Abstract

After a brief presentation of the background of applied psychology in Italy in which the experience of the Laboratory of Psychotechnics in Bologna is carried out, Canestrari's research and reflections are recalled which stimulate and support the commitment of some of his students/colleagues in expanding the image of work psychology, enriching it with social dimensions and thus justifying its inno-vative presence in organizational contexts. Finally, the possibilities of establishing a "psychology of the professions" are mentioned by focusing on the professionalization process of psychologists. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
