The purpose of this paper is to present the contents of Satellite meeting IFLA “Transforming LIS education for professionals in a global information world: digital inclusion, social inclusion and lifelong learning”, held in August 30-31, 2019, at Vatican Library and Palazzo Cardinal Cesi in Rome. The authors pay attention to specific topics about LIS education (derived by globalization, widespread of ITC and changes connected with it): the standardization of curricula to improve the occupational mobility; the ethical implications of digitalization of ‘culturally sensitive’ item to promote the communication, the collaboration and the integration between communities; the introduction of LIS educations in university in order to encourage new classes and increase the dialog between institutions. The paper deals with changes in the work histories' patterns of two cohorts of young people living in the province of Trento (Italy) and aged 15-29 years, who got their first job in 1974/95 and 1999/2011, respectively. We build and use a database resulting from the deterministic matching and integration of two datasets: a multi-purpose panel survey carried out on a representative sample of households, and register data from the provincial section of the administrative archive of INPS - the Italian social security agency. From a methodological point of view, the integrated database gives clear evidence that register data provide much more detailed and reliable information on work histories than survey data. From a substantive perspective, we find sizeable changes across the two cohorts in (i) first job spells, (ii) number and length of work episodes in a time-window of eight years from entry in the first job, and (iii) the overall pattern of job participation and job mobility during the initial eight years of work histories. On the contrary, no variation across cohorts in career mobility patterns is observed. The evidence consistently points to a significant worsening of the working experience of the youth over less than two decades. With appropriate caveats, this evidence appears to be extensible to northern-central Italy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article aims at analysing gender inequality in occupational mobility of Argentines immigrants in Spain. The data source is the Encuesta Nacional de Inmigrantes, 2007 (ENI: National survey about immigrants, 2007). The paper verifies the hypothesis of the existence of a "U" shape trend in labour mobility from the last job position in Argentina to the last one registered in Spain through the survey. Results partially refuse the hypothesis. After emigration, immigrants experiment a downward mobility that is not balanced by a following ascending mobility. Because of their starting better position, the initial downward mobility among women is more intense, as the upward mobility in Spain, even though it doesn't compensate for the status loss, due to emigration. The article presents a study which aims to analyze the psychosocial factors on the mobility of nurses to another hospital and promotion of work environment to reduce turnover in the hospital.

This article analyses the «pluralistic» orientation of young graduates towards jobs. The indicators used for the empiric definition of «pluralistic» orientation are as follows: a propensity to job mobility, a propensity to holding two jobs when legally possible and a propensity to accepting more than one supervisor for the same job. The technique «path analysis» is used to connect these indicators with some variables independent of the organization involved. The results indicate the professional values common to young graduates.
