Abstract

A new spectrophotometric method for determination of creatine and creatinine values, and hence calculation of the creatine index, is reported. Micropipetting of fingerprick quantities (0.3 ml) of blood enables values to be obtained from obese and progressive muscular dystrophy subjects, whose veins are difficult to find without damaging the tissues.

Abstract

A new index for the diagnosis of rheumatic activity by ECG is presented. By this method the TP/PQ ratio is considered and when lower than 1.10, it is significant for rheumatic activity. The results have been statistically processed by the T (Student) and the U tests, and highly significant.

Abstract

A dynamic index for the clinical evaluation of muscle performance is proposed. It takes account of Gowers time, supine time and the ability of the subject to hold up his neck and lower extremities. Its experimentation in 98 healthy subjects and 99 myopathic patients divided into four age groups showed it to be useful, particularly in the follow-up of patients subjected to pharmacological and/or physical management.
