海岸植物のマツナ Suaeda glauca （Bunge） Bunge の大阪府における確実な分布記録はこれまで知られていなかったが，国立科学博物館植物標本室（TNS）において明治29年（1896年）に大阪府泉南郡岬町淡輪で松田定久によって採集されたマツナの標本を見いだした．この標本の詳細と合わせて，大阪府におけるマツナの分布記録の変遷についてまとめて報告した．, Although the distribution records of the coastal plant Suaeda glauca （Bunge） Bunge in Osaka Prefecture has been unclear, I discovered a specimen of S. glauca collected at Tannowa, Misaki-cho, Osaka Prefecture, Japan in 1896 （Meiji 29） by Sadahisa Matsuda in the Herbarium, National Museum of Nature and Science （TNS）. This report summarizes the details of this specimen as well as the transition of the distribution records of S. glauca in Osaka Prefecture.

博物館の乾燥菌類標本のカビ汚染について調査を行ったところ，カビはDNAとして検出されるが，現在生存していないことが明らかになった．そこで，過去に採集，乾燥，標本の作製，保存のどの段階で，どの程度カビ汚染が起きたかについて，博物館に収蔵されているAmanita属36標本のカサの部分を用いて検証した．手法としては，２種のカビの作成したプライマーを用いて，各検体のカビ数をリアルタイムPCRで測定し，その胞子数を調査した．得られた結果は次の通りであった．①両種の胞子数は標本ごとに桁違いのバラツキがあった．②検出されたA. penicillioidesの胞子数は，標本の乾重量100 mg当たり平均約1000個, Eurotium sp. は約7個であった．③結果は，採集時からの様々な過程で，湿り気が発生し，標本上にカビが一時的に発生したことを示唆している．なお，産出された胞子数は標本の古さ，あるいは目視でのカビの有無とは関係ないので，保存前の段階で汚染がしばしば起きたと推測される．, Fungal contamination on dried mushroom specimens in the museum were tested. Alive fungal spores were not found in specimens examined, but DNA of dead fungal spores was often found in them. We elucidated when this fungal contamination had occurred. Spores of dead common xerophilic fungi, Aspergillus penicillioides and Eurotium sp. in each dry specimen of Amanita was measured by real-time PCR. Trace of fungal contamination was found in many specimens examined. A large variation of spore counts was recognized among specimens in logarithmic scale, and A. penicillioides was predominant. Thus, the propagation of fungi was thought to occur after collecting specimen, for example drying sample of mushrooms, and storage of specimens. Because fungal contamination occurred regardless stored period of specimens in the museum, a lot of this contamination in specimens seems to occur before storage in the museum according to dampness in surrounding environments.

タシロラン Epipogium roseum（D.Don）Lindl. は熱帯アフリカ，熱帯.亜熱帯アジア，オセアニアに分布するラン科トラキチラン属の菌従属栄養植物である． 1970年代以降，日本におけるタシロランの記録が関東以西で増えはじめ，地域によっては生育地や個体数が増えている．大阪府においても 2000年以降に標本や文献，インターネット上の記録が見られるようになり，過去 20年ぐらいで生育地が増加した可能性が高いと考えられた．今後，大阪府のタシロランの分布拡大状況を記録していく上で，落葉層が堆積した湿った環境に注意を払っていく必要がある．, Epipogium roseum（D.Don）Lindl.（Orchidaceae）is a mycoheterotrophic plant that is widely distributed in tropical and subtropical Asia, Oceania and Africa. Since the 1970s, records of this plant in Japan have increased in central to western Japan, and the number of populations has increased in some areas. In Osaka Prefecture, specimens, literature, and Internet records of this plant have been available since the 2000s. In the future, to monitor the expansion of E. roseum in Osaka Prefecture, it will be necessary to pay attention to the wet forest floors with a thick layer of deciduous leaves.

Auricularia specimens deposited in the National Museum of Nature and Science, Japan, were observed to reexamine their species identification based on updated taxonomic criteria, and to verify the taxonomy and distribution of Auricularia spp. in Japan. Four of the ten specimens previously identified as A. auriculajudae were reidentified as A. americana (1), A. cornea (1), and A. villosula (2) based on morphological criteria such as medullae, abhymenial hairs, and basidiospores. The remaining six specimens could not be identified at the species level due to the lack of distinguishing morphological characteristics. Two of the five specimens previously considered A. minor were identified as different species due to basidiospore size discrepancy, but the remaining two specimens and the type specimen were in poor condition, and their basidiospores could not be properly observed. Three of the nine specimens previously identified as A. polytricha were reidentified as A. cornea based on morphological criteria. The remaining six specimens were not identified as A. polytricha. The type specimens of A. polytricha f. leucochroma and A. polytricha f. tenuis were in poor condition, and their basidiospores could not be properly observed. Reexaminations of existing specimens based on recent taxonomic criteria will contribute to updating the taxonomy and distribution of Auricularia spp. in Japan., 国立科学博物館に収蔵されているAuricularia標本の形態を観察し，近年の分類学的基準に基づく種同定および本属菌の日本における分類と分布の再検討を行った。その結果，A. auricula-judaeとされていた10標本中，4標本がそれぞれA. americana（1），A. cornea（1），A. villosula（2）に再同定された。残りの6標本は，種の識別に有用な形態的特徴がみられなかったため，種同定には至らなかった。Auricularia minor とされていた5 標本のうち，2標本は本種とは別種と考えられた。残りの2標本とタイプ標本は状態が良好ではなく，十分な担子胞子の観察ができなかった。Auricularia polytricha とされていた9標本のうち，3標本はA. corneaに再同定された。残りの6標本はA. polytrichaやA. nigricansとは別種であると考えられた。Auricularia polytricha f. leucochromaとA. polytricha f. tenuisのタイプ標本は状態が良好ではなく，担子胞子の観察ができなかった。近年の分類基準に基づいて過去の標本を再検討することにより，日本におけるAuricularia spp.の分類と分布情報を更新することができるだろう。

本論文では，大学における植物標本庫創設の1事例をもとに，標本作成枚数の推移とその要因について解析した。創設後14年間で，累積枚数は3,757枚となり，年間の標本作成枚数は周期的な変動を繰り返しながら年間およそ200枚の増加に収斂していた。当初は大学の所在する県内での標本作成枚数が大部分を占めたが，創設5年目ごろを境に県外での標本作成枚数の増加が顕著になった。また，重複標本の割合は，県外の標本作成枚数では初期に低く，9年目以降に高くなった。これらの変化の背景には教育研究上の理由や配属学生数の影響があることが推測された。創設30年後には7,000枚前後に達すると予測されるが，現状ですでに植物標本庫の容量を超過している状況にあり，施設，設備の面で保存状況，利用しやすい状況も次第に損なわれていくことが予想される。将来的に，大学の植物標本庫として永続的なものにするかどうかを決めることは重要であり，大学において植物標本庫の意義が重んじられることを期待したい。, Article, 信州大学農学部AFC報告 17: 53-57(2019)

米国の詩人 Emily Dickinson は生前、友人や近所の人々の間では優れた園芸家として知られていました。彼女はまた植物標本帳を作っていましたが、その中に Lonicera Japonica (日本産スイカズラ)と Chaenomeles Japanica (ボケ) の花の押し花があります。本論では、彼女がその日本産スイカズラをどのようにして手に入れたかを考察します。一般には、日本産スイカズラは、1862年に George Rogers Hall によって、他の植物と共に横浜からロングアイランドの Parsons という、養樹園に運ばれ、そこで増やされてアメリカ中に広まったとされています。日本産スイカズラはその甘い香りと蜜のおかげで、当時、人々を魅了したそうですが、やがて米国東部の気候や土壌に適合し、特に東南部ではその土地の植物を駆逐し、繁茂してしまったので、今ではひどく嫌われているそうです。Judith Farr は The gardens of Emily Dickinson の中で、Dickinson の植物標本帳にある日本産スイカズラは Parsons 経由のものだとしています。しかし Dickinson はその花の標本のところに、Lonicera というラテン名しか書き込んでおらず、その後ろに長いダッシュを付け加えています。もし、Parsons 社から手に入れたのであれば、ダッシュの代わりに Japonic という名前をいれたに違いありません。ですから、彼女の日本産スイカズラは Parsons 経由のものではないようです。他にも Dickinson の日本産スイカズラの入手方法が幾つか考えられますが、1853年と1854年、ペリーの日本遠征の際に Samuel Wells Williams と James Morrow が日本で採集した植物の一つをもらった可能性が最も高いと思われます。彼女は日本の植物が到着した直後に、ワシントンDCに国会議員であった父親を訪問していましたので、日本から来た植物を見学し、その際に一株もらったのかもしれません。そうであれば、ペリーの『日本遠征記』の第2巻に収録するため、採集した植物のリストがエイザ・グレイ教授によって作成される前であり、まだ標本が特定されていなかったため、Japonicaという名前を付けることができなかったと考えられます。

The pilot study preliminary to a full-scale studies on useful plants in everyday life in Laos was carried out in Vientiane and its surrounding areas from 19 to 29, 2003. Members of Department of Forestry, National University of Laos and the Japanese participants had fruitful discussion toward the enrichment of herbarium facilities. In addition, the field survey on 185 plants from 9 markets and other habitats provides interesting examples of the diversity of useful plants.

Volcano Unzen is located at the center of Shimabara Peninsula, western Kyushu, Japan. It erupted in November 1990 after a 198-year dormant period since the 1792 eruption. The volcanic activity has continued until 1995, and badly damaged plant and animal life of Mt. Fugen-dake, the central cone of the volcano. The present paper is a list of plant specimens collected by the late Saburo TOYAMA (1902-1986), Professor of Botany at the Faculty of Liberal Arts and his students, during the period of 1920'-1970's, from every corner of the Unzen area before the 1990 eruption. The list enumerates 1386 specimens and 406 species, consisting of 371 spermatophytes and 35 pteridophytes.

The stability and solubility of four barium arsenites and three barium arsenates have been determined as a function of pH by equilibrating mixtures of barium hydroxide with arsenious or arsenic acid solution at 25℃. The standard free energies of formation (kcal/mol) have been calculated from the solubility data to be - 406.6 for BaH (AsO_2)_3,- 363.4 for Ba (AsO_2)_2・H_2O, - 624.2 for Ba_2 (AsO_2)_3OH・H_2O, - 1461.1 for Ba_5 (AsO_2)_6 (OH)_4・2H_2O, - 550.5 for Ba (H_2AsO_4)_2・H_2O, - 368.5 for BaHAsO_4・H_2O and - 739.8 for Ba_3 (AsO_4)_2. The equilibrium log [As] - pH diagrams have been constructed for the Ba (II)-As (III)-H_2O and Ba (II)-As (V)-H_2O systems by using the thermodynamic data obtained in this study. They show the relative solubility of arsenic from barium arsenites and arsenates.

Several role of the X ray examination of gastrointestinal tract was shown. In the differential diagnosis of left upper quadrant mass, vector principle is utilized, and spheroid sign is useful in the differentiating intramural from extramural lesions. In the X ray diagnosis of cancer invasion to the wall, analysis of profile view is utilized. The deformity of the lesions is classified as none, wedge shape, semilunal, and trapezoid. These deformities are closely connected with the depth of cancer invasion. Several secondary colonic changes were shown. These are occasionally missed or misdiagnosed. Although barium is the usual contrast material, gastrografin must be used in suspected perforation of gastrointestinal tract. In intussusception, barium enema is used for diagnosis and treatment.
