層探査等に利用出来ることがわかった。今回は自然放射線地域への適用を検討した。都内に掘った調査孔の中にオープンバイアルを5日間づつセットし、土壌空気中のラドン濃度を測定した。測定は21ケ月間継続し、得られたデータを処理して高速フーリエ変換し、同一期間測定した気圧、気温、降雨量との相互相関関数を求めた。, We have previously developed a method for the determination of radon in natural water using toluene extraction and applying an integral counting method using a liquid scintillation counter studies. During these studies it was found that when an open vial containing toluene is exposed to the atmosphere, dissolution of radon clearly occurs. This is due largely to the partition coefficient of radon between some organic solvents such as toluene, and air or water. To extend this finding for the determination of radon in the atmosphere, open vials containing a liquid scintillation solution, suspended in a hole of the ground surface, absorb a fixed proportion of radon present in soil gas. This vial method is acceptable for determination of radon in soil gas due to its rapidly, simplicity, and sensitivity. These factors are especially advantageous in field applications. This method promises to have many interesting applications in uranium prospecting, detection of fissures or faults, earthquake forecasting and others in geochemical experiments. This time we have adopted OV method to the natural radioactivity region. Open vial was set by every five-day circle in the test hole up which was dug in Tokyo, and the amount of radon in the soil air was measured. Fast Fourier transform was done and continued for 21 months the measurement, doing, and processing acquired data, and the cross correlation function with each amount of the rainfall was requested the atmospheric pressure and the nature temperature in which the same period was measured.

In order to investigate the characteristics on natural radioactivity of loess, desert sand and eolian dust origin soil distributed in East Asia, analyses for ^U, ^Th and ^K concentrations by ICP-MS and ICP-AES, and for major chemical composition, SiO_2, Al_2O_3, K_2O, etc., by XRF have been performed on 48 samples collected from the wide area of China and three prefectures of Japan. The results for loess samples indicated that the concentrations of natural radioactive elements and major chemical composition are almost homogeneous over Chinese Loess Plateau. Also the results suggested that the basic material of the red soils developed on Quaternary limestone in Okinawa prefecture, southwestern part of Japan, is not weathering residual from the base rock, but the eolian dust from the high background radiation area in the southeastern part of China. These observations could give important keys to understand the origin place of the eolian dust in East Asia during the Quaternary., 論文
