The hybrid solar sail that has the potential to explore the Jupiter and asteroids requires very light weight photovoltaic solar array system with specific power exceeding 1 kW/kg. We expect to reduce the mass of the solar array system dramatically utilizing the thin-film solar cells. Recently, amorphous Silicon (a-Si) solar cells and CIGS (Copper Indium Gallium Selenide) solar cells have been developed as low-cost solar cell for the terrestrial commercial product conducted by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization in Japan. In addition, high radiation tolerant of CIGS and a-Si solar cells was reported. We have been carrying out evaluation tests of the a-Si thin film solar cell concerning several space environmental conditions. In this paper, we describe results of the thermal equilibrium experiment, I-V characteristics of several temperature conditions, and electron and proton irradiation test for the a-Si thin film solar cell., 資料番号: AA0063965010
