This article analyses Caravaggio’s transnational omnipresence in popular culture through the lens of Stardom and Celebrity Studies in order to reflect on the role of iconic figures in our contemporary world. Understanding what makes a figure reach iconic status is essential in order to understand Caravaggio’s long-lasting popularity and influence beyond the sphere of high art. Through a series of case studies belonging mostly to fashion and street art, and through the use of work carried out by marketing and communications experts, the article explores those features that enable an artist’s impact to extend beyond his/her field, and what happens to the original meaning of that artist work when his/her image moves across different forms of cultural production. In order to address these questions, the case studies have been divided into three groups representing the key functions of iconic figures in today’s globalised culture: 1) cultural icons and branding 2) visual activism 3) populist voices.

The incipient interest in hybrid and collaborative didactics in times of COVID-19 highlights the fundamental role of digital hybrids in the training of university students. New mobile devices allow the ubiquity of teaching-learning processes. But they not only allow the possibility of sharing and communicating at any time and place. In these devices, different tools that integrate different representation systems converge, and offer new forms of construction, representation and communication of knowledge. From the questioning of the hegemonic technological culture, and from a didactic approach that advocates comprehensive and critical teaching, we want to present the creative functions of mobile devices so that students can build their own texts, new multimodal narratives, for the construction of a creative digital identity. An identity that allows them to perceive, analyse, reflect, produce, communicate and participate in their environment in a collaborative way. We present a transgressive didactic proposal based on photographic narration that displays new semiotic ways of building knowledge and making it known. We discuss its value to rethink other functions of academic knowledge and assessment, beyond achievement tests, critical dimensions in the University.

Is it possible to make history in kindergarten? Can the Montessori method stimulate the child's interest in human history? Through public history, is it possible that children become protagonists of new historical research practices and teachers communicate in original forms? To this end, two specific didactic paths have been developed, both characterized by practical experiences, reconstruction methods and diversified narrative forms, including the final exhibition of the paths themselves. In the first, "Time travels" is worked on a different scale, from the pupil's personal biographical history to the more in-depth knowledge of the "stories" through museum visits, reconstruction of historical landscapes, simulation of ancient activities, diversified narratives (pop-up book, dramatization). With the second project "The forms of the time" it is investigated over time from different perspectives (physics, biology, psychology) and "making history" is being carried out with and by children through workshop activities, storytelling, living history.

Introduction: The theoretical framework of this project is based on the integral care and is person-centered. The multisensory stimulation is increasing in day centers and geriatric residences. This space provides an environment of well-being and warmth to the person, which provides a good environment to work on the behavioral and emotional capacities. The elements that must be present in a Snoezelen space can be classified according to the type of sensory system that is being stimulated in each case: tactile, vibratory, vestibular, visual, auditory, gustatory and olfactory. The main objective of this work is to investigate the contributions of multisensory stimulation in people with different levels of dementia: low, moderate or severe. Methods: Quantitative and qualitative. Design: Almost experimental, with intra-subject measure repeated throughout the investigation. Participants: 84 people diagnosed with dementia. Instruments: Video recordings and standardized tests. Procedure: Participants were randomly assigned to the Snoezelen room or the reminiscence sessions (control group). Each group participated in two weekly sessions of 30 minutes for 3 months. Each session had a maximum of three patients in each group. The tests were applied before and at the end of the therapy. Sessions 1 and 24 were recorded on video. Results: There were significant differences in anxiety, depression and agitation in the patient who participated in the Snoezelen room (greater decrease) compared to the patients who had been assigned on the reminiscence therapy. Snoezelen room patients also showed an improvement on relaxation levels. Conclusions: multisensory therapy favors emotional adjustment. This research has analyzed the influence of attitudes towards disability on the academic performance of the students of the Master’s Degree in Preschool Education of the University of Jaén who study the subject of Developmental Disorders. Researches such as Alcañiz, Chulià, Riera, Ruis and Santolino (2016) study the relationship between the skills required in professional performance and academic performance. Moreno, Rodríguez, Saldaña and Aguilera, 2006). One of the essential competences of future teachers is the attitudes towards disability, since they foster the integral development of these people. For the research, a descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out on 48 university students who study the developmental disorders in the Preschool Education Degree. These students have been applied the Verdugo, Arias and Jenaro (1997) Scale of Attitudes towards people with disabilities (EAPD), which consists of 37 items grouped into five factors. Differences were analyzed according to gender, previous contact, reason, frequency, quality and type of disability in the scales of the questionnaire and in order to know the influence of the attitude towards the disability on the academic performance has taken into account its qualification In the subject in both the practical and theoretical parts. The results show that there are significant differences in the attitudes toward disability based on the variables of previous contact with these people, the reason and the quality of the same. Regarding the influence of the variables of the questionnaire on academic performance, it is observed that they explain 19.2% of the total variance in the practical note and 14.5% of the total variance in the theory note.

This article examines the political conflict surrounding the interstate transfer of water in the Huitzilapan-Xalapa Aqueduct, from which about 60% of the water resources for the city of Xalapa, state capital of Veracruz, come. This interstate water transfer has eventually lead to political and social conflict based on misinformation about perceived water shortages to Xalapa. The article examines a case in which water officials from Xalapa have apparently complied with guidelines related to procedural, distributive, and ecological justice. Therefore, the article proposes a focus on «justice as responsible (and informed) dialogue» as a central element of procedural justice. The analysis is based on a review of official documents, such as Mexican water laws and the water concession under which this water transfer has occurred, press reviews published in regional newspapers, a field visit and interviews with key stakeholders and researchers mostly in Veracruz state.

Despite the new model of successful ageing, negative images and stereotypes of the elderly still persist. Based on the “personalization model” that proposes that intergroup contact allows the creation of a more varied perception of the outgroup, this study aimed to determine the efficacy of an Intergenerational Program on reducing negative ageing stereotypes among young participants. The negative stereotypes held by 24 students were assessed before and after the implementation of the Program (IP), and possible predictors of the outcome were studied as well. Results showed that participation in the IP produced significant changes on stereotypes; those with little or no contact with elderly people prior to the IP significantly enhanced their perspective of the elderly

Health and social participation are two fundamental pillars of active aging thus it is important to understand variables that might affect them. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between extraversion, optimism, health status and social participation. The sample comprised 406 community-dwelling older adults (M=74.88, SD= 6.75) from urban areas of Granada. It was found that extraversion and optimism positively correlated with perceived health status and with social participation and negatively correlated with number of illnesses. The association between personality and social participation was stronger than the one between personality and health. This study highlights the relevance that personality has for older adults’ health and social participation thus it is important to consider personality in active aging models.

The metropolitanisation process that affects the contemporary city, climate change, the depletion of ecological and energy sources all demand a unified, integrated and interscalar public government strategy that makes urban regeneration and the restoration of territorial balance its priorities. Such a strategy has been the benchmark for drafting the 12 priority themes of the Urban Agenda for the EU and policies that aim to promote the smart sustainability and efficiency of cities. In this framework, the @22Barcelona project in Barcelona, presented in this paper, represents an emblematic example selected from the case studies of the “Mediterranean Europe: Strategies of urban and metropolitan rebalancing and the construction of the public city” research project (2016).

In this paper the most important moments of the educational policy in Argentine, related to the privatization process of social life, are reviewed. Putting aside some commonplace hypothesis, this process is analyzed as a consequence of the ways involved in the response to demands from classes or groups along the history of our country. This process led to the strengthening of a group of private suppliers of educational services, protected by measures that guarantee the financial support from the State and the presence of their interests when public education policies are prepared. The meaning of this process is considered within the frame of resetting the predominant forces in the present period of capitalism. Its hegemony is settled making the different forms of privatization -traditional or new of the national education system look natural, and hiding their real effects: the devaluation of public education as a universal value and of the role of the State to guarantee that education is equally distributed.

The winter of the year 2011 has witnessed the beginning of several revolutions, revolts and protests of great importance in many Arab countries. In this context of widespread revolt, Syria seemed to appear in the first moment as the main regional exception. Actually, in contrast with what was happening in the rest of the Arab countries, Syria wouldn’t be affected by the revolutionary winds until the middle of March. In this framework, the aim of this article is to understand why the Syrian people have taken almost three months to mobilize against the baathist regime and why they have finally revolted.

In the contemporary scenery of Spanish Poetry, we assist to some theoreticalpostulates and a distinctive lyrical practice, which evaluate some of themost vigorous myths in the “breaking tradition” of avant-garde poetry. I willexamine here some of these nuclear categories that constitute real challenges:experience, intimacy, commitment. Besides, I will ilustrate my argumentswith some references to the poetry of the spanish poet Luis García Montero(Granada, 1958), specially focusing his last book Vista cansada (2008), whichshows paradigmatically some of the most enriching debates in the aestheticpeninsular field.

Aim: The aim of the study was to analyze the etiology of early-onset neonatal infection (EONI), the risk factors, the forms and the time of its manifestation, and the tactics and outcomes of antibacterial treatment. Methods: During the prospective investigation, cases of newborns with diagnosed EONI and initial treatment in 2011 were analyzed. Four in-patient departments of Lithuania took part in the investigation. Results: In total, 18,778 newborns were included in the investigation. During the studied period, 209 cases of EONI were diagnosed: unspecified EONI in 168 (80.4%) neonates, pneumonia in 20 (9.6%), and early-onset sepsis (EOS) in 21 (10%) neonates. Group B Streptococcus (GBS) was responsible for 40% of microbiologically confirmed cases of sepsis. A negative blood culture was found in 11 newborns (52.4%) treated for sepsis. In all the cases, EONI was empirically treated with penicillin and gentamycin. The duration of antibacterial treatment varied between in-patient departments in Lithuania. During the studied period, 51.7% of women were screened for GBS colonization during pregnancy, and 21% of them had a positive vaginal culture for GBS; 78% of GBS carriers received intrapartum prophylactic antibiotics. Conclusions: The incidence of culture-confirmed early neonatal sepsis in Lithuania is similar to that indicated in the scientific literature, and is decreasing. Routine antenatal screening for GBS vaginal carriage in pregnant women is not universally performed in Lithuania. The duration of antibacterial treatment for EONI should be standardized in Lithuania.

The question of objectivity has always been of major interest to researchers, since Akhmatova’s poetry is considered as a variation of objective poetry. In the first part of my article I examine this phenomenon on the basis of the short analysis of the poem Cherneet doroga primorskogo sada…, in relation to symbols, motifs, oxymorons and the time-structure of the poem. According to the theory of V. Vinogradov, the time structure of Akhmatova’s poems consists of only one moment. The purpose of this work is to prove this in connection with the semantic and syntactic structures of the poem Vecherom, and to examine the role of semantic oxymorons as the most relevant textorganising elements. The other most important feature of the semantic and rhyme structure of this poem is the tendency to form a closed circle. This tendency and the presence of oxymorons are characteristics of Akhmatova’s code at text level. On the other hand, this code is influenced by the poet’s artistic outlook on life.

The problem of the relationship between Russian epistolary and fictional prose during the last quarter of the eighteenth century arose as a consequence of Yu. Tynyanov’s happy intuition that in certain epochs familiar letters could achieve the status of literary genre. In recent studies familiar correspondence has appeared as almost the only factor prompting the development of Russian sentimentalist prose. In this article a thorough investigation of Mikhail Muravyev’s published and unpublished letters and prose fiction (1776-1797) shows that the relationship between these two literary forms was far more complicated, because in fact on the one hand they both owed much to classical and contemporary West European sources and, on the other, in each of them the same elements had different functions and “worked” in a different way.

OBJECTIVE Our study aims to extend the previous research and compare two diagnostic methods performed on the ulnar nerve to validate the use of the ulnar goniometer in electromyographic diagnostic practice. Comparing the electroneurographic method, obtained through conduction velocity (CV) studies with ultrasound of the ulnar nerve in the area above the elbow and at the wrist, we aim to quantify the reliability of the ulnar goniometer compared to the diagnostic method ultrasound of the nerve. MATERIALS AND METHODS The operator examined with the use of the Ulnar Goniometer, detecting the wrist-below-elbow motor conduction speed and the above-elbow speed (AE), below-elbow speed (BE) and subsequently performed an ultrasound examination of the ulnar nerve in the forearm and elbow. We calculated the degree of homogeneity between measurements. RESULTS Evaluating 30 participants of both genders with typical paresthetic symptoms of ulnar nerve compression at the elbow, 100% of the measurements show that a decrease in Motor Conduction Velocity (MCV) below 50 m/s is associated with an increase in Cross-Sectional Area (CSA). Additionally, in 89% of cases, a reduction in MCV wBE and BEAE by more than 10 m/s is correlated with an increase in CSA. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS The measurement of the angle below the elbow (BE) and above the elbow (AE) using the Ulnar Goniometer provides us with a slowed Motor Conduction Velocity (MCV) that is by ultrasound data showing an increase in the Cross-Sectional Area (CSA) of the ulnar nerve in that segment, as observed in Cubital Tunnel Syndrome (CTS).

nervo ulnare, goniometro ulnare, ecografia nervosa, sindrome del canale cubitale. ,Medicine ,Therapeutics. Pharmacology ,RM1-950 - Abstract

Abstract The spread of conspiracy theories and misinformation poses substantial threats to democracy around the world. In the United States, entrenched political polarization is both a consequence and a ramification of the spread of biased and false information. Much of this misinformation is spread online, especially on social media. Of all the social media networks in existence, the video-sharing platform YouTube is the most significant incubator of right-wing conspiracist thinking. To what extent has internet usage affected conspiracy-mindedness in the U.S. during the Trump era? I analyze data from five waves of the Pew Research Center’s “American Trends Panel” to test the hypotheses that (1) being perpetually online, (2) keeping many social media accounts, and (3) relying on YouTube for news will increase perceptions of ‘fake news’, stoke conspiracist thinking, and help make democracy’s status in the U.S. ever more precarious. Findings indicate that reliance on YouTube for news is an especially powerful predictor of noticing fake news about COVID-19 and the 2020 U.S. presidential election; attitudes about voter fraud, Donald Trump’s challenges to the election results, and the January 6, 2021, insurrectionists; and deciding to stop talking to someone because of politics.

Coming-of-Age Novel ,Bildungsroman ,Contemporary Youth ,Contemporary and Ancien Régime Novels ,Language and Literature - Abstract
The main aim of this article is to discuss the conceptual frame of Bildungsroman in France: usually considered as having risen at the end of 18th century and faded at the end of 19th, concerning a male hero searching his place in the world, this kind of novel has been put in relation with a specific lapse of time and kind of society. We wish to propose a new approach to the French roman d’apprentissage, starting from contemporary texts and moving back to 17th century. The model of Bildungsroman can be reframed starting from its characteristics, showing the links between the contemporary coming-of-age novel and the novel of Ancien Régime: this will also allow the didactic use of nowadays narrative to approach the more complex narrative of the past centuries.

The construction industry is responsible for 30% of energy consumption, 40% of CO2 emissions, and 50% of raw material extraction. Introducing actions to improve the sustainability of induced impacts is urgently necessary, and it is essential to bring about this change by using innovative materials with a natural matrix and construction processes that optimise the raw materials and allow their recyclability. The article introduces the first outcomes of an interdisciplinary research project focused on applying geopolymers for building components. The research highlights the strategic role of sustainability combined with digitisation in order to improve ecological-environmental performance.

Currently, SRC plantations should produce multiple assortments, both for industrial and energetic uses, for being economically profitable. SRC trials comparing two different cultivation models (very high density model -– vHDM, 8,333 trees ha-1 with 2 years rotation; high density model -– HDM, 1,667 trees ha-1 with 5 years rotation) were established in 2005 in two sites (Casale Monferrato and Cavallermaggiore), on agricultural land with alluvial soils in the Western Po Valley (Italy). Both models were applied to poplar (clone 83.141.020), willow (clone S76-008) and black locust (provenance Energy). After 6 years from planting, the two treatments did not show significant differences in terms of cumulative biomass yield, with poplar being the most productive species at Casale Monferrato (64.65 and 63.76 Mg ha-1 with HDM and vHDM, respectively). Poplar production potential was confirmed at Cavallermaggiore (105.83 and 57.22 Mg ha-1, respectively). Black locust showed the lower yield at both sites. In HDM poplar exhibited the highest stem DBH, at both sites, reaching mean values of 15.0 and 17.8 cm at Casale Monferrato and Cavallermaggiore, respectively. In HDM, poplar was the only species capable to reach stem dimensions compatible with industrial destinations at the end of the first 5- years rotation.

Introduction: Loneliness is the lack of company, implies the lack of contact with other people. Due to scientific advances in the health field, the average age has increased and care in the elderly is increasingly important to avoid loneliness and the problems it can cause in their health. Objectives: To analyze the process of assessing the situation of loneliness in the elderly population by health professionals and describe those nursing interventions that contribute to the improvement in this situation. Material and methods: Bibliographic review in the main scientific databases of articles in English and Spanish in the last five years. The PICO question has been raised about the care of the elderly and loneliness. The number of articles consulted has been 21. In addition, the SACYL service portfolio and the NNN Consult search engine have been reviewed. Results: The use of different scales, OARS, UCLA, Gijón or Philadelphia, together with needs assessment models, allow early detection of loneliness in the elderly and therefore carry out prevention activities. The NIC Nurse Intervention Classification includes nursing interventions in line with NANDA Nurses Diagnoses appropriate to the results we expect to obtain from loneliness in the elderly. Conclusions: The health personnel is key in the detection of loneliness in the elderly through the use of the different means that the health system makes available to them. Detecting it early avoids other health problems that occur because of it.
