The stain adhered on clothing with India ink could damage the appearance performance of clothing. Since the removal of soil is very difficult, a user gives up the use of clothing in many cases. In order to recover the function of clothes, removal of the India ink stain was considered from the viewpoint of the resources and environment that are the subject of a present-day clothes life. The soiled fabrics were made using white polyester, cotton, and polyester/cotton blended fabrics. The reflectance of the whole staining fabrics with solid India ink was lower. In the case of spot stained fabrics, no difference among the kinds of India ink was found. The soiled fabrics were washed out using bleach, dispersing agent and detergent. The significant difference was found between detergency and the kind of India ink, fiber, and the staining method (ANOVA, p<0.05). All of detergency was low and removal of India ink was difficult. When the kind of India ink compared the detergency, the detergency of the soiled fabrics with solid India ink was significantly higher (p< 0.05). The detergency of whole or spot staining fabric changed with the kind of a fiber or India ink. NaClO reduces function of protection colloid of a soot particle. This study focuses on business relationships in Japan for industries pertaining to dyeing and finishing. The authors analyzed complex networks of 3354 companies contained in the Annual Report on the Textile-Related Trade, 1998 edition published by Sen-I Sha Company. Based on the community extraction proposed by Newman in 2004, there are forty-six communities in complex network and two large competitive communities containing a lot of dyeing and finishing companies are existed. As results of community extraction of complex network that deletes one big company on the betweenness centrality, the structure of the community is changed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper focuses on the business relationship from the industrial side of dyeing and finishing and analyses complex networks in the textile-related trade. Firstly, on the network analysis using the index of the graph theory, the structure of the network in the textile-related trade is the scale free network and the hub company of the scale free network was shown. Secondly, on the betweenness centrality, the central company of complex network was extracted. In order to find an effective way to improve the photostability of crosslinking dyes, two novel 1 : 2 Cr-complexed crosslinking azo dyes were synthesized through diazotization and coupling reaction, chlorination, amination and metallization. The structures of the intermediate dyes were characterized by IR, MS and 1H NMR. It was confirmed that the intermediate dyes existed in hydrazone form. The structures of the Cr-complexed crosslinking dyes were characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy and atomic absorption spectroscopy. The differences of the major absorption peaks between metal-free crosslinking dyes and their corresponding Cr-complexes were studied by UV-vis spectroscopy. Silk and wool were dyed with crosslinking dyes through exhaustion dyeing without salt, and then were fixed via crosslinking agent 2-chloro-4, 6-di(aminobenzene-4′-β-sulfatoethylsu1fone)-1, 3, 5-s-triazine. The results show that the application of Cr-complexed crosslinking dyes on silk and wool exhibit high dyeing exhaustion and crosslinking reaction ratio. Moreover, the lightfastness of metallized dyes on silk and wool is 2-3 grades higher than that of the metal-free crosslinking dyes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cotton woven fabrics were treated with ultrasonic and ultraviolet irradiation to prepare a fabric modified by two types of titanium dioxide (TiO2). The specimens modified by TiO2 were investigated on the wash durability and aesthetic properties. The specimen fabrics prepared by irradiation of ultrasonic and ultraviolet (UV) light increased supporting TiO2 compared to that modified only by ultrasonic irradiation. The prepared cotton fabrics, i.e., TiO2 stably-maintained on the cotton fabric, had a resistance to washing. On the measure of aesthetic properties, untreated cotton fabrics changed their properties to the rougher surface, lager "SHARI" and smaller "FUKURAMI". However, cotton fabrics modified by TiO2 reduced deterioration of aesthetic properties by the effect of UV light. Cotton fabrics modified by anatase TiO2 TiO2 complex show the less effects on damage of fabrics. In the case that anatase TiO2 fabrics were applied to the degradation system of Orange II dye, the degradation rate of Orange II was 100% under UV light irradiation for 24 hours. The functional materials of cedar sawdust with polyamine were prepared and the characteristics of their adsorption for methyl orange was studied. The cedar sawdust was treated with concentrated hydrochloric acid at about 100°C for 4 h. Next the modified cedar sawdust was reacted with polyamine at about 100°C. When the cedar sawdust was treated by triethylenetetramine, the content of nitrogen in cedar sawdust was higher than for the treatment with other polyamines. The optimum pH range for the adsorption of methyl orange was about 2-7. The maximum adsorption capacity obtained from the Langmuir adsorption isotherm was 1.4 mmol g-1. The rate of adsorption was rapid, and the adsorption equilibrium was attained within about 20 mm. Thus, the cedar sawdust-polyamine could be used with a high flow rate to the column operation. When 0.1 w/v% methyl orange aqueous solution was developed, the treatment ability was 62 B.V. Moreover, the adsorption active sites in cedar sawdust for methyl orange were investigated.
