The author confined the term “traditional” to conceptual category and genre affiliation. Although Andric used both, the paper tried to determine how tradition was a motivating act not only for his work but also for the entire literary opus. The traditional culture was expressed through his characters (the paper mentioned ten of them). Gnomic and paremiological level of the work, in which traditional is very productive, were especially analyzed. Andric’s overview of Bosnian Franciscans’ works and activities was also observed at the traditional level.

Traditional tattooing custom represents an important ethnological unit in the cultural history of BiH. Permanent puncturing of skin, mostly practiced with the female part of population, is an anthropological specific phenomenon of Catholics from Central Bosnia. According to historiographical notes it is a part of mysterious prehistoric Illyrian heritage. But it seems that with the Ottoman occupation of medieval Bosnia a more autonomous and rich, ornament phase came as far as tattooing culture of Catholic women is concerned. That is a phase of “cross tattooing”, which was symbolically changed, for the purpose of saving life and identity in front of the coming islamisation, into new confessional garment. The intention of the paper is to explore, describe and comment, consulting the relevant authors and publications, autonomous and significant but extinct tradition of Catholics’ tattooing in (Central) Bosnia.

Archeological remains and written documents say that familiar human societies have had religion, of course that is not one religion; it appears in different forms. Analyzing religion, which is general and human phenomenon, important characteristic of a human and his life, is approached in different ways. This paper deals with scientific approach to religion and religious identity in modern period and globalization era. The question is where the religions go at the beginning of 21st century, what the meaning of religion and religious identity in today’s world is and what gathers modern society.

Besides the short description of the content structure the paper also analyzes general language terms and presents linguistic terminology of New Italian grammar book by Franjo Miličević which was published in 1874 by the Catholic legation press in Mostar. With the orthographic and grammatical norm the Grammar book presents the continuation of the Bosnian Franciscans grammatical tradition. The characteristics set it apart from the older grammar books made in BiH care noticed by studying its content, descriptive definitions, names and ways of forming grammatical materials. Emergence of the Grammar book and similar texts in the 1870-ies marked the beginning of serious linguistic interests and activities in Herzegovina.
