Along the development of an expressway, the problem on a high speed moving automobile due to side wind gust become of major interest lately. Then, we have investigated on the character of natural wind and the behaviour of automobile due to side wind gust on the test course of Hokuriku Expressway. This time, some experiments were performed on the following matters in order to compare with the case of natural wind by the side wind blowers equipment of Japan Automobile Research Institute, Inc.. 1.the character of tlte artificially generated wind2.the behaviour of automobile due to the artificially generated side wind gust, i.e.,lateral displacement of an automobile, steering force, steering angle, lateral acceleration and yawing acceleration in consequence of a revised steering. Here, we report the results of some experiments and discuss them in this paper. At present stage, there are many points which are uncertain, and so more detailed experimental research is required.
