Abstract

La terapia con cellule CAR-CIK per la leucemia mieloide acuta (LMA) è limitata dalla ridotta infiltrazione delle cellule ingegnerizzate all’interno della nicchia midollare, rifugio delle cellule staminali leucemiche (LSC). Queste ultime, over-esprimendo il recettore CXCR4, sfruttano l’interazione con la chemochina CXCL12 rilasciata dalle cellule mesenchimali stromali (MSC) per annidarsi nel microambiente. L’espressione di CXCR4 si riduce drasticamente sulle cellule CIK durante la coltura. Conseguentemente, combinare il CD33.CAR con l’over-espressione di CXCR4 potrebbe promuovere la migrazione delle CAR-CIK nel midollo, contribuendo all’eradicazione della malattia. Abbiamo disegnato il vettore bicistronico non virale CD33.CAR(2A)CXCR4 utilizzando il sistema di trasposoni Sleeping Beauty. Abbiamo osservato che le CD33.CAR(2A)CXCR4-CIK (n=22) presentano un’elevata espressione del CAR e mantengono l’espressione di CXCR4 durante la coltura, mentre le CD33.CAR-CIK lo down-regolano progressivamente (n=22, P

Abstract

A seven years old boy presented with gross hematuria associated with clots and transitory renal insufficiency. The urinary sediment showed only monomorphic red blood cells. Subsequently urinary sediment completely modified: namely only dysmorphic red blood cells and hyaline granular casts were found and within a week renal function become normal. The clinical diagnosis of Berger's disease was possible only with renal biopsy.

Abstract

From 1970 to 1988, 330 cases of bacterial meningitis were diagnosed at the Children's Hospital Regina Margherita of Turin. Neisseria meningitidis was the most frequent cause of bacterial meningitis (45%); meningitis caused by Haemophilus influenzae increased from 4% in 1970-1983 to 19% in 1984-1988, and meningitis with pathogen unknown decreased from 28% in 1970-1983 to 7% in 1984-1988. The neonatal meningitis in 1984-1988 were caused by Streptococcus B in 90% of cases.

Abstract

The aim of our research was to evaluate same coagulative parameters in the rat after end-to-side porto-caval shunt, comparing the data with "sham operated" rats. At 180th day in each group the following parameters were controlled: platelet, fibrinogen, prothrombin time, partial thromboplastin time, T.E.G. The results have shown a significant diminution in the following parameters: PLT, PT, fibrinogen, and T.E.G.

Abstract

The purpose of these present experiences was to evaluate some metabolic parameters, which can show liver damage after end-to-side porto-caval shunt, comparing the data with "sham operated" rats. At 180th day in each group the following parameters were controlled: ALT, AST, Alkaline phosphatase, gamma GT, bilirubin, Cholesterol, albumin and ammonia blood level. The results showed a significant increase of gamma GT, APh, bilirubin and ammonia blood level in porto-caval shunt operated rats.

The authors report a case of tibial-tarsal septic arthritis caused by a Group A Beta Haemolytic Streptococcus. The primitive pathologic process was an erysipelas with an unusual localization originally of difficult interpretation.

Abstract

The authors report the case of a fourteen months old girl who presented with emisomal, uropoietic and vertebral anomalies associated with neurologic handicap. These features can be considered characteristic of facio-auriculo-vertebral spectrum. This syndrome was not frequently described in Italian pediatric literature.

Originally described in 1955, papular acrodermatitis is considered a rare disease whose manifestations are mainly cutaneous.
