Antimicrobial agents sometimes cause the adverse effects of diarrhea and loose stool. Antibiotic-resistant lactic acid bacteria are used to prevent these adverse effects. The bacteria are not resistant to several antimicrobial agents, although the bacterium preparations are sometimes prescribed the antimicrobial agents concomitantly. Therefore this paper reports that the minimal inhibitory concentration of three new antimicrobial agents against antibiotic-resistant lactic acid bacteria were determined using a microdilution method with cation-adjusted Mueller-Hinton broth. Furthermore, we investigated antimicrobial agents that are prescribed concomitantly with antibiotic-resistant lactic acid bacterium preparations or a clostridium butyricum preparation. The bacteria were susceptible to the three new antimicrobial agents. Approximately 50% of the bacterium preparations were prescribed alone, and 30% were prescribed concomitantly with antimicrobial agents that show antimicrobial activity against the bacteria. 胸部外科手術を受けた主に成人入院患者に,Clostridium butyricum,Miyairi株を経口投与し,その投与前,および後の糞便中の種々細菌数およびCl.butyricumの菌数も測定した。Cl. butyricum, Miyairi株は経口投与数日後糞便中から検出されるようになり,その菌数は糞便1gあたり10^6〜10^7個であった。腹部症状のなかった患者にミヤBMを投与すると,投与前に比べ糞便中大腸菌,Lactobacillus,腸球菌の数が増加した。これに反し,クレブシエラ,カンジダの菌数に減少した。腹部症状を呈した患者にミヤBMを投与すると,大腸菌,Lactobacillus菌数が同様に増加し,これらの患者糞便中にかなりみられたクレブシエラ,カンジダ,緑膿菌,変形菌数が減少し,症状も消退した。, The number of bacteria in the feces was counted before and after oral administration of Clostridium butyricum, Miyairi strain to in-patients of Chest surgery. Cl.butyricum were dectected 10^6 to 10^7 organisms per gram of the feces in several days after the administration. When Cl.butyricum were administrated to the patients having no abdominal symptoms, the number of Escherichia coli, Lactobacillus and Streptococcus increased whereas the number of Klebsiella and Candida decreased in the feces, comparing the periods before and after the administration.
